You know what isn’t very cool?
Waking up at 5am to the baby monitor going off and finding your 20 month old seizing, blue, and limp. I was home alone with her. Immediately grabbed her, called 911. Performed back slaps to get all the fluid and mucus out of her airway, and lay her on her side and prevent her from hurting herself/vomiting. Luckily as a firefighter, I knew the EMS crew that arrived on scene and I got a great medic. It appeared to me as a febrile seizure and was confirmed at the hospital. But definitely not a good time. 0/10 recommend starting your morning off like that. She’s good now, back home and relaxing, snacking, and snoozing. PS get a good baby monitor . We have two. EDIT: man sincerely thank you guys for the pat on the back. But reading through all of your comments, I’m really proud of all you other dads that have gone through the same thing, stayed calm, and made the right decisions in a timely manner! You guys rule so much. Additionally I was vague on my “baby monitor going off” statement. I really just meant I woke up to the first initial noise she made, but that’s because I have the volume pretty high. Like many others have said, get CPR certified, learn basic life saving skills, have a back up non-WiFi baby monitor and always support your wife and give her the confidence she might need if this happens when you’re not around. submitted by /u/PFD01 to r/daddit [link] [comments]

Privacy policy?
I’ve been a happy user of cubo for something like two years now… But with the latest update of the app, the app appears to be bricked. There’s a new privacy policy; but clicking accept just says that’s an unknown error occurred… and of course you can’t use the app as a result. Help! CuboAI floor stand options
I have the wall mount, which is positioned in my room, and bub is now getting to the point where I'd like to start using the cot for day sleeps to help the future transition. I can't buy the floor stand separately. Has anyone found a successful alternative? submitted by /u/allthelighttouches to r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu [link] [comments]

Baby monitor recommendations 2 cameras
Hello, We are expecting our second and are looking for recommendations for good baby monitors. We currently have a v tech and find the image to constantly become grainy and disconnect often but we love that we have flexibility with being able to have it connect to our phones via wifi or without wifi via monitor connection. We need to purchase another camera and have been recommended the tweety cam (no phone capability) and the CuboAi (wifi only). Did people have other recommendations of cameras they’ve liked that have the option for both? submitted by /u/E-365 to r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu [link] [comments]

Monitor Help - Owlet Vs CuboAi Vs Eufy E21 (or other options)
Help me, I'm drowning! Looking for some actual real world advice on Baby Monitors as the reviews are so polarising & I've been agonising over this for way too long now & need to pull the trigger and buy something. Looking at the: Owlet Cam 2 (with or without the Sock) CuboAi (with or without the Sensor) Eufy E21 (with or without the additional Sock) So these my concerns from reading the reviews, if anyone can comment on this and give any feedback it would be really helpful. Eufy: App not so great A lot of features don't work without using the sock (sleep tracking, etc) Comes with the Parent Monitor screen. Doesn't come in a bundle with the sock, would be an additional purchase. Owlet Camera is glitchy, not great quality, disconnects a lot Inconsistent temperature, unreliable readings. Lag on the app. CuboAi Frustrating subscription to access the features that were originally free. Sensor Pad gives a lot of false information, can give reading when the baby isn't in bed. Camera has good features, such as face covering, roll-over, etc. I have also looked at the Sense-U brand, but the fact the Camera doesn't do room temp is off putting, so I took the brand from the list of potentials. Another options we have considered is just a Eufy indoor camera as we already have the Eufy HomeBase 3 for our outdoor security system & it something like the E30 or some of the Pan & Tilt cameras have AI crying detection features. Then we could just by a room temperature monitor. Even if we do some with one of these other monitors, I might still get a Eufy indoor camera anyway as a backup. Other brands in consideration: Lolipop & Nanit... submitted by /u/Camkb to r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu [link] [comments]

Nanit vs CuboAI
Hello! I am a FTM looking to purchase a baby monitor and feeling extremely overwhelmed by all the options available. Currently trying to decide between the CuboAI and Nanit. I am interested in a monitor that will let me know when baby has rolled over and if their face is covered (which CuboAi is known for). However I like the fact that the Nanit has an in built night light and white noise. Interested to know everyone’s thoughts on these monitors and which they prefer ? Also which one has better camera quality. Thank you! submitted by /u/emeraldnite_22 to r/BabyBumps [link] [comments]

CuboAI plus baby monitor with sensor pad
We went with the Cubo AI plus for our choice of baby monitor, I work in IT, so naturally, gadgets, but it also had to be easy enough for my wife to figure out and use. I'll start with the good, it honestly has some great features, snap shots of the days moments to catch some of those random moments (not that we have any yet as shes barely a week old), face detection for when she rolls over or someone gets in the way of the camera to change a diaper. The camera quality both in normal and night vision is great, recordings are clear and easy to use etc. It's the sensor pad thats the problem. Honestly, for our baby, our crib is huge! We wanted something that would grow with her, so really, its about 8 times bigger than it needs to be, this is fine, the issue here is that the sensor for breathing sends constant alerts that shes not breathing, and the alerts are buggy. It really becomes anxiety inducing. If you go down the route of this camera, and you have anxiety, are over protective (be honest with yourself here), I would strongly recommend not getting the sensor pad with it, at least until your child is maybe 6+ months old, at which point, I think its value is probably gone. One recommendation I would suggest, if you suffer from brown outs or similar power outages where you live, or move your crib around, get a power bank and plug it into that, then plug the power bank into the wall, this will serve as essentially a UPS for the camera, and perhaps give you piece of mind. One thing that does suck about it is that it comes with a 1 year subscription, this starts as soon as you setup the camera. So if you're like me, and prepare things early (like 4 months early), when you set the camera up and get the apps installed and software updated, kiss that 4 months of your sub good bye. But to be blunt, if you splash out on this camera, chances are you're thinking of your baby more than your wallet, so this isn't a huge issue. I just wanted to share some of my experiences with it so far in hopes someone will find it useful. submitted by /u/Stegles to r/NewParents [link] [comments]

CuboAi - to sensor pad, or not to sensor pad??
First time mum here & 10 weeks until our little boy is due to arrive. One of the last big ticket items that we need to purchase is a baby monitor. Everyone raves about the CuboAi - however, what’s everyone’s thoughts on the sensor pad? Is it worth it? With the price difference quite minimal I’m wondering if it serves its purpose, or just adds unnecessary anxiety. Thoughts / experiences / feedback is welcomed! submitted by /u/amesteel to r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu [link] [comments]

Baby monitors - looking at the CuboAi Plus Smart for a techy family
Hi all, We’re just entering 20 weeks and we’re starting to get things prepared so we don’t have to rush at the last minute. For baby monitors I’m looking at the CuboAi Plus Smart Baby Monitor as mentioned above but I wanted some real world feedback. Has anyone used it? What are your thoughts? Is it better than others you’ve used? Are there any major drawbacks? I’ve read the night light is a bit weak but that’s not a deal breaker. Does it connect to a wifi network or direct peer to peer with a phone? Does it require any other hardware? Does it record also? On the more tech side, can the rtsp stream be subscribed to or viewed by other viewers or does their software use a proprietary protocol or pre shared encryption key? Does it support any other smart home integration? Is it portable if we were to go to a friends place and leave our baby on the bed asleep and watch her on it? Ie internal battery? I already run my own internal video system for our dogs, it would be nice to integrate this to it also but I don’t like my chances. Any feedback would be appreciated.
