Two muzzles, a sock to mimic a happy hoodie, a man to hold him, and it's STILL a nightmare process. But it keeps everyone safe. He's my precious work-in-progress. He has some behavior issues due to abuse in his previous home. Doing his nails turns him from Dr. Jekyl to Mr. Hyde. He's too unsafe to have a groomer do it. Bonus, his nails grow very fast and he's great at sharpening them as he walks around. Thankfully once I put the dremmel down and take everything off, he's back to his baby boy self. I got my nails redone done this weekend and I usually have longer nails also. I work as an engineer in a very male dominated field 🙃 one of the only women in the office is the supply chain manager. Today I went to her to ask her for her advice on something and she literally says this about my nails. "People having long pointy nails disgusts me to almost puking" and I tried to laugh it off and be like haha well mine are almond. She responds "They are still too pointy. I need some help. So I’ve been biting my nails for… well for as long as I can remember. I recently stopped and wanted to get my nails done professionally. I went to a nail artist and I can’t tell if she is in the wrong if it’s my fucked up fingers fault. My nails are damaged and are very fragile. They are short and shaped weird. I will attach some photos of the 3 times she did my nails.. the first time I asked for French and they were gel. You can see my nail through the gel nail. They were too long and popped off within 4 days. The second and third set are acrylic which stayed on longer but I just feel like some of my nails are crooked and shaped funny. I have an appointment with another nail tech in a few weeks but are they just going to come out this way with a different person because my nails are fucked up? Please let me know what you think. These things aint cheap EDIT 1 - Ok so 1. I now know to buy the outer casing. thanks. 2. She buys her own things - so entirely up to her to use her stuff her way. 3. "The Wife" is meant to convey love for her not someone I put up with and put on blast here online because she "costs me money" Seriously, some people are wound too tight! Lighten up! Edit 2 My wife got a huge kick out of this post. Lots of funny jokes to be had here. We Also learned to replace the casing instead of the whole key fob. Thanks for saving us some dough! She just wanted you all to know she does use her fingers, not her nails. she doesn't even keep long nails, it was just my imagination. I had to walk out of a Greggs (Ey up!) because the girl behind the counter was touching food and had inch-long acrylic nails. I was like "Nope!" and left. That is revolting. There are COUNTLESS studies that show how unhygienic fake nails are. You should not be allowed to work with food and have fake nails. I HATE fake nails. Like with a passion. Every time I see someone with them in a video I swipe away because it never looks good, just cheap. I physically cringe at the sound of people tapping shit with their nails. Also when did that become a thing?!? "Oh here is the lipstick I am using, let me tap it forty times with my disgusting, over grown, poo-caked, Frito-nails while waving it in front of the camera like you're a fucking cat." I personally think fake nails are the single tackiest thing I have ever seen. I see women with these long claws and I am like "how do you do anything? Like how do you cook, work or wipe your ass?" We can all agree that the single greatest tool on the face of the planet is the human hand....and YET, some people pay a person regularly to limit its use. I had a woman ask me once to pull her debit card out of a gas ATM due to her nails. I have gotten my nails done twice in my life and one was for my wedding...I just had them paint my natural nails. It looked great and because they are real they bend and move and can be properly cleaned. Sorry, but I just missed out on a sausage roll and had to vent. If y'all like nails then great. You do you. Back when I was doing pilates/yoga classes at Equinox every week I noticed that ALL the girlies in the class always had perfect nails. I'm wondering how you all manage to do it. Is it just that you're going to the nail salon all the time? Are you getting gel or regular? Is it press-ons? I don't love doing my nails at home since it never turns out the way it does at the salon. What I also don't understand is that I usually don't go to the nail salon until I'm in a weird transition phase with my nails; they're chipping or if it's gel, they've grown out too much.
