RE:How are you guys putting your 18-19 month olds to sleep for bed and for nap(s)?
Nap: diaper change and placed in the crib with stuffed animals and some fabric books (we're in the process of transitioning naps to the twin bed) Bed: bath depending on the day, nighttime diaper, jammies, book, song, placed in the twin bed (he's been in a twin bed at night since December) We have a humidifier and an air purifier that we run at night.

RE:Is it normal for baby to toss and turn and cry in their sleep when they are sick?
Perfectly normal. You could try putting a rolled up towel underneath her crib mattress where her head is to help with the nasal congestion. Also, a cool mist humidifier and an air purifier make the world of a difference for bedtime. Hope she feels better soon! ❤️

air purifier and humidifier combo - does the 2-in-1 actually work or do you get less of both
the combo unit question makes practical sense — why run two devices when one might handle both. the honest answer is more nuanced than the product listings suggest and depends almost entirely on the specific room size and use case. what 2-in-1 combo units genuinely deliver combo units are real products that do both functions — air filtration and humidity addition — in a single enclosure. for small rooms, bedrooms, or anyone with limited space they're a genuine practical option. Levoit makes combo units in the $80-150 range that deliver adequate performance for both functions in spaces under roughly 300 square feet. for small-room daily use they're more convenient than managing two separate devices with two separate cords, two separate filter schedules, and two footprints on the floor. where combo units fall short for more demanding situations the filtration capacity in a combo unit is typically lower than a dedicated air purifier at the same price point. the humidifier tank is smaller than a dedicated humidifier. both functions are compromised to fit one enclosure at one price. for anyone dealing with serious allergy symptoms, wildfire smoke, or needing meaningful coverage in a medium to large room a dedicated air purifier performs better than the filtration half of a combo unit at the same spend. the performance gap widens as room size increases. the maintenance reality nobody explains before purchase combo units require two separate maintenance routines running simultaneously — filter replacement on the air purifier side and tank cleaning on the humidifier side. a humidifier tank that isn't cleaned weekly can grow mold and bacteria inside the unit — which means the device meant to improve air quality starts degrading it if the cleaning routine slips. for anyone who already finds one maintenance task easy to postpone the combo unit doubles what needs attention. combo unit owner — does it handle both jobs adequately in daily use or do you wish you'd bought separately? submitted by /u/Effective-Heart28 to r/SmartTechChoices [link] [comments]

Is a 2-in-1 Air Purifier/Humidifier Worth It, or Are Separate Devices Better?
I’m choosing between two setups for a 20 m² room: Daikin MCK70ZW 2-in-1 air purifier + evaporative humidifier CADR: 375 m³/h Room area: 48 m² / 96 m² depending on the standard Humidification: up to 700 ml/h Water tank: 3.4L Noise: 18–54 dB Technology: Twin Streamer + HEPA + deodorizing catalyst or Daikin MC80Z + a separate evaporative humidifier Air purifier only CADR: 480 m³/h Room area: 62 m² / 124 m² depending on the standard Noise: 19–55 dB Technology: Twin Streamer + HEPA + deodorizing catalyst For the separate humidifier I’m considering something like Philips HU5710/03 or MiJia Smart Evaporative Humidifier Pro. These have larger tanks around 4.5–5L and humidification performance around 400–600 ml/h. My room size is not the main concern, because both Daikin models should be enough for 20 m². My doubts are more about real-life convenience and long-term use. MCK70ZW is attractive because it is one device, but I’m worried about the smaller 3.4L tank, frequent refilling, cleaning the tank/tray/humidifying parts, and the lack of exact humidity target control such as 45% or 50%. It also has lower CADR than the MC80Z. MC80Z seems stronger as a pure air purifier, especially for smoke and odors, but it means buying a second device, using more space, having another source of noise, and paying extra for a separate humidifier. In practice, which setup would you choose: an all-in-one purifier/humidifier like the MCK70ZW, or a stronger standalone purifier like the MC80Z paired with a separate evaporative humidifier? Residence: Europe Area: 20m² (215ft²). Filtration: All (Allergies, VOC's, etc), but main focus is hookah smoke and its odors Budget: ~$1K submitted by /u/BreakOwning to r/AirPurifiers [link] [comments]

Air purifier and humidifier
Hi there I have got to my wits end with not being able to breath at night. Just had a sleepless night meaning I’m missing a presentation at work. Got all the nasal sprays. Trying to treat my GERD as well in case that’s it. Tried the nasal washes too but I don’t know if that’s helping. I was looking into purifiers/ humidifier. The price ranges vary a lot. Do they help? Can you recommend one? Is it worth spending more money? I will wack up to £300 on my credit card and think about it later because I just need some relief. submitted by /u/Bunty-mushroom to r/Sinusitis [link] [comments]

2in1 air purifier + humidifier combo or air purifier and humidifier separately?
Can't decide which combo to get: Daikin MCK70ZW - 2in1 air purifier and humidifier Daikin MC80Z + some humidifier like Philips HU5710/03 or MiJia Smart Evaporative Humidifier Pro Both Daikin cost $1k and Philips/MiJia around $100-150 I understand that the Daikin MCK70ZW will easily cover my room size, so coverage itself is not really my concern. The main reason I still hesitate is the water tank. Its capacity is only 3.4L, while some separate humidifiers like Philips or MiJia have 4.5 to 5L tanks. I am worried that with the Daikin I may need to refill the tank too often, especially in dry conditions during the heating season. I am also not sure how convenient it will be to keep refilling it regularly and cleaning the water tank and humidifying parts every week. Another thing that makes me hesitate is that the MCK70ZW has about 100 CADR less than the Daikin MC80Z. So on one hand the MCK70ZW gives me an all in one solution with purification and humidification, but on the other hand the MC80Z seems stronger as a pure air purifier. I am also a bit disappointed that the MCK70ZW does not seem to allow setting an exact target humidity percentage for automatic control. As far as I understand, it only offers low, standard, and high humidification levels instead of letting you maintain a precise humidity level such as 45% or 50%. What do you think is the better choice in practice? Would you still go for the MCK70ZW for the convenience of having everything in one unit, or is it more reasonable to buy the MC80Z and pair it with a separate humidifier with a larger tank? Residence: Europe Area: 25m² (270ft²). Filtration: All (Allergies, VOC's, etc), but main focus is hookah smoke and its odors Budget: ~$1K submitted by /u/BreakOwning to r/Appliances [link] [comments]

Need advice buying top tier air purifier to get rid of hookah smoke and odors
Your country of residence: Europe. Each room or area's volume, in cubic feet or cubic meters. (You need at least one purifier per room or area.): 30 m² (323 ft²). Your filtration needs: e.g., pollen, dust, cigarette smoke, VOCs, cooking odors.: The main goal is to get rid of hookah smoke and odors. Startup budget.: $1-1.5k. Yearly budget (electricity + filters).: $300 I guess. My main goal is to remove hookah smoke and odors from my apartment - 30 m² (323 ft²). as quickly and effectively as possible, prevent the smell from spreading to other rooms, and, of course, just clean the air of dust and other pollutants. As I understood that the main factors for this are a high CADR and a good carbon filter? I’ve spent a lot of time researching different models and have narrowed it down to Daikin and Sharp, specifically these models: Daikin MC80Z - around $900 SHARP KI-TX100EU-W - around $1500 I’m not sure if I should pay extra for Sharp or stick with Daikin. Maybe you could suggest some other interesting models? AlsoI like the ionization feature in an air purifier because it makes the air feel fresher and gives it a pleasant smell. Humidification isn't a necessary factor, because I plan to buy a humidifier separately submitted by /u/BreakOwning to r/AirPurifiers [link] [comments]

How to deal with Dust(Hinjewadi)
I moved to Pune about three and a half years ago. I stayed in Kharadi for the first year, and for the last two and a half years I’ve been living in Hinjawadi. One thing that constantly bothers me is the amount of dust inside my flat. Almost every other day, everything gets covered in a layer of dust; my curtains, clothes, laptop, furniture, basically all my belongings. It feels like no matter how often I clean, the dust just keeps coming back. I’ve been suggested to get a HEPA air purifier, but they’re quite expensive. Someone also mentioned dust filters for windows, but I haven’t been able to find anything like that. How do you guys deal with this level of dust in Pune flats? And would a humidifier help in any way? 🤔 submitted by /u/adi_d18 to r/pune [link] [comments]

Humidifier/air purifier recommendation request
Hi! I am looking for a long lasting and high quality humidifier/air purifier for a 1300 sq ft apartment. I currently am using one from Amazon and I don’t think it does much. I have super dry skin & seasonal allergies so if there is one product that works for humidity & getting allergens out of the air, that would be amazing! I looked at the Excel sheet and got overwhelmed so if someone could direct me to a specific product or brand, that would be wonderful! submitted by /u/AlmostNamedPotato to r/Humidifiers [link] [comments]

Best recommendation for air purifier + humidifier?
I’m located in the U.S. Suburban town, no major environmental exposures. My house is 1040 square feet with 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, eat-in kitchen, and living room. I don’t have exact dimensions of each room, but I’m primarily looking to have this run in my master bedroom, as that’s where my dog sleeps 80-90% of the day. The master I believe is around 140-200 sq feet. My boy has a nasal tumor & sneezes all day long, so I’m trying to cut down on the air pollutants and make it as comfortable as possible for him. Both him & his sister are shedding like crazy, so there’s constantly dog hair flying around as well. I also suffer from allergies & migraines. My house has poor insulation & the thermostats are screaming all day everyday that the rooms have low humidity. Which is why I was hoping to do an air purifier + humidifier combo. I could do separate units if I absolutely have to, but my house is small so these machines will take up a lot of unavailable space, and I also don’t have a lot of places I could plug in two separate units. My house is 100% electric with electric baseboard and central AC. There is no furnace, no air filters. I tried a Coway a couple years ago and I know everyone raves about them but I didn’t feel any difference in the air from it & I ended up returning it. Do you have to have one in every single room in the house for them to effectively work, or can I just focus on the one room? Preferably under $500 for one, or two separate air purifier + humidifier. submitted by /u/LizzieLifts2707 to r/AirPurifiers [link] [comments]

Humidifier + Air Purifier recommendations for SE Queensland home? Constant dry throat & getting sick 😭
Hi everyone, looking for some real life recommendations from people living in South East Queensland. Ever since we moved here we have been getting sick a lot and our throats feel constantly dry specially me and my toddler. Not sure if its daycare germs, dust, aircon or our robo vacuum kicking stuff into the air. We live in a 3 bedroom house (about 228 m² land size, typical modern layout, open living/dining/kitchen area). I’m thinking of investing in: • a good air purifier • and possibly a humidifier for the main living area Or maybe a combo? Questions: • Are humidifiers actually useful in SE QLD climate or overkill? • Any specific brands/models that worked well for dust, dry throat, or kids? • Is it better to get a 2-in-1 purifier + humidifier or separate units? • Anything I should avoid (mold issues, maintenance nightmares, etc.)? Would really appreciate recommendations from people who’ve actually used them in homes 🙏 submitted by /u/Capable_Attention92 to r/AskAnAustralian [link] [comments]

Using a humidifier and air purfier at the same time?
I have a Shark HP102 air purifier. I love it because it has a "smart sensor" that when on the auto setting, will detect impurities in the air and will auto adjust it's power settings. It even has a display that will show what "percentage" the air is clean. My question is that when I run my humidifier, which is across the room, maybe 12 feet or more away, the humidifier starts to go crazy, even dipping down into 50% clean air on the sensor. Is this detecting the water in the air as an impurity? It it filtering out this humidity? Or are their impurities in my tap water, that once airborn, are being detected by the air purifer? If it's just detecting the humidity as a false positive, but the humitidy doesn't effect the filter, then I can just shut off "auto" and run it manualy at a low setting. If it's "filtering" out the humitiy itself, then I wouldn't want to run them both. If it is filtering out the impurities that are now in the air, then I definitly DO what to run them both simultaneously, and could even try to prefilter the water or use distilled water. Air purifier, vaccume or humidifier?
Hi I just moved to NYC, USA. The dry air is making it hard for me to breath. I have 2 cats also and their litter box is inside the room. And a little bit of the litter odor remains. So am confused about what to buy. As am just starting out i can't buy everything all at once. Maybe i can buy the air purifier and humidifier together if its budget friendly. Or the humidifier and maybe a hepa vaccume? Am very confused please suggest on what to do. For the info i have bad allergies (not cat allergy but very bad cold and dust allergy), sinus etc. submitted by /u/BigArmy1884 to r/AirPurifiers [link] [comments]

Straight Up - I'm Losing My Mind
I've been to our vet at LEAST ten times about this issue and I'm completely at a loss. We got our kitten in July and since coming to our home, he has been sneezing and snotting NON STOP. Our house is covered in boogers and I don't know what to do. After testing him for viruses, it's evident he's allergic to something - we just don't know what. I've gone through 5 different litters, invested in a high-quality air filter and air purifier, tried different foods (currently on Royal Canin's wet Kitten food). Is there anything we may be overlooking? EDIT: for further context, we don’t use candles or anything scented in our home. Use mild detergents and avoid perfume. The poor guy’s eyes itch so I give him mini face massages which he LOVES. He’s been on multiple antibiotics and they don’t do anything. EDIT #2: thank you for all the responses! I really didn't expect this. To answer some common questions/suggestions: 1. He's a ten month old neutered devon rex. 2. Ekko and his sister have an Instagram account with more pictures of the gremlins: keepingupwiththedevons 3. He has been taking Viralys for the last three months or so - no changes 4. He's been on Doxycyline x3, Clavaseptin, given Tobradex eye drops and a shot of diphenhydramine - none of which have helped. Doxycyline worked while he was on it but as soon as we stopped, symptoms returned. 5. We've been going to our current vet because he is MUCH cheaper than those in our area. Treatments that cost $1,200 in Toronto cost about $500 about an hour drive away. After reading everyone's comments, I will definitely be taking him to a cat specialist next. 6. I suspected nasal polyps months ago but our vet does not perform this and he needed an ultrasound done for his heart murmur first. Now that the ultrasound's been done and the murmur isn't serious, we'll schedule an appointment to check him for polyps at another clinic. 7. He started showing symptoms the moment we brought him home so unfortunately he isn't insured. I'm trying to work through a process of elimination for the most to least expensive treatments but will absolutely work through the list to the end if we don't find a solution. 8. He pees himself in his sleep - something another commenter brought up from my post history. Didn't think these two were related but who knows! May not be a coincidence. 9. We have a humidifier and air purifier at home. We've also recently change the air filters but have seen no change in his symptoms. EDIT #3: After reading everyone's comments, we took him to the vet for a chest x-ray. He has mild asthma and may have a secondary viral infection as a result. He can't take steroids due to his heart condition so he now has a puffer and has been prescribed doxycicline to knock out any potential bacteria in his lungs. The vet thinks everything should clear up in about a month. If it doesn't, we're going to see if the inhaler + prescribed allergy meds help. submitted by /u/gholdist to r/cats [link] [comments]

My Dyson air purifier + humidifier not showing AQ data after power outage — only a green line?
I had a power outage at home recently, and ever since then my Dyson air purifier/humidifier has stopped displaying the air-quality data on the screen. Instead of the usual numbers and graphs, it only shows a single green line. Has anyone run into this before? Is there a way to reset it or get the AQ readings back? I’ve already tried unplugging it for a few minutes, but no change. Any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! submitted by /u/Reisven to r/dyson [link] [comments]

Best humidifier WITH air purifier?
I looked through the database list in top post but didn't see many options vs what seem to be at best buy, target, and lowes. My old humidifer seemed to make me sick this past winter and would like a good quality new one that also is a purifier. I just need it for 1 room (the bedroom I sleep in) and budget would prefer to be below $300 but depends on options. Any suggestions? https://www.target.com/p/r-w-flame-2-in-1-air-purifier-humidifier-h13-hepa-filter-ultrasonic-mist-5-levels-negative-ions-smart-safety/-/A-1003098966?TCID=OGS&AFID=google&CPNG=Home%2BImprovement+-+Target+Plus&adgroup=85-0&lnm=d30042528f072ba8a22b19c81250437cd47a2f30330f0ed03551c4efdaf3409e I was looking at this but also never heard of the brand and before I spend that much on a random brand I would like to hear options. submitted by /u/eviltissue to r/Humidifiers [link] [comments]

Can we get a thread going of all your favorite parrot care products and/or suppliers? Im talking air purifiers, humidifiers, food bowls, flight suits, perches & stands, carriers, etc.
I end up never buying stuff we need because im so worried about the item not being safe or good enough for the baby and i get so overwhelmed looking at all the options 😵💫 I’ve had him for 1.5 yrs now and still feel this way.. i can only imagine how helpful a one-stop shop like this would be for new owners Gremlin photodump for birb tax purposes only submitted by /u/Kimihawk to r/parrots [link] [comments]

AITA for having a complete meltdown when husband gifted me a brand new gaming system
So I want to start off with this present economy is hard as fuck. Pre-pandemic we were able to live off a full time and part time on our own, now I can’t even afford my half of the rent. We’ve been living off credit cards for a while now and we always pay the minimum, we are paying off multiple medical bills from during the pandemic, we are drowning in debt to be honest… …which brings me to the day I came home from work. I’ve been driving off the gas light for two days straight. I can’t even afford gas right now and my husband took my car the night prior to go buy some milk, and the next morning that gas light was still on… I’ve never been the type of expect things without asking, but I haven’t asked him in a while for gas so I don’t know if he realized I needed gas? …but anyways, I came home and saw a brand new game on the kitchen table. The funny thing is I always comment “I can’t wait to be able to afford a new gaming system. I would love to play that game” but I know that in the future I hope we can buy it. So my priorities are focused on making sure the house is good. I was so upset about a $60 game and I told my husband “WHY WOULD YOU THROW $60 ON A GAME I CANT EVEN PLAY RIGHT NOW? I’m literally driving off the gas light and you bought a video game?!” I automatically saw the change in energy and he was visibly upset. He said he would return it. I told him that money can go towards groceries please. After hold my tears back from that… Then I walk into the bedroom and, I just started crying. Fully crying. Like eyes are red, I’m about to pass out, I saw a brand new boxed PS5 system on our bed. I ran back to the kitchen and said “NOT JUST $60 BUT $600 WHEN YOURE OBLIVIOUS TO THE FINANCES IN THE HOUSE?! WE ARE IN SO MUCH DEBT. WHY?!” And again, husband was just silent and upset with me… After explaining that I was heartbroken that he would go buy a gaming system without telling me than put gas in my car that transports our child everywhere, he said he would return it tomorrow. What upsets me is I’m the person who does the budgeting in the house. The doctors appointments. The making sure things are straight….so I’m REALLY stressed almost all the time. And I’m also a full time student while working a full time job and a parent to a toddler… Husband works full time also and takes over when I need to do homework… AITA for getting upset for my husband trying to surprise me with a brand new PS5 when I can’t even afford gas or groceries right now? EDIT: I’m sorry for not responding as quick as needed. I’ve been busy with family. I have responded to a few comments that have asked for more info and have been asked to leave more information in this post for clarification so I will add. 1: We have personal accounts but we also have one joint account for household items which are for rent, daycare, car insurance, internet, light and gas, and renters insurance. 2: Husband purchased the PS5 with a Best Buy credit card he opened last month when we bought an emergency air purifier/humidifier for the apartment due to dry air. The winter sucks and we’ve been having constant nosebleeds. This is where my questioning comes from. I asked him if he would rather pay $30-40-50 on a monthly payment towards a PS5 or would he rather give me the money to go to target (which he doesn’t do lol) so I can buy the things we need to eat for the week. He didn’t grasp this. Like utterly clueless until I repeated myself 5 times. 🙃 3: I didn’t ask my husband to fill my tank or help me fill my tank because I really made the mistake of assuming he would offer to help when he went to buy the milk at 9pm. The next morning, as I turned the car on I saw the light still on and I had already mentally told myself that I would ask after work. “Like hey honey I’m sorry but can you spot me $10 for gas I’m negatives right now sorry” but I came home to the PS5 game and system and it tipped me over the bridge. 4: we are married, we have one toddler, we are not separated. 5: we have monthly budget meetings but I’m do the math and he sits there watching me do the math. So I’ll crunch numbers and be like “okay, please throw this much into the household account so our household items are covered.” And he does it. Whatever is left is for our personal debts like medical or credit cards. 6: We are both full time employees. I am the one who is taking online full time courses after work while husband helps put our toddler to sleep. I’m knocking out at 11pm - 12am after homework. 7: This economy sucks and I really appreciate everyone who sees it’s been super stressful. I do feel like I manage almost everything in the house, and I needed to ask if I was the asshole because I feel bad I hurt his “good intentions” but like bro, we don’t even have for gas/groceries 🥲 8: PS5 and game has been returned. So glad we do not have an extra monthly payment on something we don’t need. 9: I apologized guys. I thanked him for the gesture. submitted by /u/devastatedGamer to r/AmItheAsshole [link] [comments]

Any advice for Kona who is having sneezing fits? ~5/day & lasts ~20 mins. Lab work normal, completed course of antibiotics, cleaned cage, use humidifier and air purifier. Nothing is helping. Poor guy is miserable.
