So I keep seeing ACV everywhere lately especially on Instagram. It feels like every other celebrity is suddenly talking about ACV tablets for weight loss and “craving control.” But honestly… in my personal experience, it didn’t really do anything. Definitely didn’t help with cravings the way people claim. So now I’m wondering is ACV actually supposed to work, or is this just another marketing trend that got hyped up by influencers? I've always used apple cider vinegar to catch fruit flies, but it's frustrating seeing so many just chilling on the surfaces around it. I’m not sure if I’m late to this but oh my god. This may be one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time. I hate it, I love it, I’m angry, I’m sad. It’s giving the “Inventing Anna” energy but with much higher stakes. A fake cure to cancer that probably killed a lot of people and is still in line with the fake “cures” we see today for medically curable stuff. It’s so fascinating and infuriating at the same time. I love this show, I hate this happened. I love it’s being put out there. I know it's a real person, I know the adaptation is filled with fiction I know very well I've written a docu-fiction before. But just because she passed doesn't mean I can't criticize her or say she was wrong. I'll explain: I lost two family members like this, and I'm sure it will probably happen again and there's nothing I can do about it. We're not a cult, we're just a big Muslim arabic african family (this isn't a jab at my religion but it was used as a means so I mentioned it) My oldest uncle out of 5, has called and certified himself to be somewhat of an alternative medicine doctor, charging loads of money to treat cancer patients, did it work? Allegedly. If these people healed was it because of him? Not sure. But people flew from all over to be treated by him, so he was perceived as a miracle worker (not humbly) His equivalent in the show was definitely Alma who Millie went to in Mexico. All fine, until my oldest aunt got breast cancer. The sweetest most innocent harmless lady, who faced many sorrows and her kids barely were with her. But guess who was, my uncle. He pulled her out of the hospital and into the family house where he assigned her nurses to watch over her 'treatment' of juices and herbal mixtures and specific body massages that only he knew. The cancer spread naturally, she was in pain, but she listened to her brother, and so the half my aunts and uncles. My mom and one of my uncles' wife ,decided they could watch no more and started looking for hospitals out of their own pockets. All hell broke loose, The uncle (he's blind, allegedly) came and ordered the gathering of everyone. I was young and all the insults directed to my mom went over my head, but he said many. He, at first came calm and little by little descended to madness, how they were killing his sister and wishing her harm, that even the scans to see where the cancer has spread was hindering the 'treatment', and it almost broke the family. My aunt died, at home, in pain, in continuous agony. And this guy, blamed her. And then in a more horrible longer time, my grandmother too. So to come around to my point, He, and all his loyal brainwashed minions that have unvaccinated children, say the exact same sentences as Millie did, as her arrogant mentor did. Word by word, expression by expression, sprinkling misinformed Islamic instructions. They are deaf and determined and you'd believe yourself to be wrong if you spoke to them. Millie lied to herself, and others, that her cancer was healed, kept the treatment when she knew her hand was getting worse. And even while knowing that forced her mom into it. Stubbornly, obstinately, as if she was the god and creater, denied all obvious signs. At least in the show she apologized and accepted her fate, even if she cost her father his love and his daughter, but it's something. Will my uncle apologize? Does he know it doesn't work? I hope to god he's delusional and really believes it. Otherwise he killed them : my aunt, my grandma, his old friend, and many more. I just bought organic Apple Cider Vinegar just for the heck of it. I have a few sips here and there. I pour maybe a "shot" sized amount in a cup and drink it. I feel like I'm in the 1800's Wild West and am being sold some potion. That being said I don't mind drinking it and I like the taste in small sips. Hey everyone! I've always had problematic oily acne-prone scarred skin. I haven't had major skin issues in the last few years until switching my birth control a little over a year ago. It seemed like I was breaking out a lot more, particularly around my chin. I tend to keep my skincare pretty simple (wash, serum, face oil, sunscreen) but was considering going back on stridex face pads or acne medication. I had been using acv on my scalp and hair to help break down oil and product build-up and was curious to see if it helped with acne. The research seemed like it was worth a try and my skin was already having issues, so why not? Let me tell you, my skin has never looked better! I used a diluted 1 part vinegar to 5 parts water solution to swipe on my face as a toner with a cotton ball, let dry for 30 sec., then rinse off and continue my routine. Since starting, I have only had ONE pimple on my chin. My skin looks fantastic and I can only attribute it to the acv. I know this post is probably controversial in some way, but it really has worked for me and I wanted to share a positive experience with it. I saw some complaints online about it making skin issues worse for people, but it was a great fit for me! I think using a super-diluted "recipe" for the toning is the key in not drying my skin out or upsetting it. I was using it with my Snake Juice months ago but took it out when Cole took it out. A few weeks ago I was reminded of ACV being crazy good for getting rid of hunger. I re-added it to my snake juice but I sip that so it wasnt overly obvious. I was struggling on a fast a few days ago and remembered ACV n decided to slam back 3 tablespoons mixed with lots of water. I did it again today and it made fasting a breeze. My gut really seems to react to it positively. I know its hard on teeth so I make sure to use lots of water and I'll get a straw - as suggested. This occurred within the past 24 hours and could be subtitled, Adventures in Health: a Cautionary Tale So I've had Apple Cider Vinegar on the edge of my radar for awhile, but never looked into it very deeply. My wife recently picked up a bottle of it to help with some gastric issues my son was having, but only used a teaspoon or so out of it so it was just sitting on the kitchen counter. Flash forward to a little while ago when I was closing up the house for bed and noticed it. I need to give that a try I mused, then hopped on my phone and did a quick search on recommended methods. Yadda, yadda, so many parts per ounces of water... add a pinch and dash of so and so...in the words of Sweet Brown, "Ain't nobody got time for that." So I grabbed a Dixie cup and poured two fingers. Not being a total fool, I took a preparatory sip and although it had a bite, it didn't seem too bad. I did the next logical thing that people who never read directions fully tend to do...pinched my nose and tipped that sucker back. At first, I just got a little bit of the Holy Ghost and did the shimmy shakes, but they passed after a few seconds and I felt okay aside from the extremely pungent aftertaste. Hey, you remember those science fair volcanos you used to make in elementary school that you fill with baking soda and food coloring, then at the last possible second, douse with a cup of vinegar before running for cover as the bubbling ooze endlessly pours from the top? That's a really useful metaphor for my story because my baking soda stomach decided that it didn't appreciate an apple cider vinegar bath and, well, I'll spare you the details except to say that the leftover pizza I ate for lunch then wished that I hadn't was no longer an issue for my digestive system. Unfortunately, the myriad of snacks and tonight's dinner was blocking its path down the mountain, but the geyser of apple cider vinegar erupting up my esophagus convinced everything else in my stomach that life would be better down the metaphorical mountain too. The edges of my vision went dark and I saw a tunnel of light which I doggy paddled along the ether to reach, which transported me to a place made of light. A figure approached out of the mist and I immediately recognized him as Jesus. He knelt and gently took me by the hand and slapped the back of my head and said, "What were you thinking?" Then everything started to fade. I became acutely aware of the smell of sulphur and a rising burning sensation in my body, but as my vision cleared I realized that I hadn't indeed been catapulted into the lower reaches of Heck (reserved for the headstrong and hasty), but I was just feeling the after effect of my stomach's sudden rebellion. I'm currently able to walk again, although my stomach is a bit jumpy and the back of my throats feels like it's been run over a cheese grater.
