AITA for telling my grandma to stop complaining about her health if she refuses to make changes?
29F have been helping my grandma out with finances as shes on low income and lives in a geared to income complex. Shes 68 years old and has a plethora of issues like early stage cirrhosis, diabetes type 2, COPD, and severe arthritis and other gastrointestinal issues along with being obese. My thing is, she eats \*terribly\*. Everyday, she wakes up in pain, which is valid. I see her suffer. But I also NEVER see her change her dietary needs. I have given her ideas that are affordable and I offered to cover the difference of a special diet. She flat out ignores me and jumps to a different topic or says no. I tell her, lets see a doctor and she says no. She will drink her apple cider vinegar drink with lemon once and thinks thats a magic cure. Then she won't do it again for months. There are no magic pills for her conditions. No cures for her cirrhosis or COPD. It always comes down to money. I calculated that she can have a healthy diet for under 200 a month, plus she can use the food bank. Shes spending more on groceries anyways. I shop the sales and am very strategic with budgeting. No instead, she only has cheese whiz, white breads, cheerios, muffins, hot dogs, grilled cheese with processed cheese. She at a whole loaf of banana bread in less than 2 days. She also ate a whole tub of ice-cream in less than 3 days. I offer to cook her healthy protein and fiber but she says no! Its complaints everyday. I offer solutions that are logical yet its ignored. I've been heavily judging her for that, its horrendous. I get it she doesn't want to be helped. Then I told her to "stop complaining if you don't want to actively change your life." She ignored the comment and has been silent. Perhaps its a hurtful thing to say, but I worry and stress about her health and shes like my mom not grandma. Everyday I have no idea if she will make it through the day or not. Im told I shouldn't try and help someone who doesn't want to he helped. Which fair. But I also hate when people complain about things that have solutions. Thats my problem. So overall, I think im the asshole because of my delivery. I feel like a dick but I have no empathy when people refuse to change. submitted by /u/Fine-Mail4400 to r/AmItheAsshole [link] [comments]

Apple cider vinegar
Question, does anyone drink ACV whilst on Reta? I used to drink a glass every morning for help with digestion, but I’m not sure if it’s a good idea since reta slows down digestion and acv gives me heart burn sometimes so I don’t want to be feeling like that all day submitted by /u/Cheap_Classic9878 to r/Retatrutide [link] [comments]

Apple Cider Vinegar is not a shto.
As I am 59 years old, I need some anti-inflammatory pills for various aches and pains. Read on the interwebs that Apple Cider Vinegar might help. Stupid move 1: Go out and buy a bottle. Stupid move 2: Do not read on the interwebs how to ingest it. Stupid move 3 - end: Take shotglass, fill shotglass 3/4, say prosit and down in 1 go. Still don't know where shotglass is. Cannot breathe for 30 seconds or more. Throat feels like 1 of GoT Dragons just blew fire for 10 minutes. Weeping coughing etc for 30 minutes. LifeTime Tip: Do Not drink ACV neat. submitted by /u/eroder2 to r/oops [link] [comments]

Apple cider vinegar pills connection
My kidney stone battle started 5 years ago. 3 years ago, I started taking apple cider vinegar pills daily along with avoiding spinach, etc. I stopped having stones. I guess in the past 6 months, I think I ran out and forgot to add it to my daily pills. Also, my urologist had said it's not been proven to prevent kidney stones. So that was kinda in my head. Well, now I'm pretty sure I have kidney stones again. I just saw a general practitioner this week and the labs point to infection. Plus, I have the same very familiar back and abdomen pain. Í really am regretting stopping taking apple cider vinegar pills now. submitted by /u/paintphotog to r/KidneyStones [link] [comments]

Apple cider vinegar
Has anyone tried apple cider vinegar pills along with their diabetes medication? I was reading that apple cider vinegar can help lower your blood sugar and help with food cravings. Has anyone tried it along with their meds? I am going to talk to my doctor about it at my next appointment before I start taking it. But wanted to see if anyone has tried it and had success with it. submitted by /u/Dog_Mom1102 to r/type2diabetes [link] [comments]

I have lost 33 pounds in last 6 months with PCOS- Ask me anything!
Hi Folks, I have lost 33 pounds in last 6 month with PCOS and hirsutism and i have never been happier. I was diagnosed with pcod when i was 13 and i'm almost 30 now so it wont be a lie to say that i've lived pcod almost all my life. I have always been an overweight person and did try every kind of diet. I did stupid liquid diets, low carb/ keto diet, salad only diet, etc etc and trust me nothing worked ever. Infact it made things worse. It was 6 months ago when i decided to fix the root cause of my weight gain i.e PCOD. I did a lot of research and had to figure things out myself since no doctor helped me. They just gave me stupid birth control pills that dont fix anything. But after working so hard, i have finally cracked the code. I'm 33 pounds down. Aiming to lose 22 pounds more in the coming months. My symptoms have also gotten better. I have less hair growth on my face and body, acne is going away, periods are slowly getting back to track (still struggling a bit) and most of all- i sleep like a baby and have no morning fatigue. Here are the key things that i did: Started eating in the correct order and amount. Reduced my simple carb intake. I always start my meals with a fiber, then go have protein and carbs in the end. And the amount also decreases with the sequence. I take 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar before my lunch and dinner. Take spearmint tea three times a day. Avoid sugar and dairy as much as i can (i wont say i have stopped it completely, i still consume these a little) Being more active (40-45 mins of strength train and 20 mins of inclined walk 5-6 times a week) Threw away all packaged and processed foods (this actually helped a lot) Take Zinc and omega 3 Eating in a calorie deficit. That's mostly it. Let me know if you'd like to know in detail about something. submitted by /u/Worldly_Explorer_304 to r/PCOS [link] [comments]

Apple Cider Vinegar Pills--Day 1
Just started taking ACV pills today. The serving size is 3 pills and it is suggested to take it with a meal. I took one first thing in the morning (I know that's not what the instructions said) just to see if there were any immediate negative side effects and my stomach began cramping. I took 2 right after lunch and everything seems fine. My goal in taking them is to curb my appetite. I will update after a week. submitted by /u/Glittering_Stage_234 to r/applecidervinegar [link] [comments]

Apple cider vinegar to prevent ticks? We use simparica trio and people say I'm poisoning my dog, but I want her protected.
My 1 and 1/2-year-old small dog just had her annual check up and in her heartworm screening she turned up positive for anaplasma. She never had any symptoms and the vet just said to make sure we keep up on her flea and tick control. I give her her pill monthly so I don't know what else I can really do except maybe give it every 28 days instead of 30 - 31. I posted a warning on a Facebook group I am in, to remind people to do their flea and tick preventive and I got many responses saying I was poisoning my dog. One suggestion was topically using apple cider vinegar. I did read that apple cider vinegar can help repel them but does not kill fleas or ticks. I'm just looking for information on whether apple cider vinegar would be a good thing to add to her routine and if there are any issues it could present regarding her, she is 10.5.pound and has hair (not fur) I have no intention of stopping her heartworm / flea tick preventive medication. We have deer pass through our yard occasionally and Lyme's is an issue here in NJ. submitted by /u/cbwb to r/AskVet [link] [comments]

Big tip: Carrot salad with coconut oil, apple cider vinegar and large amounts of probiotics
I want to share a little hack I found. Been struggling for a while, but this seems to work. Seven days of it now and my tongue is pink again, even with alcohol and lots of sugar. Which is pretty insane. Inspired by Ray Peat carrot salad Every morning: Shave 1-2 carrots lengthwise, add 2-4 tablespoons of coconut oil, and 4-5 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Open up some wide-range probiotic pills and mix them with the substance (probiotics actually give it a nice flavor). Aim for 300 billion per day. Look for something like this: Lactobacillus Acidophilus, Bifidobacterium Lactis, Bifidobacterium Breve, Lactobacillus Plantarum, Lactobacillus Rhamnosus, Lactobacillus Casei, Lactobacillus Salivarius, Lactobacillus Bulgaricus, Lactobacillus Paracasei, Lactococcus Lactis, Bifidobacterium Longum, Lactobacillus Gasseri, Bifidobacterium Bifidum, Enterococcus Faecium, Lactobacillus Reuteri, Lactobacillus Fermentum, Lactobacillus Helveticus, Lactobacillus Brevis, Saccharomyces Boulardii. You want to mix it because you want the probiotics to be absorbed by the carrots so the carrots can bring it throughout all of your intestines. That's the key of this; since some of the carrot is not digestible, you can use that to your advantage. This might fix your overgrowth pretty fast because it can bring probiotics, coconut oil and apple cider vinegar to areas of your intestines that are heavily candida-dominated. If you have tried everything, this is definitely worth a try. submitted by /u/vinshi to r/Candida [link] [comments]

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR (ACV) IS REALLY THE MOTHER!!!
TLDR: ACV helped in managing my symptoms of PCOS. DISCLAIMER: I am not saying na this would also happen to you if you try it kasi iba iba naman tayo. Just sharing in case you wanna try it. Hi to all of my PCOS girlies, share ko lang journey ko and my new found bestie. I was diagnosed with PCOS for almost 2 years na and like most of you, pills din nirecommend sakin ng OB-GYN ko pero di siya sakin hiyang. During the first 3 months of me taking althea pills were brutal-- sobrang lala ng cravings ko pati ng afternoon headache ko pero after that 3 months, naging bearable na siya pero di nawala. After a year of taking althea, nagpacheck up ako with another OB-GYN and nagulat sya na 1 year na pala akong nasa althea pero di niya sakin sinabi kung bakit. After the consultation, nirecommend niya ulit sakin na uminom ng althea for the foreseeable future. Sobrang disappointed ako so I voiced it out na wala na bang ibang pwedeng gawin other than pills like supplements ganon? Sabi niya wala naman na daw other than to lose weight since effective naman daw yung pills sakin. Don't get me wrong, I tried exercising and fasting pero di pa din naman nababawasan timbang ko and yung fasting blood sugar ko, within the normal range pa din naman siya pero malapit na sya lumampas. So I tried dianne pills + mypcos, both did not help with my cravings and mood swing. Until I saw this tiktoker na advocate ng mga may PCOS. May pinakita sya na mga studies na ACV daw is helpful in lowering your blood sugar which helps din sa mga may PCOS so I tried it. Sabi ko wala naman mawawala. Every morning after waking up, iinom agad ako ng diluted ACV (1 tbsp of ACV to a cup of water) and then wait for 30 minutes before eating my breakfast and wait another 30 mins before my morning cup of coffee. After my last pill, I decided na pure ACV na lang iinumin ko and OMG di ko ineexpect yung changes. I'll update this thread after 2 months to see if consistent pa din yung red days ko. submitted by /u/_anononon0n_ to r/PCOSPhilippines [link] [comments]

apple cider vinegar and fasting
I have been looking back at the posts on here for fasting and dieting and saving them to my saved folder or whatever it’s called. I recently learned about the book Why We Get Fat by Gary Taubes from one of the Redditors on here. That book basically made me want to eat mainly protein and eliminate carbs, so for a few days I just ate roasted vegetables and steak, and that’s it. (I had never even cooked steak before.) After a few days of that though (when I was kind of hungover) I ordered some Macaroni and Cheese at a bar that I frequent. A couple days have now gone by and I’ve just been allowing myself to eat some carbs here and there (like toast with soup for example). I have terrible insomnia but now I’m using some supplements like melatonin and another kind of pill from the local Co-Op as well as a popular sleeping app to try to keep my sleep hours more normal. I am pretty much hardwired to be a night owl, but I also hate waking up too late in the day. I do love the night time so much though, and I love the quietude and the people of the night. I recently saw some video on YouTube (that I can’t seem to relocate) about a fasting window where one only eats between the hours of 6AM and 3PM or something, and then has like two tbsps (or something) of apple cider vinegar with some water before bed. I’m going to try to cut down carbs again but I’m kind of wanting to not eat steak like every day, so I’m going to go with veggie protein or other things on some days.. but try to keep that eating window that I just mentioned. Does anyone else have a hard time deciding what their diet should be like? The whole thing about the book I mentioned earlier in this post too is that it kind of tells you not to bother with calorie counting. Just to eliminate carbs. I was sort of joking to myself that perhaps that book is actually just sponsored by the meat industry. Oh, and one more random thing: I want to add lifting to my gym workout routine but I’m usually intimidated by the machines. I think I need to find a personal trainer for a while because I’m so unsure of myself at the gym. New to it. Oops. Sorry that this post kind of just rambles on. I hope that it isn’t too cringe. I do be rambling sometimes but I’m too lazy to go back and streamline it right now. Bedtime rn. submitted by /u/den_den_den_d to r/redscarepod [link] [comments]

Started Taking Apple Cider Vinegar pills: die off?
I started taking two ACV pills with each meal yesterday. I have struggled with constipation like symptoms off and on for a few months and my GI has been on citrucel to help me use the bathroom. This morning after using ACV with all meals yesterday I had diarrhea. I am wondering if this is die off, if it is killing something. I did feel my stomach gurgling more than normal. Its only been 24 hours, but I'm wondering if I still it out maybe I will start to feel better, maybe its doing something and killing things? submitted by /u/Bartleby-Genesis-666 to r/SIBO [link] [comments]
