Feels like Aseprite is missing a lot of features?
This is a genuine post to understand if I'm missing something with this app. I used to draw on Resprite on steam but had to switch to Aseprite for work, but it feels like Aseprite has far less QoL and basic features compared to Resprite. Like, there's no reference windows? No interpolating colors in the palette? I can't open PSDs in aseprite, that's insane. Thank god resprite has psd support which I can then convert to Aseprite file. I can't figure out how to batch export sprites. I haven't even gotten to the UI yet. The home tab UI is not great. Why does an art application have a wall of text with file locations on the homepage instead of thumbnails? Why are so many features under drop down menus? I like how Resprite has many features like alpha lock immediately clickable and not hidden away somewhere. Am I missing something? Aseprite is THE app for pixel art but I feel like there's so many basic things missing. Maybe there's some settings I haven't found yet to fix these? It just feels so basic and convoluted for an app I had high expectations for. Edit: I realize I was a little heated when I first posted this, it was just the frustration getting to me lol. Sorry if I sounded confrontational to anyone! I'm not an Aseprite hater, I respect the app but there is a lot of room for improvement.
