Chamberlain Coffee has opened. The owner is a 24 year old influencer. Geez! Went in to Abbot's Pizza Factory. Menu has no pricing. The reasons why it would have no pricing do not bode well for the biz. I give the place a year before it closes. New shop, Lil Sweet Treat. Bins full of candy you scoop into a bag and pay by weight. A lot of entrepreneurs have their tables/vans full of goods at the curb. I was always pleased to see them until a shop owner told me they take up parking spaces that would go to a customer. It looks like Birkenstock is fighting fire with fire, getting their own customized van to park in front of their store. Pleased to see the tuxedo rabbits mural is still intact throughout the many changes of the store it is in front of. Wasn't there a plaque on top of the stands at the rainbow crosswalk? Wonder what happened to them. I don't understand the business model of food trucks. It seems like the food should cost less as they don't have the overhead that a brick and mortar restaurant has. Low cost comfort food I thought would be their selling point. But they charge the same, if not more. GamGam burger, for example. $11 for a burger, $7 for fries and $3 for a drink. I guess it's for tourists with disposable income that happen to walk by and have no idea or care about the price. But every food truck every where has crazy pricing. Finally tried the matcha at Doki Doki after seeing so many reels. I mainly went because I was tempted by the sheep design they were doing. I noticed that they were using the Kliner Labs Matcha. Hi, I’m new. This is the drink I’ve been making lately. Here is my third attempt, swipe for the first. I finally got the blue and green mostly separated. It probably would have looked cuter if I remembered to make ice last night 🙃. After scrolling through this sub I realized people usually put the milk on the bottom (I was going for the default Windows XP wallpaper look). I mix it together anyway, so I didn’t think it mattered. I mix the matcha with water, add ice and coconut water, then froth milk with blue spirulina (sometimes) and honey and pour it over a spoon onto the matcha base. Switched from Chamberlain to Encha matcha to be a little frugal since I have matcha daily now. Like, yes, objectively these types of memes lean on stereotypes and make people’s identities “the joke.” But, after years of “I identify as an attack helicopter” jokes, it’s kind of refreshing to have a gnc person at the center of a meme not be mocked or trivialized. I got a new keyboard! I've been using my Mchose G75 Pro for about two weeks now, so it feels like a decent time to share my initial experience. This particular keyboard comes with Matcha Latte v2 switches, and I replaced the stock PBT keycaps with a questionably SA profile DaYe Jukebox keycap set. Context: Before this, I was using a Logitech MX Mechanical mini, and before that a Razer Blackwidow Lite. This is my first keyboard that's not made by a major brand, and it's by far the best typing experience so far. It's a really pleasant keyboard to type on. The sound is deep, even with these ABS keycaps, and everything feels smooth. I've been using it with my Mac without any real issues. My only gripe is that the software isn't great at remapping keys to special functions (like volume up/down)—the rest of the controls work just fine. The backlight on the keyboard is pretty ugly, I turned it off first thing. There's also no real 'white' backlight, only a dull blue. None of these things are deal breakers, and I'm super excited by my purchase. Since I have no experience with these kinds of boards, I hope it lasts a while!
