RE:iPad app
Unbelievable that there still is no iPad app! The phone app has so much functionality now, such as budgeting, that this is really needed. I don’t want to manage all my finances on my phone. I know you can install the iPhone app on an iPad, but it isn’t the same and you can only be logged in on one device at a time.

ROFL apparently I created a "hostile work environment" because I speak someone's language "in secret"
There are 3 team members from a different country in my organization that have been talking among themselves in their language. I speak their language. They don't know I do. Over the last 5 months they have talked about: How annoying and pushy I am (because I drill them on the business needs and don't just accept every request they have) How I probably slept my way to my position (because I have big boobs) including trying to guess which one of my colleagues have actually slept with (at first I thought they were talking about our colleague Randy) (IYKYK). How embarrassed my kids are to have me as a mother / my kids deserve to be bullied for having a whore as a mother (I don't have kids) How I dress provocatively to tempt my married boss (in the immortal words of Mei Lee "I wear what I want, say what I want, and I will not hesitate to do a spontaneous cartwheel if I feel so moved!") How I look tired/have black circles because at night I suck dick for money (I do suck dick at all hours of the day, I wasn't aware there was funding available) who do I think I am to tell them what to do with their budget (I am your Finance Director you dick cheese, it is literally my job) We had a guest speaker from their country who I welcomed and helped set up. I may have looked straight at them a few times as I spoke with him. It was beautiful watching their faces turn from confusion to shock to terror. They were panicking like "wow we didn't know you speak the language, how long ago did you learn, how come you chose [language]" I said something like "I like knowing what people say behind my back, or in some cases, right in front of me" and I gave them my signature death glare. So this morning their director, my VP and I got in a room. Apparently by not disclosing that I speak their language, I "withheld crucial business context from them" and "created a hostile work environment". We had a good laugh about it and they will let the managers know not to forward any similar complaints. Now they "no longer feel comfortable collaborating with me". Too bad, you sagging ballsacks, you're stuck with me. Pic: Chicken Tikka Masala with aromatic Basmati rice (hint hint) submitted by /u/Zavarakatranemi to r/GirlDinnerDiaries [link] [comments]

Am I Overreacting, for being upset that my girlfriend secretly used my credit card for months?
I (Mid 20s M) have been dating my girlfriend for just under 2 years. I currently make a very decent amount of money and she knows this. I’m also very on top of my finances and credit and stuff, she maybe not so much. I typically pay my credit card down to 0 regardless of the balance every month, in December i was traveling and doing some budgeting so i just happened to check my statement. I noticed just a handful of charges that I didn’t recognize, some shopping online, random stores and shit, and even some cash advance transactions which I get charged a fee for not a big deal in and of itself but I’d figured my card had just been compromised. Reported the charges, got a new card, and proceeded carefully with my card info going forward. I did not accuse anyone and just chalked it up to bad luck. Fast forward a few months, my friends and I planned this trip to Mexico for about 2 weeks here at the end of January/beginning of February. Before traveling here I told my cc company I would be out of the country so there was no problems with purchasing things here etc. they called me and told me they had flagged some charges and wanted to know if I was back from my vacation. I am not back yet. I started putting 2 and 2 together and came to the realization that it could only be my girlfriend and I’m really crushed right now about this. I confronted her and these are the messages. I feel like I’m being gaslit about this. I really just don’t wanna see her because I’m so angry and don’t want her to be at my house when I get back but I understand she lives there and I can’t just kick her out… Am I overreacting? submitted by /u/bostonmade to r/AmIOverreacting [link] [comments]

[Megathread] Autumn Budget 2025 – Personal Finance Discussion
The Autumn Budget is being announced today, so here’s a thread to chat about what the changes mean for you. Rachel Reeves is expected to deliver her second budget in Parliament at about 12:30pm. You can watch the budget live here. Quick reminder: Rule 8 - No Politics. Please keep things on-topic so the thread stays open - it's obviously a political event, but this isn't the right sub if you just want to talk pure politics - this is for focussing on the impact on personal finances. Useful links: The Budget: What it says - Tax Policy Associates Budget 2025 summary: Key points from Rachel Reeves’s speech - BBC News Official Budget Documents PSA on Pension Salary Sacrifice since there seems to be a lot of misunderstanding: This is what was said in the budget: The government is making changes to salary sacrifice arrangements for pension contributions to increase fairness, while protecting ordinary workers. The government supports all individuals to save into pensions through a generous system of tax reliefs, worth over £70 billion a year. Salary sacrifice into pension schemes is forecast to almost treble in cost, from £2.8 billion in 2016-17 to £8 billion by 2030-31, with the biggest benefits going to the pension contributions for higher earners and minimum wage employees excluded. The government is therefore capping the amount that can be sacrificed without paying NICs at £2,000 per employee from 2029, protecting lower earners, while retaining generous tax relief on pension contributions in full. This pragmatic approach to controlling costs means that employees who contribute up to £2,000 into their pension each year via salary sacrifice can continue to benefit in full, but employee and employer NICs will be charged in the usual way on the amount above £2,000 for the minority of those who contribute above this. The cap means 74% of basic rate taxpayers, and their employers, currently using salary sacrifice will be unaffected by this change. Salary sacrifice is a specific mechanism where you agree to a reduction in salary for in return for pension contributions. Currently making pension contributions in this way you don't have to pay national insurance on them, unlike the two other kinds of pension contributions ("relief at source" and "net pay). The change (which isn't coming in to effect for years) means that you will pay national insurance on the amount sacrificed above £2k, but you will still be able to contribute beyond that following the other current limits. Official guidance: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/changes-to-salary-sacrifice-for-pensions-from-april-2029/changes-to-salary-sacrifice-for-pensions-from-april-2029 submitted by /u/Jager720 to r/UKPersonalFinance [link] [comments]

She has access and the budget to finance probably a country of stylists, why is this what she comes up with??
Ignoring the fact that she is notoriously unstylish when out in public in order to appeal to the “average woman”, her tour outfits are just so ugly to me! I saw the first outfit on tiktok and it kind of was the thing that make me solidify in the belief that she ALWAYS looks out dated. I know she’s a millenial so she’s not going to dress like a teen girl, but other artists such as Lana del rey perform in looks that don’t look like she’s trying to appeal to young people but still look modern and are styled in an intresting way that keeps them being praised for their sense of style. I think my issue is mostly with her silhouettes, such as the reputation tour outfit or the high waisted skirts/granny panties shorts she wears all the time. That made me think, I don’t think there’s any public appearance of hers that looks like a team from 2024 made it. Her grammy night look comes off as harsh to the eye and the choker jewelry is just awkward. It looks like something I would see on a pintrest board in 2014.. Her makeup as well, the infamous “cat eye”. submitted by /u/Plenty_Juggernaut_38 to r/travisandtaylor [link] [comments]

LPT if you are considering financing a car but don’t know how it’ll fit into your budget.
I’m sure this has been posted here before or people already know about it but I’d like to remind people. If you are considering financing a car but don’t know exactly how it will fit into your budget, this is a great thing to do. Take the monthly payment that the car would be and every month put that money into a HYSA account. This will teach you if you can truly afford the car, plus if you do this for a year or two you will have a decent size down payment for the car with the money you have saved. Once again, I’m sure it’s been said but I figured for younger people it can’t hurt to hear again. submitted by /u/i_klr to r/LifeProTips [link] [comments]

Are there professionals who offer the service of going over someone’s personal finances to get them organized and create a personalized budget?
I’m a 41 year old woman who has no idea how to manage the money I’ve inherited. I’ve purchased a home that’s affordable. I’ve earned 2 degrees in 4 years and haven’t had to work, just focus on school - just graduated and am about to take national test so I can go into practice. My problem is that I’ve got services, all online purchases, household utilities, apps, groceries, eating out, etc going straight to my credit card that automatically gets paid every month. I’m spending outside of my means and I need help going over my statements, identify where I’m spending, going over every charge to see what needs to change. I have horrible depression and anxiety. The statements comes in the mail and I don’t look at it bc it literally makes me ill, acknowledging my frivolousness. My bills are on auto pay so they’re paid monthly and I don’t do anything. I know this is inconceivable to a lot of you, which is why I’m here. My sister is a boss. She balances her checkbook all the time, uses quick books or some program so that she knows where every dime of her money is. I want to be like her. I know I can do it, I just need help getting organized to do it. I need someone who I can show, without receiving judgement, what I have going on with my finances, and say have at it, let’s work together and fix this mess. Please tell me this is possible. I need help. EDIT: thank you all so very much for your kind nonjudgmental words. My inbox is full of kind hearted, well meaning people offering to help me. And I don’t believe they’re scammers, nobody has asked me for any personal information. Might be trying to sell me bitcoin, but I’ve politely declined. I’m trying to reply back to the MANY messages I’ve received. Again, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to you all. I’m going to start by opening my credit card statement tomorrow and get the ball rolling with someone I’ve connected with. All because of you. If you’re someone who doesn’t have a good handle on their finances but can’t keep a “budget”, you might appreciate my insanely simple way of managing finances.
This method of handling your personal finance may sound incredibly simple to some, but for me it was life-changing. I wish I had thought of it years ago. For reference I’m single, no kids...so this isn’t for family budgeting. Here it is: -You just need a savings and a checking account. -Make sure you have $4,000 in your checking account. That should be enough to cover your monthly expenses with some solid padding. If it’s not enough, adjust that number, but for sake of explanation I’ll keep it at $4,000. -$4,000 is the key number. This all revolves around $4,000 (or whatever that number is for you). -The goal is to keep your checking account at $4,000 no matter what. -so every time you get paid (For me, every other Thursday), you should have more than $4,000 in your checking. wake up on pay day and Immediately do the following: Pay off your credit cards. IN FULL. If you’re still above $4,000, use it to Pay off any debt you owe. If you still have More than $4k, send the remaining amount to your savings account. Now you should be at $4k in your checking. -if, after getting your paycheck, you don’t have enough to pay off your credit card and stay at or above $4k, you need to Spend less money every month...I know that’s easier said than done. -Of course, if you’re having a tough month or you recently lost your job, fine you’ll slip into the $3k or $2k, but the nice thing about this menthod is that you have a real understanding of how much money you actually have...Instead of just piling on credit card debt. Prior to this method I always felt like I didn’t have a real sense of how much money I had. I always just kept everything in my checking account, but I didn’t really know how much I’d have after paying off my credit card, and therefore I never put anything into savings. Anyway, that’s my two cents. Hope it helps. EDIT: u/Aghanims pointed out that I did not address savings/retirement goals. I should note that I have an automatic monthly deduction from my checking into a ROTH IRA. If saving for retirement is your goal, transfer any remaining amount over $4k into your retirement (after you've paid off your credit card and any other debt you have). submitted by /u/Idonteateggs to r/personalfinance [link] [comments]

LPT: When negotiating a salary for a new job, always ask them what their range is. If they tell you 'we don't have a range' they're almost always lying. HR and finance will almost never sign off hiring a new employee without a budget being in place.
As a first point, you should always push back on discussing salary as close to an offer being made as possible. The more they are imagining you being a part of their team, the better the negotiating position you have. Once you're at that point, ask them what their range is. Your goal is to understand where you fit within the range. The more of the essential and desirable points in the job spec you meet, the higher up the range you'll be able to negotiate. However – and this is the important bit – if they come back and say 'they don't have a range', then it's almost always a lie (I'll come back to when it isn't in a minute). As someone who has either directly hired, or been involved in hiring over 40 employees across different industries, there's one constant. If you don't have sign off from HR and finance (potentially via a senior manager), then there isn't a position to hire for. To get sign off from those two crucial departments, you need a budget (the range) so the company can ensure that they will be able to afford the new hire, and that the salary is less than the ROI they will bring to the company. (It's also good to know that it can sometimes be worth pushing for a little over the defined range. I once had a company come back with a £6k offer above the top end of their budget because they hadn't expected to find someone at my level. They'd under budgeted and were competing against three other solid offers – all above the original top end of their budget). Now the only time that this might not apply is if they are hiring for a highly specialised position (either technical, or executive/c-suite level) where they need to pay whatever the market is demanding. But the chances are with those positions, you'll have a recruiter handling the negotiations who knows standard market rates and will be pushing for as high a salary as possible without going over what's reasonable, because their commission is usually a percentage of the accepted offer. If the job you're interviewing for doesn't fall into those above categories, then be very careful – especially when there's a deliverable involved in the interview process. Sometimes unscrupolous companies have been known to use fake jobs to farm ideas from highly qualified candidates without having to pay them for them. And even if that isn't the case, consider carefully whether you really want to work for a company where there is a culture of lying to you before you've even been hired. submitted by /u/frontendben to r/LifeProTips [link] [comments]

As you enter 2020, start and maintain a budget sheet throughout the year (and beyond). It will give you more control and power over your finances.
Hey all, this is my first time actually contributing to the sub. Usually I come here for advice but now I have some for you. At the end of 2018 I downloaded a budget template and logged all transactions throughout 2019 and I have never felt more in control of my finances. By keeping an indepth budget sheet I was able to pinpoint and realise where my money was going where it shouldn't be and to where it should be going instead. Being able to track every cent I spent or earned was the best thing I did in 2019. You don't need to use the template I am, but I would recommend it: https://www.thefrugalgene.com/budget-spreadsheet-free-google-docs-planner/ use this one instead: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qxe7PBGLVknHwJmRGP-1J60UsjCXsMffKFEnbmb3-SI/edit?usp=sharing The biggest obstacle is to keep yourself motivated to continue filling it in as the year goes on. Keep your receipts to make it easier. If you share your finances with an SO or similar, keep each other motivated. At the end of the year you will find yourself in a much more powerful position when it comes to your finances. Logging all my expenses made me see how much money I wasted on junk food and the sorts. If anyone has anything else to add please do so as I wont claim I have all the answers. I hope this post helps some of you :) And lastly, Happy New Year everyone! submitted by /u/JebusJM to r/personalfinance [link] [comments]

Ive learned this recently and it really has changed my life, and I think its important. I may have said a lot of dumb stuff, but my advice ive learned in the past month, even less, for people who have a very tight budget, or people in general. It is always said, don't buy something you can't afford. I agree. But that idea is dangerous. Instead of saying "i can't afford that" you should ask yourself "how could I afford that". Even for basic things, even wants. Theres some things you wont be able to afford no matter what you do. But, at the end of the day, Either check for expenses in your budget you can eliminate - or find a job or money making thing on the side. 7 hours a week more, most people could handle. At minimum wage,7 hours a weekis an extra $200/m, if you can, why not look for a part time job where you can work 7 hours a week? Or if you can't do that, you can look for a cheaper way to do it. I wanted a new car, but I had a budget of $900. I bought a non running car for $300, $300 in repairs, and now I have a considerably *nice* car, that I got for dirt cheap. And its not like thats something rare. If a car needs work, it is almost always insanely underinflated in price. I saw a truck that was prob worth $3k at least, maybe closer to $5k if additional work was done. $900, Why? needed transmission work. Now, it wouldn't be worth it if you hired a mechanic, but if it were me, I would take the transmission out, which I can do(anyone can, its not really hard, just takes aggressive googling), and go ahead and drive it to a tranny specialist. The majority of the cost would be just removing it and putting it in. Thats how to not be a victim of poverty. Most people who say they cant afford xxx could afford it if they just asked themselves "what would it take to afford this" submitted by /u/kielios to r/personalfinance [link] [comments]

I did it Reddit! After 18 months of careful financing, budgeting, and responsible spending, I’m OFFICIALLY a mattress owner. In this economic climate, it feels good to have some equity. People say millennials have it so tough but look! I can afford a thing to sleep on, so that’s good.

M. Night Shyamalan personally financed the entire $20 million budget of "Glass", like he had done with "Split" and "The Visit"
