AI SLOP WARNING: The first image displayed on Google search results for Bunnings stores now displays AI-generated, sloppy images of the stores...
This has been happening a lot recently in the last few days, and it's becoming more and more noticeable. As soon as you Google up your local Bunnings store, chances are, the first image displayed on the store you're searching for is now in fact nothing more than AI slop. Even search results for my local Bunnings stores on Google are now displaying sloppy versions of themselves. Why is Google doing nothing about it? Why are they allowing this stuff to happen? This can be all courtesy of a user and/or bot generating the images, and has a high Level 7 trust rate on Google Maps. This is just absolutely ridiculous. And it isn't just happening to Bunnings. Other retailers are copping this sloppy rubbish too, some retailers are getting it less, others are getting it more. But the most affected is none other than Bunnings. Here are 20 examples of Bunnings stores that have been AI-generated and are LIVE right now on Google Maps results for everyone to see. submitted by /u/Radio_TVGuy to r/australian [link] [comments]

Don’t bother looking up your local Bunnings store at this moment in time, some random user is spamming AI slop images on stores across not just Newcastle, but the nation…
UPDATE: Problem fixed. You can now once again look up your local Bunnings store, as 7NEWS and The Nightly have picked up on the matter and the AI slop images for the Newcastle area have been removed. Creepy, disturbing, ugly, soulless. Four words to describe the AI slop I am currently seeing on Google search results for Bunnings locations in the Hunter region right now. This is no art whatsoever, and the hammer is also out of place. Not to mention this isn’t what the stores actually look like. All courtesy of this Google Maps user who is responsible for the slop: https://www.google.com/maps/contrib/106777714556838274800 This is not to say don’t shop at Bunnings. This is instead a warning about the slop that’s quickly taking over your local Bunnings store on Google Maps/search results. If you can, please, go to bunnings.com.au and look up your local store there going forward instead of Google, or use a different browser like Opera or Brave. Of course, that’s only until the responsible user finds a loophole and starts spamming the slop there. And of course you can report the user responsible for the slop, but then again, Google just allows it and won’t do anything about it anyways. submitted by /u/Radio_TVGuy to r/newcastle [link] [comments]

This weapon is buns
Dont get me wrong I entierally expected this thing to suck. Its a melee weapon in a game where melee just isnt really an option. But I thought itd at least be a fun weapon to play around with, having the closest thing to a 'Chainsword' Instead, this thing is so terrible there isnt even an ironic enjoyment to it. 9/10 of me using it I felt like Id actually be better off with the default melee. Its horrible at killing chaff units, you try this thing on a horde of squid zombies and your overran immedietly Its alright at taking down the medium bugs, but theres seldom ever a time your in a 1 - on - 1 with any enemy period, because the moment a second anything lunges at you, your dead. The hope was this would be a fun but novelty chaff killer that could let me run through hordes of fodder enemies; instead it has a weird niche spot of only being good when your being attacked by a single medium sized bug. submitted by /u/MontyTheMountain to r/Helldivers [link] [comments]

Opinion: Bunnings is a terrible place to work
I know that a lot comes down to store culture, but the extraction model that Bunnings maintains continues to chip away at the staff who either don't have enough professional experience to realize it's a shit show, or are stuck in a cycle of financial strife. not all jobs are created equal. you've got the staff hanging out in the aisles chatting about the weekend, then the staff who stand at the service desk for 8 hours dealing with arsehole customers. they get paid the same. one can fluff about the aisles looking busy, the other must ask permission to go to the toilet. you then have all the oldies who declare they can't use a register because it's too 'techy', yet somehow navigate 15 apps on their lunch break. the result is that when there's a rush, those on the registers ask for help, yet no one is trained in that, so they grow resentful of the world. and you can't blame them, customers speak down to staff like they're personally responsible instead of the real decision makers who are most concerned about share prices. show an ounce of capability and Bunnings will make you an expert in as many fields as possible. the more you train someone the more value they can extract for $28 an hour. I've seen that many overleveraged staff stressed by the weight of their responsibility. expected to deal with complicated supplier/ customer/ commercial fuck ups as well as serve customers all day. just constant mental output. like a desk job where people keep coming to you and asking you to do something other than the really important thing you're supposed to be doing. it builds a culture where people avoid learning because it's another thing you'll be the only person in the store trained to do. I recently thought to myself, when ai robots take all these jobs in 5 years, at least the people won't have to deal with the shitshow of it all. Bunnings is smart, they falsely promote a great culture and community vibe, but ultimately when you can hire a robot for 30k a year that doesn't need a lunch break and doesn't complain, Westfarmers will be the first to shift. it's already happening with the self check-outs, the Bunnings App, integrated with ai. sadly there are so many people working here that have excepted how the company treats them. less staff, more extraction. more responsibility, no more pay. I know this reads heavy, but there are genuinely some really great people in these stores who are stuck and cannot see the light. Bunnings is the best they can do right now, yet they are drained and angry at the world. if you're thinking about working here, I'd go in which a strong exit strategy and communicate early what role you want, don't get swept up in the false promises. simply put, the discount really ain't worth the shitshow. submitted by /u/Intelligent-Floor759 to r/Bunnings [link] [comments]

Theft @ Bunnings
Was chatting with the team at my local Bunnings and the topic of theft came up. I got a quick snapshot of how much theft happens daily, not just in that store but across others too. Honestly, it was eye-opening. They mentioned things like expensive items being swapped into cheap packaging, empty boxes dumped behind shelves, and small high-value items constantly walking out the door. One comment stuck with me: the number of identical products where multiple boxes are opened by customers wanting to touch and feel the product, they open a new box and then put it back and buy an unopened box. All of that waste and loss has to land somewhere, and it feels like it ultimately feeds into higher prices for everyone. Curious what others have seen or think. submitted by /u/Whole_Flounder_731 to r/Bunnings [link] [comments]

"I'll just get a job at Bunnings."
My ex-H often tells our sons "when I retire [from the police force] I'll just get a job at Bunnings." We all agree that while we think that would suit him better than being a police officer and he'd be much happier, he's not likely to just be able to walk into a Bunnings job at age 60 or 65. Before he was a police officer, he was a builder with a Bachelor degree in (I can't remember exactly but some sort of building degree). He joined the police force 20 years ago when the building industry was too slow to support a new family. Realistically, how likely is he to get a job at Bunnings or is that like asking "how long is a piece of string"? UPDATE: Thanks for everyone's replies, I'm pleasantly surprised to learn my ex is more likely to get a job at Bunnings than I (and our sons) originally thought. We'll encourage him to give it a go. submitted by /u/LilyCatNich to r/Bunnings [link] [comments]

Questions about Pay & working at Bunnings.
Hi, I just recently got hired at Bunnings and as I am under 18 but close to being 18, I earn $26 an hour. I'm a casual employee at the moment. Someone told me you earn more on weekends or after 6pm, is this true? If so, how much more? What about Public Holidays? Is it a good place to work long term/worth it? Also is the pay good? I want to save my money, by the time I get paid I'll have worked 9 shifts (usually 5 hours each) & should get around $1200 pre tax (I think) I like Bunnings so far, however I want to possibly eventually go into disability support work, as I think I'd enjoy the work & the pay is also better. Bunnings store toxicity
Bunnings employees, calling you out. Is anyone else’s stores full of employees who are super egotistical and would do anything to ruin your reputation. Not saying this is every employee but the majority who is like this and are inherit bullies. For example, at my store the G4 in trade has turned on this innocent front end employee because of an incident that occurred months ago which has since been resolved and didn’t involve the G4. Now he has convinced the whole trade department to hate this employee at the front who is effectively being bullied. Threatening to beat them up and mocking them over texts. Super childish. Apparently happens all over the country submitted by /u/Agitated_Low_1613 to r/Bunnings [link] [comments]

This isn't the first post I made about this but it keeps happening and I'm getting frustrated. Someone told me today to get rid of Phoenix and get a lighter colored bun because they are "prettier". I'm not leaving my child that I had for 3 years since she was a baby just because her fur color is dark!? What a shallow thing to say! She is the most perfect bun that ever existed and she is so sweet, caring and lovely, her personality and routine matches mine perfectly. I wouldn't trade her for the world. But getting hurtful comments about how ugly she is or how dirty, and fat she is happens so often irl, and it makes me so frustrated I don't know how to deal with it. I'm not going to go into detail about how many insults that she have gotten over the years because that would be a really long list. Although I wasn't the one that picked Phoenix as a pet I just asked for one bunny from a petting zoo (they were used as owl and snake food after) and my only requirement were that they were a bunny, and oh my God was I blessed with the most precious bun of all, yet I've been getting lots of insults and people telling me to get rid of her and get a younger prettier rabbit or a cat. Sorry for the long rant but I knew that the only people that would understand my frustration are the fellow bunny lovers. If anyone has any advice on how to deal with people like that I would love to hear it. TDLR: ppl irl keep insulting my bunny's color, age, weight, and they call her dirty, and it's frustrating me. Need advice on how to deal with people like that submitted by /u/Professional-Bowl413 to r/Bunnies [link] [comments]
