Why is this posted? This is a terrible deal. 242 pieces - the vast majority - are nothing. 80 screws, 80 drywall anchors, 50 zip ties, 34 bits. This is a rip off. Buy one of the sets that's a name brand and has full 1/4-1/2 that go on sale for 100. Go to harbor freight and some 50 on pliers hammer screws anchors tape ect. 1000x better set.

Hi All. Right after I posted this I Youtubed a few videos that showed me how it works. Coolest thing was a guy using a drywall screw driven into the broken pin to extract it from the seat.

A buddy and I were thinking about learning how to do a lot more DIY home repair stuff because we just became homeowners. I've lived in this apartment for almost 4 years, and in the last month or 2 I've noticed there are dark lines where I assume my studs are. I can even see dark spots where I expect the nails are? This wall borders the outside of my apartment building in NYC. I live right next to an above-ground subway, not sure how that would make a difference though. Had a hose pipe burst in my house and ruin my basement carpet and this section of drywall. Have the pipe fixed, insurance check in hand, and am wondering if this is something I can do myself or should hire out. I was quoted $1500 to hang, tape, mud, texture. And then I would paint it up. I stripped several layers of white paint off of all the trim and baseboards in my stairwell and upper hallway to match the main level of the house. In the process I discovered a not so cleverly hidden hole where an addition was put on and so had to attempt some drywall (I bow down to people who are good at mudding, I suck at it. I probably have clown lung from all the sanding even with a respirator) . The entirety of the trim around the master bedroom door was stolen from inside the closets of other rooms and Frankensteined together so the wood would (lol) match. I've been apart of this subreddit for years now and I keep seeing the same issues with new finishers/home owners posting for help. They start the project before even looking up a how-to video or article. I've never understood the mentality of starting something without first having a basic understanding of what you are doing. The Vancouver Carpenter on YouTube has a bunch of great drywall finishing and hanging videos that will help you before you even start.
