The Carnivore diet (which has gotten recently very popular) is not only useless but actively harmful.
Now that the weird alpha community is having it's second reinsurance this dumb diet is becoming popular again. And it's insane how many people think it's actually good for them cause "well I lost weight!!". Yeah no shit. It's not because you are eating carnivore, it's cause you cut out all the junk food and snacks and are also losing water weight from the keto. Long term you will be very sick, heart disease and circulatory systems will be overloaded by the insane amount of LDL cholesterol. Also lack of vitamins and Fiber will hurt your gut micrbiome. As well as the fact that we know that red meat is a class 1 carcinogen and it's the ONLY food you are eating in this dumb diet. (Or at least it's 90% of the diet. They usually also have eggs and chicken sometimes) It's so sad cause the scientific consensus on healthy diets is publicly available and it's very clear. A plant based diet with moderate meat consumption seems (with high probability) to be the best diet for longevity and overall health. But nah. Carnivore diet and healing
I’m new to this app and don’t have social media so I haven’t got a clue what I’m doing🙈. I’ve seen people explaining how the carnivore diet has healed them and I wanted to do the same😊. For a start the Carnivore diet has truly helped my relationship with food. Going from being anorexic and not fueling my body properly, to being able to eat as much meat and fats I want to be fully satisfied and content, and genuinely happy. The food noise is gone, no more constantly thinking about food, I find that fasting also helps and is beneficial for my mental clarity! The left picture was 7 years ago. I gained weight on an intensive treatment program with a standard diet, (tube fed at one point with fortisip which is liquid sugar and seed oils🫣) lots of processed food and sugar (this was with the NHS which makes me laugh as they were feeding me junk food to make me ‘better’). I remained thin, then started going to the gym when I was at a healthy weight. I ate a high protein low fat and high carb diet which left me with skin problems, irregular periods, constant hunger and fatigue. Years later I started eating animal based🍠, then after a year on that I begun the carnivore diet (which I’ve been on for 1 year now and continuing going strong🥩.) The carnivore diet makes me feel feminine👧🏼 (I feel a lot more in touch with my hormones and my body overall) I respect myself so much more and it’s helped me grow mentally and physically! My periods are very regular now (never miss one), my discipline and motivation is stable and always there unlike before when I was getting treatment, on a high carbohydrate and low fat diet (couldn’t be bothered to do anything). Also I can tan without burning (obviously no suncream)☀️👙. The gym and running feels better than it did with carbs (sounds backwards) but genuinely my body used to ache and feel so sluggish when I ate carbs and when I ate them it was pretty much all or nothing, (I couldn’t just have 3 roast potato’s it would be the whole lot and then I’d be craving something else). I have no self control when it comes to sweet stuff hence why I cut it all out and have done the carnivore diet for 1 year now. Life just feels peaceful when you limit yourself to meat only, life feels organized and enjoyable. The small things that would irritate me before no longer do. I feel the carnivore diet genuinely heals your nervous system and clears the negative energy and toxicity out your body🙈. No one around me agrees with me or my diet, but I lowkey love how it makes me stand out (I hope some people agree🤣). It’s important to accept that not everyone is going to support you or stand by you, but you know what’s best for your health and what makes you feel your best. I’ve lost people who were close to me because of this way of eating, but I’ll never compromise my health (your health is the thing that carries you and something only you can control by looking after yourself and fueling your body correctly) Put yourself first always>🫶🏼. (Any hate comments are getting blocked😘 as I’m just tryna spread light on the carnivore diet as it’s usually hated on but has done so much good for me personally🙂) submitted by /u/Trick_Instance_1852 to r/carnivorediet [link] [comments]

How the Carnivore diet fail you and why?
I started to opening my eyes after long time being low carb ( I just cannot live with this low energy anymore ) mainly on carnivore diet and trying to force my way through it even though my body still didn’t function right. I was eating tons of meat trying raw and no salt and high salt and eggs and sticks if butter etc ect but I still had issues standing and walking up stairs and being lightheaded all the day and sometimes almost fainting and sleepy all the time etc etc I’m active young men who wants to feel well and build muscle etc etc I think carnivore diet is really nutritional deficient diet even thou influencers say it is complete not like vegan but I don’t think so… I just learned about ZN/CU ratio and how CU is important and how eating too much meat only will get that out of you. My sister is ki***ng herself over carnivore diet
Hi everyone I’m writing from Mexico, but I don´t really know what else to do, since is not my case, so here I am. I’m a veterinary medicine student, and although my field focuses on animal health, I’ve learned enough about nutrition and physiology to know when something seems off, especially in humans. I wanted to share with you the case of my sister, who is 22 years old. About five to six months ago, she started following a strict carnivore diet in an effort to recover from bulimia. At first, she consumed all types of meat, eggs, and butter. After some time, she realized that pork wasn’t sitting well with her, so she cut it out. She also doesn’t eat chicken, so currently, her entire diet consists of beef, turkey, eggs, and butter. While she initially experienced some improvements in her relationship with food, her physical health has deteriorated significantly. A couple of weeks ago, she experienced a full week without any bowel movements, which alarmed our entire family. She saw a gastroenterologist who explained that her diet lacks fiber and volume, and that excessive fat intake is slowing her intestinal transit. She also consulted with a nutritionist, who ran blood tests and found her lipid profile was extremely elevated, her electrolytes were low, and her overall nutrient balance was severely off. The nutritionist told her—quite seriously—that her current state is dangerous and unsustainable, and explained all the potential consequences she could face if she doesn’t stop, including death. Despite all this, my sister refuses to listen. She insists that by eating animals that are herbivores, she is obtaining all the necessary vitamins and minerals through their flesh. I’ve tried to explain that this logic doesn’t hold up, and that carnivore diets may only offer limited, short-term benefits when done under supervision, and never as a long-term solution. I’ve even reminded her that carnivorous diets work for carnivores—not humans. But she continues to believe she’s on the right track. I should also mention that this is not the first time she’s followed an extreme dietary path. She’s had compulsive eating patterns since she was about 8 years old. She began as a vegetarian, then became vegan—to the point of tattooing the word vegan. Later came bulimia, and throughout her life, she’s struggled with food in different ways. I genuinely believe this carnivore phase is less about nutritional preference and more about orthorexia. It seems to be another way of maintaining rigid control under the guise of “health,” rather than actual well-being. I also suspect her boyfriend plays a significant role in influencing this decision, which adds another layer of complexity. She used to see a psychologist, but stopped going and never really worked through these issues fully. At this point, I don’t know what else to do or how to get through to her. I’m reaching out in hopes that someone might be able to offer any advice or perspective that could help me guide her toward a safer path. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this submitted by /u/mdelille27 to r/AskDocs [link] [comments]

Stop doing the carnivore diet 🤡
This is Paul Saladino’s bloodwork, who used to be the face of the carnivore diet. He recently switched to a more “animal-based” diet and started adding in carbs because his free testosterone levels were cooked (literally hypogonadal) from carnivore. Overconsumption of red meat results in a rise in SHBG from iron overload, which means less free testosterone. submitted by /u/MikeIsraelEnthusiast to r/moreplatesmoredates [link] [comments]

My(F30) husband(M32)has become indoctrinated by the carnivore diet. How do I get him to ease up on me and the kids?
Hello, first time poster. Please forgive me if this is all over the place, I'm not very good at putting feelings into words. I have been married to my husband for 5 years. We have two kids together ages 5 and 2. Recently my husband has started following a ton of people who are super into the carnivore diet and he has decided that this is best way to avoid any and all health issues. He completely believes all of the random strangers that swear all of their ailments have disappeared. He believes any amount of sugar causes cancer and I should no longer buy any food that has sugar or is processed. He doesn't even believe we need fruit or vegetables, but isn't trying to force me to stop buying those for me and the kids. Although he did hand an apple to one of kids and said "here is your sugar ball." I understand that processed food and sugar shouldn't be the majority of your diet, and I do limit the snacking, but it's not enough. We have had several fights about this and he will not back down. I've tried to explain moderation, and a cookie a day is not going to cause our children to get cancer or be obese. He won't listen to doctors who don't agree with carnivore, and he won't listen to licensed nutritionists. It's getting hard to live with these constant arguments. Does anyone have any advice? submitted by /u/Present-Bit9607 to r/relationship_advice [link] [comments]

I’m 2 weeks and 2 days into this Carnivore Diet and let me tell you…
First let me describe the Carnivore Diet I am following the last few weeks since I started: strict carnivore diet (meat, eggs, butter from grass fed cows) and I cheated first week with an avocado and a pickle a day. This week I’ve only had a few pickles a day and one avocado. I haven’t found fermented pickles yet. I’ve eaten more steak than I have my entire life/red meat. I actually switched to a nearly all sushi/fish diet in 2015 or ground turkey lean meat back when I was poor and then when I had money sushi all day baby. I thought I lost weight cause I cut red meat out and alcohol. Gained weight back or lost it, fluctuated between heaviest or what I was in my prime teen years. Well now I eat red meat a lot. I love it. Marbled. I eat bacon every day, eggs usually at least 2, usually 4, would do more. I’ve had yellowfin tuna steak once, shrimp, salmon. Chicken breast, chicken legs, thighs. Oh, and coffee black in the morning. A glass of whole milk in the morning, sometimes at night with dinner. I cook with grass fed butter unsalted or salted or beef tallow or bacon grease or beef or chicken grease I have saved from days before. Kefir in the morning if I can remember (or the one time I undercooked the ground beef patties and got food poisoning where my stomach was upset and I threw up. Lasted 20 minutes, felt like I needed kefir, researched it and said it’s good to replenish probiotics after food poisoning which stopped the cramps and throwing up and all better). I did this diet to get rid of my acid reflux which has been a constant since… forever? When I eat something too heavy I feel full and can’t finish. I don’t usually ever finish a meal/plate (now that’s all I do). I don’t throw up anymore from overeating feeling (I never usually ate that much, just always had a “small stomach” and could take 3 bites of a burger and be finished as an example). While that’s why I started… more ailments are lifting! What are they? Sorry for the TMI in some of this: My skin! I’m not breaking out anymore on my back, chest, hips and butt. Red spots from previous breakouts are going away. My skin is healing. I gave up long ago trying to stay clean for no breakouts. I stay clean, they just happen. Not anymore. This is a big one for me I’ve been dealing with since 2020: HEMORRHOIDS! I tried to get a colonoscopy to make sure I didn’t have colon cancer cause the non stop bleeding from hemorrhoids and it was also protrude out. They refused to give me one cause I’m too young. Confirmed they were roids. Gave me a pill to stick up there and special wipes beyond prep H that never worked. I’m not using any of this, haven’t in a while cause I got used to using restroom and sticking them back up every morning… bleeding DAILY. But now? Bleeding has stopped. They still protrude somewhat but I can tell they are slowly returning to their proper place. No more strain or as much strain. As a kid I went #2 every 2 or 3 days. As an adult every day. But it took me 30 mins to an hour to get it all out. I learned to become scared of my own farts. Now it’s like 5 minutes and I’m done. Comes out much easier. Turns out I didn’t need more fiber like my doc said? Long ago they told me to stop the daily pills for stool softener cause I could get addicted to it and bowels will get worse so I did and just dealt with the roids. Now they are leaving! Sorry this is just such a massive thing for me. Now one thing I’m hoping to address but I don’t know what’s gonna be right or not… first time my blood panel came back and now I have high cholesterol (end of last year that report); specifically I had 149 LDL which 0-99 was “normal.” They told me “you need to eat more fish and cut out red meat” and I said “all I eat is sushi!” Then they said “ok well then you should go on a 10 mg statin” and I said no. Realized I was eating more fatty fish like yellowtail and super white tuna etc. so maybe I should try cutting fat out of my sushi diet. 😂 Now I’m eating all the meat I can, fat included. Butter included. Lots of red meat, exact opposite of what they told me. I know I need to do more testing to make sure my blood pressure is ok or something, no plaque in blood? Not sure how to go about that… but in June I’m supposed to do a super test or something that’s included with my insurance to do a deep dive in… something? I don’t know. My docs wouldn’t stop calling me so I scheduled it. My dad has diabetes type 2 (discovered when he was older) my uncle got it when he was older and he died recently. I’m trying to live a healthy lifestyle where I never get it. Anyway just thought I’d share my journey cause I’m amazed. No more acid reflux, no more throwing up, no more “full” feeling (is that bloated?), no more bleeding, skin healing/healed… and this is just a start! Now if I can get rid of the beer belly I’ve had since I was 5 years old that is probably made up of fast food, Olive Garden, and other eating out establishments. And I was never taught to cook. I never cooked before. Now I’m having fun cooking. It’s easy, for one. But I’m moving on to explore how to make pork rind buns and cacao powder butter desserts. Sugar cravings gone mostly (eat yogurt when I get it) but I stashed away the frozen cacao butter treat in freezer for when I really want it. Any advice or encouragement appreciated. submitted by /u/AgentPyke to r/carnivorediet [link] [comments]

I've transitioned to the carnivore diet over the last few weeks and what I can tell you right now is that everything they tell you about food is a lie.
I feel like a superhero! Every health issue I was facing has almost disappeared...things that I was told were chronic and permanent. Things that required surgery and money. But in just 3 weeks, near cured. It feels like I'm in a dream, I truly can't believe results. I took my time, did the research and did it right with homemade bone broths and clean unflavoured electrolytes. What they have told us about food is bull****. What they are peddling in the groceries is poison. You think pharmaceuticals are hiding the cure? They are, but not a deep vault somewhere, it's right in front of you. Beef is the most nutritionally dense thing on planet earth! Why do you think they are taking it away. Edit: For anyone interested on possibly starting this journey, do your research first! Carnivore diet is a branch of the keto diet. To understand Carnivore, you must get knowledgeable on how ketosis works and how it drastically changes your body and how it processes energy. Tigers are mainly carnivores, but they will also eat soft grass, succulent plants and fruits which supply vitamins and minerals to their diet. Eating grass also helps tigers cough out small bones and fur balls out of their system as well as facilitate digestion and relieve abdominal discomfort.
