a couple of winters ago, we went to a house party and the owners told us he was the “devil” and that they did not want him anymore despite having him since he was a puppy. they said we could take him home on the spot. we later learned that they abused him and he lived in a garage with two huge dogs that he shared a food bowl with. we took him home and cleaned him up and never looked back. we gave him a new name. he got his first vet visits ever in his 4 years of being alive. we’ve had him for a little over a year now. he fits in perfectly with his siblings. he eats really good food and stays warm with plenty of PJs & snuggles. he’s a light in our life and an absolute star anywhere he goes. we love him to bits n pieces & will for the rest of his life. ❤️ everybody, meet Emiliano Benito Zapata. submitted by /u/clutchslutboo to r/Chihuahua [link] [comments]

The male loneliness epidemic stops being tragic the minute you realise half of these lads aren’t actually looking for connection. They are looking for a mascot for their misery, which is how you end up with flocks of lonely losers treating a Neo-Nazi chihuahua like Nick Fuentes as their emotional support bigot. He is not an authority on women. He is a man who publicly declared at twenty seven that he has never slept with a woman and finds them “difficult to be around,” which is code for “I panic when an adult woman makes eye contact.” Yet these boys cling to his every word like he is the oracle of Olympus rather than a jittery fascist with a WiFi connection. They don’t seek wisdom. They seek validation for the hatred they already nurse like a wounded pet, and Fuentes gives them that hatred in a tiny, trembling package. What makes it genuinely absurd is how quickly these lads adopt his ignorance as doctrine. They do not question how deranged it is to form their worldview around the rants of someone who has never even been in the same emotional universe as a healthy relationship. Instead they feed on his bitterness like it is the Eucharist. They repeat his lines about women being ruined or difficult or dangerous, completely ignoring the fact that the man saying it has less experience with women than a department store mannequin. It would be funny if it weren’t so pathetically earnest. You have grown men, or at least adult-shaped boys, convincing themselves that their lack of romantic prospects is some grand cultural conspiracy rather than the simpler truth that women want no part of anyone whose personality has been shaped by a fuckless fascist who jumps at the sound of his own incel echo chamber. And honestly, women can detect this nonsense immediately. We can sense the bitterness, the misogyny, the insecurity wrapped in political cosplay. No woman is signing up to date a man who has modelled his entire identity after a Neo-Nazi chihuahua who has never navigated intimacy beyond a livestream tantrum. These lads think they look strong and enlightened, but they look like men who have willingly outsourced their masculinity to someone who has never touched a woman but has definitely touched his own rage more times than he’d ever admit. If they want to stay lonely, Fuentes is the perfect guru. If they want to fuck, or even just function socially, they might consider stepping away from the digital cult of losers who treat sexual inexperience and hatred as a personality. Someone dumped these babies near our office at work and I’m having a really hard time finding a rescue to even respond to my request. One did, I followed their instructions and it’s been radio silence since yesterday. They’re currently staying the backyard of our office, but after tomorrow, we’re gonna have to call the local shelter to pick them up (which euthanizes and is at capacity) or let them back out on the street. I feel so awful and helpless and was hoping someone in this community might have advice. One of the babies has something going on with her eye. It’s 2 females and 1 male and they all appear to be pretty young. My best girl. Age 15! Rescued at age 4? On the run for 9 months. A miracle that she survived. She was humanely trapped, put into foster care and nursed back to health! My Romeo will be 14 next month. I've had him since he was 3 months old so he has suffered no abuse or mistreatment but he is NOT a great dog! He has never snuggled, he routinely tries to bite me, he barks at anyone that comes into the house, he consistently pees inside the house, he's on 3 medications and is just basically a pain in the butt! Anyone else relate? I just took a video of her to add to this post but that’s another thing she does.. she’ll sniff out the smallest thing and puts everything in her mouth 🙄😂 So I felt I was fully prepared for a chihuahua but there’s still things that I wish I knew beforehand so I could prepare properly. They will fit into any space. Or at least try to. I’m talking under sofas, beds, in between the fridge and cupboard .. if there’s an opening they’re trying it and because they’re so tiny they often succeed. They shake, for everything. Cold, scared, excited, happy. I thought I escaped the shaking chihuahua trait but as she’s getting older she’s doing it a lot more. Also because of this, be prepared for everyone you meet in public to say things like “poor thing shaking like a leaf”. Don’t panic about reverse sneezing. Chihuahuas do that and quite often there’s no major underlying cause for it. It looks and sounds very scary but if you don’t overreact, the pup won’t. My girl will be trying to still play etc whilst doing it 😂. If it becomes excessive I’d definitely mention it to your vet though. I knew they liked warmth but I didn’t know how much. They LOVE heat. And just as much as they love heat, they hate cold. I’m in Scotland and walking my pup is just a whole ordeal. She won’t walk, she jumps up at my legs so her paws don’t touch the cold floor. Not all chihuahuas like wearing jumpers coats etc. I bought loads in preparation and she’s not wore any of them except her coat because she will thrash around hurting herself trying to get clothes off. She won’t even tolerate a collar on for long. she’s small but it’s a two man job getting her coat on as she will jump out my arms otherwise. However clingy you think they may be, multiply it. They are the ultimate companion and lap dog. I love it though. HOWEVER I gave myself a UTI because I wouldn’t go and pee because she was laid up on me asleep. Lesson learnt 😂. However, I know not all chihuahuas are like this but it’s a very common trait. The good thing is, they find your attention etc so valuable so you can use it as a reward. They love to hide stuff. I’ll lay on my pillow and be like wtf is poking me and find a whole load of sticks, treats, toys etc. my whole flat has stuff stashed in every nook and cranny. Not all of them are notoriously hard to toilet train. I was preparing for the worst but she will go on the grass outside and she always always always goes on the puppy pad. They are much smarter than I thought. Very very trainable. They respond much much better to reward based training than correction.
