Today’s reaction Pod: Bill claims to not be a face of the league guy and I spit out my coffee.
in the mailbag portion of today’s pod, Bill got a question about Wemby as the new face of the league and Bill goes “I hate the face of the league. I’ve said multiple times, I don’t like it. I think it’s stupid. People act like we always have to have one.” This fucking guy spent so much time talking up Jayson Tatum a few seasons ago when the Celtics won the championship as a potential new face of the league. Everyone rejected the notion because Tatum is corny as hell and guys like Anthony Edwards seemed like a more exciting potential candidate. Wemby joins the league and becomes transcendent, the Celtics choke in the playoffs for the second year in a row and now Bill hates the face of the league debate. So on brand for my guy Bill. I’d also like to mention he’s the guy who invented the NBA championship belt for the player who owns the league for that season or multiple seasons or whatever weird rules he makes up. How is that any different than the face of the league? I guess it’s the best player who ever one knows is the best player/alpha of the league whether they win the MVP that season or not. That kind of sounds like the face of the league to me. But what do I know. submitted by /u/parksuds to r/billsimmons [link] [comments]

What’s your coffee pod rankings ?(especially interested if you’re a sweet coffee person)
I really only make lattes bc it’s easy do adjust with different flavors and sweetness but I’m trying to gravitate towards coffee pods. I plan on adding creamers and syrups so what’re your rankings/recommendations for pods? *I have an old Vertuo machine so I can’t make espresso shots out of coffee pods* submitted by /u/Reddittaylor12568 to r/nespresso [link] [comments]

WIBTA if I take my espresso machine back home because my coworkers refuse to buy pods or even rinse the tray?
I work in a small office of about twelve people. The coffee the company provides is basically brown water that tastes like burnt cardboard so about three months ago I decided to bring in my own Nespresso Vertuo machine from home. I had upgraded to a newer model and this one was just sitting in my kitchen cabinet. I told everyone they were welcome to use it as long as they provided their own pods and kept it clean. It seemed like a win win at first. For the first two weeks it was fine. Then I started noticing that the water reservoir was always bone dry when I went to use it and nobody ever bothered to refill it. Then the used capsule container started overflowing because people just kept shoving pods in until the machine literally jammed. I cleaned it out twice without saying much but then I realized I was the only one ever buying the descaling kits or deep cleaning the milk frother which gets disgusting if left for more than an hour. The final straw happened yesterday. I went to make my morning coffee and realized my personal stash of pods which I keep in my desk drawer had been raided. Someone had actually gone into my unlocked drawer and taken the last four sleeves of Stormio pods. When I asked in the group chat if anyone knew what happened one of the senior analysts joked that they thought it was communal property since the machine is in the breakroom. I pointed out that the pods cost about a dollar each and I am not a charity. Another coworker chimed in saying I am being "petty" over coffee and that since I am the one who brought the machine I should expect to maintain it. I am seriously considering just packing it up and taking it home on Friday without saying a word. I know if I do the office will go back to the terrible instant coffee and everyone will probably act like I am the villain who stole Christmas. My partner says I should just leave it but stop cleaning it and see what happens but I dont want my expensive machine to get broken by their negligence. WIBTA if I just reclaim my property and let them deal with the brown water? submitted by /u/CavalierLyre9 to r/WIBTA_AITA [link] [comments]

TIFU by stealing my coworkers $400 worth of coffee pods
For context, I work in a small office (like 8 people) and we have a shared kitchen area with a Nespresso machine. When I started, I saw there were always pods sitting in the basket next to the machine and I just assumed they were communal office supplies, like the tea bags and stuff. I was pumped because free fancy coffee at work is always a win. Fast forward to today. Im making my usual afternoon cappuccino and this girl from accounting walks in. She looks at me weird and goes "hey random question but have you been using the Nespresso a lot lately?" I said yeah obviously, its there for everyone right? Her face just dropped. Turns out she brought it from home because the office coffee sucks and shes been buying her own pods this whole time. She said she noticed they were going way faster than usual but figured maybe she was just drinking more coffee than she thought. Then she saw a few other people using it recently and it all made sense. I literally wanted to die right there. I immediately offered to venmo her and told her I have some money saved up that I can send her right now for all the pods. She tried calculating it in her head and was like "honestly its probably a couple hundred dollars worth at this point." Those little boxes are like $8-10 for ten pods and I've been going through maybe 2-3 a day since I started. She was trying to be polite about it and said we can figure it out later, which somehow made it worse?? Now I cant even look at her and the next few days are gonna be so awkward. Like three other people in the office apparently also thought it was communal and have been using it too, but I was definitely the main culprit since I was there every single day. TL;DR thought the fancy office Nespresso was communal, turned out to be my coworkers personal machine and I basically robbed her of hundreds of dollars in coffee pods submitted by /u/Positive-Pen6491 to r/tifu [link] [comments]

Which pods actually tastes good?
My parents have had a keurig for years and I’ve just got my own. It’s always been nice to have a quick cup of coffee but if I’m being honest I don’t know that I’ve ever had one that was actually good? Serviceable sure but not much more than that. Admittedly my family is pretty cheap when it comes to pod buying but we‘ve had a good number of brands over the years and I cant think of any in particular I would want to buy again for the taste. Even a McDonalds or Tim’s coffee from the restaurant tastes better than the ones from the pods. Hope I don’t sound too precious but I’d like to actually enjoy my morning coffee. What pods are you buying that you actually enjoy the taste of, beyond just being a cup of coffee? Or is serviceable just the ceiling here? tldr want good coffee, need pod suggestions that are better than mid submitted by /u/CrowdyFowl to r/keurig [link] [comments]

Kirkland used coffee pods?
Just got home to restock some coffee pods and while I was taking these out of the box noticed the coffee smell coming from some of the pods. I thought maybe one burst, no biggie. The about the 1/3 of the way in the box, found a bunch of used pods, even one of a different brand. The box itself looks untampered from any of the sealed surfaces. Wondering when this would’ve been done or if it was a prior return item. Odd. submitted by /u/SoCalOmnivore to r/Costco [link] [comments]

Coffee pods are the 2nd best way to consume coffee after instant coffee - Part 2
Hello everyone, This is a follow up to my first post asking about the sources of a Wired article claiming that using coffee pods is more environmentally friendly than most other brewing methods. I emailed the professor they cited to ask for a source of the study and his response was: Thank you for your email but I have not published work in this area. Best Regards, Alf I found the email adress of the person who wrote the article (she is the head of comm for IBM Research Europe) and asked her for an explanation, I'll follow up when I get an answer from her if you are interested... submitted by /u/Aywing to r/Coffee [link] [comments]

If you drink coffee and use a Keurig.Buy a generic re-usable metal mesh K-Pod. You can fill it with grinds you bought on sale, and not only have a cheaper per cup price than regular K-Pods; you won't be polluting the environment with plastic that can't be recycled.
Thanks for coming to my Reddit thread. Now take care of the environment you filthy animals. Edit: People are missing the point, I understand there are other ways to make coffee Frugally and in a environmentally conscious way. But there's millions of Kuerigs out there that people use everyday, this is an adjustment to how they use it that is environmentally positive, and cheaper for the use case of a Keurig. There's other more Frugal ways to make coffee, this is just how to be more Frugal if you've already got a Keurig and use it consistently. submitted by /u/PugsAndHugs95 to r/Frugal [link] [comments]

Are pods (e.g Nespresso) as good as coffee grounds/powder?
I'm trying to decide on a cheap coffee machine for my student dorm room, and it seems all the popular ones only allow the utilisation of pods. I only drink espresso or Americano so I don't need all the fancy concoctions or flavours that the companies selling these pods advertise. If I were to just use pods that were for the sole purpose of black coffee, is it as good quality as the coffee that comes as a powder used in filter coffee? (Not the freeze dried stuff). Sorry in advance if this question seems a bit noobish. submitted by /u/DEV11ANT to r/Coffee [link] [comments]
