In 1977, Joyce McKinney kidnapped a Mormon missionary at gunpoint, chained him to a Devon cottage bed, and allegedly raped him for three days. She fled Britain disguised as a deaf-mute mime. Years later she resurfaced in South Korea, having cloned her dead dog.

Orthopedic dog bed recommendation?
Hi Reddit, I’m considering upgrading my dog’s bed and need some recommendations Dog info: 11 years old mix breed, 45lbs, long lean body, mild arthritis with aging but no obvious symptoms or issues yet. Mildly active, good sleeper. Sometimes sleeps like a donut, sometimes stretched out, sometimes overflowing into the floor. Currently using a 4 years old sealy orthopedic bed with memory foam and cooling foam (she runs hot), and she seems to love it. Sadly sealy discontinued this bed. I don’t have a fixed budget, would rather get something high quality that last for the rest of her golden days and give her as much support as she deserves. Saw quite some brands that are popular these days such as Casper, the Barney bed, big barker etc. but would love to hear from the community and your pups. Dog beds
In short, I have hounds and hounds have a special ripe odor. I bathe them, but not a lot as it's not good for their skin. I wash their dog beds often, with oxyclean or enzymes or odo-ban.... but im betting they more than need a good soak. What would be the best soak? submitted by /u/unbridledcheesetoast to r/laundry [link] [comments]

It's nasty sharing a bed with a dog
Sharing a bed with a dog can be kind of nasty because even if they look clean, dogs still bring in dirt, bacteria, and whatever they stepped in outside, and that all ends up in your sheets and pillow. They sometimes drool as well. They also shed dander and fur that can build up and trigger allergies or just make your bed less clean overall. On top of that, dogs don’t really have the same hygiene routines humans do, so they can carry fleas, ticks, or other stuff without you noticing. You can wipe them down, but you can’t completely eliminate all of that every single day because bathing a dog daily agitates their skin. submitted by /u/junisea to r/unpopularopinion [link] [comments]

Washable durable dog bed with bolster on all sides (aka doughnut/ bagel/ cuddler)?
I’m looking for a round (preferred) or rectangular bolster dog bed for a medium (55lb) dog. I need a bed with a cover that can actually hold up to occasional washing. I throw a blanket over her current bed to try to keep it cleanish but she’s a fragrant girl and sometimes the bed cover itself just needs washing to keep the stink down. Her current bed (fur haven round calming donut bed in large) really just isn’t washable and also hasn’t held its shape at all despite attempting to restuff it with new memory foam many times. Does anyone have a cozy bed rec that actually has a removable cover that survives the wash? submitted by /u/Flamp2020 to r/BuyItForLife [link] [comments]

Best orthopaedic dog beds??
Hey everyone! My dude is starting to show signs of hip dysplasia, and I’m looking for the best Canadian orthopaedic dog beds, that are built to last! I was originally looking at the Big Barker beds, but from what I can see they’re American (their site also keeps crashing) My guy isn’t a large breed, so it wouldn’t need to be massive, but I’m definitely on the hunt for some of the best out there for him, that are 100% Canadian. Best strategy for dog beds
I have an awesome English bulldog who has two beds, one that can remove the cover and wash at home, and one that I have to take the foam bottom out and take to the laundromat to wash. For our regular wash, we’re happy right now with just using detergent. I worry a little more about the dog beds. The only health issues he has are allergies, which contributes to the challenge of yeast on his skin. (He was a rescue, and when we got him 5 years ago he actually had MRSA, and we had to bleach all of his bedding. ) His plain bed gets washed weekly, but even though we try to keep the bigger one covered, the bolster sides get covered in crusty stuff after a while from what I assume is drool and the yeast off his neck, which is the area we struggle with the most. We normally use regular tide or Kirkland detergent. Is my best/easiest bet going to be adding Biz, or should I track down some 365 Sport? Is there anything else I should be considering? submitted by /u/Magnolia05 to r/laundry [link] [comments]

Dog bed recommendations
I'm looking for the holy grail of dog beds. I'm tired of buying a new bed every 6 months (not cheap ones either). It's for my German Shepherd who is around 85lbs. Here's what I'm looking for: - It has to have a removable, washable, waterproof cover. This is a must because my dog has gastro/acid reflux issues and will sometimes puke bile if his stomach is "empty" (crazy fast metabolism). I have to wash the cover like once a week and I want it to be waterproof so that the puke does not soak through onto whatever is inside. This is a must as well because it's almost impossible to wash the inside foams so if the cover is just some thick fabric it won't work. It has to keep the smells out of the foam. - Single layer inside. Can't do the multi-foam layer stuff because my dog will dig at his bed when he's restless or throws a tantrum and separate the foam slices and they get all folded and scrunched up inside. Then he will lay on it for hours and cause a major crease that will never go back to its normal flat self again. The last bed he had was totally waterproof but the cover did not come off. I would throw the whole thing into the washing machine until one day he dug so much the layers of foam separated and I had to cut a small slit and reach my arm in to straighten them back out. Since then he's just been making the hole bigger and the foams been coming out. Would love to find a bed for him that lasts at least a few years. submitted by /u/minksjuniper to r/BuyItForLife [link] [comments]

I dug these two out of a car engine. I wasn’t sure if I’d keep them. Its been three months now. They have a litter robot, a cat tree in every room, and sleep with me and my dog in bed every night. Are they staying?

Looking for a high-quality dog bed – any recommendations?
Hi everyone, I’m looking for a really good dog bed for my dog, who loves to snuggle and always rests her head up high. Ideally, the bed should have a soft bolster or backrest for her to lean on. I want to get her something truly comfortable and of great quality, but I’m struggling to find one that seems durable and cozy at the same time. Does anyone have recommendations for dog beds their pets love? I’d really appreciate your suggestions! submitted by /u/_mxbu_ to r/DogAdvice [link] [comments]

Talk to me about the best, most ridiculously spoiled over the top dog beds
Our furry kids are getting new beds for Christmas this year. Their 20$ tractor supply bed is on the chopping block. I have two pups, one large and one xl, who are both spoiled out of their minds and I really want the best for them. The little one (65lb pit mix) absolutely loves to melt into a puddle of comfort. You will frequently find her in the middle of a pillow and blanket fort of her own creation on the couch. Her current bed is an ultra fluffy abomination of pink I found at Marshalls, which she honestly loves but it gets very stinky very quickly and it's tough to get properly clean. Will probably keep it anyway because she loves it but looking for something new and better she will like. She curls into a ball when she gets comfy most of the time, picture a baby deer sleeping and that's her. The big one (100lb American bulldog) mostly prefers the couch or the king sized bed, which is fine, but there are occasions where I need him to stay on his own bed, so I'd like to make sure it's something comfortable for him. He's an older boy with arthritis in his back legs from old ACL tears, so comfort and support are a must. He's more of a stretching out boy when he sleeps, so something big enough to give him room to be comfortable is also important. Willing to spend to spoil these guys but I'd like the money to be worth the cost, not just buy the most expensive bed I can find. Ideally up to $300, can go as much as 500 if there's something miraculous. Pls send me all your best recommendations!! submitted by /u/FelineRoots21 to r/dogs [link] [comments]
