My problem is my hair is fine but also very fragile and falling out 🫠 the hair at the front is extremely fragile so even putting a hair straightener on it for a second snaps it off , unfortunately I have frizzy hair and blow drying on its own just don’t work I need something to earth straighten it or curl it and obviously all involves more heat, I was thinking maybe a Dyson would case more damage ? Pretty much the title. I know I should carry them with me (traveling to Tokyo) onto the plane, but the weight of the two of them plus the size they take up is really inconvenient. I was thinking about trying to attach an AirTag or something to them, so at least I’d know if they were stolen, and maybe track down the criminal like I’m in the worst action movie ever. Anyhow, I guess I’m just looking for reassurance that hair styling tools aren’t stolen 24/7, 365. (Airports I’ll be going through PHX, SFO and HND/Haneda). I’ve been thinking of buying it for ages now but I just can’t justify the price! In Australia it’s $850. I’ve been tossing up between the shark and Dyson as I’ve heard great things about both, but I’ve heard the shark is louder. I’m looking for one that I can use almost everyday to quickly style my hair, blowout curl blow dry etc. My hair is thin and just below my shoulders, naturally wavy/straight texture. 2 years ago I have different sets of tools: blower, hair straightener, & a curler but now I only have two! 2a hair, medium porosity, and length is until my bra line. Growing up, I had a hard time styling and maintaining my hair because at some point I was 2c, but had 2 rounds of rebond and years later it just didnt go back to 2c. I now use honey infused hair oil and the gisou styling cream alternating with fino hair oil. I love both my dyson airstrait & airwrap because I get to choose the hairstyle that I want depending on the occasion. I've been using the airstrait for a year and 2 years with my airwrap. I bought the airstrait here in the Philippines and the airwrap through an IG reseller. Price wise, the airwrap was a bit expensive since ceramic pop is a limited edition (2023) version and I had it shipped in the PH while the airstrait is okay lang, and readily available here sa PH. Rating: Airstrait 10/10 - no fuss, if you want an easy and convenient tool this is for you! - i can style my hair within 15-20mins if I really want it straight, and I like the dry feature kasi sometimes I just wanna straighten kahit morning pa ako naligo and then lalabas ng gabi - i feel like my hair isn't as damaged compared to using hair straightener Airwrap 8/10 - minus points kasi I don't really use the other attachments - favorite: curling barrels kasi two different size, you can achieve beach waves with the bigger barrel and mas tight curls with the smaller one! - because i have wavy hair, i reach out more with the barrels and really stays all day, idk bakit sa iba hindi? - di ako fan ng round brush or di lang ako marunong - the smoothing feature of the dryer WORKS as in hindi fly away ang hair ko - ok lang with the smoothing brush, i use them kapag after night shower kasi dry na tapos nakasuklay ka pa so all good overall: no regrets na binili ko both, parehong useful sakin kasi ang gulo ng hair ko? some days trip niya medyo straight, sometimes mej curly so i get best of both worlds AND feel ko na-roi ko na both dahil everyday ko nagagamit, my sister uses both :D ANYWAY, ask me anything! submitted by /u/chickenwimys to r/beautyph [link] [comments]

I have naturally super fine hair that I managed to grow long, it’s naturally wavy and very flat. I usually straighten my hair when I go out because it only takes me like 15 minutes but I got the dyson as a gift and wanted to see if I could get some more volume and curls … girls, I spent soo long on this and these curls fell flat within an hour. AITA, My gf and I have been dating for 3 years. We both work at the same job and socialise lots with other people at work. We started dating when we were both lower levels but I’ve since jumped a few tiers at work. She’s been dropping hints of an airwrap. I earn good money and this last week have been doing higher duties at work and got a pay rise for the week so I thought I would splurge. Here’s the dilemma, all the dysons look the same to me and my boy eyes. So I asked one of the girls from our work which one to get. Now my gf is mad because it’s embarrassing having this other person know how much I’m spending; it gives the appearance that my gf is only dating me for my money (friends who have known we dated before hand know this to be false); and I asked not my gfs best friend (who I get along with well enough but not super well, and also works at our work). TLDR: want to know which one has best air suction for the curler!! been seeing (kinda) dupes from Dreame, Simplus, Stayoung, Hodekt etc. Parang Hodekt yung pinakamura, pero di ko alam kung worth it?? Anyone who tried curlers na may suction like airwrap? May cheaper dupe po ba na malakas pa din suction at nakakacurl pa rin? Already saw other threads similar to this pero baka merong nakapagtry na ng 2 or more of these products, maganda sana kung may comparison kung which one ang mas malakas ang suction. I recently purchased the Dyson Airwrap Coanda 2x from Korea and wanted to share my thoughts, especially in comparison to my existing Airwrap ID. Motor & Airflow The Coanda 2x definitely feels more powerful than the Airwrap ID. Using the fast-dry attachment, the airflow felt as strong as my Dyson Supersonic Nural. I can’t compare it to the Supersonic R (since I don’t own one), but both the R and the Coanda 2x feature Dyson’s Hyperdymium motor. I also noticed the Coanda 2x runs hotter at the same settings compared to the ID. Body Size & Design The body of the Coanda 2x is slightly smaller and feels a bit lighter than the ID, though the difference isn’t drastic. Photos attached for reference. The plug resembles that of the Dyson Airstrait. Attachments – Not Cross-Compatible Unfortunately, the Coanda 2x attachments are not compatible with previous Airwrap models, including the ID. However, they do feel more substantial and improved in quality. Barrels It comes with 30mm and 40mm barrels—both shorter than the conical and 40mm barrels of the ID. Despite that, they work just as well, even on my waist-length hair, and produce slightly tighter curls (see photo). According to Dyson Korea’s manual (Manual for Coanda 2x), a 20mm barrel and diffuser are also available for this model, though they weren’t included in my set and I’m unsure if they can be purchased separately. Smoothing Brush The new smoothing brush features longer, firmer bristles that flare outward—almost like crab legs (see photo). It grips hair better, which I imagine would be great for those with curlier textures. 3. Fast Dry Attachment With the enhanced motor, this attachment really lives up to its name. It dried my hair as fast—if not faster—than the Supersonic Nural. I’d say the Nural is just slightly hotter, but the performance is comparable. 4. Straightening Attachment This attachment was a standout for me. It works on dry hair and managed to straighten my previously curled strands in a single pass—no water or product required (see photo). Once you press the power button, the attachment automatically clamps onto the hair, and the motor usually stops on its own after each pass—about 95% of the time. I suspect there’s a built-in sensor, though I haven’t confirmed that. It’s also great for creating soft C-curls. Interestingly, I found it also works well on hair that’s around 80% damp, even though it’s not specifically marketed for wet use. 5. Round Brush The round brush is noticeably smaller than the ID’s, but the bristles are similar to the smoothing brush—firm and grippy. It produced a smoother, more polished blowout, and the smaller size worked well for my fine hair. That said, I hope Dyson eventually releases a larger round brush for this model. Controls & Automation The Coanda 2x features a standard power button and a slim, elongated cool shot button. Holding the power button for five seconds toggles the “ID curl” feature, letting you switch between manual and app-programmed settings (just like the ID). Once the settings are synced via the MyDyson app, you can use the device independent of your phone. The straightening attachment also seems automated, but I haven’t changed any app settings and it’s been performing great on default. One note: pressing the power button doesn’t shut it off —when not in use, it goes into standby and powers down on its own after a short while. I have fluffy curly/wavy type hair. Doing my hair (blow drying it and then curling it) without my dyson took around 45 minutes or so. I was exasperated and decided to invest in the Airwrap Pros: 1-cuts down the time by about half. I used the round brush attachment 99 percent of the time and it took about 20 min or so. The curl attachment- the curls do not stay. It’s a great option when your in a rush in the morning and don’t have time to spend 45 min on your hair. 2-it actually gets all the kinks out your hair. Anyone with curly hair knows how hard it is when your hair is wet to blow dry all the kinks out that are close to your scalp. I hardly ever have to worry about getting wrinkles in my hair anymore. That being said- Cons: My hair is breaking and falling out. The amount of tension the blow drying brush uses combined with heat has caused immense damage. I use heat protectant and leave in conditioner (olaplex 6,7) I had long beautiful hair that I had to chop a ton off because of how thin the ends were getting. Unfortunately because of this I will have to retire my Airwrap and only use it once in a while when I’m in a rush. The dyson blow dryer is a much better product that is way more worth it in my opinion. I do have both. I’m going to try to learn how to give myself that blowout look because that was the thing I loved about my airwrap. I have tried different methods with the Airwrap. You cannot use it with your hair sopping wet or completely dry. Regardless my hair still was snapping off like crazy. It’s unfortunate and quite upsetting but just like any product that will cause heat damage the dyson too will cause it. Edit- meant to add. I had virgin hair when I bought it.
