Dyson Airwrap vs. Alternatives for curly hair
I have both the Dyson Airwrap hair styler and the Shark Flexstyle, so I thought I would share my experience in case anyone else is deciding between them. My hair has naturally loose curls and tighter waves, so I wear it curly most of the time. I tried using the Dyson Airwrap hair styler hoping it would help me get smoother blowouts or defined curls, but it did not work as well for my hair type. The main issue for me was tension. I could not get enough tension with the Dyson attachments to create a really smooth blowout. When I tried the curling barrels the result looked fine at first, but the curls did not hold as well as I expected. With the Shark tool my hair seems to hold curls better and the diffuser attachment works much better for my natural curls. I think the Dyson Airwrap hair styler probably works great for people whose hair is naturally straight or slightly wavy. For curlier textures it may not give the same results. While comparing tools I noticed many similar styling tools online too. Some even show up on Amazon and Alibaba with designs that look inspired by these. Curious what others with curly hair think about the Dyson Airwrap hair styler. submitted by /u/Reasonable-Middle921 to r/CurlyHairCare [link] [comments]

curlsmith xxl diffuser attachments are difficult? Suggestions?
I bought the curlsmith xxl diffuser yesterday and today I tried the with the concentrated nozzle and it was extremely hard to put on. I thought I was crazy because I tried lining it up and still wouldn’t go on. When I did manage to put it on, it was incredibly difficult to remove. I plan to return it and thought maybe it was a defective item but I was able to see another one and the same issue was there. Is this something anyone else has experienced? I appreciate the fact it wouldn’t fall off since attachments can fall off blow dryers often but being unable to take it off without a fight doesn’t seem worth the money lol. Could I get some advice on if this is a defective thing or suggestion for a different blow dryer with a great diffuser. Edit: sorry I forgot to mention something else. When I turned it on to blow dry my hair, it was almost vibrating or humming. My very old dryer doesn’t do that so I was just confused if this is a new thing or again just an issue. submitted by /u/concret3muncher to r/Ulta [link] [comments]

Dyson wave+curl diffuser 2x
Hi everyone, I’m getting a bit desperate and hoping someone here might have some insight or advice. I recently bought the Dyson Airwrap Coanda 2X, the version with attachments for straight and wavy hair. Overall, I love it, but I also have curly hair from time to time, and I really want to style it properly using the Wave + Curl Diffuser 2X. The problem is that I’ve been waiting for over two months now (almost three) since the product launch, and the diffuser is out of stock everywhere. I’ve checked Dyson’s official website and multiple retailers, and there’s absolutely no availability or clear restock date. Has anyone managed to buy the Wave + Curl Diffuser 2X recently? Do you know if Dyson usually restocks these accessories, or if there’s an alternative that actually works with the Coanda 2X? Also open to any tips from people with curly hair using this Airwrap version. Any help would be really appreciated. Thank you 🙏 submitted by /u/vanishingmuse to r/Dysonairwrap [link] [comments]

Dyson airwrap concerns and attachment queries
I bought the Dyson airwrap 2 years ago and I absolutely love it. At this point I can’t live without it. But my attachments have all started to fall off the Dyson wand due the ridges getting crooked, I have thick wavy hair and might be because I do it applying a bit of tension. Irrespective of that, this is not something I’d expect from a ~1000aud product. I am looking to buy the large round volumizing brush attachment, but it is literally always out of stock. Been checking since 6 months now. Please let me know if anyone has experienced the issue as me - their Dyson attachment ridges bent and causing falling off of the attachment mid usage. Can I write to Dyson about this and will they offer a replacement? Why is this round volumising brush attachment always out of stock? Any other website / irl place I can buy from? I also wanted to buy the diffuser since I have wavy hair - to get better curls. Will the diffuser attachment fit my Dyson airwrap wand? It would be super helpful if you could answer these questions!! Thank you so much for reading this :) submitted by /u/pumpkinpiehoney to r/Dysonairwrap [link] [comments]

Recommend the Best Dyson Airwrap Dupes?
There are so many posts asking, “Is the Dyson Airwrap worth it?” or “What’s the best Dyson Airwrap alternative?” So here's a clean, simple guide based on real Reddit threads and user reviews. If you are just trying to figure out which Dyson Airwrap dupe actually works, this thread breaks it all down. What is the best Dyson Airwrap dupe right now? The Shark FlexStyle is the most recommended and most tested dupe. It’s the closest match in results, features, and ease of use but much cheaper. Most Redditors say: “If you want Airwrap results without the Airwrap price, get the FlexStyle.” Why is the Dyson Airwrap so special? Why is it hard to copy? The Airwrap uses the Coanda effect which basically pulls your hair around the barrel using air, not extreme heat. This means: fewer split ends smoother curls less heat damage styles while drying Any dupe that works well usually has some version of this airflow system. How similar is the Shark FlexStyle to the Dyson Airwrap? It’s quite similar and the reasons why I think so: Similarities creates soft curls like the Dyson styles and dries at the same time uses airflow instead of high heat good for frizzy or damaged hair works on many hair types Differences uses slightly more heat doesn’t include a fancy case brush heads are a bit larger can bend into an “L” shape so it’s very useful as a travel dryer Most users say they don’t miss anything from the Dyson. Do you need to spend Dyson money for Dyson results? No, many people get the same results from mid-range tools like the Shark FlexStyle so there is no need to spend money on Dyson for the same results. That’s why it shows up on almost every list of the best Dyson Airwrap dupes. Are the attachments actually useful or just ‘extra stuff’? For the Shark FlexStyle, they are actually useful: paddle brush for smooth, straight hair curling barrels wrap hair automatically diffuser is great for curls and waves oval brush gives volume and blowout look concentrator for fast drying People actually use these, they are not just for show. Does it work for all hair types? Yes, based on Reddit reviews. Works well for thin, thick, curvy, wavy, frizzy and colour- treated hair too. Only exception: Extremely short hair or very short bangs. The barrel is a bit big. How long does styling take with a dupe? It’s usually faster than the Dyson because: It has stronger airflow It has slightly higher heat It’s quicker curl setting Also, Curl hold depends on your natural hair pattern and products used. Pro Tips for Using Dyson Airwrap Dupes Use the cool shot: It helps curls set and last longer. Start with damp hair: Hair should not be too wet, not fully dry, they should be about 70% dry. Use a light mousse or heat protectant: It keeps curls in place for longer. Smooth first, curl second: Use the paddle brush before the barrel if you have frizz. Store your tool safely: It's tools should be kept safely, since dupes don’t include luxury cases. Top Pick: Best Dyson Airwrap Dupe (Reddit-Approved) Shark FlexStyle Powerful Styling The community’s #1 choice among all best dyson airwrap dupes. Why people love it: closest match to Dyson fast styling gentle heat great attachments lightweight works for every hair type If you want Dyson-level results without the Dyson price, this is the one. Bonus Option Shark FlexFusion Straightener + Dryer Good if you prefer: straight sleek styles quick everyday styling one tool that replaces a straightener + dryer Not a full Airwrap dupe but a strong alternative. submitted by /u/Juhezmane to r/BeautyRecommendation [link] [comments]

Can I use (and buy) the curly diffuser on a straight/wavy Airwrap?
Hi! I’m interested in buying a Dyson, but I have curly hair. The only curl-related attachment I really want is the diffuser that comes with the “curly hair” version. At the same time, I’m more interested in the Coanda who is usually recommended for straight to wavy hair. Does anyone know if I can buy the diffuser separately, and if they’re compatible with the same Dyson base? Thanks for any help! submitted by /u/Iluuki to r/Dysonairwrap [link] [comments]

Dyson 2-in-1 Diffuser?
Does anyone have a Dyson Supersonic Nural, an Airwrap ID, or a Coandax2 with the new 2-in-1 Diffuser attachment? If so, do you like it? What do you think about the Dome mode? Do you recommend it? Need help: Which Dyson Airwrap attachments & hair products should I get (friend coming from US)?
💨 Hey everyone! I just got the Dyson Airwrap ID (the one manufactured in Malaysia, sold in India), and I’m absolutely in love with it! 💕 I have shoulder-length, extremely dry, fine, and damaged hair, and I really want to get the most out of my Airwrap — both in terms of attachments and products that work well with it. My friend is coming from the US soon, and she’s kindly agreed to bring a few things for me. So I’m trying to decide what’s worth asking her to get. Here’s what I’m looking for and would love your input on: 1️⃣ Attachments - Should I buy extra Dyson attachments from India or the US? - If you’re in the US, could you please suggest where to buy Dyson attachments at a reduced price (official or third-party)? - Has anyone tried any third-party attachments (like the AirSrate, diffuser, or volumizing brushes) that actually work well? Please share your experiences and links if possible 🙏 2️⃣ Products to use with the Airwrap Since my hair is super dry, fine, and damaged, I’m looking for recommendations for: - Heat protectants - Leave-in conditioners - Serums or lightweight oils - Volumizing sprays or creams - Any product that helps the Airwrap style last longer or protects hair from breakage Basically, anything that can help me get the best results from my Airwrap and not make my hair feel fried 😭 If you’ve tried any must-have hair products that pair beautifully with the Airwrap, especially ones available in the US (so I can ask my friend to get them), please drop your recs! I’ll be forever grateful if you can also share any links or mini reviews of third-party attachments that you personally loved. Thank you so much in advance 💗 submitted by /u/No-Representative436 to r/dyson [link] [comments]

Dyson: are knockoff diffusers as good as the OG?
I'm looking into the Airwrap Co-anda 2x, but I'd like both barrel sizes AND a diffuser. The Straight/Wavy vs. Curly/Coily packages don't allow for that combo. So I'm considering buying the Straight/Wavy and buying a knock-off diffuser (since Dyson never stocks their accessories properly - I won't hold my breath for an OG diffuser separately). However, this feels silly given that I'm positive I will use the diffuser 90% of the time. So it has to be durable. So, to anyone with experience: are these knockoffs (almost) as good as the original Dyson diffuser? Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/dreamy_25 to r/femalehairadvice [link] [comments]

Dyson Airwrap Coanda 2x – Review & Comparison with Airwrap ID
I recently purchased the Dyson Airwrap Coanda 2x from Korea and wanted to share my thoughts, especially in comparison to my existing Airwrap ID. Motor & Airflow The Coanda 2x definitely feels more powerful than the Airwrap ID. Using the fast-dry attachment, the airflow felt as strong as my Dyson Supersonic Nural. I can’t compare it to the Supersonic R (since I don’t own one), but both the R and the Coanda 2x feature Dyson’s Hyperdymium motor. I also noticed the Coanda 2x runs hotter at the same settings compared to the ID. Body Size & Design The body of the Coanda 2x is slightly smaller and feels a bit lighter than the ID, though the difference isn’t drastic. Photos attached for reference. The plug resembles that of the Dyson Airstrait. Attachments – Not Cross-Compatible Unfortunately, the Coanda 2x attachments are not compatible with previous Airwrap models, including the ID. However, they do feel more substantial and improved in quality. Barrels It comes with 30mm and 40mm barrels—both shorter than the conical and 40mm barrels of the ID. Despite that, they work just as well, even on my waist-length hair, and produce slightly tighter curls (see photo). According to Dyson Korea’s manual (Manual for Coanda 2x), a 20mm barrel and diffuser are also available for this model, though they weren’t included in my set and I’m unsure if they can be purchased separately. Smoothing Brush The new smoothing brush features longer, firmer bristles that flare outward—almost like crab legs (see photo). It grips hair better, which I imagine would be great for those with curlier textures. 3. Fast Dry Attachment With the enhanced motor, this attachment really lives up to its name. It dried my hair as fast—if not faster—than the Supersonic Nural. I’d say the Nural is just slightly hotter, but the performance is comparable. 4. Straightening Attachment This attachment was a standout for me. It works on dry hair and managed to straighten my previously curled strands in a single pass—no water or product required (see photo). Once you press the power button, the attachment automatically clamps onto the hair, and the motor usually stops on its own after each pass—about 95% of the time. I suspect there’s a built-in sensor, though I haven’t confirmed that. It’s also great for creating soft C-curls. Interestingly, I found it also works well on hair that’s around 80% damp, even though it’s not specifically marketed for wet use. 5. Round Brush The round brush is noticeably smaller than the ID’s, but the bristles are similar to the smoothing brush—firm and grippy. It produced a smoother, more polished blowout, and the smaller size worked well for my fine hair. That said, I hope Dyson eventually releases a larger round brush for this model. Controls & Automation The Coanda 2x features a standard power button and a slim, elongated cool shot button. Holding the power button for five seconds toggles the “ID curl” feature, letting you switch between manual and app-programmed settings (just like the ID). Once the settings are synced via the MyDyson app, you can use the device independent of your phone. The straightening attachment also seems automated, but I haven’t changed any app settings and it’s been performing great on default. One note: pressing the power button doesn’t shut it off —when not in use, it goes into standby and powers down on its own after a short while. There are not a lot of reviews out there (especially not in English), so I hope this helps! submitted by /u/TillNo8706 to r/Dysonairwrap [link] [comments]

Dyson airwrap diffuser attachment never in stock, customer service useless. Is amazon knock off attachment ok?
Hi all I have been trying to buy the diffuser attachment for the airwrap for a year now and it has been perpetually out of stock. Whenever I ask customer service about it they give me no useful information, namely when it is likely to be back in stock. I used to have complete trust in Dyson as a company (have had a Dyson vacuum cleaner for years but it feels like they have expanded too quickly in terms of product lines and are falling short in product quality and customer service. Considering buying a knock-off diffuser attachment from amazon. Does anyone have any experience of this (good or bad)? Thanks submitted by /u/technocraticish to r/Dysonairwrap [link] [comments]
