Best espresso machines to buy in 2026? [$500]
hey everyone, i’ve been lurking a bunch of coffee subs and now i kinda want an espresso machine of my own. making coffee at home just sounds fun instead of always going out lol. i’m not a pro or anything and want something that: • is good for beginners but makes legit espresso • doesn’t require a full barista setup with grinders/mess everywhere • feels solid and worth the price my budget is around $500 but i can stretch a bit if it’s worth it. what are you guys using? anything you’d actually buy again if it broke etc? thanks! ☕️ submitted by /u/BrilliantYarn8023 to r/espresso [link] [comments]

WIBTA if I take my espresso machine back home because my coworkers refuse to buy pods or even rinse the tray?
I work in a small office of about twelve people. The coffee the company provides is basically brown water that tastes like burnt cardboard so about three months ago I decided to bring in my own Nespresso Vertuo machine from home. I had upgraded to a newer model and this one was just sitting in my kitchen cabinet. I told everyone they were welcome to use it as long as they provided their own pods and kept it clean. It seemed like a win win at first. For the first two weeks it was fine. Then I started noticing that the water reservoir was always bone dry when I went to use it and nobody ever bothered to refill it. Then the used capsule container started overflowing because people just kept shoving pods in until the machine literally jammed. I cleaned it out twice without saying much but then I realized I was the only one ever buying the descaling kits or deep cleaning the milk frother which gets disgusting if left for more than an hour. The final straw happened yesterday. I went to make my morning coffee and realized my personal stash of pods which I keep in my desk drawer had been raided. Someone had actually gone into my unlocked drawer and taken the last four sleeves of Stormio pods. When I asked in the group chat if anyone knew what happened one of the senior analysts joked that they thought it was communal property since the machine is in the breakroom. I pointed out that the pods cost about a dollar each and I am not a charity. Another coworker chimed in saying I am being "petty" over coffee and that since I am the one who brought the machine I should expect to maintain it. I am seriously considering just packing it up and taking it home on Friday without saying a word. I know if I do the office will go back to the terrible instant coffee and everyone will probably act like I am the villain who stole Christmas. My partner says I should just leave it but stop cleaning it and see what happens but I dont want my expensive machine to get broken by their negligence. I'm a barista and my desire for lattes has only gone up since I've been working here and I'm wanting an espresso machine and steam wand for home but a lot are expensive and I want to make sure I get my money's worth without breaking bank. thank you submitted by /u/MostAbsoluteGamer to r/barista [link] [comments]

Decided I didn’t need a $550 espresso machine
I had been eyeing this espresso machine for a while. The price dropped to $550 and I thought long and hard about purchasing it. It was in my cart, it but then I decided that I should save the money and continue to use my trusty pour over. Here is to not buying stuff we do not really need submitted by /u/itsjustafleshwound79 to r/Anticonsumption [link] [comments]

Do you really need to buy an expensive Espresso machine for home use?
So, I am very new to coffee stuff since I dont actually drink coffee before... but recently I have been exploring it, first trying out UCC instant coffee which worked for awhile for me but then I found Iced Latte and this is the perfect blend for me and I want to try making it at home so I it will be cheaper but then I learned that you need Espresso for this which you need Espresso machine. I find it pretty expensive to order on grab every time I want some Iced Latte. So after searching on reddit most recommend an expensive Espresso Machine which I get it, most of the time expensive means better but I am just getting into this and I cant justify buying an expensive one, I was planning for around 10k budget max? but even with that I am still doubtful it will be that good investment imo. So is it reasonable to buy expensive espresso machine for home use? or buy something mid range price? or do you have any tips making espresso without using espresso machine? Edit: I got overwhelm with the replies huhu, didnt expect this many replies. I cant respond to all of them but I am reading them. Thank you everyone, I really appreciate it. submitted by /u/Bangreed4 to r/CoffeePH [link] [comments]

Best Espresso Machine? That Actually Last a Long time?
I’ve gone through three espresso machines in five years cheap ones died fast, "good" ones barely outlasted the warranty. I just want something reliable that pulls a great shot and doesn’t leak/break in a year. Budget is flexible for quality. Willing to go big for a good unit. After seeing so many good feed back for the Rancilio Silvia. I decided to buy it here. I got the Pro X. Spend a bit more for the quality. Who’s had their machine for 5+ years without issues? So… I was very happy to receive my new Bambino (first espresso machine) today. Delivery guy decided to throw it over the gate.
Now talking to Sage customer service to return/exchange it. For those in Spain: it was obviously SEUR…. Worst delivery company in the world. Such a dumb and avoidable action. submitted by /u/RealPerro to r/espresso [link] [comments]

Best Machine for Beginners
Hey everyone! I’m looking to buy an actual espresso machine and need advice on the best one for a beginner. I currently use a Moka Pot to make my espresso, and I don’t have any problems with it I just want an actual machine. I absolutely hate Nespresso machines, so that’s not an option for me lol. I’ve been watching videos on Breville, Delonghi, and La Marzocco. Any other brands I should look into? What would you recommend for someone’s very first machine? submitted by /u/Ok-Lynx9838 to r/espresso [link] [comments]

In-laws messed up my dialled in espresso machine 1 hour after they arrived for the weekend
As the title says. They arrived. Asked for a cup of coffee shortly after. I offered to make them some but they said ‘oh don’t worry, we’ve a coffee machine at home.’ The y finally appeared with their coffee and said ‘there wasn’t enough coffee coming out so I had to adjust the settings.’ Now it produces about 90ml of under extracted brown water instead of 60ml of properly extracted coffee and I get to waste a 100g of my specific expensive beans dialling it in again. I fucking love this place with the hatred of a thousand jilted lovers. It’s ’mildly infuriating.’ I know it’s a first world problem. That’s why it’s mildly infuriating. All you highly regarded individuals telling me it’s a first world problem, I know. That’s because that’s what this sub is about. And I know I should have taken note of the settings but I didn’t as I’ve barely touched them in about 3 fucking years. submitted by /u/Belsnickel213 to r/mildlyinfuriating [link] [comments]

TIL James Michael Tyler, who played Gunther the barista on “Friends” was originally meant to only appear as an extra; he remained on the show as he was the only actor there who knew how to operate an espresso machine.
