Rating fidget toys that I own!
1 - a 3d printed plastic thing I got from a local toy store. 8/10. I absolutely love this thing. For me, it’s a 10. Only reason I rated it lower was because it’s loud. It makes loud plastic scraping sounds and it tickles my brain. I like it. 2 - these things have so many names. Idk what to call em. 9/10. They remind me of cracking my knuckles. It does annoy others around me, though I don’t think it’s terribly loud. 3 - speks jumbo sized gump. Before I got this, I had a needoh nice cube I had been using for years before the seal started to separate. 10/10. It is a dog hair magnet, but it’s very easy to clean. You can play with it with 2 hands, it’s softer than the nice cube and feels higher quality. I love it, it’s quiet and if you squish it, it makes a clicky sound when you let go of it. 4 - pop it. This is my best one out of my collection. Used to like these, not a big fan anymore. 6/10. Kind of loud. It does have a satisfying crunchy pop though. 5 - mini needoh. It has a doughy texture and I loved it. 9/10. I played with it too much and it popped… :( 6 - rolling thingy? I’m not sure what to call it. It spins. 5/10. Too repetitive for me. 7 - putty. I love these. 6/10. They get stuck closed too easily. Haven’t been able to open any of them for years lmao… 8 - infinity cube, metal. 8/10. It’s heavy. Requires some concentration, and it’s cold to the touch at first, which I like. 9 - spiky rings. 9/10. Wish there was a bigger one of these that could press into my hand. I like the spiky feeling when it presses into my hand. Please give me recommendations for things like that!!! 10 - needoh snowball. 10/10. Love the crunchy sound…it popped though. After like 2 years of use.. I’m kinda sad about it but it’s ok! 11 - hematite rocks/magnets - 8/10. A bit weird to bring places, loud, very heavy. I usually only use these at home. Let me know what u think of my ratings!! Possibly give me ur own opinions or fidget recommendations for me in the replies!!!! submitted by /u/AM3THYSTG30D3 to r/autism [link] [comments]

Why buy a plastic fidget toy for $10 when you can print a shittier one for $1,000
I just bought my first 3d printer (PS2). I’m still waiting on my filament so I can do my first print ever. my wife noticed the credit card bills and called me out for $200 of filament after buying the printer. I couldn't help laugh at how expensive this hobby is already getting! So here’s to hoping I love it as much as everyone else and my kids are better off for learning about home manufacturing and 3d modeling. if not I may be 3d printing a dog house to sleep in. submitted by /u/PhillConners to r/3Dprinting [link] [comments]

Is this a game or a adhd fidget toy?
What even is this? Am I seriously supposed to spend the entire day mindlessly running back and forth, harvesting thousands of fruits, throwing them into a cauldron, just to get a handful of candies which I can then use (and only if the shop randomly decides to appear) to maybe buy items that never show up? And when they do? There’s a ridiculous lottery mechanic attached, giving you a 0.5% chance to win the so-called “grand prize.” That’s not a game anymore. That’s a behavioral treadmill, a system engineered for braindead players who are expected to stay online all day (gotta keep those player count high, right?) and get so frustrated they end up spending real money. Roblox’s multi-billion-dollar empire thanks you for your service. Let’s be honest: you’re not playing a game anymore. The game is playing you. And yet, people are out here saying this is “fun” or “exciting”? Please. This is the very definition of brainrot. There’s nothing here. No real challenge, no creativity just endless button-pressing without a shred of joy. You grind yourself into oblivion. At least the horror of this entire design perfectly fits the Halloween theme: pure, corporate horror. submitted by /u/JohnSilverBeard to r/growagarden [link] [comments]

Best silent fidget toys for adults?
I can’t seem to find a fidget toy that’s both satisfying and silent. It doesn’t help that I’m kinda picky and I’m hoping someone can help me find something. Here are the key things: Silent- honestly the most important. I want to be able to fidget discreetly without annoying the people around me No putty- pretty self explanatory No fidget spinners- I’m so sick of them and they aren’t satisfying at all for me but if it’s one of many components that’s ok Smallish- doesn’t have to be super small but I don’t want something that requires 2 hands Smooth movements- makes brain go brrrrr BONUS POINTS!! -metal -multiple components -has a slider that doesn’t make any clicking sounds but is not only a slider (like the “pills”) I’m not sure if there’s anything out there that has all of these things but if there is, please let me know!! UPDATE: So I got 3 things. The ONO roller, signets, and 3D printed a gyroscope type fidget (link below). The roller is amazing and I can’t put it down. I haven’t gotten the signets yet but I’m pretty excited for them. The 3D printed fidget is pretty great and I made it into a mini project by printing it in wood, sanding it down, and I’m going to stain it too! But so far my favorite it the roller and all I hear when I’m using it is Limp Bizkit’s Rollin’ https://www.printables.com/model/648943-tactile-fidget-rings-spinning-fun-toy submitted by /u/ghostie2214 to r/ADHD [link] [comments]

My boss ‘corrected’ a coworker when she called the fidget I brought to a meeting a toy, was she right or wrong?
So I was at a meeting and a coworker made a comment like ‘I didn’t know we could bring toys’ or something like that. I didn’t think much of it and just was like yeah, we can. My boss told my coworker ‘it’s a fidget, not a toy’. I didn’t even notice this part happened. Then a week or so later my boss and I are talking and she goes like, ‘I had your back with Coworker, I told her it’s not a toy.’ My fidgets are all toys, like the one at the meeting was a squishy boba cup with a cat top. I don’t think my coworker was being rude or anything, she doesn’t have the spine to do that. I think her comment was harmless on her end. And my boss isn’t exactly supportive of my adhd, or anxiety, or anything really. She likes to look like she is, but if we try to change anything to make accommodations she blows up. So, was my boss correct in correcting my coworker or was she just being kind of weird? I really can’t tell and I don’t want to do anything about this, I’d just like to have a better idea on the meaning of what happened if anyone can help. submitted by /u/Otterpop26 to r/ADHD [link] [comments]

My husband thought this was a fidgeting toy.
My husband thought my stitch counter was a fidget toy. When I found it like this I was like "honey did you touch this?" I need it cause I have a horrible memory and trouble counting stitches. He goes "Yeah why?" "Because it's a stitch counter so I remember how many stitches I have" he smiles innocently "I'm sorry it had a clicky button that made the numbers go up" I just started laughing in disbelief. AITA for launching a complaint on my boss over a fidget toy?
WFH ended and I have autism and adhd. I found having those squishy fidget toys at a desk really helps me concentrate and problem solve. After two weeks back in the office my manager Kyle said no toys at our desk it’s not preschool. I asked HR and told them it helps with my disability and wasn’t hurting anyone. They said it’s not even their policy so management really can’t ban these items in the office. I have the pup in a cup out one day and Kyle rips it out of my hand puts it in his Starbucks coffee cup and throw it away. I now go to his manager and back to HR and I get to WFH again to meet my needs and Kyle is suspended pending investigation into hostile work environment. Kyle is about 3 years away from retirement and may have to retire early now because he’s crying to anyone that him finding another job after being fired for hostile work environment is going to be impossible. He’s blaming me saying I was out of line for having the squishy pup in a cup bothering him at work but the pup makes no noise and Kyle has a private office. So there was not need for him to rip it out of my hand in throw it away after HR said they were already cool with it. submitted by /u/ToysInTheOffice to r/AmItheAsshole [link] [comments]

TIFU by spinning a fidget toy up to high RPM's
This happened roughly 30 minutes ago. These finger spinner toys have been getting pretty popular at my school in the past week. Kids have been making their own, So i decided to make my own. three ball bearings, some zip ties, and hot glue. Worked good. I thought it would be a good idea to use an air compressor to see how fast i could make it spin. Held it up around eye level and started blasting it, In my head i was thinking it was pretty damn cool. Before i knew it the thing exploded. One bearing hit me in the thumb right below my nail, Possibly breaking it. The other bearing whizzed past my head and broke a window behind me. So glad i didn't lose an eye... I recovered 2 of 3 bearings. TL;DR: High speed ball bearings broke window and possibly my thumb. Edit: to the people who are wondering how the hell I made this thing, http://imgur.com/OcsAVTO Basically that, but covered in hot glue. Edit 2: My thumb is ok! As for the window...... Also my highest upvoted post, thanks for acknowledging my fuckup. Edit 3: I'll put a picture of the window when I'm able to :) Edit: Here's the broken window! http://m.imgur.com/srvpHN6 Edit 4: Check out r/FidgetSpinners submitted by /u/Racistcats to r/tifu [link] [comments]
