I bought this not expecting too much, I’ve had the brand before and it was just OK. I was shocked at how good this pizza was. This was actually the second pizza I bought in like three days. It’s right up there with Home Run Inn pizza. It’s by far the best thin crust pizza I’ve ever had frozen at least. The cheese is incredible on this thing. Folks, this is a rant. For me, a frozen pizza was always a treat, something I have on a Friday night, after work or even on a Saturday I didn’t want to cook, it’s was a mix of GOOD taste & EASY cooking. And then, enshitification happens… My go-to pizza treat changes the cheese for cheaper, then reduces the sauce coverage to 0.05 millimetres, then pepperoni is plastic membrane + salt (but cheaper). I’m eating cardboard with shittiest ingredients that totally wrecks my body. Let’s try another brand - OH! Exact same shit with plastic/salt cheese and abrasive tomato sauce. F**k, I can’t do this anymore, let’s try Costco, surprise/surprise, pepperoni tastes like Chernobyl game meat and cheese like burnt plastic. Today, marks the end of frozen pizza era, for me. I think most people who dislike frozen pizza just dont know how to cook them properly. I think the most common mistake is not cooking them long enough to let the cheese darken. But if you dont use a cookie sheet, the right oven rack, or the right temperature, then the crust will burn before the cheese gets to the correct stage. I love pizza. I'd eat pizza 7 days a week if I could. Most of the time when I have pizza, it comes from the freezer section at the grocery store. Digiorno, Jack's, Tombstone, Red Barron, whatever. I like mine with the cheese getting dark around the edges and slightly dark in the middle, but with a soft crust. Not, undone, just not crispy. My wife likes hers crispy, almost burnt on the bottom. So I put mine on a thick cookie sheet on the top rack. Hers goes on a thin sheet on the bottom rack. I cook them at 400° regardless of what the package says and it always seems to work out. I've figured out how to cook frozen pizzas to suit my tastes. I'd take a DiGiorno over Papa John's, or Domino's, or Pizza Hut (don't even get me started on their "cheese") any day of the week. My friend invited a group of us over for a girls night. She said she’d take care of the food if we brought drinks, so I stopped and grabbed a couple bottles of wine on my way. When I got there, she asked everyone to chip in $10 for the food. The food ended up being two frozen pizzas and a bag of chips. I had already spent nearly $30 on wine that everyone was sharing, so I felt a little weird about paying more. But I handed her the money anyway because I didn’t want to make it awkward. The next day, she called me saying thanks for coming, but she also mentioned how “everyone should pitch in every time” since it makes things easier. It just rubbed me the wrong way cause she said she’d cover the food if we got the drinks.. and I’m almost positive the food wasn’t over $60. Now I’m wondering if I’m being petty for feeling annoyed, or if it actually was kind of tacky. After a particularly long or stressful day it can be tempting to just get fast food instead of cooking. But the price of fast food is completely out of hand these days. Almost $20 for a meal for one person. It has gotten absolutely ridiculous. But I have a better idea frozen pizza. I keep a few in my freezer for days I just don't want to cook real food. Popping one in the oven for 10-20 is no less convenient than the drive through line and it's significantly cheaper. Even the nice frozen pizzas like Red Barron are about half the price of a full meal from a fast food place.
