Dank voor de reacties. Inmiddels is het met hulp van de klantenservice opgelost! Door het eigen wifi-netwerk (google nest) los te koppelen van de modem en de modem hard te resetten (met pinnetje indrukken) de boel weer werkend gekregen. Alle apparatuur uitschakelen had ik al wel geprobeerd maar die harde reset was hier blijkbaar de oplossing.

I know this is the not the best place to ask this question but given how google is making low key efforts in the nest products I am tempted to move away from it. We currently use google thermostat, CO/smoke detector, Wyze door lock and two external Wyze cameras. We are moving to another house. That house does not have any smart gadgets except a ring doorbell and a ecobee thermostat. We are planning to add cameras, smart door lock, new CO/Smoke detectors, thermostat etc. currently google still looks the best way forward but just checking if any one has tried any other company (like Amazon+ecobee etc). Hey! Need some help before I totally blow up my house hahaha I totally get the G, Y, and W wires… but RC? I see the RC has a bridge/connector to R, but where does it go on my Nest? With Google’s desperate push to get everyone on their AI-centric ecosystem, could they be leaning towards sunsetting Nest sooner rather than later? Getting everyone off the legacy Nest-only products/app and shifting everyone to Google Home would be step 1. The Federal Communications Commission issued a notice today adding all consumer routers manufactured outside the United States to its Covered List, a designation reserved for communications equipment deemed an unacceptable risk to national security. Routers you already own are not affected, and retailers can still sell models that were approved under previous FCC policy. But any new foreign-made router model going forward cannot receive FCC radio authorization, which effectively blocks it from entering the US market. The ruling is broader than most people will expect. This is not just another shot at TP-Link or Chinese manufacturers. American brands are caught in it too. Netgear, Eero, and Google Nest are all US-headquartered companies, but they manufacture in Asia, which means their future products fall under the same restriction. Companies that want to keep selling new routers in the US must apply for conditional approval from the Department of Defense or the Department of Homeland Security, and that process requires submitting a plan to shift at least some manufacturing back to the United States. The FCC pointed to the Volt Typhoon and Salt Typhoon cyberattacks as direct justification, both of which involved routers as entry points into critical American infrastructure. The obvious counterpoint is already getting raised by security researchers. During the Volt Typhoon attack, the routers that Chinese state hackers primarily targeted were Cisco and Netgear products, both designed by US companies. Moving production to American soil does not automatically make the software or the supply chain more secure. Hey everyone, I’m looking to overhaul my home security and I'm leaning heavily toward the Google Nest ecosystem for the sake of integration. Also heard great things about Google Nest's cameras. Before I pull the trigger and start drilling holes, I’d love to get some feedback from those of you who have used these specific units or have experience with the Nest/Google Home app lately.
