Screenshot shows the “history” showing that she never left her “safe zone” meanwhile the neighbours called to say they found her a block away - across a busy street to boot. I spent like $100-200 on the tag I can’t remember and another $150 for a year subscription to the service because my dog is getting old and senile and has done some out of character things like wander away at work (she’s a golf course dog and has been on the course with me for 15 years… she always has stayed in the shop or with me on the course until recently when she seems to follow smells and I lose track of her). So I bought the GPS more for the course than anything else so I could quickly find her if she wandered off. But obviously it’s a bonus to have the GPS on her at home too in case she ever got out. She’s not a dog that has ever even tried to escape, but like I said… she’s losing her faculties a bit so I was being cautious. We have a fully fenced in yard but occasionally a gate gets left open by the kids or Amazon or something… When I was setting up the system it asks you to set up your home “safe zone” where it will work off wifi to save battery power. I sort of assumed the GPS would kick in as soon as she was detected to be outside ie. receiving a gps signal. I mean a lot of dogs escape from their yards presumably where they still have wifi signals right? Anyway my kids must’ve let the dog out or something cause we didn’t even know she was outside. We were giving the kids baths and my phone rings and it’s the neighbour saying they have her. She must’ve gotten under a weak point in the fence or something because the gate was shut so now I gotta find that problem too.
