Did Hk vital magnesium glycinate reduced their dosage?
I have query related to label of magnesium glycinate. The new labels says serving size is 2 tablet (2.32g) and per 2.32 g give 220 mg elemental magnesium. Doesn't it means I have to take like 4 tablet to get close to RDA? 1tbalet= 110mg elemental magnesium as per label. For those of you taking Magnesium Glycinate while taking adhd medication
What time of day are you taking it? - Personally I'm going to be trying to take it to help prevent the headaches, afternoon crashes and help my stress/anxiety levels overall. I know many people take it at night before bed but I don't know if this will then help with the daytime headaches? I've added in taking an electrolyte drink everyday because I certainly don't eat enough to replenish my electrolytes and I don't drink much with sodium or anything else is in lately (I'm having major wisdom teeth issues that I can't afford to do anything about currently) So - especially for those who take it for the headaches (I'm on dex if that makes any difference) when do you take it? My tablet dosage is 150mg for mag and says 1-2 a day. Thanks for any help! submitted by /u/extraavocadoo to r/ADHD [link] [comments]

Magnesium Glycinate - what dosage do you take?
My Magnesium Glycinate seems to help somewhat with my tight pelvic floor issues. While I doubt this is the cure-all, I feel like this is probably a good part of any treatment plan. I am generally very cautious going big on anything and so I can handle 200-300 MG a day, has anyone taken 400mg and did that provide more relief? I'd just love some discussion here on if you use this, how much you take and if it's making a difference. I generally don't like prescription meds that they prescribe as they are potentially addictive and I HOPE there are natural alternatives that show promise. submitted by /u/One_Rub_780 to r/PelvicFloor [link] [comments]

Magnesium Glycinate, from “holy grail” to sleep disruptor?
I’ve been taking Magnesium Glycinate for close to 2 years, and for a long time, it was a total game-changer for my peri/menopause sleep issues. I take a Consumer Lab "top pick" at the recommended dosage, and my partner takes it too, so we go through Costco-sized bottles frequently (this isn’t a good batch to bad batch issue). About a month ago, my sleep became terrible again. I started sleeping very lightly and waking up at 3:00 AM, then every hour after that. I decided to experiment: • Pre-holiday weekend - Stopped taking it, and I actually slept a bit better. • Over the holidays - Stopped entirely, and my sleep was more consistent. • The last 3 nights - Added it back in, and the 3:00 AM wake-ups, followed by waking every hour, returned immediately. I’ve taken 1/2 of a Ooly Melatonin gummy around 5-6am and can sleep until 10-10:30am in an effort to sleep more. But I obviously can’t do that next week once the work week starts back up. Has anyone else experienced magnesium glycinate suddenly "flipping" on them like this? Did you switch to a different form of magnesium? Night meds: 100mg Progesterone (oral), Trazadone, Lamotrigine 100mg (off label for sleep), testosterone gel and Magnesium Glycinate. Sleep hygiene is dialed in: night meds, warm shower, no bright lights or screens, white noise machine, cool room etc. I can fall asleep easily. Cannabis: I’ve tried various cannabis sleep gummies in the past (WA state) and they haven’t helped. Some types have made my sleep worse. I am considering trying a tincture or something else since it’s been about a year and 1/2. I can’t smoke cannabis in any form. submitted by /u/empathetic_witch to r/Menopause [link] [comments]

Why you should seriously consider Magnesium Glycinate + Vitamin D3 in your 30s
Just hit 30+ and wondering why your recovery feels slower, sleep is trash, and your energy crashes by 4 PM? Yeah, that’s not just aging it’s likely magnesium and vitamin D deficiency creeping in. I started taking a combo similar to this one 👇 Magnesium Glycinate (250mg elemental Mg) + Vitamin D3 (1000 IU) — and here’s what I noticed: 🧠 Better sleep & relaxation – Glycinate form is super gentle and helps with deep sleep without gut issues. 💪 Improved muscle recovery – Especially if you lift or train regularly, magnesium helps your muscles relax and reduces cramps. 🔥 Energy levels – D3 helps with testosterone, immune health, and mood regulation. 💓 Stress & anxiety control – Magnesium calms your nervous system; you’ll literally feel less wired. 🦴 Long-term bone and joint support – D3 + Mg = better calcium absorption and joint health. Why this combo works: Most of us are magnesium deficient because of processed foods, caffeine, and stress. And Vitamin D3 deficiency is almost guaranteed if you’re an indoor worker or live in polluted cities. Together, they fix multiple systems quietly in the background. When to take it: • Take 1 tablet after dinner or before bed. • Avoid taking with caffeine or high-fiber meals (it can block absorption). Not medical advice — but if you’re in your 30s, tired, and constantly low-energy, this duo might be a literal game-changer. submitted by /u/__Ceo to r/ThirtiesIndia [link] [comments]

What is your experience taking magnesium glycinate? Can it improve mental health or decrease rumination?

Magnesium glycinate—how much are you taking?
I just started supplementing with mg glycinate because I’ve read amazing things about it for adhd symptoms. It’s too early for me to fully gauge the effects. However, I did notice that the serving size for the brand I bought is 200 mg (2 capsules), which seems a bit low. Is anyone taking more than this? I can’t find it now, but I’d read somewhere that a person was not feeling the difference because the amount they were taking was too low. Once they upped their dose, they started to see the benefits. submitted by /u/QuietAnticoagulation to r/adhdwomen [link] [comments]

How much magnesium do you guys take everyday?
Hi! First post here, I'm a 22F, 140 lbs (if that matters) and I've recently started taking 400 mg of magnesium glycinate daily. It's also paired with 4,000 units of vitamin D3 (I have a history of severe deficiency) and 120 mcg of vitamin K2, as well as 2,000 mg of fish oil, and a general low dose multivitamin. My stack has seemed to work pretty well for me so far but I've run into some issues with my magnesium intake. Before, I was just taking 200 mg but, in combination with the higher vitamin D intake, I started to develop what I believe to be a magnesium deficiency. I started to experience terrible fatigue that made it nearly impossible to get out of bed, and then I learned that vitamin D tends to pull from magnesium a lot, so I increased my dose to 400 mg everyday. My fatigue has improved a TON! I'm hardly fatigued in the mornings anymore BUT I've begun to experience looser stools. I haven't been on the higher dose for long so maybe my body will adjust but I was curious as to how much magnesium you guys take daily and if this is a safe dosage? Could I eventually end up at toxic levels of magnesium? I'm new to the world of supplements so any input is greatly appreciated! submitted by /u/Top_Reputation_1910 to r/Supplements [link] [comments]

Has anyone improved deep sleep with magnesium glycinate?
I'm a 32-year-old male who gets 8–9 hours of sleep regularly, but I consistently wake up feeling groggy, unrefreshed, and yawn throughout the day. My sleep tracker shows that my deep sleep duration is slightly below optimal—usually around 60–70 minutes, while light sleep dominates. My recent blood tests showed: Vitamin D: 40 nmol/L (deficient) Vitamin B12: 200 pg/mL (borderline low) Everything else (thyroid, HbA1c, CBC, lipids) was normal. Now I'm considering adding magnesium glycinate (440 mg elemental magnesium/day) to improve deep sleep quality and reduce next-day fatigue. Has anyone here actually experienced measurable improvements in deep sleep or reduced grogginess with magnesium glycinate? Also, is 440 mg elemental magnesium too high to start with, or should I split the dose? Appreciate any real-world feedback or tips on dosage, timing, or brand recommendations. Thanks! submitted by /u/kdawwwwwg to r/sleep [link] [comments]

Here’s what I’ve learned about stacking magnesium + glycine + theanine (anwers to your comments on my last post :)
I was honestly blown away by the engagement on my last post — “What I’ve learned from 4 months of researching natural sleep solutions.” Many of you asked great questions, especially around how to combine things like magnesium glycinate, L-theanine, and glycine — and what dosages/timing work best. Here’s what I’ve learned (from studies, and reading 100+ comments): Magnesium Glycinate • 200–300mg seems ideal for most people • But yes — as some of you said — more isn’t always better. One person mentioned it “made me crap and fart like a mofo” 😂 That’s usually a sign to reduce dose or switch form (e.g., bisglycinate or splitting the dose). L-Theanine • Works best around 150–200mg, 30–60 min before bed • Helps especially if you get racing thoughts / stress spikes • Some found it “makes me feel relaxed but not sedated” — which is perfect if paired with something like magnesium Glycine • A lot of people under-dose it. Optimal is 3g (3,000mg), about 30 min before bed • It works by cooling core body temperature and supporting deep sleep cycles • Someone asked: "What’s the right glycine dose?" — Answer: 3g, unless combining with other sedatives submitted by /u/PsychologyHour to r/ouraring [link] [comments]

Demystifying the 22% Magnesium in Magnesium Glycinate myth: It's called buffered Magnesium Glycinate and the effective bioavailable elemental magnesium is less than 15%.
This is a continuation of the very useful post by u/iamsorryy last week. I will try to elaborate here. Why Magnesium Glycinate? Magnesium glycinate (a.k.a. Magnesium Bisglycinate) is one of the most bioavailable forms of magnesium. Several brands claim 22% elemental magnesium availability in their magnesium glycinate formulation. E.g. Naturaltein 550 mg magnesium glycinate claims to have 121 mg elemental magnesium. Tata 1mg magnesium glycinate 1000 mg tablet claims to have 220 mg elemental magnesium. What's the issue? Molecular weight of magnesium glycinate is 172.4. Molar mass of magnesium is 24.3. The elemental magnesium availability in magnesium glycinate can therefore be (24.3/172.4*100%) = ~14.1%. This is the theoretical maximum. What's the truth behind the 22% claim? Here's the catch: There's something called buffered Magnesium Glycinate. This is practically a mixture of the much-less-bioavailable Magnesium Oxide and our target Magnesium Glycinate. Since magnesium oxide (mass: 40.3) is much lighter than magnesium glycinate, the former has nearly 60% elemental magnesium by mass. Therefore, the mixture can have anything between 14.1% and 60% elemental magnesium depending on the mixture ratio. What's the effective magnesium? To get 22% magnesium in buffered Magnesium Glycinate, the MgGly:MgO ratio should be around 83:17 [1]. Under the assumption of 100% bioavilability of MgGly (in reality, it's around 90%, but for fairness let's assume MgGly is perfect), this gives you 0.83*0.14=0.116 or 11.6% of elemental magnesium. Bioavailability of Mg in MgO is much less. Estimates are around 4% to 21%. With 4%, you get 0.17*.0.04 a.k.a. 0.7% of magnesium. With 21%, you get 0.17*0.21 a.k.a. 3.7% of magnesium. In total, the effective bioavailable magnesium in buffered Magnesium Glycinate is therefore between 12.3-15.3%. Why are the brands misleading you? Why is this not called out? Well, probably because they can get away with selling buffered Magnesium Glycinate under the guise of Magnesium Glycinate since the names are similar. But to be 22% on paper (with less than 15% bioavailability), it has to be buffered Magnesium Glycinate and in no way pure Magnesium Glycinate. What are my alternatives? I don't know. May be MgGly powders (Trexgenics, iThrive, Doctor's Best, Nutrija?). [Edit] MgGly powders from manufacturers on Indiamart. I am adding this based on feedback. These are about 4x cheaper than, e.g., Trexgenics. Personally, I am a bit skeptical about these. They do provide certifications, but you have to trust them, and do check reviews of the manufacturer on Google. Take twice the dosage of what "22% MgGly" products claim. [Edit] A slightly more expensive option may be Mgd3: this one doesn't mention the mass of MgGly in it, but says it's equivalent to 250 mg elemental Mg. Again, you have to trust them on this. Why am I writing this? Because this is a very simple and yet very crucial calculation that I never thought of until I saw u/iamsorryy's post and everyone considering Mg supplementation needs to know this. Thanks to them for highlighting this. [1] You get this by solving x+y=1, 0.14*x+0.6*y=0.22 where x is the fraction of MgGly. submitted by /u/dan6545 to r/Fitness_India [link] [comments]

Magnesium Glycinate 400mg/day significantly reduced sweating
Hey all, Been taking 400mg magnesium glycinate daily at night for about a month now. Significant reduction in sweating from hands and feet—it’s quite remarkable. Not a full cure—nervous or anxious moments can still trigger it, but the intensity is lower and it subsides quickly. For full context - I currently take: Zinc picolinate 30mg Glutamine 5g (AM, empty stomach) Probiotic (can't remember of dosage of the top of my head) Omega-3 fish oils Eat clean—no added sugar, minimally processed foods I also had very low vitamin D (diagnosed Nov 2024). Took 50K IU/week for 4 months; stopped ~1 month ago. That said, I’ve taken all of the above—individually and in combination—at other points in my life, with no impact on sweating. Hence, I attribute the change to magnesium glycinate. Just thought I’d share in case it helps someone else. submitted by /u/Warm_Neighborhood_75 to r/Hyperhidrosis [link] [comments]

How much Magnesium Glycinate do you take for sleep?
For those that use Mag Glycinate for sleep, how much are you taking at bedtime? I've been using it for a few months consistently now and am lucky to be one of the people that doesn't get restless or anxious from it. I searched around for a bit but couldn't find a consistent answer. 200mg seems to be most common but I sometimes saw higher. I currently take Pure Encapsulations Mag Gly which are 120mg each. Any good brands in india for magnesium glycinate ?
Hi everyone, I've been considering purchasing magnesium glycinate and I'm looking for a reputable brand in India that offers a good dosage of elemental magnesium, ideally providing at least 50% to 100% of the RDA values. I just canceled my order for magnesium glycinate from Carbamide Forte. Can you recommend any other good brands that have tested lab reports? Thank you! Currently, I am considering these two options: 1) Naturaltein Mg Glycinate 2) Slow MgBlend by Wellbeing Nutrition EDITED: went for naturaltein magnesium glycinate. Will try well being triple magnesium and ace blend’s max magnesium later on. submitted by /u/Vishesh_Vrma to r/Fitness_India [link] [comments]

Magnesium glycinate dosage - how much do you take a day?
Hi guys! I know that the internet has the general answer to this, but I’m curious to hear this from a real person’s perspective. How many milligrams of MG do you personally take a day that works for you? I’ve started taking the gummy form of MagG at 200mg and it seems to be okay… but I just feel like it could be stronger? I don’t know. I'm 26/F, so someone close-ish to that range answering would be extra helpful! But I am still extremely interested to hear about people outside of that range as well so please chime in. Male and female, any age. Oh and bonus questions - what brand have you found to be your absolute favorite for magnesium glycinate? And what changes have you seen taking it? submitted by /u/Pickles-on-ice to r/Supplements [link] [comments]
