nutribullet NB50500 ultra personal blender review (not subtle but pretty effective)
so there's this weird feeling when you stand in the kitchen and realize the blender you own is designed for a person with more time and counter space than you. That's how i was feeling when I ordered this thing. I already had a full size big blender, and tbh it worked fine. powerful enough, blended things well, but it just took up an absurd amount of space on my counter. Every morning I'd pull it out, make one smoothie (yeah, one) then i have to wash the pitcher, the lid, the gasket, dry it all, put it back. It was a whole hassle for what basically amounted to some frozen fruit and protein powder in a cup. I'd been vaguely aware of personal blenders for years. I'd seen the original nutribullet in people's kitchens and in those recipe videos where someone makes a green smoothie and then apparently just walks out the door with it all casual. I assumed they were underpowered. like fine for soft berries and almond milk, but not for frozen mango or ice or anything that actually required force. I figured if I wanted something that blended well, I needed something big. now i see this assumption was wrong, or at least outdated. So I started researching. And by researching I mean I spent two evenings reading reviews, comparing wattage numbers I didn't fully understand, and going back and forth between the nutribullet Pro, the Ultra, and a Ninja model that had good ratings but looked like it belonged in a garage. The Ultra kept coming up. How it's going so far So it basically lives on the counter now. that's the first thing worth saying. My old blender lived in a cabinet because it was too bulky to leave out. This nutribullet ultra is small enough that it just stays there, basically next to the coffee maker. also it doesn't bother me visually, which is a low bar, but one that matters when your kitchen is already cluttered with things. I use it most weekday mornings. Sometimes on weekends if I'm making something for the kids. It quietly replaced the fullsize blender, which has now been moved to the back of a cabinet where it will probably sit until I donate it or someone asks to borrow it. It also replaced a certain kind of decision fatigue. I know that sounds like I'm being dramatic about a blender, (okay maybe I am). But there's a difference between a tool that requires setup and a tool that's just there when you need it. Now i can just grab the cup, throw things in, blend, twist off the blade, put a lid on, and leave. The cup is the container. There's no pouring. There's no extra vessel. That's the whole thing, and it turns out that's exactly what I needed. My fav features 1200-watt motor. This is the number they lead with. My old nutribullet (years ago, the 600-watt one) struggled with frozen fruit., but this one doesn't. Frozen strawberries, frozen mango, ice, and whatever else, it pretty much handles all of it without that awful grinding-stalling-grinding sound that cheaper blenders make. it blends fast, too. Most of my smoothies are done in under 30 seconds on the automated cycle. I've blended frozen bananas with oat milk and a scoop of protein powder and gotten something genuinely smooth, meaning there’s no chunks, or those annoying unblended pockets at the bottom. For a single-serve blender, that's pretty good in my mind. It doesn't replace a Vitamix for hot soups or big batch jobs i guess, but for what I use it for, it's more than enough. glow interface. When you place the cup on the base, a ring of light illuminates with two options. So there's a full circle for the auto cycle and a pulse circle for manual control. small design thing, and I'll admit I thought it was gimmicky when I first read about it. But it's kinda useful. The auto cycle runs for about 30 secs then shuts off on its own, which means I can start it and walk away to pack a lunch or find my keys. The pulse option is there for when I want more control, let’s say if I'm blending something thicker and want to check the consistency halfway through. Neither mode is complicated. You tap the circle it goes that's it. cups and lids. so it came with a 32 ounce cup, 24 ounce cup, and a 24-ounce handled cup, plus two to-go lids. The cups are made from Tritan Renew, which is apparently a material made with 50% certified recycled content. I don't know enough about plastics to evaluate that claim meaningfully, but I can say the cups feel solid. They're not flimsy. They're BPA-free and dishwasher-safe also. lids seal well. I've thrown a cup in my bag and not had a leak (yet, ha). But one thing, the lids can be a little tight to remove sometimes. Not always a huge deal, but I've had a few moments where I'm twisting harder than seems reasonable. rapid extractor blade. It's stainless steel with a titanium coating. The blade is sharp (genuinely) and I noticed that blending times were shorter than with my old setup. There's a rubber gasket around the blade assembly that you need to remove for cleaning, which I didn't realize at first. Once I figured that out, cleaning became pretty straightforward. I handwash the blade and put the cups in the dishwasher sometimes but not always. noise. I'm putting this under features because nutribullet specifically markets the Ultra as their quietest single-serve blender, and I think that deserves scrutiny. Is it quieter than older models? Possibly. I didn't have the exact previous model to compare side by side. Is it totally quiet, well ofc no. It's a blender with a 1200 watt motor so yeah it sounds like one. If someone in your house is sleeping and you start this thing next to them, they're waking up. The sound is maybe lower in pitch than what I remember from the older blender, which could be what they mean by lower frequency sound. It's not unpleasant exactly. It's just not quiet. The footprint. It's compact so if you're short on counter space (like me), this is a nice advantage. Also I didn't buy it for the aesthetics, but the gray color is inoffensive and the shape is clean enough that it doesn't look like clutter. Positives actually gets used. This is the most important thing I can say about it. My old blender was better on paper in some ways, because it had bigger capacity and more settings, but I used it less and less because it was a hassle to get it out and everything. The nutribullet Ultra gets used almost every day because the friction is so low. blending power is excellent. So far it's handled frozen fruit, ice, thick powders, seeds, leafy greens, all without any issue. I've made smoothies, protein shakes, and even a quick vinaigrette in it. The results are consistently smooth. cleanup is minimal. You blend in the cup you drink from. The blade assembly twists off, and the cup goes in the dishwasher. The blade gets a quick hand wash. The whole process takes maybe 60 sec. Compared to disassembling and washing a full-size blender pitcher, lid, and gasket, this is much easier for me. auto shutoff is useful. The automated smoothie cycle blends and then stops on its own, so I don't have to stand there holding anything or watching a timer. I press the circle, walk away, come back to a finished smoothie. On a busy morning, 30 seconds of hands-free time matters more than i thought. Suction cup feet. This is a boring but I'm including it anyway. The base has suction cups on the bottom that keep it from walking across the counter during blending. My old blender vibrated its way across the counter like it was trying to escape. Negatives The noise. I keep coming back to it because the marketing leans into "quietest" and that word is doing a lot of work. It's still kinda loud tbh. Not obnoxiously, but loud enough that early morning blending is a household event whether you want it to be or not. lids can be stubborn. Getting them off sometimes requires more grip strength than feels proportional to the task. It's not every time, but it's often enough that I notice. With the 32 oz cup attached, it's a bit of a tower. If you have low-hanging upper cabinets, you might have to pull it forward to use it. My overall impressions of it This nutribullet ultra blender makes sense for someone who wants one thing blended well, once or twice a day, with minimal cleanup and minimal counter sacrifice. If you're making big batches, feeding a family from one blend cycle, or doing anything that requires more than 32 ounces at a time, this probably isn't the right tool (t's personal-sized for a reason after all). I think it also makes sense if you've already been through the cycle of owning a bigger blender and slowly abandoning it, like i did. If your full-size blender is gathering dust because the activation energy of using it is just slightly too high, the nutribullet ultra solves that . Not because it's a better blender in absolute terms, but it removes enough friction that you actually use it. I don't love it in some crazy way, but I use it almost every day, and I didn't use my old blender almost every day, and that gap is the whole review, really. If you're someone who overthinks purchases (and if you've read this far, you probably are haha :)) I'd say the ultra is a reasonable bet for single-serve blending. It's not flawless because the noise is still a thing, and the lids are occasionally a fight, and I can't speak to long-term durability beyond my own experience so far. But it does the main thing well, and it does it without making me resent the process. submitted by /u/Any_Possession4312 to r/Sosofia [link] [comments]

Torn between Ninja Foodi and Detect Power Pro Blenders
Need to buy a blender soon and I have settled on these two, just can't choose between them. I had been using the Nutribullet 1200w with the jug, but the gear part wore down super fast. The blade was on the bottom with that, and it seemed that I always had to shake the jug multiple times for it to blend up my smoothie properly. I put a lot of leafy greens in my smoothies, which probably made it struggle. Seems the Foodi also has the blade on the bottom, has anybody run into the same problem with this when making smoothies? I make 1-2 large smoothies a day, and that is what I would be primarily using it for. The Power Detect Pro looks like it might be the better option for me considering the blades are vertical along the middle, but seems that the Foodi is rated higher, so I am totally torn between them. Do any of you use either of these machines, and if so, what has your experience been with them? Thanks in advance The Foodi https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07YF8YP5G/ref=ox\_sc\_act\_title\_1?smid=A2OAJ7377F756P&psc=1 Detect Power Pro https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ninja-Blender-Smoothies-Vegetables-TB301UK/dp/B0D8QQLR12/ref=mp\_s\_a\_1\_4?crid=22RUHQE5A3RAV&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.ccHDKexWsH96Bx2cSYY7e1WoZC6eVeg7KLOxG0ZW-4s2ORqjd0KKg3LtrdfGsXws7dxo46ffXMCBjv2Kiw1sfzEbRuKh7DEo9pdkwemwgg9a7t7b9TsXa2qyrZrD85Tq.\_iFJuy6Jx5eD38p7ckRX4xwYd39MsomM51KgVJSKPw8&dib\_tag=se&keywords=ninja+detect+power+pro&qid=1774559265&s=kitchen&sprefix=ninja+detect+power+pro%2Ckitchen%2C272&sr=1-4 submitted by /u/Jim_jim_peanuts to r/Smoothies [link] [comments]

Is the NutriBullet Pro Plus 1200W Really That Powerful for Smoothies and Ice?
Been running the NutriBullet Pro+ 1200 Watt Personal Blender (matte black) for a couple weeks in my kitchen, mostly morning smoothies and a few “how bad can I abuse this thing” tests. I’m not gentle with blenders, and I’m picky about safety, seals, and weird noises. Blending power is legit. That 1200W motor chews through kale, frozen pineapple, frozen cherries, wheat grass, even seedy stuff like blackberries without leaving that gritty sand behind. Smoothie texture comes out impressivly uniform if you use enough liquid. Skimp on liquid and it’ll still blend, but you’ll notice it needs a shake and a re-seat on the base to keep the vortex moving. Pulse function usability is simple: one button, press to pulse, otherwise it runs a pre-programmed cycle and auto shut-off kicks in. The “hands free” idea is nice, though I stay nearby anyway. Speed and efficiency are strong, more like 15 to 25 seconds for most smoothies, and ice and frozen food handling is better than the cheap 900W units I’ve seen stall out. Big ice chunks get smashed fine, but again, a splash more water or milk helps a lot. Noise level: loud. Not jet-engine loud, but it’s a high, sharp blender sound that’ll wake people up in a quiet house. Fan noise stands out to me, and this one has that typical personal-blender whine. Cup sizes and accessories are practical: a 32 oz cup and a 24 oz cup, plus two to-go lids, lip rings, and the extractor blade. Cup size flexibility is great for portion control. Minor gripe, no handled tumbler, and the included travel lids are the weak point. One Amazon reviewer nailed it: the to-go lid fit feels kinda loose, doesn’t give that confident click-seal, and leaks if you invert or shake it. Lid and seal reliability on the blade cap side has been fine for me, but I’m careful to thread it straight and snug. Build quality on the motor base feels solid and heavy for the footprint. Storage is easy since it’s tall but not wide. Suction cups help; it doesn’t wander on the counter. Ease of cleaning is good: quick rinse, or blend warm soapy water for 10 seconds. Dishwasher compatibility is listed as dishwasher safe for cups, though I mostly handwash since heat can haze plastic over time. Durability over time is the question. Lots of folks report long life on older Nutribullets, and the blade design improvements (steeper blade angle) seem to help performance, but the lids feel like the part that’ll fail first. Price to performance is fair if you catch it on sale; at full price it’s fighting with Ninja personal blenders and entry Vitamix territory (power wise, not build). Curious if anyone found a better aftermarket lid that actually seals, or had the locking mechanism wear out after a year or two? submitted by /u/DiveDan77 to r/KitchenStack [link] [comments]

Smoothie Game Changed Forever with This Powerful NutriBullet Pro 900 Blender
Put this through my usual kitchen stress test for a week, and the NutriBullet NutriBullet Pro 900 - Watt Blender (MatteBlack) is basically a compact, manual “push, twist, blend” bullet blender with legit motor punch, plus a cup setup thats actually useful. Motor power and speed: the 900 watt motor feels strong for the size. It spins up fast and gets good vortex action with frozen fruit and ice, but it’s still a single-speed, press-down style control, so “speed options” are more like how long you hold it and whether you pulse. Smoothie texture results: for my normal smoothie (frozen berries, milk, greek yogurt, oats, flax/chia, protein powder) it gets a smooth, drinkable texture pretty quick. Seeds can still leave a slight grainy finish, and it’s not Vitamix-silky. Fibrous greens are where I saw the weakness: spinach can ride the walls and need a few stop-and-shakes to get pulled into the extractor blade. Ingredient versatility and recipe flexibility: it handles ice, frozen strawberries, powders, dressings, and basic veggie blends. Stringy produce and dense, dry loads need more babysitting and more liquid. The included user guide recipes are decent for ideas. Cup sizes and options, blending capacity: you get a 32 oz “colossal” cup plus two 24 oz tall cups, and three flip-top to-go lids. Capacity is fine for one person, maybe two if you split it, but it’s not a batch blender. I found myself doing a blend, pour, re-blend routine on bigger recipes. Lid design and performance: the rubber gaskets seal well until fine powders or seeds get into the sealing surfaces. Testing over the sink saved me once. Also, the little flip-top latch tabs feel fragile; I can see how they snap off if you’re rough in the sink. Ease of cleaning and convenience of use: cleaning is easy, quick soap and water rinse, cups can go top rack dishwasher. Convenience is the main win since you drink straight from the blending cup. Noise level: not silent, but for a high-RPM bullet blender it’s reasonable. Fan noise and blade whine are there, just not obnoxious. Durability and build quality, storage and footprint: compact footprint on the counter, light base, plastic cups feel standard. Shipping damage seems possible if packaging is sloppy; mine arrived fine but I get the complain. Setup and assembly, safety features: setup is minimal, twist blade on, lock into base. It won’t run unless seated correctly, which is the main safety interlock. Customer support experience: didn’t need support, so no data there. Price-to-performance value: priced way closer to entry blenders than premium rigs like Vitamix, and the value is strong if you mainly want daily protein shake, smoothie cups, and fast cleanup. Anybody else noticing gasket leaks or lid tabs breaking over time? submitted by /u/DiveDan77 to r/KitchenStack [link] [comments]

Nutribullet pro+ from the Dec coupons
Im planning to buy a Nutribullet (the one in the December coupon books) for a family member who recently got into breakfast smoothies. He is also very accident-prone in the kitchen. My regular Nutribullet has dull blades (not even sharp ends), so wondering if these also have dull blades. And also if anyone thinks these are a bad choice, given my accident-prone family member. Most comments in other posts tend to say Ninja or Vitamix are better but he doesn’t really need a blender and is a bit scared of very sharp blades after a knife accident. submitted by /u/Minty-Bubbles3539 to r/Costco [link] [comments]

Buying a Nutribullet Pro 900 in Japan
We had a Nutribullet Pro 900 that we bought here in Japan 7 years ago. After a long run of daily smoothie making and several sets of blades it blew a lot sparks and black soot then started smoking yesterday. Figured it would be easy to just pick up another one on Amazon but there appears to be only one seller and the info they provide is contradictory concerning the number of speeds, required voltage (240 and 220 only mentioned) and weight. Plus there are no reviews from Japan. I have contacted the seller asking for clarification but it's already been one day without my smoothie and I'm getting edgy... Has anyone had any experience buying one from Amazon.JP like this? https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/NutriBullet-Special-Watt-Blender-Champagne/dp/B06Y3PS25W/ref=sr_1_5?sr=8-5 Thanks in advance.... If you have previously had the 900 Pro but replaced it with a different brand that stood up to the abuse of daily smoothies please let us know.... submitted by /u/Fresh-Letter-2633 to r/japanresidents [link] [comments]

Nutribullet Pro defective by design
I recently bought a Nutribullet Pro. The internal motor broke down in just a few months. Phone Customer service is non existent and they will not honor the warranty policy. These blenders are designed to fail via planned obsolescence and the customer service is just a shell/front to deny any accountability. After several emails and attempts at reaching someone by phone about honoring their warranty, I gave up. This company is very shady and does not stand behind their product. They will string you along and act like they want to help, they will not follow through. Please do yourself a favour and buy from a reputable company. Vitamix Ascent X3 vs Venturist Pro (Costco) Blender Comparison (Help!)
This is my first time buying a "real" blender now that I'm ready to graduate beyond my trusty Nutribullet personal blender that served me for years. I can't say that I have heavy-duty blender needs, but I do enjoy cooking and am looking into making daily smoothies as well as branching out to things like soups and food processing. Price is not a major limiting factor and I want to have something that performs well and is durable to be a staple appliance in my kitchen for years to come. Although, obviously I don't want to spend extra money just for the sake of doing so if the difference won't be noticeable. I also want to incorporate accessory attachments such as the food processor bundles but that appears available regardless. FYI- this would be for me and my wife and a baby on the way. The two that I'm comparing are the Vitamix Ascent X3 and the Venturist Pro (Costco model). I was able to get the Vitamix Ascent X3 on Amazon during prime week for $450 which seemed like a great deal (normally lists between $600-$650). The Venturist Pro currently sells at Costco for $320. Besides the 64oz vs 48oz containers they both look to have similar motors, features, and compatibility with attachments. Is there any reason to pay an extra $130 for the Ascent X3 over the Venturist Pro? I'm skeptical because the latter retails for about 1/2 the cost of the former, and is still noticeably cheaper even when the X3 is on sale. Looking for help here because I can't tell if the differences are mostly marketing or if there's something important I'm missing. I'm also open to suggestions on other models, and I am still in the return window for the Ascent X3 and have barely touched it since it arrived. What blender do you use? Not loving my Nutribullet ultra
Wondering what blenders people are using, I bought a nutribullet ultra this fall in hopes of upgrading my smoothie making but I’m not really liking it. I almost feel like the motor is too strong? It starts fine but then something happens and the pitch gets higher and sometimes I can smell something? Is this normal with nutribullet or do I have a faulty one? Is it worth trying to get it replaced or replacing the blade? I also kind of miss having speed settings. I do like that it blends into the cup size. Previously I was using a ninja pro 1000w blender but the proportions of the single cups that came with it were too narrow at the mouth and tall to effectively mix and blend a smoothie, things didn’t move and flow and I’d have to shake and stir it to get it smooth, so I’d have to use the full size pitcher every time. Any recommendations? submitted by /u/mermaiddayjob to r/Smoothies [link] [comments]

upgrading from magic bullet to nutribullet pro 900.. a few questions
the magic bullet infomercial is chock full of amazing recipes i would never have thought to make in a blender, such as soups, salsa, omelettes with every ingredient inside the omelette, chopped onions, and so on when i still had my magic bullet (it broke years ago), i was surprised to find that they werent lying, i could actually make all of that in it and stuff like the soups saved me so much money on groceries. i got it mostly for smoothie making but making entire meals in the thing was amazing! can the nutribullet pro 900 do all that too? its not advertised for it, the infomercial seems to say some BS about "nutrient extraction" which google says isnt really any different from blending with a blender (is it?), and its only advertised for making smoothies. so.. can it? submitted by /u/rosie254 to r/Smoothies [link] [comments]
