Thank you for the feedback on the Makita blender design! I'm in too deep to pivot to a warming box so I've incorporated some suggestions into an updated design that should hopefully address the biggest concerns. More in the description.
Link to original post Context: I'm an engineering student doing a design module, where I have to design a product related to meal preparation for a brand/company not currently in that space. Purpose: Construction workers regularly skip meals, or eat nutritionally lacking meals regularly, often due to a lack of access to cooking appliances. A portable blender would allow for convenient high-protein or high-calorie and nutritious meals to be easily prepared without requiring a kitchen. Tl;Dr: A blender that connects to a 18V Makita drill to blend up convenient shakes or smoothies on the go. I realised that the product probably isn't for everyone that works in construction, but it definitely does have its uses for some people. The main points of feedback I got were about cleaning, durability and keeping ingredients cool enough on a hot jobsite. As a result, the bottle has been switched from thick Tritan plastic to a double walled food-grade stainless steel. This will insulate its contents so you can load it up with whatever you want at home at the start of the day, and it will remain cool for when you blend it up fresh later. The metal is also more durable compared to plastic so can withstand more of a beating. A coating on the inside will help with cleaning, just add a bit of water after use and use the blender to rinse out any residue so it doesn't go off before you can get home and clean it properly. I've also redesigned the blender itself, to have a ninja-style impeller on the base with the blades themselves on a separate part so the bottle can be used without the blender attached. The question: Would you use this updated product? Why or why not? (And if you prefer DeWalt or Milwaukee, I've rendered it in yellow or red, but please also tell me why you prefer them over Makita) submitted by /u/Lucky-Reflection-910 to r/Construction [link] [comments]

Ninja Blast Portable Blender Full Review After Weeks of Daily Smoothie Use
I’ve been putting the Ninja BC151BK blast portable blender through the same kind of abuse I give most cordless gadgets: quick weekday smoothies, a couple protein shakes after work, and one “can it handle frozen fruit” test that usually exposes the weak stuff. Price-wise it sits higher than the random no-name USB portable blender crowd, but still way under the premium countertop machines, so I expected decent performance with a few tradeoffs. Blending power is legit for a battery powered personal blender. Protein powder and soft fruit turn into a smooth shake fast, and it’ll chew through mixed frozen fruit better than I expected. Whole frozen strawberries can bog it down and sometimes need more than one 30 second cycle, plus a little shake while running. Handling frozen ingredients is doable, just dont expect Vitamix results out of an 18oz cup. Portability and size are a win: about 18oz vessel capacity, and it’s roughly “tall water bottle” territory. Still, the motor base stays attached, so the weight is noticeable in a bag. Suitability for travel is good for commuting or a hotel, less ideal for ultralight packing. Stability and grip are fine in-hand, and the base feels solid on a counter. Battery life is the biggest question mark. Some folks get realistic use, others report it dying overnight or needing a charge constantly. My unit has been ok, but I’ve seen the same behavior described where it goes from fine to dead with no real low battery warning. Noise level is way better than a full size Ninja countertop blender, more “buzz” than “jet engine,” which matters at 6am. Charging convenience is modern USB-C, but it will not blend while charging, which is annoying if it dies mid-smoothie. That limitation feels like a safety call, but it’s still a pain. Lid and sip spout design is clever: easy-open sip lid, carry handle, and it locks open so it doesn’t smack you in the nose. The plastic snap action feels sketchy though, like I’m about to crack it every time. Leakproof performance has been solid for me so far, assuming the seal is seated right. Ease of cleaning is mixed. Dishwasher safe parts help, and blending soapy water works, but water running down toward a battery base always makes me a little nervous. Blade quality and safety seem good: stainless steel, removable blade assembly, sharp enough to notice. Maintenance and care basically equals “don’t soak the motor base, keep the charging port cover snug, rinse right away.” Durability of materials feels better than cheap portables, thick plastic vessel, sturdy base. Warranty and support is a 1 year limited warranty, and reports say Ninja support can actually replace a bad unit without a big fight, which matters with lithium battery stuff. Curious how other people’s battery has held up after a few months, and whether anyone’s lid hinge started cracking or loosening over time. submitted by /u/DiveDan77 to r/KitchenStack [link] [comments]

BLENDi Pro+ portable blender - my thoughts
I’ve been on a weight loss / mass building journey since March and protein smoothies & shakes have been a staple of my diet. And as a cyclist and ex-triathlete, I’ve been drinking Ultragen recovery shakes regularly for 15+ years. I’ve had a Ninja blender for 8+ years that I use for smoothies and Ultragen, and a Bolde shaker bottle that I use for simple protein shakes. Both work great but I wanted to see if I could consolidate down to a single bottle, so I got a BLENDi Pro+. And for my job I move between home office and various remote locations pretty regularly so the idea of a portable blender is appealing. The good: It’s plenty powerful for ice, greek yogurt, and frozen fruit. I haven’t tried anything more substantial but I’m pretty confident it can take more than I’m throwing at it. It blends my stuff easily without bogging down. It’s honestly pretty great to re-blend a shake as I’m drinking it. I pulse the blender for a couple of seconds before I take a sip and my drink stays frothy all the way through to the end. Even just run of the mill protein shakes (protein powder and water) taste better through to the end of the shake because it stays blended. It comes with a separate storage container that you could use for powder or whatever if you’re traveling. (That said, I have a stackable set of baby formula containers for traveling with protein powder that works really well). Charges via USB-C, which will be awesome for travel. The bad: Nothing is truly “bad” but 2 annoyances are the size, and not being dishwasher safe. I knew going in that 17 ounces might not be large enough and sure enough, I’ve had to cut down my greek yogurt smoothie recipe in order for it to fit. But I have kids in college that would certainly make use of the Pro+ so I think I’ll pass it down to one of them and get the XL BLENDi for myself. And not being dishwasher safe isn’t a huge deal, just rinse it right away before it gets dried and gross. (To be clear, I didn’t expend the blender to be dishwasher safe I’m referring to the bottle and lid.) submitted by /u/CincyTriGuy to r/diet [link] [comments]

Worrying -Safety concern with ambiano portable blender.
Does anyone have a direct contact for a complaint email for Aldi. It use to work only with the bottle part of the blender screwed on. Now is essentially a weapon that can turn on whilst being washed/wiped. Extremely concerned about a safety issue with the portable blender. Want to raise it as soon as possible. Bought in the uk middle aisle. submitted by /u/EngineeredCut to r/aldi [link] [comments]

Electric shaker vs electric portable blender?
I recently bought the Voltrx electric shaker bottle and tried it out in my Huel this morning. With 17oz of milk, the first scoop blended well. After adding the second scoop, however, the consistency was way too thick to be mixed. Has anyone had this experience with Voltrx? I'm starting to look into portable blenders with blades like BlendJet submitted by /u/JustSitDownPlease to r/Huel [link] [comments]
