Not sure of the proper tag. Wondering if anyone has ever received this. I've been contracted with them for over a year and just added 3 state licenses so perhaps that triggered some sort of audit. But it seems very suspicious to come from a potential client? I've already emailed support to ask about this and told them if this is real, this is incredibly unprofessional. However, support takes *forever* to respond so who knows when I'll hear back. I gave Sondermind the benefit of the doubt because they worked for me, despite the 4-6 week response time after you put in a support ticket. Hey friends, I have a question for those who are using sondermind. I’ve been using it to bill since 2023 with only small hiccups but it has gotten SO MUCH worse for me in the new year. I’ve had to call every time I have issues as the support tickets never get answered, I’ve gotten hung up on and had some snotty representatives and when I ask to talk with a supervisor about some genuine concerns I get told I’ll get a call back but never do. My clients have began to have billing issues- what sent me over the edge today was SM charging a client for multiple January sessions because they (sondermind) billed the insurance under the wrong name, got a denial, and never notified my client just charged them. My question is- what are you guys doing to combat issues here? Is anyone else having the same issues? I tried setting up an account and matching with people about a week ago because it was recommended by my psychiatrist as they take my insurance. My first problem is that everyone is virtual. I need in person therapy, it just works better for me. Sondermind listed a bunch of people that were in my state and said they offered “virtual or in person”, but I got no actual option to choose when I booked. So I had to message them and be like “hey where are you, can we meet in person?” Only for them to tell me they’re 2 hours away. After going through that with a bunch of people I gave up. NOW I’m getting calls from random numbers saying “oh we matched on Sondermind, I was reaching out to set up a time to talk” when I actually want nothing to do with them. And I just got an email saying a session has been booked when I didn’t actually book anything. There’s no way to delete your account, you have to contact customer support, which I heard is awful. I’ve submitted two help tickets to have my account deactivated already! I am curious to know some people's thoughts about Sondermind long term? I am part of Headway and just signed up for Sondermind. Their matching/referral system seems super funky and most matches don't go anywhere. People don't usually respond. I have received 2 clients, and they just aren't great matches from people who find me through Psychology Today or other avenues, which seems to be people who fit my niche more. , What has been your experience if you've been on the Sondermind for a while? The so called “therapy” I get from Kaiser is not helpful. I told a Kaiser therapist I was having su!c!dal ideation and their response was to change my thoughts. I tried to bring up a past traumatic event and the therapist told me to move past it. Kaiser is big on pushing people into groups where the facilitators read word for word off of a worksheet and tell you to think differently. I’m so beyond frustrated with Kaiser’s mental health care, or lack thereof. Kaiser diagnosed me with a severe mental illness, but their solutions are to change my thoughts. I feel I need weekly in-person therapy, but Kaiser says I’m fine without it. I filed a grievance, but Kaiser replied saying my needs can be met with in-network services. I know I’m not alone. When everything is going well with billing, I don't have many issues with Sondermind. But if I have a question or issue, like I am dealing with now, I am forced to wait at least 8 business days to get a response. I can't bill for two visits now nor can I get ahold of a human. I am currently on hold with them, even though all the options are for clients and not providers. This company has seriously become a joke when it comes to supporting us. I really want to get away from using them. I got this email yesterday about their new chatbot. The idea that because people use things like Chat GPT in place of a therapist, mental health agencies/ companies, etc should offer something similar, makes me want to get out immediately. There's evidence from reddit that some of the comments on recent threads that spoke positively about Sondermind were bots or karma-manipulation accounts, as the comments turned into "Removed by reddit" within hours. About 2 months ago I joined multiple platforms on a bit of a trial period to see which ones I felt were user friendly, did not feel like a revolving door for clients seeking care, paid our worth and provided decent referrals (not just in number but in clients who were appropriate for therapy). Sondermind- I get so many referrals from them, it took less then a month to get credentialed with about 30 different insurance providers and at about the one month mark all the referrals started coming in. About a third of those referrals actually book and all have continued to follow up. You have the option to decline referrals- which I love because sometimes clients land in front of us and we do not have the expertise they need. Billing is an absolute breeze and the platform is all inclusive- you can launch the zoom sessions from your calendar, complete your note, claim and treatment planning all from the same screen. It also has 2 way sync so you do not need to take extra steps to make sure all your calendars are up to date. (they offer a referral bonus for new providers- if you are interested let me know.) Tava- I ended up turning off referrals for them because the pay out was too low. The platform seemed easy enough to navigate and I will keep it updated incase things slow down and I need a new referral source. They credentialed me pretty quickly as well. Rula- Rule will only credential you in one state, (I am licensed in 4). The process was pretty streamlined but the on boarding was very time intensive- it was about 4 hours of classes and quizzes. I brought one of my own clients over because I was able to bill her insurance but because they do not have 2 way calendar sync it is not worth the extra work to keep an open schedule with them. I pretty much stopped using Sondermind because my caseload is full and they pay less, but I left my profile on there in case I want to use it in the future. However, I just realized they changed my bio?? It looks like they used AI to update it and it pisses me off. I’m wondering if anyone has experience with using Sondermind for a few extra clients? I’m currently with Rula and so far my only complaint is not enough referrals but I’m not sure if that’s because I am a LPC based in PA, or I’m too niche or what. Other than that the platform is super user friendly and admin work is rather easy. I’m just looking for some guidance to see how Sondermind compares as I have a consult with them tomorrow. You know how some scenes don’t just make you cry or laugh they do something to you? I’m not talking about the obvious ones where the music swells and the main character dies dramatically. I mean the quiet moments. The ones that sneak up on you and stay lodged in your brain like a memory that isn’t even yours. For me, it was that scene in Into the Wild when he writes “happiness is only real when shared.” I don’t know why, but that hit me. Like, really hit me. I think I paused the movie and just sat there. It made me rethink how I was living my life. Or maybe the last five minutes of Her, where everything is just… still. And sad. And somehow comforting. Anyway I’m curious. I'm a solo private practice. Though I'm paneled with insurances, I also use Rula and SonderMind. They aren't ideal, but they also aren't BetterHelp, and I find them generally more reliable and consistent than PT or marketing for getting new clients. Rula and SonderMind both send surveys to clients immediately after sessions. They surveys have PHQ-9, GAD-7, and C-SSRS - and a "Therapeutic Alliance" rating. For SonderMind it is a 0-9 rating, for Rula it is 1-12. These ratings are collected after every single session and directly correlate with how you are viewed by the algorithm that matches you to new clients. Because they directly correlate with my ability to get new clients, these ratings are haunting me. What is most difficult is that the clients I have good rapport with simply stop answering these surveys. They continue attending, we have good sessions, the surveys become just another spam email. Also challenging is how these systems define a therapeutic rupture. For SonderMind, it is a rating of 8 or below. The highest possible rating is 9, so anything less than absolute perfection pulls down your referral rate. Newer clients are the ones answering the surveys and many understandably respond with 7 or 8 because rapport is being built. Rula is out of 12, which is a bizarre number - many clients initially rate a 10. That is below the expected minimum of 11 and results in less referrals. I retain about 90% of clients after the first session. I am quite confident in my ability and worth in this field. But these ratings are really impacting me and I have begun to see less referrals just as my rent has gone up. I feel very uncomfortable soliciting long-term clients to "like and subscribe." This is a rant. I know the solution is to move away from these VC platforms, but it just isn't that easy sometimes. Edit: Here's the rating scales and questions: SonderMind: "We discussed the things most important to me" "I feel understood and respected by my provider" "I understand and agree with my treatment plan" Each question rated 1-3 for a total out of 9. Anything below 9 is considered a poor score. Rula: "I feel I am working together with my provider on mutual goals in treatment." "I am confident in my provider's ability to help me." "My provider and I understand each other." Hi a few months ago I was going through a suicidal mindset so I tried to find a therapist and came across sondermind it seemed great I had a quick introduction call with my therapist and thought it would really help until my appointments started just to preface at the time I was unemployed but searching for a job I was(and still am) on my parents insurance about 30 minutes into my first appointment the therapist started discussing billing which made sense so I explained that I had not been charged and according to the app would not receive a charge for another month or so and I explained that I was insured so everything on my side was handled great right.. so my next appointment starts and she's repeating literally every question we covered within the first appointment and im a little frustrated because I really wanted to start working towards healthy coping mechanisms to how I've been feeling but it's fine then my third appointment she spent 40 minutes again asking how I would be paying I didn't even get to fully go over everything that I was dealing with mentally and I gained literally nothing from the appointment by the 4th appointment I'm already looking into finding a different therapist but I want to give the original another chance I tell her I have a job interview and the life is finally looking good again she then starts asking about how I would be paying her again at this point I just gave up on therapy overall because she completely ruined the whole therapy thing for me she didn't help me at all and only cared about how much she'd make and how I'd be paying that's all for my rant but honestly she shouldn't be a therapist if she doesn't care about helping people and I was charged recently but I locked my card and I'm trying to figure out what I need to do to avoid paying at this point since I didn't receive any therapy since all we really talked about was how I'd be paying submitted by /u/Famous_Moth_8430 to r/Sondermind [link] [comments]

I work for a non-profit CMH (salary is insulting, but that’s where I am while I hold out hope for PSLF). On the side, I have a part-time telehealth practice. I’ve been with Sondermind for about 8 months, and I’m getting frustrated with their lack of referrals and some of their other BS. I’m only looking to see up to 8 clients per week, offering sessions two nights per week, so it shouldn’t be that difficult. I keep getting emails from Headway about their pay rate being higher than Sondermind. But I’ve read a lot of the posts on here about them. Are they the same business as Sondermind? Edit: WAS a therapist with Sondermind. :) To all travelers that come across this message: I started working with Sondermind a couple of years ago to launch my private practice. In the beginning, it was GREAT. They laid off a shitload of people late last year, and it has gone to shit since then. I have clients constantly complaining about billing and insurance claim issues, and they can never get through to anyone in customer service. The website is so buggy that I barely log into it anymore other than to submit notes. Searching "sondermind" on reddit brought up Software Engineer job listings that have been posted for months. This is crazy, given the number of experienced software engineers in Denver. They must have a terrible reputation in that industry, too. I've moved the overwhelming majority of my caseload out of there, but definitely wanted to share my experience for any other Therapist redditors (and potential clients) that may consider Sondermind. I think about this sometimes. I know it has a term, but I can’t think of it offhand. It blows my mind sometimes. I let myself get into a rut where I only notice what is happening in my life. Then out of nowhere I wonder what the person I just passed on the sidewalk is up to. Or the person that just passed me on the highway. Are they going to work? I wonder what they do. Are they meeting friends? I wonder what their friend group is like, what do they do for fun? Are they on their way to meet their family? I wonder what kind of stories they will share.
