What Are The Best Heavy-Duty Shoes for Women?
Hello, I'm trying to find some all black shoes for work. I work as an Arcade Technician and Supervisor. This requires a lot of walking/being on my feet, as well as crouching down/squatting. I've been struggling to find some shoes that last a long time. I like 'high top' style shoes and in the past I've tried multiple different versions of Converse; fabric, leather, normal, wide etc. Nike trainers and Vans. The Vans lasted the longest but I have an issue with all of these shoes where, because I have to crouch down a lot, and therefore bend the shoe, they keep breaking and ripping on the sides and also, inside the shoe, the back will wear down and the sole where my heel is. At the moment I'm rocking some Converse and all of the above has happened within 4 months so they're giving me some nasty blisters. Anyway, what would you recommend as some good work shoes? They have to be all black due to company policy :/ I think I want to branch into more like construction worker type shoes since I think they'll hopefully last longer. I'm a size 7 women's, I have thought about trying mens shoes, if I can't find suitable women's ones, as I do seem to have a wider than average foot but I'm not completely sure on what size that would be as different sites on Google give me different answers. Thank you! submitted by /u/NatNatKeens to r/AskUK [link] [comments]

I’m a 5’2” 29M, wondering how to improve my wardrobe in the least expensive ways possible
(The pics get older as you swipe) Most of my life has been about me trying to find the right clothes to suit my height (and thighs) while catering to the environment of like-minded people I’ve been around, but when I got out of college in 2019, I stopped caring as much about how I looked in OTHERS’ eyes, and started dressing for how I think I like to look, while still making comfort top priority. However, being 29 and now single for the last two years after breaking off a three-year engagement and a six-month rebound back in 2024, I’ve been thinking about getting back out there. The thing is that if women (that I have yet to meet) look my way, I feel it’s in negative judgment of my height, hair (I can’t seem to get away from the low-fade and side-part or middle part), or my outfits most times, and while I still mainly only care about how I like my outfits, I still want to have some better level of appeal to women than I do. Some personal background: Most of my free time is spent around the more culturally rich, skate-party side of the roller skating world. As a result, most of my wardrobe is streetwear (plain loose shorts, different denim pants, loose and tight basic t-shirts, hoodies, vans, nike dunks, nike running shoes, etc.), because I get my blood moving pretty easy resulting in overheating under anymore than one layer while skating. Knowing this, are my outfits at least not taking away from my appeal? If they are, how can I style myself better while keeping in mind the economy, my hobby and the scene it comes with, and what my wardrobe already comprises at this point? I have a small ( submitted by

Comfy/casual goth shoes for women?
For reference, on a lazy day where I don’t feel like wearing platforms, I usually throw on my old skool vans but they don’t seem goth enough for me lol. (Got used to Vans thanks to the emo days) I’m looking for a casual shoe to throw on for errands etc. but I’m not a ballet flat/mary jane person all the time bc wearing shoes without socks gives me sensory issues sometimes. got me some "womens shoes"
im of the opinion that having gendered shoe sizes are dumb, but large womens (10) is much easier to find than a small mens (7-8). i couldnt find the shoes i wanted for the life of me! i originally wanted blue patchwork vans, but they literally dont exist anywhere! not to mention that my shoe size is considered small for a male. so i swallowed my pride and got womens shoes off ebay. they fit great! i love the flowers and colors so much! time to be a cute boy in my cute shoes submitted by /u/Alpha_Delta310 to r/FTMfemininity [link] [comments]

A Chinese Hillbilly's 30-Year Perspective on China
I’m a chinese from a rural village in Southern China. I stumbled upon this Sub and found that lot of people here never actual been to China, less likely they have been to rural China, which still take up most part of china. so I want to share what I’ve seen and heard over the last thirty years to show you a slice of the rural China—in real life. Not very good in English, please excuse the grammar mistakes. I grew up in a small village in Southern China. a bit isolated. The population merely past 1,000. Everyone in the village have the same surname. As a kid, I thought the whole world had the same surname until like 7 or 8 years old, when a girl with a different surname move to our village, this thing reshaped my worldview, like, "there is actual other people outside our village?" Beside being isolated, the village was dirt-Poor. How poor? We had no Flush Toilet, no, no Flush Toilet, no underground pipe system. Every household had two big buckets. one for the liquid human waste, one for the solid waste, Aka fecal. when the liquid waste bucket was full, we took it out to the fields to water the crops. When the poop bucket was full, well, some with morality will carry it to a public pit. some would just dump it onto the street. one thing I learn about poverty, if you can't afford food, you can't afford morality. so, most go to the street. so as a school child, commuting to school took extreme caution, you never knew what you may step on. the worse thing is, when it rain, the alley would became a small river of fecal and piss, you had to walk like a ballet dancer to avoid them. The hygiene was bad, the education was worse. We had one class, one teacher. The teacher was short, we nickname him Mr shorttie, Mr shorttie only finished middle school, that already crown him the most educated person in the village. He taught writing, Math, and sport, basically everything. Mr shorttie had like six daughters, he beated his wife a lot because she can't gave him a son to carry his blood line. When I was in 6th grade, the government said we had to learn English. But Mr shorttie only knew the 26 letters of the alphabet. So, He only teach the alphabet. Mr shorttie had three teaching skills: the Belt whip, the Face slap, and the knee Kick. personally, I think the last one hurt the most. Our school was just a brick house with a tile roof. When it rained, it leaked. Once, a typhoon took down a tree onto the roof, tiles rained down and smashed two kids. the school had no money to hire cleaners, so they hire us intead, zero pay, of course. We spent like a week to clean up the rubble. Then, a few HongKonger donated some money and built us a new school. 3 stories concrete building, freshly painted. to show the HongKongers how grateful we were, the school arrange a show, let us kids dance and sing out our gratitude. In a rehearsal, I fell from stage, broke my left arm, and missed the performance. but anyway, I’m still grateful to them, finally a solid rooftop above our heads. Infrastructure was bad. Most roads were covered by dust and muds, when the wind blow, the dust flow. When I get older, a fresh concrete paved road was built, but seldom any car come by. I once dropped a basket of fruits in the middle of the road, after I pick up all the fruits, not one car came by. the only busy time of the road is the double sun festival, a lot of HongKongers would drive back to the village and pay respect to our ancestors. sometimes, their kids came back too. We mainland kids were mostly barefeet, HongKong kids wears white Nike shoes, white as snow, holding toys like gameboys, like creatures from another dimension. About HongKongs, a lot of them used to be mainlander, in hard times like the culture revolution (60s) or the great leap forward(50s). Some escaped to HongKong for better life. HongKong belonged to England back then. there was a well guarded border between the the mainland and HongKong. for the trespassors, the guards' attitude was "shot first, ask questions later", crossing the border was life risking. but a lot of our villagers risked it, including my great uncle, he escape to HongKong way before I was born. my father wanted to follow. he scolded my father: "you stayed! If I died at the border, you have to live to continue the family line!". He made it through the border, but things didn't work out for him in HongKong, he fell into gambling, never saved any money, never married. years later, he died alone in his coffin sized "apartment" in HongKong. when we buried him, a man showed up claiming to be his son, but when he found out there were nothing to inherit, he disappear, not leaving a "good bye". for some other villagers made it to HongKong, things work out fine, some made it big, some made it small, but still a lot richer than lives in the mainland. And when they have money, they want women. lot of them would come back to the village to seek mistress. lot of mainland young women would like to be their mistress, no shame, because when you can't afford food, you can't afford morality. those women were even proud to be their mistress, with the allowance given by the HongKongers, they can support the family. and because the wealth gap was so huge, even you were a construction worker or a truck driver in HongKong, you can easily afford a few mistress back in mainland. this had been a fashion, an advanced modern HongKong life style. Another fashion from HongKong was drugs. heroin or ketamine, we called it the "white powder". back in the 90s these "white powder" were popular in the village, lot of people tried it. you can found used needles on the street, or even in the toilet of my school. my cousin got hooked, he used to be a muscular man, but drugs ate him to the bone, we can't afford rehabilitation center, so his father built him one, a small wooden cabin in the middle of the crop field, they chained him there, fed him, changed his diapers, until he didn't wanted drugs. in the night, my cousin would scream and cursed like an animal, woke me up, my father told me that's the drug demon in him howling. And then the government decided to destroy drug business. in the middle school, a public trial was held in the play ground of the town, all the students were there. we saw a few prisoners were handcuffed and forced on the knee, there was a judge declaring their crime, "XXX, XX years old, drug seller, XX kilograms sold, according to law XX, death!!", "XXX, XX years old, human trafficker, XX boys sold, death!!" people cheers. after declaring all the crimes, the police took them in a van and sent them to execution. and then there were chalk slogan on the street walls like "Death for drug sellers and human traffickers". seem like it work, I didn't meet too much drug abuser ever since. later I finish high school, got admitted to college, the tuition fee were 5760 rmb per year, around 800 dollars. I worried about it. but the village government awarded me 10000 RMB, which cover the first year. and then later, China joined WTO, my father got better off, and I don't have to worried about the tuition fee ever since. the infrastructure in the village also improve, concrete roads everywhere, there is even a traffic light in gateway of the village. we didn't ever have road, and now we have one traffic light. not much, but thing definitely got better. Less women were willing to be mistress of HongKongers now, because they would ask for more payment. I wrote a lot. what I am trying to say is, a lot of anti-china people don't seem to really know China, they don't know what happened these years. When I was poor, I saw no freedom fighters desending from helicopters to lift us out of poverty. When we run on the street bare feeted, I saw no human rights fighters coming to give us shoes and foods. When the village were flooded by drugs, I saw no super heroes flying here to save us. And when some, I mean some HongKonger say they missed the "good old days", I know what they were talking about, it's "a taxi driver can afford 3 mistress" good old days. and what they told me? When I was a teenage, I saw some books telling me we were poor, because we deserve it, it's something in our blood, something in our bone that make us inferior. that made me hate myself as a chinese. now, seeing things got better, I became proud of being a chinese. but some people, which, lots of them are chinese, are yelling "NOOO! stop being proud, you are still inferior, keep hating yourself, keep being ashamed of your slit eyes." And I say NO, I not ashamed of who I am, you should be. submitted by /u/jinying896 to r/China [link] [comments]

My Story: What Happened to Me on the Day of My Adjustment of Status Interview and How ICE Arrested Me.
On November 12, 2025, at 8:00 AM, I went to my adjustment of status interview with my U.S. citizen husband and my son. We arrived at the San Diego USCIS building at around 7:35 AM. The security guards asked for our IDs and appointment letters, and once everything was checked, we were allowed inside. We went up to the second floor where they took my photo and told us to wait until our name was called. Around 8:30 AM, we were called in for the interview. Everything felt normal at first. The officer asked questions for our I-130 petition, and then moved on to the I-485 questions about my background and immigration history. When we were almost finished, I noticed the officer signaling to someone outside the door, but I didn’t think anything of it. I assumed she was communicating with her coworkers. After we completed all the questions, she asked us to sign on the small screen. Then she asked if I had any updated photos or documents to add to my file. I had plenty of new family pictures, so I gave them to her. She stepped out— and that’s when everything changed. Two ICE agents came in. I was confused and shocked. They told me they were there to arrest me. They never showed any warrant. My husband and my son stood there frozen, not understanding what was happening. I immediately started crying. My husband hugged me and reminded me not to say anything until we talked to a lawyer. Before they handcuffed me, I asked if I could hug my son because he was behind me crying. The officer allowed it, but he sighed loudly and raised his eyebrows as if it annoyed him. That broke my heart even more. They escorted me down to the basement. I thought they would place me into a van right away, but instead, they changed my handcuffs and put chains from my hands to my waist and then down to my ankles. I cried so loud. I felt humiliated. I’m not a criminal. They placed me in the van with three men already inside. I was the first woman. I overheard the agents saying they were going back to pick up more people. I kept crying, having an anxiety attack, asking where we were going because I needed my medication. They just kept saying, “We’re leaving soon,” even though we sat in that van for more than two hours. Eventually, they drove us to the ICE detention center and separated the men and women. There were 25 of us arrested from USCIS interviews that same day, 7 women and 18 men. They kept us in a freezing cold room until 4 AM. It was traumatic, humiliating, and terrifying. After that, they shackled us again hands, waist, ankles and took us to the Otay Mesa Detention Center. We arrived around 5 AM. For the next 17 hours, they kept moving us from one cold room to another, over and over. None of us had criminal records, yet we were treated like criminals. Later, the paperwork they gave us listed the reason for arrest as “visa overstayed.” We were all confused because we believed that once you have an active adjustment of status case as the spouse of a U.S. citizen, overstays are forgiven. Instead, they kept transferring us from room to room every hour for 34 hours before placing us into a unit with about 150 people. I cried constantly. The fear, the cold, the helpless feeling it was overwhelming. For the next two days, more groups arrived: 10 people, 7 people, 8 people, 5 people, all arrested from USCIS interviews. Eventually, I went before a judge who granted me a $1,500 bond. Even the judge was shocked and asked the district attorney if any of us had criminal records. They couldn’t even look at him because none of us did. No tickets, no criminal records, nothing. After 20 days in detention, I was released with an ankle monitor. Being home with my family is a blessing, but it breaks my heart every day to see this device on my leg, making me feel like a criminal. My kids cry when they see it, and that hurts me more than anything. What has been even more painful is how some people react to our stories. Some kept saying, “There’s no way this happened,” or “There must be more to the story,” or “They wouldn’t arrest people with no criminal records.” They didn’t want to believe us. But if anyone doubts it, please search online it’s all over the news now. Google and youtube "ice arresting people in san diego USCIS". This happened to many families. During my detention, I met several people who became my friends, We all shared the same experience, arrested at USCIS while doing everything the right way. Despite everything, I’m grateful to be home. We still have court hearings ahead, and I’m praying for strength and justice. To anyone going through this, please know: you’re not alone. Stay strong, have faith, and pray for everyone facing the same nightmare. I’ve actually been traveling in and out of the U.S. since 2021 with my kids, always following the rules and never overstaying. My children can only travel during their school breaks, so we usually stay for about 30–45 days each visit. For context, I am from Asia. Also, the day after they arrested me, our I-130 was approved. but there has still been no update on my I-485. I think it’s because I was already detained, so now the judge will be the one to decide on my I-485. I’ve stopped replying to rude, judgmental, closed-minded comments because I don’t want to argue. That’s not why I’m sharing my story. I’m actually grateful for everyone who appreciated my post, because I wrote it to spread awareness, especially for people who are in the same shoes. I want them to be prepared. I don’t want anyone to end up where I was feeling blind, overwhelmed, and thinking I wouldn’t make it. My issue isn’t that they arrest people. It’s the way some officers treat people, the way they chain us like criminals. That experience stays with you. It changes you. And I don’t want anyone else to go into this without knowing what can really happen. I never intended to stay in the U.S. or adjust my status on a B2 visa. I had no plans to live here permanently. I actually had a very comfortable life in my home country, I was earning more than my husband cause i owned and run my own businesses, and everything in my life was stable. But everything changed in ways I never expected. I had been visiting the U.S. regularly since 2021, and this trip was supposed to be just another short visit. But everything changed because life threw things at me that I wasn’t prepared for. When my dad passed away in 2024, my world just collapsed. The grief, the depression, the emptiness, it was too much. I came here because I needed emotional support from my partner. I thought being with him would help me heal, but my mental health actually got worse. Eventually, I was diagnosed with major depressive disorder while I was here, and I began therapy. I have all the documents and medical records for that. My husband didn’t want me to go back home while I was in such a fragile state. He was scared for me. He wanted me safe, supported, and close to him. That’s when he made the decision that we should stay and apply for adjustment of status, hoping we could build some stability and start a life together in a healthier place. submitted by /u/DianeMT_258 to r/USCIS [link] [comments]

ISO size 12 Women’s shoes
Why is it so hard to find size 12 women’s shoes in Edmonton that don’t look like they are for older women?? Everywhere I find that carries them they are either sold out in size 12 or the shoes look like something I’ll need when I’m older for comfort. (No shade, I’m just not ready to step into my Skechers days yet.) Every store being sold out tells me that there is a hot commodity for this shoe size, so I don’t understand the low stock. Can anyone help a gal out who only gets to wear men’s and unisex shoes?? I have a few pair of custom vans but I just want a cute pair of sandals that actually fit and are flattering!!!! Thanks in advance!!! The stores I know of are: Penningtons and sometimes I get lucky at Winners submitted by /u/carealotcastle to r/Edmonton [link] [comments]

Sad start to the day..
I’ve lived in London for the past 10 years and have somehow managed to avoid most of the dangers. This morning I was walking to work and a man who was on the other side of the road, walking in the opposite direction, all of a sudden decided we were both going to the same place, and started walking the same way as me?! I instantly knew something was wrong purely because this had never happened before. He kept looking back to make sure I was still behind him. I was on the other side of the road but he was marking me. I stupidly detoured and walked a different way, he must’ve ran to catch up with me. My whole body started to shut down ahaha, I went and hid on someone’s doorstep and called the police. They got there in minutes thank god.. a car and a van, I was so embarrassed because I felt like I was wasting their time but they assured me it was the right thing to do. A girl came in to work a few hours later and said she had also been followed by someone with a similar description to the person who had followed me earlier which is just fucked. I told her to report him even if it’s not the same person, there could be some network in operation. Just found it odd that we’d both experienced the same thing. My colleague also said she saw a post on fb warning other women about a man with a similar description. Nobody should feel like their life is in jeopardy in broad day light, spent the whole time walking home looking over my shoulder and think the only way I’m gonna make it to and from work is by uber and it’s a 10minute walk. I’m lucky to be writing this post tbh anything could’ve happened. I know it might seem dramatic.. anyone have any advice on how I should protect myself? EDIT Description: He was around 5’8-5’11 I wasn’t close enough to him to see if I was taller than him or not. White/Eastern European He was wearing a navy cap, a silver chain, Black winderbreaker type jacket with white stripe on the arms. Jeans that looked like they were from the market. I didn’t see the shoes he was wearing. I presume he was bald under the cap as there was no hair coming out of it. I think I saw him again yesterday. He works at a car wash near Loughborough junction. submitted by /u/HatoriHanzoishi to r/london [link] [comments]

AITA for declining being a bridesmaid bc I can’t handle wearing a dress?
I 36 female was asked by my sister in law to be her bridesmaid. First off let me say that I love and respect my sister in law. She is an amazing and kind person and I’m so grateful to have her in my life. We are very close and get along 100% of the time with little to no disagreements about anything. She recently asked me if I would be one of her bridesmaids and I asked her if I would have to wear a dress. She said yes and I declined. I explained to her I don’t feel comfortable at all wearing dresses. Dresses make me feel exposed almost like I’m naked. Even the thought of wearing a dress makes feel nauseous and panicked. On top of that I have really bad social anxiety and don’t do well standing up in front of crowds. I was a bridesmaid for my sister about 14 years ago where I had to wear a dress and stand in front of a lot of people and it was nerve wracking. The anxiety and feeling of being exposed and stared at was almost too much for me to bare. I told my sister in law about this and she said “you did that for your sister?” I explained that the only reason I did was bc my other sister declined to be her bridesmaid and I felt obligated to even though I was freaking out on the inside. My sister in law has offered all kinds of bridesmaid attire ideas like wearing leather jackets but all the ideas she has are dresses and I really don’t feel comfortable at all wearing one. The only times I have ever worn a dress was when I was around the ages of 5-6 for picture day at school, prom(which I was forced to go to with my friend bc my boyfriend felt bad for him not having a date to go with) and my sisters wedding. For even more context I’m not a girly girl, never have been. As a child I played with Barbies, Batman and ninja turtles. Where most girls wanted to dress up as princesses for Halloween I wanted to be Batman and Donatello. I’ve always had mostly guy friends bc I just feel I relate more to guys than girls. I’ve always had a “dude” sense of humor. Dark, fart and dick jokes. I don’t paint my nails and dress up in girly outfits. I rarely even wear makeup these days. I mostly wear tee shirts, leggings and hoodies bc I feel most comfortable in that. I know it’s hard for my sister in law to understand bc she is stunningly beautiful and wears dresses all the time and she feels good wearing that kind of stuff. When I wear a dress I just feel naked and anxious. I know her wedding day is her day and it’s not about me and I feel really bad for declining her offer to be her bridesmaid. At the same time I don’t feel like I should have to put myself in a position that makes me feel exposed and on the verge of tears and vomiting. Am I the asshole? EDIT This is only my second Reddit post ever so I’m not really sure how to update in order to try to answer everyone’s questions. Let me just say first and foremost I am a straight woman. I’m not confused about my gender. I’m just not a feminine woman. I lean more masculine, not to the point where I get mistaken for a man but I have had quite a few lesbian women approach me thinking I was a lesbian based on how I look and carry myself. For my own wedding I was horrified of the idea of having to be in front of a bunch of people and wear a dress so my husband and I opted to get married by a justice of the peace in a backyard with 2 witnesses. I wore gray skinny jeans, men’s vans high top sneakers, a TMNT hoodie and makeup. I do have problems with my anxiety. I have my whole life. I’m not trying to over use that word or use it as a cop out. It’s literally been a life long struggle for me. Some things are worse than others for me. Wearing a dress being one of them. I feel about as uncomfortable as my husband would wearing a dress. It’s not something that feels right to me and for the few times I have worn dresses in my life it was never my choice. I have seen a therapist in the past and I loved it. It actually helped a lot bc I used to let my anxiety turn into anger which I know longer do. The anxiety of wearing a dress and standing in front of a crowd doesn’t affect my daily life bc I choose to not wear dresses and stand in front of crowds. These things are not things I feel that I need to do in my life so I avoid them. My SIL is well aware of the kind of woman I am and she knew asking me to wear a dress was more than likely going to be a no but she did ask me bc she wants to include me. I get that and I love her for it. I just know if I wore a dress at her wedding I would be having some really bad anxiety issues and I don’t want my issues to get in the way of her having a nice wedding bc wedding days can be very stressful especially for the bride. I did tell her if she really wants me as a bridesmaid I would be much more comfortable in a suit or dress pants and a dress shirt but she said she wants bridesmaid dresses which is fine and I don’t expect her to change her vision for me bc it’s not my day. That’s why I declined her offer to be a bridesmaid. She has since continued to try to get me to agree to wear a dress and I have continued to tell her it makes me uncomfortable. She hasn’t been mean about it or anything. She’s just very set on it. I have offered to make her bouquet and help decorate her wedding and I’m most definitely going to be there attending as a guest. I’m more than likely just going to buy some black slacks, a simple dress top and some black dress shoes to wear to her wedding. Still formal just not super feminine. Also the last few paragraphs were just to describe my personality for reference. I’m not really good at writing and my wording sucks. I don’t think I’m special by any means. I’m not someone that likes to draw attention to myself. Quite the opposite, I like to disappear in the background. Even at family gatherings I tend to duck off by myself or by my husband. I just feel more comfortable that way. My husband’s family are amazing caring people. It took me a long time to get comfortable around them but when I finally did it felt so good. They actually opened my eyes to what a loving supportive family looks like. They also know I struggle with my anxiety and self worth and they love me through it. I’m so grateful to them for that. I guess that’s why I also feel guilt for having this struggle. submitted by /u/Coldenbear to r/TwoHotTakes [link] [comments]

What happened to the American TV Anchor Jodi Huisentruit who disappeared 27 years ago
Introduction On June 27, 1995, Jodi Huisentruit, a news anchor at KIMT-TV in Mason City, Iowa, failed to arrive at work. Her car was found abandoned in the parking lot of her apartment, and she was never seen again. The investigation into Jodi Huisentruit’s disappearance has been ongoing for over two decades, but no arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified. The disappearance of Jodi Huisentruit? On June 27, 1995, Jodi was scheduled to start her shift for the morning show at 3:50 a.m. However, when she did not arrive at the studios at her scheduled time, Amy Kuns, the show producer called her. Jodi had overslept and was apparently woken up by Amy’s call. She was getting ready as they talked. She assured Amy that she would rush to reach the station to produce and anchor the 6:00 am news. The TV station was a 5-minute drive from her Keys apartment. At 5:00 a.m., Amy Kuns tried to reach her again but she didn’t answer. Ultimately, Amy Kuns anchored the 6:00 a.m. newscast since Jodi did not show up for work. After the news was done, Amy asked a coworker to call the police to check on Jodi. Investigators find Jodi's personal belongings strewn in her apartment's parking lot When officers arrived, they discovered some of her belongings, including a pair of women’s red dress shoes, a blow dryer, a bottle of hairspray, earrings, and her bent car key, strewn in the parking lot around her car, new red 1991 Mazda Miata. She had only bought the car a few weeks before. The ground showed signs of drag marks suggesting she has been forcibly taken away while she was entering her car. A missing person's investigation is launched An extensive search operation was launched by the Mason City police, aided by the FBI and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. On June 28, 1995, agents from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation joined local officials in the search operation. Investigators searched a park next to the apartment complex and along the Winnebago River that runs through the park. The officers recovered a strain of hair and partial palm print from her car but it is unclear if these were ever matched with anyone as there was no update from the investigation agencies. Investigators suspected foul play in her disappearance but they were not able to find substantial clues. Witness's accounts At least three neighbors heard a women scream around 4:30 a.m., the time she would have left for work. A neighbor reported seeing a white Ford Econoline van with its lights on and engine running in Huisentruit’s parking lot around the same time. The van was never positively identified. Witnesses claim that they had seen and heard an unknown young male race up the apartment’s inner stairway, pound on Jodi’s door while yelling, and then quickly disappear after receiving no response from inside the apartment unit. The mysterious incident allegedly occurred at 8:30 p.m., when Jodi was reportedly at her friend, John Vansice’s home. The disappearance of Jodi Huisentruit remains unsolved to date and she was declared legally dead in May 2001.
