Went down a rabbit hole tonight and found myself looking to see if there are still weird furniture postings on the wayfair site (even though they claimed they would change names and add better descriptions after getting caught) Came across this one. Have you ever read a furniture description like this? Made my skin crawl. Its clearly not describing a piece of furniture. wayfair furniture actually decent quality or cheap junk?
shopping for furniture and wayfair prices seem too good to be true. like a full couch for $600 when similar ones at actual furniture stores are $1500+. is wayfair furniture quality acceptable or is it particle board garbage that falls apart in a year? reviews are all over the place. some people love it, others say it broke immediately. hard to tell what's real. also their photos look way better than reality based on review pictures. worried about ordering and getting something that looks cheap in person. submitted by /u/pranavkr_jha to r/HomeDecorating [link] [comments]

The sole purpose of L2 is to find reasons to fire you
Management seems to be he-l bent on finding reasons to fire you, they never give positive feedback. Only time you hear from them is when they accuse you in the wrong or they find stuff to write you up. They dont coach for success, its coaching to destroy you. Wayfair used to be a decent place to work and management used to be supportive but the new culture is very destructive.

Wayfair stole $99 from me and I’m not sure what to do
Some context: I ordered a new mattress with the statefarm insurance reimbursement I received. It was a Wayfair gift card. I ordered a new mattress and it was delivered November 20TH. Fast forward a couple weeks, I realize I don’t like the mattress because it was causing discomfort. I requested a refund on December 16th after I had read their FAQ’s about mattress returns. They stated that you have 100 night free trial for any mattress and there will be a refund fee of $49-99 if you request it to your original payment method. It’s free if you request store credit. Anyways, this is where things get complicated. The mattress was picked up on December 23rd. I haven’t received any updates regarding the return, so I figured I would contact Wayfair support to get some answers. They initiated a refund for me after I provided them all of the details. I got an email confirmation immediately after, but I noticed a fee of $99 was taken from my gift card credit. I was alarmed and asked the chat support why I would have been charged $99 if I paid with a Wayfair giftcard. I will attach photos below of their response. After their response, I was completely shocked by what they said and immediately called Wayfair support because they literally stole money from me?!!! I told the support guy that this is unacceptable and quite literally illegal because I did not pay with a credit/debit card. I paid with a Wayfair giftcard. He continued to tell me that I selected the “original payment method” option upon receiving my refund. I told him I did no such thing and that the customer support agent was the one who initiated the refund. The only thing I got was a confirmation email. I was kept on hold for about 20 minutes and he finally said that I will be receiving an email if “they” approve or deny my $99 refund????? I was like wtf?? I will be contacting the police and filing a report if they deny my refund because this is surely stealing? Right? I have never been in a situation like this and would really appreciate some light and advice. Thank you submitted by /u/cola_care to r/legal [link] [comments]

YSK There's a generic automatic self-cleaning litter box that has killed multiple cats due to the way it's designed. No recall has been issued and it's still being sold under a number of different brands (or no brand at all) on retail websites like Amazon, Wayfair, AliExpress, and Temu.
Why YSK: This generic automatic self-cleaning litter box contains a fatal flaw that has killed multiple cats. Despite this, no recall has been issued and it continues to be sold under a number of different brands (or no brand at all) at many popular retailers. There are many different variations, here's an image of some of them: https://i.imgur.com/1veTEQY.jpeg The basic mechanical function of the litter box is a ball inside an enclosure that vertically spins upwards to clean itself. When it spins, cats have been caught in the entryway, killing them. The sensors don't appear to function correctly without a firmware update (which owners have not been notified to apply), so the ball continues to rotate upwards even if there's an obstruction. And even if the firmware update has been applied, the design of this generic litter box is still inherently dangerous. If the sensors fail for any reason, even after applying the firmware update, it still poses a danger to any cats using it. There's no single brand that this litter box is sold under. If you're researching an automatic litter box, ensure it doesn't look like any of the products in the linked image. Also, make sure that it doesn't mechanically function as I described, particularly with an entryway that closes. Video: One Man Five Cats on YouTube has an excellent video on this litter box, including tests on an actual unit he purchased from AliExpress. Warning: The video contains disturbing imagery, such as a picture of the litter box covered in blood and a picture of a cat having trouble breathing because she got her head stuck in the litter box. Despite the graphic content, I still highly recommend anyone considering buying an automatic self-cleaning litter box watch the video so you know what products to avoid. It's incredibly informative and also covers automatic self-cleaning litter boxes that are actually safe for cats. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xepC3-Ia9ho The main things to note: Avoid any automatic self-cleaning litter box where the entryway closes. This is a pinch point, and in this specific litter box, it's where cats can get stuck and killed. When researching any automatic self-cleaning litter box, imagine a scenario where all sensors on the unit fail and it starts to clean while a cat is using it. Can the cat exit without being harmed? Are there any harmful pinch points or other areas that can cause harm, such as the cleaning mechanism inside? Answer these questions first before purchasing and test it in-person, if possible. Buy from a name brand with a reputation to uphold. The random brands that appear on sites like Amazon can be reported and have their product listings removed, but they can quickly relist the same product under a completely different brand, even using a whole new legal entity if they need to. List of dangerous brands: These are some brands that I've found selling this generic litter box just on Amazon alone, but remember that this list is absolutely not comprehensive and will likely be out-of-date in the future because, even if these listings get taken down, it's trivial to simply relist the same product under a different brand. Also, remember that this dangerous product is currently being sold at other retailers, such as Wayfair, AliExpress, and Temu. The One Man Five Cats YouTube video investigates a brand on Amazon called Amztoy, which actually paid off a customer whose cat was killed so that she would remove her review from the product listing. The Amztoy listing has already been removed from Amazon. Lppetog, still available at the time of this post. BUPPLEE, still available at the time of this post. LaresarPets, still available at the time of this post. COZYBLUE, still available at the time of this post. BERRIHORT, still available at the time of this post. NICEGREEN LIFE, still available at the time of this post. LATURE, still available at the time of this post. KIKGUZE, still available at the time of this post. For more, the pinned comment in the One Man Five Cats YouTube video contains a link to a Google Drive with PDFs of more products. (I've omitted links to the Amazon products to avoid getting caught in the spam filter, but searching by the brand name + "litter box" should allow you to find them.) Remember, these brands are likely protected by legal entities that are trivial to setup and shield their proprietors from many legal consequences, especially if they're based in a country different from yours. And because this generic model is sold under so many different brands, no official recall notice has been sent to people who already own them, so please notify anyone you know who might have one, or might be considering purchasing one. submitted by /u/gixk to r/YouShouldKnow [link] [comments]

YSK: reverse image search with google app before you buy anything on Wayfair
Why YSK: It will save you money. Wayfair has a deal with their suppliers that they can change they name of their items. If you try to search for said item you won’t find anything online. They do this purposefully so they can jack up the prices on you. We figured this out because we bought a Wayfair “exclusive” item. Didn’t even think to look elsewhere and then got the package and it had a completely different name. So we looked that up and the accent cabinets we bought were $75 cheaper on the Home Depot site. I’ve done this with multiple items since and have found every single item except one for cheaper. submitted by /u/Kgcampbell to r/YouShouldKnow [link] [comments]

LPT: Reverse image search before purchasing from Wayfair
When shopping online, many people know to Google the product name to see if they can find the same exact product cheaper from another store. Wayfair & their brands (Joss & Main, AllModern, & Birch Lane) rename all their products/vendors & give them bogus names so it's harder to do this & make it seem like the product is exclusive to them when it's not. Reverse image search to find the real product name and manufacturer name & then you can much more easily find it somewhere else - often for cheaper. Let's take a lamp for example: "Mailiah 29" Table Lamp" by "Highland Dunes" on Wayfair ($127.99) But when you reverse image search you'll see it's really called: "Ollie 29" Table Lamp" by "Catalina Lighting" Now that you know the real name, you can easily see it's sold at Walmart ($105.59), Overstock ($105.59), Kohl's ($203.99), & Amazon ($105.59). And it's $22.40 cheaper on Amazon, Walmart & Overstock Edit 1: Here are a few methods to reverse image search. I'm sure there are more. Desktop: Right-click an image & select "Search Google for this image" (maybe this only words in certain browsers, not entirely sure) Or you can use images.google.com & click the camera icon to upload a pic or paste the URL of the image Mobile: Use Chrome and hold down on an image & select "Search Google for This Image" Use the Google app & open Google Lens Use tineye.com Edit 2: Added the current prices for that lamp since prices will change in the future. Also a couple more notes: Some commenters let me know this practice is called "white labeling." I'm assuming it's legal because the suppliers agree for Wayfair to do it when they agree to sell on Wayfair. This doesn't always work; sometimes Wayfair has it cheapest. So you can also try this tip the opposite way if you're about to buy something at Target/Home Depot/Macy's/etc, you can reverse image search to see if Wayfair has it cheaper under a fake name. Wayfair creates their own photos/renderings sometimes, so you may need to try a few photos. Since Wayfair, Joss & Main, AllModern, & Birch Lane are all owned by the same company, they often offer the same product on multiple sites with different prices. Sometimes the names are the same, sometimes different. So be sure to check their other sites too before purchasing. For example, this 5' x 8' rug is on all four sister sites: Wayfair: Handmad Braided Gray Indoor / Outdoor Area Rug by Wade Logan - $143.99 Joss & Main: Handmade Braided Gray Indoor / Outdoor Area Rug - $158.39 Birch Lane: Handmade Braided Gray Indoor / Outdoor Area Rug - $144 AllModern: Walmsley Gray Area Rug - $150 So you may think you're getting the best deal at Wayfair, but reverse image search helps you find that it's really called the "Lefebvre" rug made by a company called "nuLOOM" & you can easily find out it's sold at Home Depot, Target, Kohl's, Lowe's, JCPenney, Macy's, & Bed Bath & Beyond for anywhere from $111.92 (Home Depot) to $367.20 (Macy's) - in which case you'd obviously go with Home Depot. submitted by /u/refusestopoop to r/LifeProTips [link] [comments]
