What’s the best automatic litter box you’ve actually used?
I’ve been going back and forth on getting an automatic litter box because I feel like I’m cleaning the litter box way more often lately, especially on work days when I get home tired and just don’t wanna deal with it right away. I started researching different brands and now I honestly feel more undecided than before because every automatic litter box seems to have super mixed reviews. I keep seeing people swear by the LR4 and PetSnowy, and they honestly look really good, but the prices are what’s making me hesitate a bit. At the same time, I also don’t wanna buy a cheaper one and regret it later if it ends up being unreliable. For people who’ve actually used one long term, what’s the best automatic litter box you’ve had so far? Mostly looking for something reliable and easy to keep clean. submitted by /u/Select-Desk4675 to r/technomeowcom [link] [comments]

Need help with litter box please
Hi everyone I need help choosing a litter for my cat. He’s 1 year old. As of right now I’ve tried several of them. I’ve tried arm and hammer but I don’t like how it stinks my room even tho is says unscented. Now I’ve been trying “the world best cat litter” which is madre from corn but it’s way worse I don’t know why people recommend it tracking is horrible and that 99% dust free label is absolute BS. Normal air dust plus the litter dust has my room looking like I work at construction in my room. I also have an automatic litter box so I can’t use pellets or tofu litter. And I won’t be using crystal little everyone says that sht is toxic. So what the hell do I use😓. I saw this option made out of olive pits but everyone on the reviews is saying it has 0 dust but it’s horrible at clumping so if you have an automatic litter box you would basically be cleaning everything over and over every day. What do I do please help thanks. Also my cat is not picky so he really doesn’t care about that submitted by /u/Unfair_Letter_5776 to r/CatAdvice [link] [comments]

Anybody have any suggestions for semi automatic litter boxes?
So I’m starting to work more hours then usual and I’ve heard horrible things about fully automatic self cleaning litter boxes so I’d like to try a semi automatic self cleaning litter boxes and I just don’t know which one to try since they are all so expensive so I want to get one that’s not going to scare or hurt my cat in anyway and do its job so I’d like actual recommendations not reviews that are most likely from a robot submitted by /u/Time_Entertainer353 to r/CatAdvice [link] [comments]

best automatic cat litter box for odor control, living in a small apartment with two cats and the smell is taking over.
i need to sort this out because it has gotten embarrassing. i have two cats in a one bedroom apartment and the smell is out of control. i scoop every day, sometimes twice, and it still hits you the second you walk through the door. i've tried different litters, different deodorizers, different box placements and nothing is making a real difference. been looking at automatic litter boxes because at this point i need something that handles waste more frequently than i can manually. but i can't tell if the odor control is actually better with these or if people just like not having to scoop. has anyone in a small apartment switched to an automatic one and noticed the improvement? would love to know what worked before i spend money on something that just looks good in reviews. Just circling back: ended up getting the Petlibro and it finally fixed the smell problem in my small apartment with two cats. it cycles waste into a sealed compartment pretty quickly after each use so nothing sits there marinating, plus the stainless steel interior doesn't hold onto odors like my old plastic box did. also they accept HSA/FSA through Flex now so you can use pre tax dollars which made the upgrade hurt less. submitted by /u/Mcgusty-Lizardo to r/Apartmentliving [link] [comments]

Need opinions on phosphate binder and automatic litter boxes
So I’ve heard risks present in cat liver and was thinking of getting some liver supplements to prevent them, but I’m not sure if there are any supplements that do more harm than good. I want to make sure I’m doing the right thing in buying this. Also, my father is insistent I switch to automatic litter boxes (despite me being the one to clean, I think he’s just scared considering a past cat he had pooped everywhere and overflowed theirs), but I am hesitant because I’ve heard horrific stories of them killing cats after they get stuck in there. I know some work better than others, but I don’t think i can trust any fully that has any chance of malfunctioning in a similar way. Are there any cheap options for either of these people recommend? Or any other supplements you use? submitted by /u/Eton11 to r/CatAdvice [link] [comments]

what is the best automatic cat litter box for a single cat small apartment?
i am trying to look an automatic litter box and every review i find online feels like it was written by someone who has never owned a cat and it is hard to tell whats really good. i have one cat and small apartment the one i really need is no smell, not loud, and will not fall apart after a few months. i dnot care about app controls or a subscription model i just want something that does its job without me constantly fixing it. if you had yours what do you really loved about it? update: based on what i've searched petlibro came as a solid mid-range option also good to know that open-top designs are generally safer and less stressful for cats, one thing i didn't expect people to bring up was actually keeping an eye on your cat's habits since an auto box makes it easy to lose track of that. submitted by /u/Sayem-Micheas to r/Catownerhacks [link] [comments]

Automatic litter box recommendations according to Reddit for people who hate daily scooping
I’ve been thinking about upgrading to an automatic litter box because I’m honestly over cleaning three times a day. My cats are picky about their litter, and I don’t want something that scares them with loud motors or jams all the time. I’ve read online reviews, but I really want real-life opinions. Which models have you used that actually make life easier without constant maintenance? I’m hoping for something that lasts years so I don’t have to replace it every winter. Update: Just got the Petlibro automatic litter box and I’m really happy with it. My cats seem comfortable, it doesn’t make a lot of noise, and I’m actually enjoying how little effort it takes to keep clean. Definitely makes life easier submitted by /u/Iced_Shehidi to r/BuyItForLife [link] [comments]

Anyone actually have less stink with an automatic litter box?
Thinking about grabbing an automatic litter box to cut down on the smell. Scooping does okay, but my place still gets a little funky sometimes. They say these boxes seal in the stink, but does that actually work in real life? I checked out some reviews to see if the features and odor control are actually worth it. Would rather hear from people who actually have one, does it really help with the smell, or is it just as bad as regular boxes? submitted by /u/papabauer to r/Pets [link] [comments]

Are most automatic cat litter box reviews actually honest… or just honeymoon phase?
I’ve been deep diving automatic cat litter box reviews and something feels off. Everyone loves it week one. few posts about month six. what I actually want to know: - does it still help after the novelty wears off? - does your cat actually keep using it? - what breaks first? I’m not anti-tech. I just don’t want to drop serious money and then end up scooping manually again. if you’ve had one long term. Automatic Litter box: Litter Robot 4/5 vs. Neakasa M1
I am looking to adopt 2 Maine Coon boys - about 4 years old. They are coming from a rescue and it says they are house trained. I want to use an automatic litter box and have poured over reviews and have narrowed it down to the Litter Robot 4 or 5 or the Neakasa M1. I'm new to the automatic litter box, my old man cat who passed last month used a standard box. Based on experience, antidotes or even strong feelings which would be the better option for 2 big cats? Are they noisy? It says that the boys are shy/skittish so don't want to deter them from the box if they are very loud. submitted by /u/melanie9131 to r/mainecoons [link] [comments]

How to completely get rid of litter box smell!
As someone with three cats, my house always seemed to smell like a litter box no matter what I tried. I attempted different placements, added extra litter boxes, tested multiple litters, but nothing would work. I finally decided to try an automatic litter box, and honestly, it made a much bigger difference than I expected. The smell is noticeably better, and maintenance is way easier compared to daily scooping (sometimes twice a day). Now I mostly just empty the waste drawer. I’m using the PetSafe ScoopFree SmartSpin litter box, but this reviews quite a few other good options out there. If you want no more litter box smell, it might be worth considering! submitted by /u/ChadxSam to r/Catownerhacks [link] [comments]

Honest review of Neakasa M1 Cat Litter after 8 months of use
EDITED: Hello! If you’re still deciding whether to buy the Neakasa M1 automatic cat litter box, my review might help you make your decision. I have several cats. When i bought Neakasa M1 i had 4, now I have already 6 cats. When I first heard about automatic litter boxes, I immediately wanted one. So I did some research and decided to buy the Neakasa M1. It looked good and wasn’t very expensive. The reviews were quite different from each other, but overall mostly positive. Some reviews say automatic litter boxes are bad because you can’t track your cat’s health, but I don’t really see how that’s related. To me, it feels easier with automatic litter box because the app shows which cat used it, how many times and for how long. What are people looking for when buying an automatic litter box? There can be several reasons, depending on your personal needs at the moment. For example: You have several cats and don’t always have time to scoop. You leave home for several days and have nobody to watch your cats or clean the litter boxes. You can’t physically clean a regular litter box every day and need an automatic one for assistance. You want to track how many times your cat goes to pee or poop during the day. You want fewer litter boxes in your home. Cleanliness — it cleans shortly after your cat uses it, so the litter stays relatively fresh. My personal opinion ✅ It is indeed very practical if you have several cats. I like that it’s automatic and that I can track through the app how many times each cat uses it. Once, one of my cats had diarrhea, and I was able to notice it very quickly because I saw that she was using the litter box many times and staying in it longer than usual. ✅ Sometimes I need to leave the house for a few days, and it works very well for that. I don’t need to ask anyone to come and clean my cats’ litter boxes. BUT… I decided to switch back to regular litter boxes and only keep this one for occasions when I won’t be home for 2–3 days. Here’s why: When the litter box rotates, the waste bin opens, and the smell spreads into the room. And the dust. Cleaning it few times a week to lessen the smell is not an option. BUT: I've got many comments from you guys and got some advice about what could be done and there may be solution for that issue. And the possible solution is finding "that one" right litter for your litter box. So that it would not create any smell. I have got few suggestions and did a little research and if you can buy in your local area Arm&Hammer clump cat litter, then it must do the thing. I cannot buy that litter, but I will try switching my litter and will make and UPDATE here about the smell. UPDATE: 1.It's been a while, I tried different litters and none of them worked either. 2.It just stinks. I couldnt take it anymore. I dont know how some people have no smell, its a big "?" for me. 3.Bought regular boxes. No more smell, I spend 5 minutes a day cleaning. If you dont have basement where you dont care about smell i dont recommend it for apartament. 5.When it rotates, it literally opens space where the waste is, it has very bad smell already in 12hours. 6.Regular cat litter boxes ( front entry, covered) have 0 smell after washing. After 6+ months cat waste smell had soaked into Neakasa and couldn’t be removed—so even after washing, it still smelled. If it works for you - great. Please give advice for people who want to buy Neakasa how to maintain it with no smell. From me - its a no. Last few days before i switched to regular boxes, i almost threw up from the smell. Those regular boxes ( front entry, covered like Savic Nestor) are the best. Smell- none. I think automatic boxes still need some improvement. submitted by /u/e80975a to r/neakasa [link] [comments]

Thank you to all Viners who reviewed EazyPaws auto litter box
I was looking for an inexpensive but effective automatic cat litter box (the litterrobot is out of our price range). I stumbled upon one that had a bunch of vine reviews (15 of them). First of all, I was annoyed I didn’t get offered one through Vine — Uncle Viney you are holding out on me! All the Viners clearly used the product and everyone had good info. I marked the lot of you as helpful! Thank you for the good reviews! I ordered one. submitted by /u/drowning_in_cats to r/AmazonVine [link] [comments]

Best litter box system for using least physical energy possible?
Fully automatic expensive ones are out of the question for me, due to cost. It is important to me that it needs to be cleaned (both fast and full change) as seldom as possible, and with as little physical exertion as possible, with as few steps in the process as possible. I have heard of so far, and would love if anyone could review them aswell: -Breeze system -Worlds Best Cat Litter -Litter Genie with easy roll -Speedy sift -“Roll litter box” Any other systems/models to consider? I saw this automatic litter box that has a huge sale on it. This would be my first time with an automatic litter box so i’m doing lots of research. automatic litter box
I’ve been reading a bunch of different reviews online, but what brand has been your best experience with an automatic litter box? For context, my mom has cats, and when she goes out of town, I watch them for her. But this lady is textbook old with the OG scoop litter box and it’s become detrimental to my mental health lol. Automatic litter box thats been killing cats
https://a.co/d/8h0pdw3 Amazon link to the box that’s been killing cats. These boxes are from aliexpress so different companies can sell them on amazon. If you’re feeling up to it you can go and report the item on amazon. They’re not allowing people to write reviews unless they have proof of a purchase. There are many of these and most have been removed but still other companies can post them. If you want to see a video on this box heres a youtube video: https://youtu.be/xepC3-Ia9ho?si=iHVsKY13KHuazmCB Edit: the youtube video itself is not graphic but if you are sensitive to the topic I would suggest just taking my word for it. The machine is awful. Double edit: was found on Wayfair as well. https://www.wayfair.com/pet/pdp/tucker-murphy-pet-self-cleaning-cat-litter-box-large-capacity-automatic-litter-box-app-control-suitable-for-multiple-cats-white-grey-w112389058.html I am not sure how to report it on their site. Real opinions on the PetPivot Autoscooper 11? (or other cheaper automatic litter boxes)
Hi all! As anyone who may be an active TikTok user I have been absolutely bombarded with ads for an automatic litter box. I’ve been considering it since adopting my boys a year ago as I sometimes get behind on scooping for one reason or another. The PetPivot Autoscooper 11 is the most in my price range and seems to be relatively straight forward but I can’t find any reviews for it that aren’t ads (and the amazon reviews are obviously fake.) Meowant seems to have some better reviewed options and has similar safety features. Opinions on these options? I want to do better by my boys but money is a bit tight (or I’d absolutely be jumping for a litter robot.) submitted by /u/theoriginal_sam to r/CatAdvice [link] [comments]

YSK There's a generic automatic self-cleaning litter box that has killed multiple cats due to the way it's designed. No recall has been issued and it's still being sold under a number of different brands (or no brand at all) on retail websites like Amazon, Wayfair, AliExpress, and Temu.
Why YSK: This generic automatic self-cleaning litter box contains a fatal flaw that has killed multiple cats. Despite this, no recall has been issued and it continues to be sold under a number of different brands (or no brand at all) at many popular retailers. There are many different variations, here's an image of some of them: https://i.imgur.com/1veTEQY.jpeg The basic mechanical function of the litter box is a ball inside an enclosure that vertically spins upwards to clean itself. When it spins, cats have been caught in the entryway, killing them. The sensors don't appear to function correctly without a firmware update (which owners have not been notified to apply), so the ball continues to rotate upwards even if there's an obstruction. And even if the firmware update has been applied, the design of this generic litter box is still inherently dangerous. If the sensors fail for any reason, even after applying the firmware update, it still poses a danger to any cats using it. There's no single brand that this litter box is sold under. If you're researching an automatic litter box, ensure it doesn't look like any of the products in the linked image. Also, make sure that it doesn't mechanically function as I described, particularly with an entryway that closes. Video: One Man Five Cats on YouTube has an excellent video on this litter box, including tests on an actual unit he purchased from AliExpress. Warning: The video contains disturbing imagery, such as a picture of the litter box covered in blood and a picture of a cat having trouble breathing because she got her head stuck in the litter box. Despite the graphic content, I still highly recommend anyone considering buying an automatic self-cleaning litter box watch the video so you know what products to avoid. It's incredibly informative and also covers automatic self-cleaning litter boxes that are actually safe for cats. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xepC3-Ia9ho The main things to note: Avoid any automatic self-cleaning litter box where the entryway closes. This is a pinch point, and in this specific litter box, it's where cats can get stuck and killed. When researching any automatic self-cleaning litter box, imagine a scenario where all sensors on the unit fail and it starts to clean while a cat is using it. Can the cat exit without being harmed? Are there any harmful pinch points or other areas that can cause harm, such as the cleaning mechanism inside? Answer these questions first before purchasing and test it in-person, if possible. Buy from a name brand with a reputation to uphold. The random brands that appear on sites like Amazon can be reported and have their product listings removed, but they can quickly relist the same product under a completely different brand, even using a whole new legal entity if they need to. List of dangerous brands: These are some brands that I've found selling this generic litter box just on Amazon alone, but remember that this list is absolutely not comprehensive and will likely be out-of-date in the future because, even if these listings get taken down, it's trivial to simply relist the same product under a different brand. Also, remember that this dangerous product is currently being sold at other retailers, such as Wayfair, AliExpress, and Temu. The One Man Five Cats YouTube video investigates a brand on Amazon called Amztoy, which actually paid off a customer whose cat was killed so that she would remove her review from the product listing. The Amztoy listing has already been removed from Amazon. Lppetog, still available at the time of this post. BUPPLEE, still available at the time of this post. LaresarPets, still available at the time of this post. COZYBLUE, still available at the time of this post. BERRIHORT, still available at the time of this post. NICEGREEN LIFE, still available at the time of this post. LATURE, still available at the time of this post. KIKGUZE, still available at the time of this post. For more, the pinned comment in the One Man Five Cats YouTube video contains a link to a Google Drive with PDFs of more products. (I've omitted links to the Amazon products to avoid getting caught in the spam filter, but searching by the brand name + "litter box" should allow you to find them.) Remember, these brands are likely protected by legal entities that are trivial to setup and shield their proprietors from many legal consequences, especially if they're based in a country different from yours. And because this generic model is sold under so many different brands, no official recall notice has been sent to people who already own them, so please notify anyone you know who might have one, or might be considering purchasing one. submitted by /u/gixk to r/YouShouldKnow [link] [comments]

Is a self cleaning litter box worth it?
I’m thinking of getting an automatic litter box for my cat. I’m not the best when it comes to keeping up with cleaning it and sometimes when I come home from a long day at work and my apartment smells like cat pee from a dirty litter box, it kind of gets on my nerves. But, I hear a lot of mixed reviews on whether or not automatic litter boxes are as great as they’re made out to be. Most of them are kind of expensive, and I’d hate to save up and spend a bunch of money on something that’s not worth it. Do you have a self cleaning litter box? What brand? Self Cleaning Litter Box?
EDIT: DO NOT BUY AMZTOY LITTER CLEANING ROBOTS Hi! I'm trying to find a closed self-cleaning litter box that's around $300, but I could only find this one. https://www.amazon.com/Amztoy-Cleaning-Automatic-Multiple-Protection/dp/B0CY56XFK6/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8&th=1 I've never heard of amztoy brand before, and I'm not sure about the reviews; there are a lot of people saying it worked out for them, but some that say concerning things like their cat got blocked from entering, and it doesn't cycle unless connected to internet. What would you do if you really don't want to spend extra money; go for this amztoy brand one, or go for something else? If so, what recommendations do you have? I'd love to get the Litter Robot but it's out of my range. I was also considering CatLink because of their current sale; how does this fare against litter robot? https://www.catlinkus.com/products/catlink-smart-litter-box-scooper-se EDIT 9/9/24: I ended up just spending extra for the litter robot 4. No regrets. Thank you for notifying others that the AMZTOY brand is a scam and lethal to pets. submitted by /u/Tigerbladedn to r/CatAdvice [link] [comments]
