Old bathroom sink plumbing wont fit new vanity, how would you re-pipe this?
The pipe on the right side with the 90 going into the side of the p-trap is protruding too far out and wont fit my new vanity. I am not 100% sure what its for I was thinking it's the AC condensation drain pipe but someone told me it could be a vent pipe? I have already cut into the back of my vanity but it's still colliding with the drawers and I really don't want to have to cut into 2 drawers. What would be the best way to eliminate that 90? https://preview.redd.it/0aojjy3ibpsg1.jpg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=656dcdda08d1cc14943709b46669e623b7900da3 https://preview.redd.it/43btpy3ibpsg1.jpg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2c7532c475e60b734ab1fc546e67cd40ec3bf8cb https://preview.redd.it/s855qy3ibpsg1.jpg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd489b642ed1428b0bff281860208d861bada0fb I was thinking to cut off the bottom 90 and repipe diagonally back to the 90 near the wall? Someone told me I could put a T right before the P-trap and reconnect up and to the right? https://preview.redd.it/xg5l4z3ibpsg1.jpg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4a6f05ae8c04e657b9b31cc8167b8f6095a2bea9 https://preview.redd.it/20dobz3ibpsg1.jpg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b3062834c6c2cfb1dbee0299ff5f2006b25b6b01 https://preview.redd.it/c2abuz3ibpsg1.jpg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5fe25676fb2e47ec2668a59eff2c89eebc326a97 submitted by /u/Tomsushi to r/Plumbing [link] [comments]

Can anyone help me out with this? My faucet moves on my bathroom vanity and it shouldn't.
The set up on my vanity and sink in the bathroom are 3 separate pieces. Two handles, cold and hot and a faucet. I bumped the faucet and it moved. It shouldn't do that. How do I fix this? The sink is fragile material (my mistake for trusting installer) and I'm afraid I'll crack the sink. The "Onyx Top" vanity and sink are all one smooth piece. If you need pics of the actual set up, let me know. I think the horseshoe looking thing is not in the correct position either. submitted by /u/Inevitable_Taro_5803 to r/askplumbing [link] [comments]

Save the Bathroom from Brown! Need help with replacing vanity.
I need my bathroom design rescued from my shitty vanity and I have a very brown bathroom. Not a fan. The marble is nice, I suppose, but I am needing to do a light refresh in my bathroom because of storage. The biggest issue in here is the vanity and the lack of storage. Pic 1 and 2 are of the bathroom with the old vanity, and pic 3 is of the new proposed vanity. Pic 4 is my bad Photoshopping of the vanity in the bathroom. Why it sucks, like really bad... There is no good storage. No drawers, just the 4 big doors. I put some wire tiered shelves that slide in and out of each of the cabinets, but that doesn't really do the trick. It is just more brown on top of the existing marble tiles, which are very poorly installed, but replacing the floor would be a nightmare and I'd have to either use the same tile to match the tile that is all over the place, or pick a different one and redo the whole floor. Just seems like a lot of work to just not go all the way and do the whole bathroom. This thing is way too big. It is 72" wide and 36" tall without factoring in the sinks. The sinks bring it up to 42", so it is way too tall for my short wife. She struggles to even use it. How I need help... I have my eye on a bathroom vanity that is pretty different from the current one and I am needing advice on how to tie it together with the rest of the space and if people think it work alright in the space. Yes, it will be 60" instead of 72". It will be shifted to the far right side, so there will be a 12" gap between the vanity and the tub. Yes, the plumbing was originally set up for a 60" vanity We like green, and would like to add complementary art and plants to add more color into the space. So, what do you think? Can this work for what I am looking for? Do you have any thoughts on this? submitted by /u/producer312 to r/interiordecorating [link] [comments]

Bringing character back ✨
Our house was built in 2002 and we are slowly renovating room by room. We hired tiling guys for the floor and shower and did the rest ourselves, but this was our first bathroom reno in this house! Took roughly 2 weeks to complete. • Floor tiles are Leona Checkerboard Matte Porcelain Tile in Marfil and Amani Bronze from Edward Martin • Shower tiles are Alata Cloudstone from Tile Club • Sink is the 48" Floating Bathroom Vanity with Sink from AmbroVania on Amazon • Light is the Afmean 23.6-in 3 Light in Polished Brass from Lowe’s submitted by /u/GeezyMart to r/BathroomRemodeling [link] [comments]

Small/narrow bathroom redesign – foresty green tiles: good idea or mistake?
Hi! Would love any and all advice. I've attached photos of our current bathroom, the AI generated image of what we want and some close ups of sample tiles in the bathroom with different lighting (it's quite gloomy atm). FYI for the generated image, the shower would actually be on the stud wall, along with the shower screen, and we intend to have the green tiles to the floor in the sink area with no recessed lighting above the sink. Dark green tiles: We’re considering foresty green wall tiles. In a bathroom of this size, would that likely feel too dark/heavy in real life, even with lighter floor tiles and good lighting? (The AI generated image using tiles we're considering makes it look fine, but suspect they could be darker in real life?). We really like the gloss/ceramic glaze tiles where there is a range of colour/texture in tiles. Boxing in the toilet cistern: Would boxing the cistern in (to seat height, spanning bath-to-wall) make the space look cleaner and more modern, or risk making it feel smaller? We currently just have the pipes boxed in. Struggling to visualise... Vanity: Any recommendations for what price point makes sense for vanity units? We've seen some at the 1k mark, some significantly lower (e.g. from Victorian Plumbing) and not sure what makes sense - we'll probably live here for max 5 more years. Background: Full bathroom replacement: bath, shower, toilet, vanity/sink, tiles. Stud wall position is fixed due to bath size, window, and cost constraints - will be extended to the ceiling Layout advice isn’t the main goal, but open to obvious improvements. TL;DR: Redesigning our bathroom and want feedback on whether green tiles will be too dark for the space, and whether boxing in the toilet cistern actually improves the look. Vanity suggestions welcome. Editing to add: Wow, really appreciate all the feedback! Thanks so much to everyone who commented so far. For those who are asking, we used ChatGPT (free version) to generate the image. It was definitely "generous" with the size and lighting. We actually asked it to use the same tiles we got samples for, but I guess it came out unrealistically light! submitted by /u/SaltedandShrivelled to r/InteriorDesign [link] [comments]

Can our bathroom fit a 30 inch wide sink vanity?
We are looking to replace the pedestal sink in our downstairs bathroom. The spot taped out is the size of a 30 inch wide vanity. We could do a 24 inch to be safe, but options are VERY limited for this size. With the 30 inch, I worry about if it will be too close to the toilet. For a little more context, the wall to the base of the toilet it is 10.5 inches, and is 9 inches from the base of toilet to where the vanity would be. Thoughts? submitted by /u/MissFox26 to r/Remodel [link] [comments]

AITA for being petty and not letting my wife use my bathroom sink?
So my wife and i have a jack and jill sink. Ever since we moved into our new house(a year ago) she's filled up her sink with makeup. She says it's "easier to leave it" in there for next time vs putting it away and taking it out each time. I offered to buy her a vanity and she said "no thanks" i've asked her nicely if she can put it away and she does, but then does it again and then uses my sink to brush her teeth and wash her face etc. We also have 4ft of counterspace in between our sinks so she could easily organize it and leave it there. Well recently i got fed up and put all my shaving stuff, my clippers, deodarant etc in my sink and told her "i guess neither of us is using the sinks". Its been a week and we've been washing our hands in the shower or kitchen, but she seems furious over me doing that. AITA? submitted by /u/Horror-Bandicoot1061 to r/AITAH [link] [comments]

Made this based off some pictures my wife showed me
As the title says my wife wanted a bathroom vanity. Well the pictures she showed me had spindle legs and I wasn’t about to let the opportunity to buy a lathe pass me up so I jumped on it. She also picked out this sink on Etsy and it was my job to combine the inspiration pic and the sink into one. This is what I came up with! Yes it is going to get wet but we don’t have kids and this is going in a low traffic powder room so as long as we wipe it off after getting water on the top I think we’ll be ok. I also added a ceramic coat to help protect it further. (u/blacktailstudio so not yours. I still had the stuff you recommended a few years ago. But I’m open to a collab for my next project and video wink wink) Lastly I kept my router template for the top so I can make a new one if I need to in the future. submitted by /u/CrowCreations to r/woodworking [link] [comments]

Remodel of our century bathroom!
It took nearly a year and a half! But I finally put the last pieces in place today (trim around the built in cabinet). Our house was built in 1918 and we wanted to take inspiration from that time period. I included a photo from the realtors listing of the home and one of my husband during demo day. I couldn’t find any other good pictures of what it looked like before. The biggest change came from tearing out the huge vanity and replacing it with a small console sink, then we opened up the wall to create built-in shelves. This opened up the tiny room so much without sacrificing storage space. It’s all DIY so there is plenty of… character haha! But I am thrilled with the results. submitted by /u/gggvuv7bubuvu to r/BathroomRemodeling [link] [comments]

“Opulent”
Opulence is in the eye of the beholder, because I would never consider tacky contractor grade finishes (cabinets & countertops), garage fluorescent lights in areas other than a garage, cheap looking LVP, an outdated rickety metal rack over the toilet organizer in a bathroom with a pedestal sink instead of a real vanity and basically a complete lack of custom work in a 2.1 million $ home to be “opulent”. Corners were cut where they could be just to save money, I imagine. Overall, when I think of Grod and Robem’s style and mindset, this house is actually perfect for them. submitted by /u/Aggravating_Dig_8473 to r/SisterWives [link] [comments]

8 years later it finally feels complete 🏡
I moved into my partner’s place which was very ~bachelor pad~ in 2017 and have been updating, renovating, tweaking, redecorating, and practicing my interior design creativity over the years in every single room. While I never feel like it’s fully finished, I’ve poured so much love and energy into it that it finally feels like “me” and wanted to share! We rent but are very lucky to have open minded landlords. Some things we have done: • Painted every room, some with lime wash • replaced every ceiling light fixture & added medallions • added picture molding and painted closet doors, and added vintage hardware • replaced door knobs • redid kitchen backsplash tile • replaced kitchen sink and faucet • new bathroom vanity • added wainscoting and wallpaper to the hallway • added brass hardware to kitchen cabinets … and much more! submitted by /u/lindsey_what to r/interiordecorating [link] [comments]

I'm no longer mad. I'm just hurt.
I have been dealing with issues within my marriage for years. Over the last few months I've come to terms with it being a marriage of convience (we have kids and we don't fight just don't necessarily bond). This is just one example but theres been more and more things like this lately that without the emotional bond are making me think the convience isn't quite so convient. Last year, after waiting weeks for him to finish a bathroom reno, I finally just did the job myself and a damn good job of it if I do say so. Due to me being a sink percher the caulk seal started loosening around the vanity. So, I asked him to please recaulk it & refresh the bath caulking on his day off. I came home to the job in the pictures, it's so thoughtless that I bypassed mad and have gone straight into heart broken. Our small children could've done better, theres hair stuck in parts because he didn't even bother wiping down the tub before hand. He is not unexperienced in this sort of thing and I'm left to believe he just truly doesn't care about not only the work I had put into us having a nice bathroom but the welfare of our families home (this caulking job is a sure fire way to gather moisture and mold). I work a very emotionally tolling job and instead of talking to him about this last night I just went to bed. I suppose I'm coming to this sub to not only vent my feelings but for advice on how you would approach this situation? He will lean into the "Well I thought it was a good job/ I'll just not do it next time" trope. submitted by /u/clumsycuriousity to r/Marriage [link] [comments]

Why are so many bedrooms designed with the vanity/sink area like this?
I absolutely hate it. It looks like a cheap motel to me, but a lot of the houses in my area and price range are designed like this. Is there a reason for it, design wise? And is it realistic to renovate the whole bathroom/ closet area to get rid of this look? Is there a way to pipe this bathroom sink drain to fit a vanity?
I bought a vanity but stupidly didn’t take into account the location of the drain and water lines. I can cut slots to fit the valve handles and it wouldn’t prevent using the drawers on the right, but is there any way to have the drain pipe turn 90 degrees and direct a few inches to the left, in order to fit the p trap? Bathrooms before & after
Just wanted to share our finally (!) finished bathroom remodels. We gut remodeled 2 bathrooms in our 1909 Craftsman home. The first one is the master bath, second is a hall bath which the kids and guests will use. It took 1.5 years from design, permit, to construction and completion. Details for those who want it- 1. The master bath was tiny and we enlarged it (by taking away an adjacent closet). The hall bath had the tub by a window, so we had to rework that layout. 2. Both baths got new plumbing, electrical, fixtures, etc. The electrical was a huge help because now we can run hair dryers without tripping a breaker! :D 3. I know y'all love the vintage sinks, but we have kids and need practical counter space and storage, so we sold the sinks to someone who wanted them. 4. We did the design ourselves and were aiming for a more modern feel but with nods to the house's Craftsman heritage (and without breaking the bank). Overall I'm happy with how it came out! Things I wish I'd done: 1. Make sure the floors get leveled before tiling. Maybe could be done by pouring self-leveling compound. The out-of-level was never noticable, but once the vanity cabinets went in, you could see it in the corners and we had to compensate for that. Feel free to ask me any questions on the bathroom remodel journey! submitted by /u/netizen13660 to r/centuryhomes [link] [comments]

AITA for not accommodating my friend with health problems?
I (f24) have inherited my parents house and money a few months ago after they passed away. It’s a 3 bed, 2.5 bath. I moved into it almost immediately and then a few ago, invited my friend and her fiancé (f24 and m26) to stay with me since they were having some finical issues. I gave them the bathroom upstairs as well as the smaller bedroom (i have a lot of clothes so I converted the bigger one into an extra closet for me). They moved in last week while I was away for a business trip and when I came home, they sat me down and asked if they could have the master bedroom and I move into the smaller one. The master bedroom is huge. My parents had the house custom built for them when they just got married and didn’t plan on kids so the master bedroom takes up the majority of the upstairs. The bathroom is huge with a tub, walk in shower, vanity space, and two sinks. However, when I moved in, i paid $50,000 to have the entire bathroom remodeled. I said no because it was my house and I am paying for the majority of bills (they pay 1/4) and the fact that I couldn’t fit all my stuff in the small room. They argued if I couldn’t fit my stuff, then they couldn’t fit the stuff of two people. They then went on to explain how my friend has IBS and other digestive problems, as well as autism and baths help comfort her. They’re bathroom does have a bath, it’s not as big as mine, but it still is works. I still said no and that I’m sorry that she’s going through that. She complained that its tough for her to run out of the room and into the bathroom a couple doors down. They then went onto mention how if I am planning on getting my basement remodeled, that I could remodel it to help fit their needs. And I once again said no because I’m converting it into an office space for my boyfriend (he’s currently in a masters program) since we both will work from home. They said that they felt like I didn’t care about her health problems and was bring rude for not helping them when they needed it. I reminded them that this is not a permanent situation and they stormed off. It’s been a week and they still have refused to move their boxes upstairs until I stop ‘spoiled’ and give them the master bedroom. Some of my friends are saying that I am the asshole for not just letting them stay in the room until they move out (when they keep acting like this is permanent) or even just moving my stuff out of the bigger bedroom and they let stay in there while other are saying that I have the right to say no and should just kick them out if they don’t just agree to stay in the smaller room. So am I the asshole? update 1- I have a meeting with a lawyer tomorrow to set up a leasing contract and if they don’t sign it then I am legally allowed to kick them out in my state and that’s what I plan on doing. update 2- They won’t sign a leasing agreement so they have been kicked out. They are going to be homeless (I feel really bad about it), but they are finally leaving after they both work today. My friend is currently changing all the locks to the house and the gate surrounding it. I don’t plan on talking to them anymore. Thank you all :) update 3- I’ve gotten a couple of messages for an update so I’m going to do one here. I haven’t felt comfortable posting or discussing an update until now. But after they left, they repeated showed up at the house. Sometimes in the middle of the night, during important meetings that they knew I had, etc. My boyfriend moved in, which made them get worse. They have smashed windows, stole things from me, emailed my boss things about me, etc. I found out I was pregnant a few days after posting the last update, and they have since started expecting. I ended up having to go to a obgyn over an hour and a half a way for them to leave me alone. They currently are living in a homeless shelter, but tend to sleep on couches with mutual and non-mutual friends. Luckily I do have a restraining in order in place now as well as my boyfriend and I are moving to a city that’s a few hours away. Thank you for everyone who messaged me!
