Blue paper towels are very good at soaking up fluid spills but so are high end regular paper towels like Bounty select-a-size. I still keep the blues around for those things that would tear a whitey up but I find I use a lot more red rags and whitey paper towels than anything else.

How many rolls of Bounty Paper Towel (or equivalent expensive brand) should 1 person use per week?
1 Roll of Bounty Paper Towel would last for me at least* 1 month. Is 2 rolls per week excessive? Edit: Typo*, sorry everyone! LOL! It was quite misunderstanding without the word "least." Edit2: I have a roommate who uses 2 rolls per week. Hence, the reason for the* second question. Edit3: I would effectively use 1/6 of a roll per week. Edit4: Yes! I use rags which is why my roll lasts more than 1 month. submitted by /u/DutyEuphoric967 to r/stupidquestions [link] [comments]

(Video.) DA Ray Tierney says Rex Heuermann kept a paper towel square as a "memento" inside his desk drawer in his office. A receipt found in his home showed he had purchased Bounty paper towels with the same pattern as the one recovered from victim Megan Waterman's mouth.
"A piece of evidence that would've been presented had the case gone to trial is a rolled up Bounty paper towel recovered from Waterman's mouth, Tierney said. Waterman, 22, went missing in June 2010 and her remains were found in December 2010 in Gilgo Beach, according to Suffolk County police. The paper towel had a particular pattern that Bounty created specifically for the box store BJ's Wholesale Club, and that pattern was only in circulation in 2010, Tierney said. When searching Heuermann's home, investigators found a BJ's receipt for Bounty paper towels, and "the SKU [stock-keeping unit] number was for a Bounty paper towel with that same pattern," Tierney said. "And so we were able to show that this Bounty paper towel was purchased by the defendant," Tierney said. "And inside his desk drawer was a square of that same paper towel that matched perfectly and that he had kept in his office since 2010." That paper towel square was a "memento" for Heuermann, Tierney said, adding that prosecutors "would have utilized [that] at trial to link him to the commission of that particular murder."" https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/gilgo-beach-murders-paper-towel-142100015.html So he kept the paper towel square from June 2010 till he was arrested in July 2023. That pattern was in circulation from the beginning of 2010 to the end of 2010. submitted by /u/BrunetteSummer to r/LISKiller [link] [comments]

Is Publix a sinking ship that cannot be saved?
Walmart Price Publix Price Bounty Paper Towels (6 rolls) $6.94 $24.99 Mandarin Oranges (3 lb) $3.97 $6.99 Milk (1 gallon) $3.00 $4.49 Avocados (each) $0.84 $1.50 Fuji Apples (3 lb bag) $4.67 $5.99 Chicken Breast (per lb) $2.67 $4.29 Land O’Lakes Butter (per lb) $5.88 $7.38 Sharp Shredded Cheese (8 oz) $2.24 $3.19 Cheerios (8.9 oz) $3.68 5.69 The customer is pissed. Publix is perceived as overpriced not just slightly higher, but out of step with reality. Margins large enough to feel insulting. Even if prices come down tomorrow, a lot of customers aren’t going to come back. Publix has lost the customers trust. Customers have been abused....prices have risen sharply and inflation became the convenient "explanation" for everything. When inflation cooled and competitors stabilized or lowered prices, Publix didn’t. Publix has picked margin over customer loyalty. Shoppers have re-learned how to shop elsewhere splitting trips between Walmart, Aldi, Costco......the spell is broken. Customers have discovered that groceries can cost dramatically less without sacrificing quality. The psychological hurdle of “I only shop at Publix” has disappeared. There’s no automatic reason to return. Publix often points to its superior experience: cleaner stores, better service, friendlier staff. But that premium only works when the price gap feels proportional. A few cents more? Fine. A dollar or two more across dozens of items every trip? Its no longer a premium it’s a penalty to shop at Publix. Publix isn’t a hometown institution anymore it’s just another retailer that costs more. The most damaging is resentment lasts longer than sticker shock. Customers don’t forget feeling taken advantage of during tight financial times. Even if prices eventually normalize, the emotional memory remains. People don’t say, “Publix lowered prices, I forgive them.” They say, “I already found somewhere better.” Mr. Jenkins Would be disgusted with what Publix has turned into and in my opinion is a sinking ship that may not be able to be saved. submitted by /u/drudante to r/publix [link] [comments]

Am I being dirty, or is my wife being irrational about hygiene?
My wife and I (30s) have a child who's just about to turn one. Recently, she's been constantly upset about me doing things that are "dirty", but I'm having trouble understanding whether her reaction is reasonable or if she's just got some irrational thoughts caused by some OCD or postpartum issues. Here's a list of things she tells me: The garage door is dirty because when I throw out garbage bags I have to open the garage with my hands that just touched garbage bags. Any time I'm leaving the house, I have to take two paper towels with me: one to open the doorknob when leaving, one to open the doorknob when coming home. We wash our baby in the sink. She believes the faucet has shit on it. So the faucet is off-limits and must only be touched with tissue. We constantly vacuum and mop our floors and carpet. If our babys toy falls on the carpet for even a second, it needs to be cleaned with soap water before we can give it back to him because he puts everything in his mouth. Likewise, if any of our clean clothes from the dryer fall on the ground, it's now dirty and must be washed again. This includes socks! She believes germs/dirt have a very strong transitive property. E.g. if I touch the faucet, and open the fridge to get a drink. The fridge handle and the drink are now dirty. I have to wash my hands, only touch the fridge with a tissue, and hold my drink with a tissue We're washing our hands nonstop all day. Our hands are literally scabbing and bleeding. I'm spending over $150/mo on paper towels alone (we go through 1+ roll of bounty per day). I've told my wife that she is being irrational with all of this. The baby is 1 and doesn't need to live in a perfectly sterile environment. I think all of these issues are just some sort of postpartum ocd but I need a reality check if I am in the wrong here. submitted by /u/mudkipzftw to r/daddit [link] [comments]

Dollar Tree is out of control
I knew as soon as they started bringing in the two and three dollar items that it was going to snowball but I never could have predicted this. Nine dollars is insane. No one is going to the dollar tree to buy nine dollar paper towels. My family thinks I'm being dramatic about this but I feel like they truly don't understand the weight of how horrendous the economy is. To me this is the perfect indicator of how bad things are and it's fucking depressing submitted by /u/SentBrok to r/povertyfinance [link] [comments]

Frugal Paper Goods toilet paper and paper towels
My wife insists on using bounty paper towels and charmin extra strong toilet paper. I do admit the toilet paper is luxurious and I tend to use less when compared to something like Scott. As for the bounty, I know dish towels and rags are more cost effective but there is still some need for us as we have 2 small children always making messes. Is this still considered frugal? Would anyone recommend something less expensive but just as high quality if not better? submitted by /u/HulkHgn to r/Frugal [link] [comments]

Bounty Paper Towels aren't as durable as before.
I bought a huge package of Bounty Paper Towels about 5 years ago. I gave two rolls to a neighbor but as a single person household that old supply lasted me years. You couldn't find a better paper towel on the market. I could actually wet those under the sink and wring them out many times before they got tossed. They never disintegrated! Imagine my dismay when I recently tried a Bounty towel this year. It was like wetting a cheap paper luncheon napkin. No spring, no life, just textured cheap thin paper that feels sloppy and disgusting wet. Oh yeah, it disintegrates like a cheap napkin too. Never will buy Bounty towels again. why the economy is doomed. A samsclub paper towel perspective.
Hello, thanks for taking the time to read this due diligence on the economy. Over the last 4 years I have gone to my local samsclub to purchase paper towels over 800 times. every week for 4 years, I purchased a 12 pack of bounty select a size paper towel. During covid paper towel like toilet paper became a rare resources. It was not guarenteed that the economy could produce enough to sustain the paper towel needs of the citizens. This lead to the terrible pratice of hoarding paper towl and while sad, was very bullish for the economy in general. After witnessing this sad pratice of hoarding I began to realise that the broader market could be tracked (in generalities) by following how much paper towel my local sams club could keep in stock. I keep track of this number by creating an acronym for these amounts of paper towel stored on pallets at the previously mentioned club. S.P.T.P Sams club paper towel pallets. (by creating this acronym I have saved not only myself time while writing, but also you time while reading) Back during the covid days my local samsclub rarely had more than 2 s.p.t.p delivered a week. buying paper towel was hit or miss. As the economy recovered this increased to a more reliable 4 s.p.t.p. Now we come to the crux of this post. s.p.t.p remained steady in the 2 to 10 range for the last 3 or so years. Untill this very week. I counted over 45 s.p.t.p on rakes strewn throughout the store. Which leads me (and you if you have even an average IQ) to 1 conclusion. No one has extra money to buy paper towel anymore. The economy is toast. Over. To say the world is ending is not even one tiny bit of an exageration. On monday I will sell every asset I own and fullport into week puts on whatever sector produces paper towels. I hope you have the sense to follow this amazing play to prevent ultimate finacial ruin to me (and you) Thanks again for reading. Best of luck out there. Edit. As we enter a new week I wanted to thank everyone who replied to this post. Especially the humorous ones that gave me some great laughs. I even learned a few things too. Cheers fellow degens. submitted by /u/neotank35 to r/wallstreetbets [link] [comments]

Viva Paper Towels
Posting here because I feel I’ll find people here that will understand. Viva Paper Towels are amazing, right? Soft, softer than kitchen rags, just as absorbent as bounty but they feel nicer and don’t rip as easily. They changed. I just opened a package and it’s scratchy. My ADHD husband felt them as well and cringed back. It feels thinner, I don’t even know if it works as well because I haven’t tried it yet (literally just opened it like 10 minutes ago and freaked). Someone please say you noticed this too or there’s some reason. Nothing on the packaging suggests there was an intentional change and there’s nothing online about it, at least not anything in the last month or two. submitted by /u/secretagentmermaid to r/AutisticAdults [link] [comments]

Had anyone else noticed the terrible quality of paper towels after they changed the packaging?
We used to love Kirkland brand paper towels. They work great and they pulled off the roll every single time without issue. Since they moved to the new packaging without individually sealed rolls every time you pull a paper towel off it rips into multiple pieces. I think their quality has gone way down. We bought Bounty instead this time. We'll be returning Kirkland brand. submitted by /u/Constantine1988 to r/Costco [link] [comments]
