Honda Care + Ceramic Coating: Worth $2,500 on a brand new 2025 Pilot?
Hello, Need advise! Just bought a 2025 Pilot EXL like 2 weeks ago, currently has 100 miles. Planning to keep it for 8+ years. I'm moving states in November and trying to decide if I should drop $2,500 right now or wait. The Quote: $1,500 for Honda Care: I'm tempted to buy now for peace of mind, but I still have the 3yr/36k factory warranty. If I wait until I have 4-5000 miles (but still under 1 year), do I lose the "New Vehicle" pricing? $1,000 for Ceramic Coating. Im thinking doing it now I was while it's brand new to avoid a paint correction/polish fee later. I plan to clean my car religiously once a month, is a pro coating actually worth it than just using DIY Cerakote spray every few months? I've already spent on add-ons/accessories. Should I pull the trigger now to "lock in" the new car status for the ceramic coat and warranty? submitted by /u/myIGNisFlip to r/hondapilot [link] [comments]

Ceramic vs trim coating: are there fundamental differencesbetween the two?
I have some leftover CarPro UK CQ Quartz 3.0 that I want to use on fading black wheel trim on our 2019 CX-9. I did use CarPro on my Miata windshield cowling and it turned out great. Are there chemical or performance differences between my ceramic coating or something trim specific like Cerakote Trim Coating? If not, I will go ahead with using the rest of my CarPro. Taught myself 3d design and used a blend of ceramic and nylon resin then coated with CERAKOTE® to create this airpod case. I call it Cathedral.
This took me so long to make, I first had to learn how to do 3D modelling, then finding the right type of resin to use was super difficult as standard resins either didn't give the right finish or were too brittle. I eventually made my own blend of different types of resin which I then had to prototype test print 16 times before I got the settings right. Then to get the colour finish I wanted with extra scratch resistance and UV protection I hand sanded it down and coated it in 3 layers of CERAKOTE®. Would love to hear if anyone likes this design/look? submitted by /u/Qubt to r/3Dprinting [link] [comments]

What's your experience with the Cerakote ceramic coating? The website says: It's abrasion, chemical, temperature, and scratch-resistant but not proof. Wear will show with time and use. So it's just gonna chip and looks ugly during the process till the paint's completely gone? Is that covered by their lifelong warranty? And how's this "use for life" I find it goes completely opposite direction of the notion of a machine pen. submitted by /u/UbeWaffler to r/machinedpens [link] [comments]

preparation for applying Cerakote rapid ceramic the second time?
Last fall, I used "CERAKOTE Platinum Rapid Ceramic Paint Sealant Spray" on my vehicle. Works great: easy to apply, water is still beading up six months later. In a couple months, I'll be going on a long road trip and that's when I'll want good ceramic protection the most. I can't wash the car (except for self-service hi-pressure washes) for the whole trip, which will last almost 3 months. The instructions don't seem to cover applying another coat. The prep is just to "wash the vehicle toroughly". Do I need to use any special technique or product or chemicals to prep for a new coat? What's the best way to get readyd for my second application? submitted by /u/mikeblas to r/AutoDetailing [link] [comments]

Can somebody tell me the most glossy and impressive Ceramic Coating? CQuartz 3.0 was only OK
I got all excited to make the glossiest ceramic coating possible on my gfs car. I run a detail shop and am new to ceramic coatings however have done a handful since I am good at the prep/paint correction and they've all turned out good. So far, Cerakote is the best one I have tried but I have only tried two, cerakote and now CarPro CQuartz 3.0 UK after correcting and applying Car Pro Essence to bond properly. In my head I thought the CQuartz was going to be top notch compared to the Cerakote, but it really wasn't. I can tell its a good coating, as in it is very hydrophobic, and "thicker?" than Cerakote seemed to be. But it doesn't look as impressive as I envisioned even after a stellar prep. It was a newer Hyundai Veloster, bright orange, double coated. Anyways so I still have some CQuartz and I still have my Cerakote but am planning on doing my mother's new Nissan Pathfinder next. I want to impress her and show her how far her son has come. She was driving the other day and saw another Pathfinder that was extremely glossy, she asked me if that was a ceramic coating because it looked spectacular. I told her it likely was, and I'd love to do that for her. The next ones on my list to try were: Adams Graphene Ceramic Coating, or a Gyeon Product as I hear amazing things about Gyeon. But which is most glossy? How can I make sure it is picture-perfect, glossy, slippery perfection? Any other brand recommendations? Is there a place online where you can see pictures of what each popular product actually looks like once the job is done? Thanks for any help I know this is asked somewhat often, but I appreciate any responses! submitted by /u/Any-Internet-7796 to r/Detailing [link] [comments]

Cerakote ceramic wheel sealant, for IS350 "black chrome" wheels, any experience?
I've only had my is350 for a week and it's been cold here in the Northeast so I've not been able to really get to know the black wheels. However they are very shiny and smooth to the touch. Cerakote Ceramic Spray Results 💧
First time using a ceramic spray—and so far, I really like it. The pictures don’t do it justice. But it looks wet and feels super smooth. This was only my second time washing the truck. Here’s what I did: • Started with a spray wash • Dried it using a leaf blower and microfiber towels • Clay barred the paint • Dried it again • Applied one coat of Cerakote Platinum Ceramic Spray and buffed • Applied a second coat and buffed (why not) • Then just let it cure for 2 hours The whole process took about 3 hours, but it was well worth it for the final look. Cerakote claims the Platinum spray lasts up to 50 washes, so we’ll see how it holds up. But for $20 on Amazon, I’d say it’s a great value. What ceramic spray or coating do you use and recommend? I’m curious to hear what works best for you. submitted by /u/APanDulce to r/FordRaptor [link] [comments]

Please help, mistakenly applied Cerakote Ceramic Trim coat on matte paint and cannot remove!
I made perhaps the most costly mistake of my life, ruining perfect paint on my dream car. Tried isopropyl alcohol, tried Schaeffers’ Citrisol and neither worked to remove. Called Cerakote and they say it is a ceramic based clear coat that can be removed with machine polish but that’d ruin my matte paint. I’m at a loss, i may have to repaint the whole car? Will matte ppf hide this? I just don’t know what to do anymore. Thinners would likely ruin my paint. I don’t know what I was thinking, I ordered the product to coat something else entirely and did this without thinking about it. Any ideas on how to chemically remove? This is the product I applied: https://a.co/d/j1odUbl submitted by /u/peterpeterhaha to r/AutoDetailing [link] [comments]
