I have tried to compile a table of sorts - please chime in. Kettle Pro/Cons Fellow Stagg ($200) Aesthetics / Reliability is poor Cosori Gooseneck ($70) Well recommended, Strix controller, huge plastic piece on the interior of the kettle that is not silicon but the lid punching through the kettle metal Oxo Glass Kettle ($120) Gigantic / Gigantic, hard to clean attached handle, not completely plastic free Oxo Gooseneck Kettle ($120) Must order directly from Oxo, base has serious QC issues, common failure point, not carried by Amazon only the glass kettle is TimeFish on Amazon ($120) Some positives, but QC issues makes me wonder why anyone would spend over $100 on some Chinese brand Cocinare ($70 cheapest model) Nice aesthetics but like Fellow poor build quality and charges $70 but doesnt even use the Strix heating element. Bonavita ($50-$100) Older models would survive a warzone, newer models are junk as evidenced by all recent reviews 2024-2026, their newest model which is not on Amazon yet has even more problems than the classic which makes sense MeCity ($70 but usually around $50-60) Great design, terrible execution, tons of quick failures submitted by

Everyone suggests something different… so what’s actually the best electric kettle?
I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect electric kettle, but every guide, video, and comment seems to suggest something completely different. Some people swear by super-fast, high-tech kettles with temperature control, while others insist a simple, sturdy model is all you need. I spend a lot of time reading reviews and comparing specs, but I want to hear from real users: Which kettle do you actually use daily? What do you love about it—and what annoys you? Is temperature control worth it for coffee or tea? Any durability issues I should be aware of? I’m looking for something that’s reliable, reasonably priced, and not a pain to clean. Bonus points if it doesn’t make a loud ruckus every time it boils. Basically, I want to cut through the hype and find the kettle that’s genuinely worth it. Share your experiences—honest pros and cons are super helpful! Thanks in advance. submitted by /u/Lopsided_Tough9254 to r/yardsale [link] [comments]

People keep recommending different ones… what’s truly the best electric kettle?
I keep seeing completely different answers every time this comes up. One person swears a certain kettle is flawless, another says it broke in months or wasn’t worth the price. For context, electric kettles are basically plug-in appliances that heat water quickly, usually for tea, coffee, or cooking. Some are super simple with just an on/off switch, while others have temperature controls, keep-warm functions, and more precise settings. People tend to look into them for speed, convenience, and consistency compared to stovetop kettles. I’ve been researching this pretty deeply to put together a guide that’s actually useful, and I’ve gone through a mix of reviews, comparisons, and brand breakdowns. But a lot of it feels inconsistent or overly polished. I’m way more interested in how these things hold up in real kitchens over time, especially the stuff you only notice after months of use. A few things I’m curious about: What electric kettle have you used long-term, and how has it held up? Any models that felt great at first but didn’t last or developed issues? Are variable temperature kettles actually worth it, or mostly hype? Have you noticed big differences in build quality between cheaper vs expensive options? Any brands that consistently feel reliable (or ones you’d avoid entirely)? How annoying is cleaning/maintenance in real life (scale buildup, lid design, etc.)? Who do you think should just stick with a basic kettle instead of overcomplicating it? From what I’ve gathered so far, there seem to be a few main categories: basic plastic or stainless steel kettles, gooseneck kettles for pour-over coffee, and higher-end models with temperature control and keep-warm features. What seems to matter most is build quality, heating speed, and how well the thermostat actually holds up over time. A lot of the “smart” or extra features feel unnecessary unless you’re very specific about brewing. One pattern I keep seeing is people overlooking things like lid design, noise, or how easy it is to clean, which ends up being more annoying than expected. Also seems like some cheaper kettles perform fine initially but have longevity issues, especially with switches or heating elements. Trying to put together something that’s actually helpful and doesn’t steer people toward bad picks, so real experiences would go a long way. Would love to hear what people who’ve used these for a while think. Anything I’m missing here? submitted by /u/James_ss_2 to r/ProductQuery [link] [comments]

Fellow Stagg EKG pro gooseneck kettle review (husband stopped teasing me about it, which says something)
so my husband basically said "you want to spend how much on a kettle!?" but I bought it anyway... and now he probably uses it more than I do (which I'm choosing not to question). Anyway, here's my review of it. why i wanted it I got into pour-over coffee a little while back, mostly because someone made me a cup that was actually way nicer than what I'd been drinking, and I couldn't unknow it. This was something like 8 months ago? I had a decent grinder already, watched too many YouTube videos, and figured I was set. But yeah, i wasn't set. The weak link was the kettle. I was just using a cheapo generic electric kettle, the type with a wide spout that dumps water similar to when you're filling a bathtub. obviously it boiled fine but it always poured out like a firehose. And pour-over coffee (if you haven't gone down this particular rabbit hole), is basically an exercise in controlling water flow. You really need a thin steady stream. You want to know what temperature that water actually is. You want, apparently, a gooseneck spout (which is a phrase I now say with zero embarrassment) So I started looking, and there's actually a decent number of gooseneck electric kettles on the market, but i settled on this one that looks like it belongs in a museum. how im using it So i'm keeping it right next to the stove, and it hasn't really moved since the day I plugged it in. That's partly because it looks good enough to leave out. i know it sounds a bit superficial (maybe it is) but I have limited counter space and i don't like visual clutter, which is why the old kettle lived in a cabinet. This one at least earns its spot. Now i'm using it almost every morning for coffee, and my husband uses it in the afternoon for tea. On weekends it probably gets turned on three or four times. It replaced the stovetop kettle, and the old noisy electric kettle. In fact the house is noticeably quieter at 6am now. It didn't add complexity. And that was one of my worries, because it would just be another thing to manage, and another thing with settings I'd have to learn. But this is pretty simple, you turn the dial, press it, the water heats. Also the base is small and the cord tucks away. It just sits there, being useful, not demanding anything. nice. Features etc Temperature control. This is the thing that (maybe) justifies the price, if anything does. You dial in a specific temperature, like 205F for my pour-over, 175F for my husband's green tea, and it hits it accurately. I tested this with a separate thermometer during my first week because yea yea I'm that person. But it was right. Also the dial is nice and tactile, which I find satisfying in a way I feel slightly embarrassed admitting. You spin it, the number changes on the screen, you press to confirm. So there's no annoying menus or modes. (such relief). The gooseneck spout. okay so this is the thing that separates it from a normal kettle, but it might also annoy you if you're not using it for pour-over. Mainly because the flow rate is deliberately slow. So you cannot rush water out of this kettle. If you try, you'll tip it too far and water will come out from under the lid, which is not a flaw so much as a philosophical disagreement between you and the product's intended use. For pour-over though, the control is really impressive. Before I was just sloshing water in the general direction of coffee grounds, but now I'm actually placing the stream where I wanted it to go. My husband said it's like the difference between a garden hose and a fountain pen, and i think that's a good way to explain it. The hold function. Once your water hits the target temperature, the kettle will hold it there for up to 60 minutes. This is really more useful than I expected. I set it, go deal with the dog or something, come back, and the water is still exactly where I left it. The one complaint (and this is specific but persistent), is that if you add water to the kettle while it's in hold mode, it doesn't automatically reheat to the set temperature. You have to nudge the dial up and back down to trigger it. The display. On the standard EKG, it's a small LCD that shows current temperature and target temperature. It's pretty simple, and it's readable in daylight, but it can be a little dim at night. But at least it doesn't try to be a dashboard, so I appreciate that. Build quality. It's stainless steel and feels nicely solid without being too heavy. The handle is a bit unusual though, almost angular. I've seen people complain about it but I find it comfortable for me. btw there's a small nub at the top that lets you stabilize the pour with your thumb, which is a detail I didn't notice until the second week but now rely on. however the one spot that gets hot is the metal ring where the handle meets the body. I touched it once. I don't anymore. The lid. To be honest, the lid is fine, not great. It fits snugly, which is good for heat retention and less good for checking the water level, because you have to do it by removing it, since there's no window or exterior gauge. When you pull it off, condensation that's collected on the flat underside tends to drip. It's not a catastrophe or anything. It's just one of those small things that makes you think someone could have sloped that surface and didn't. What i genuinely love about it The temperature accuracy is the best thing. For pour-over coffee specifically, being able to dial in 205F and trust it means one fewer variable to think about, when my capacity for variables is extremely limited. It heats fast as well. a full kettle from room temperature to 205F in under five minutes. My old kettle took longer and screamed about it. The pour control. I was a bit wary that the spout shape could matter that much, but i'd say it really does help. The stream is slow, thin, and predictable, which lets you do the circular pour-over technique without thinking too hard. My extractions got more even and my coffee got less bitter. The aesthetic. for me, a kettle I'm actually willing to leave on the counter means i'm more likely to use it. The matte black looks clean, it doesn't show water spots easily, and it also doesn't clash with anything. maybe im weird but i like when a kitchen appliance doesn't make me want to hide it when people come over. It's quiet. there isn't any rattling or roaring boil sound, just a faint hum. i guess this is a subtle thing but i like it. The build has held up. I've been using it almost every day for months now and there's no wear on the finish or any wobble on the base. There hasn't been degradation in performance either. I've seen some reviews mention quality issues, but mine has been pretty solid. I descale it every couple of months with white vinegar and that's the extent of maintenance, nothing crazy or too involved. What's not so great about it That hold function logic (when it's not reheating when you add water) is a bit annoying, especially when my husband keeps topping it off. (grr...) Also, the spout is probably going to be too restrictive if you want to use this as just a general-purpose kettle. And the 0.9L capacity is fine for one or two people but not for entertaining or batch brewing. The price. I can rationalize it (I have rationalized it) but it's a lot of money for a kettle, and no amount of matte black changes that math. It just depends on whether it's worth it to you I guess. Overall thoughts I'd say if you make pour-over coffee regularly and you care (maybe even just a little) about the quality of your cup, this kettle is a great thing to have. it's not like a huge life altering change, but a noticeable one nonetheless. The temperature control is very precise, and the pour is controlled, so the whole thing feels considered in a way that most kitchen appliances just don't. Still if you just want to boil water for tea or instant oatmeal or whatever, this is going to be the wrong kettle of course. The gooseneck spout will just frustrate you, and the slow flow rate will feel like a flaw. So if that's what you need, just get a normal electric kettle for a third of the price and be happy. For me, it was worth it overall. I say that with full awareness that "worth it" is doing a lot of work in that sentence. But it's worth it because I use it every day and it's made my coffee better. Also, it sits on my counter without offending me, and because it replaced a morning friction I didn't know I had. I know that's a narrow justification, and I'm comfortable with it. My husband, who once described the purchase as "financially unserious" now sets it to 175F for his afternoon tea without saying anything. He hasn't apologized but he doesn't need to. The kettle has won the argument for me, lol :) submitted by /u/Any_Possession4312 to r/Sosofia [link] [comments]

Shiprocket reviews – my experience shipping small electric appliances
I run a small brand selling basic electric appliances like irons, kettles, mixer grider, etc. Nothing fancy, but sometimes slightly bulky and prone to damage if mishandled, so shipping quality matters a lot. I’ve been using Shiprocket on and off for a few years now, and since I keep seeing mixed Shiprocket reviews online, thought I’d share my recent experience for anyone shipping appliances or hard goods. A recent issue that stood out: Last month during Christmas sales, I shipped a batch of 25 orders from Mumbai to different parts of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. 4 shipments showed “out for delivery” for two consecutive days, this usually ends in an RTO. I raised a ticket expecting the usual template replies, but got a callback from a support exec named Rohan within a few hours. He flagged it internally, told me the issue was a delivery hub backlog, and suggested marking it high priority since it was prepaid. The order got delivered the next day without damage. Not perfect, but the transparency helped. Day-to-day experience: • Pickups are mostly on time for medium-sized cartons • Damage issues are rare if packaging is solid (double box helps) • COD success rate improved after I started checking RTO risk before dispatch • NDR panel is useful when customers don’t answer delivery calls Overall, Shiprocket has been usable and fairly stable for my business. Not saying it’s perfect, but it hasn’t been the nightmare some reviews make it sound like. Would love to hear from other users who are into electronics or appliances business, what problems have you faced in your business? I analyzed Reddit for the 15 most recommended electric kettles
Got a few requests for this one so here it is, if you If you want to see the full breakdown (Top comments +TL;DR for each kettle) it’s up at RedRecs.com/best-electric-kettles I scraped comments from 70+ posts where people asked “what’s the best electric kettle?” (plus large kitchen/appliance recommendation threads), then ran the whole pile of thousands of comments through an LLM pipeline to see which kettles consistently get love vs. mixed reviews. Goal wasn’t “most mentioned,” but “most positively talked about.” Method in a nutshell: – Scraped 70+ “best electric kettle?” threads & home appliance megathreads – Used GPT-5.1 + Gemini 3.0 to extract product names and classify sentiment – Scoring = ~70% positive vs. negative differential + ~30% positive/total ratio – Merged name variants so duplicates didn’t inflate results (e.g., “Bonavita Gooseneck Kettle,” “Bonavita 1.0L Digital Variable Temperature” → one entry) – Added a Signal Score: combines positive/negative ratios, upvotes, and comment quality - highly upvoted or detailed comments carry more weight than short or low-effort ones Would love your feedback and keep dropping your requests at the pin post. I am running the scraper 16 hours a day trying to get it all! submitted by /u/LoneKnight25 to r/RedRecs [link] [comments]

cheap gooseneck kettle - electric or stovetop?
Hi! I know this gets asked here a lot but I'm having a hard time deciding. I want to buy an affordable gooseneck ($70 or less) to keep at my mom's place, and I only visit a few times a year. She doesn't have an electric kettle of any kind, so my options are - -buy a regular electric kettle and use a hario air kettle, drip assist or similar -buy a stovetop kettle with a thermometer -buy a cheapish variable temp electric kettle. this last option is most attractive to me but all the "recommended" variable temp kettles under $70 also seem to have a fair amount of recent negative reviews on amazon - i.e. Greater Goods, Govee, Mecity, Cosori, etc - and I'm paranoid about getting something that turns into a fire hazard or breaks quickly. I use a bonavita at home and am debating getting a bonavita interurban kettle off ebay. anyone have experience with the bonavita interurban OR have recommendations for an electric variable temp kettle under $70? or does it make more sense to go with a stovetop one with a thermometer (also accepting product recs for this)? thanks gang! submitted by /u/undergroundgirl7 to r/pourover [link] [comments]

Completely plastic free electric kettle in the UK?
EDIT: I may have found one based on the reviews! I'll see what it's really like tomorrow. _________________________ Please, help a girlie out. My electric kettle broke. I have been boiling water in a cooking pot on the stove. Not ideal, but whatever. First "plastic free" stainless steel tea kettle arrived on Thursday. Yay! Until I boiled some water and my apartment began to reek of melting plastic. Sent it back. New kettle arrived today and the strainer (not visible on the product page) is plastic (and doesn't seem to come off) and the part under the lid directly above the water is plastic. Job hunting and on a very tight budget. I could care less what the thing looks like. Any recomendations under £30 would be greatly appreciated! submitted by /u/tinfoilfascinator to r/BuyItForLife [link] [comments]
