Yearbook cover is poorly generated AI.. yearbook club denies it, says a tattoo artist was commissioned
My school ASB said they commissioned a tattoo artist to do the image for our yearbook. Everyone is convinced it’s AI, but the people in yearbook have thus far denied it. They continued defending it and claimed the tattoo artist PROVED he drew the image by.. guess what?… changing the colors. That is in no way proof of creation.. There are six fingers on one hand, four on the other, two necks, and the bottom right of the skate deck is so messed up. His right sleeve is disappearing into a blob, and the background is weakly generated. Do I get mad? And if this gets some votes I’ll definitely show the school your guy’s opinions. submitted by /u/Healthy_Professor_48 to r/isthisAI [link] [comments]

If Australia went 100% renewable, it would pay off in 8 years and fix electricity costs at 19c/kWh. After 8 years, the revenue generated could cover the national budget deficit and leave enough to create a sovereign wealth fund.
If Australia shifted entirely to solar, that would pay off in 8 years. If electricity cost per kWh is fixed at 19c/kWh, after 8 years there are two pathways. Either electricity costs can be further reduced to pay for maintenance, or the annual revenue of 53.2 billion could be put in a sovereign wealth fund. For comparison, the oil and gas industry contributed only 18.7 billion in taxes during 2024–25. We haven’t even talked about the savings in terms of human health and wellbeing. 53.2 billion would be enough to cover Australias Budget deficit and have plenty enough left to put in a fund! Mind you that the oil and gas sector is subsidized by 16.3 billion! So net profit for the government is only 2.7 billion, which is insane. In contrast, the solar industry would bring in 53.2 billion annually at 19c/kWh. Solar can last up to 30 years before needing replacement. Yes, gas and coal power plants have a lifespan of 30–40 years, but they require a huge amount of maintenance and actual fuel to operate, a commodity that can change in price at any time if any minor conflict occurs. Solar just sits there and collects energy. https://envirojustice.org.au/press-release/australians-pay-a-deadly-2-4-billion-health-bill-for-coal-fired-power/ https://australiainstitute.org.au/report/fossil-fuel-subsidies-in-australia-2026/ So the average cost of electricity in Australia sits at 33c/kWh and is subsidized with the “Australian Government Energy Bill Relief.” In my calculations, I’ve used 19c/kWh just for fun. This means that every Australian will roughly halve their electricity bill overnight, and it would be more consistent throughout the year. Supply charges would also go down, since solar production has the ability to be more spread out than electricity production from gas and coal, which is very concentrated. Therefore, it would spread the load more evenly across the grid and potentially lower infrastructure and supply charges on your monthly bill. Conclusion: The ideal scenario would be to partially transition to renewables. For example, when a coal or gas power plant becomes too old, instead of being replaced with a similar source, it could be replaced with renewable energy. This would help reduce the staggering 40% of electricity production coming from coal! Coal is a very inefficient way to produce energy, which is why your car runs on petrol and not coal:/ Simplified calculation: Annual electricty generation in 2024= 280TWh = 280 000 000 000kWh Yearly PV energy Production = Annual energy production from 1kWh of installed solar only = 1521kWh Installed solar capacity needed = 280 000 000 000kWh / 1521kWh = 184 089 414kw Installed cost of solar and battery Storage (very conservative) = 2327$/kW Total cost = 2327$/kW * 184 089 414kw = $428 376 066 378 Annual revenue = 280 000 000 000kWh * 19c/kWh = $53 200 000 000 Return on Investment = $428 376 066 378 / $53 200 000 000 = 8 years Sources: 280TWh of annual electricity generation in 2024: https://www.energy.gov.au/energy-data/australian-energy-statistics/electricity-generation Yearly PV energy Production(Melbourne, Sydney, Roma, Broken Hill, Georgetown =1288 ,1364, 1599, 1610, 1744)(avg = 1521kWh): (Use crystalline silicon 2025 and Optimize slope and azimuth) https://re.jrc.ec.europa.eu/pvg_tools/en/ Installed cost of solar and apropately sized battery storage(2327$/kW)(This figure is VERY conservative): https://atb.nrel.gov/electricity/2024/utility-scale_pv-plus-battery Avreage cost of an kWh is 33c/kWh: https://www.finder.com.au/energy/electricity/average-cost-of-electricity https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Existing-transmission-lines-and-power-stations-in-Australia-Geoscience-Australia-and_fig1_321319574 submitted by /u/AskReddit125 to r/australian [link] [comments]

I made a Luigi's Mansion logo/font generator where you can type anything in the cover art style
Try it out here: https://pixelframe.design/luigis-mansion-font-logo-generator/ It doesn't use AI (just regular browser-based HTML and JS). You can type anything and it will generate text an image that you can download styled like the Luigi's Mansion logo (with multiple background options). I've also made others based other games (Kirby, Mario, etc) if you like this one. submitted by /u/pixelframeDesign to r/casualnintendo [link] [comments]

Disneyland Paris covers its parking lots with solar panels, generating 36 GWh of electricity per year
Disneyland Paris installed large solar canopies over its parking areas, turning the space into a massive solar power plant. The installation generates about 36 GWh of electricity per year, helping power the resort while also providing shade for parked cars. submitted by /u/No-Blackberry-7564 to r/SolarAmerica [link] [comments]

"Your special little crusade has done nothing but ensure I will use MORE AI to make sure people like you stay furious and far away from using my content." Someone posts a mod in r/BG3mods that introduces an ammo limit to arrows, but all anyone wants to talk about is the AI-generated cover they used.
Link to post Some highlights below (though there's heaps more in the comments) Commenter 1: mod sounds cool, but using AI is a bad vibe. I’ll pass on this one. OP: Good riddance. If the single cover image I used is enough that you dont want to enjoy the fruits of my many hours of free labor to produce the art that is the mods I create, then I'm absolutely thrilled that you won't be enjoying my content. Please take the time to block me on mod.io, nexus, and reddit so you never see me again. Commenter 2: You're so far up your own ass you're seeing double. Commenter 1: (Posts this meme, later removed by mods) OP: You literally stole this image from someone. Commenter 2: ho its a meme Commenter 1: Leaving and muting this sub, the way you guys treat OP is gross and performative. This is a real person who put real work into making and distributing a free mod. Not liking or wanting to associate with AI is fine, commenting that it would've been better to do their thumbnail another way is fine but baselessly attacking and insulting them for a free product isn't okay. Commenter 2: The more we shame people for using AI, the less people we'll have using AI to do the work for them. If OP could put real work into the rest of the mod, they could put real work into the thumbnail too. Using AI art only shows a lack of respect for artists. OP: Your special little crusade has done nothing but ensure I will use MORE AI to make sure people like you stay furious and far away from using my content. You have achieved nothing. Commenter 1: (Removed by mods) OP: Its literally just an arrow crossed out bud, nobody was put out of work for this. Commenter 1: (Removed by mods) OP: Then don't use it. Commenter 2: “waa waa mod authors get treated so badly waa waa” when y’all act like 7 year olds with anger issues ofcourse y’all gonna get treated likewise lol submitted by /u/minnieboss to r/SubredditDrama [link] [comments]

Recommendations for Generator cover for outdoors while running
I live in a hurricane area, and am looking for a solution to run my generator outside the garage. Typically when the power is out, its windy and rainy here. Considering cover: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CDZTV6JB Any other covers I should be looking at for the following generator? Generator: https://www.samsclub.com/p/genmax-portable-inverter-generator-11000-watt-tri-fuel-remote-start-co-sensor/P990335454 Generator Size: 31 x 22.5 x 30 Inch Am planning to run this on natural gas only. I looked at zombie box, which looks expensive and large (4 feet x 4 feet). Ideally I would love to store this outside the garage but I don't want to take the time to build a good shed. I typically will need the generator once a year. Recommendations? submitted by /u/yourcloud to r/Generator [link] [comments]
