I'm mainly asking this because I noticed that a lot of the people who share this preference for classic bulbs use arguments that are borderline the same level as flat earth conspiracies about companies wanting to make us constantly fatigued from hidden blue light or something. I personally prefer them for mood lighting because I noticed in comparison that LEDs give everything in my home this odd green-ish tint, even ones with a good color rendering index and I'm just wondering if this is some placebo and I'm crazy or if there's actually something to this bc I don't want to be associated with the likes of anti vaxxers and such but still, I feel like classic bulbs just give better light. Started with swapping bulbs in bedrooms and bathrooms. Did a few more in areas where time is spent in evening like dining room and den. The light is warm and I feel like my eyes hurt less. Got to break out the picoscope for the first time to monitor for a parasitic draw (picture is taken after fixing it, just verifying). Traced the source of the draw to the BCM not going to sleep. Learned that the BCM can stay awake if aftermarket LEDs are installed in the reverse lights. Thought to myself "Who is putting LED replacements in a reverse light?". Turns out the previous owner of this Terrain does. Two new incandescent bulbs later and 2+ hour diag, and the problem is gone. I do feel for the current owner though cause they're paying for mistakes from the previous owner. We changed out all the LED Light Bulbs in the house. Most light fixtures take a maximum of 60 watt bulb. They were not easy to find. We have a few led light bars to change. We keep them turned off unless they are needed. My constant headaches have all but gone My tinnitus has scaled down. My eyes no long have that fried feeling. I can sleep again. I started replacing my old bulbs with LED when they first came out. Thinking they would be longer lasting (They Are) and energy efficient. Now there are “Smart” LED light bulbs that can be programmed to turn on and off, with color hue control. The Smart lights use WiFi and Bluetooth. I run everything I can wired. (WiFi is bad) I turn off Bluetooth on any device that’s not using it. There are plenty of sources on the internet that discuss the issues with LED Light Bulbs. The Blue Light. The Frequency they operate. What happens when they malfunction. The over all heath effect they have on the body. Go see for yourself. The government has mandated that we replace all the old styles with LED. Standard LED bulbs put out an enormous amount of RF interference. For 10+ years I've been dumbfounded on why my garage door opener remote would work from 80ft down the street, but fail to work when I'm 10ft away in the driveway trying to leave. Then a light bulb went off. Literally. And the remote was able to close the door. I removed the LED bulbs, replaced with incandescents and haven't had a problem since! I yearn for a nostalgic Christmas and the LEDs we get nowadays are killing my vibe. Particular hatred for the bright blue bulbs in seemingly every set nowadays. Has anyone found a replacement for that beautiful old incandescent look? Something softer and dimmer than the LED lights we get now? Looks like the US has seen a resurgence in recent years with ‘vintage’ options from the likes of ‘Tru-Tone’ and ‘VintaGlo’. I can’t find anything similar in the UK though. I've been seeing a number of articles recently about the Trump administration delaying the phase-out of incandescent light bulbs in favor of more efficient bulbs like LEDs and compact fluorescents. What I don't understand is their justification for doing such a thing.
