made my bf a SpongeBob incense holder 🫧
I’ve only ever worked with ceramic clay before so it took a while for me to get used to air dry, and the paint job ended up a little wonky bc I finished it at 6 am, but I eventually ended up with a pretty cute gift ^^ He loves it and I’m just praying the chimney doesn’t break off again, this thing is so fragile. submitted by /u/Responsible-Tea-8378 to r/clay [link] [comments]

[Self]Violin-inspired ceramic incense holder
A small ceramic piece I made that functions as an incense holder, but I wanted it to read as a sculpture first. The incense stick becomes part of the silhouette like a violin bow. submitted by /u/lightcalm0 to r/Sculpture [link] [comments]

I made a ceramic incense holder where the incense stick becomes the violin bow
I’ve been experimenting with small ceramic objects that still feel sculptural when they’re not being used. This one is meant to hold an incense stick so the stick becomes part of the form. submitted by /u/lightcalm0 to r/somethingimade [link] [comments]

Incense holder, any special considerations?
I want to make an incense holder for my wife but I’m unsure if there’s anything special I should do for it since it’s literally holding a piece of incense that burns. Any ideas/suggestions?? submitted by /u/ringrainbow to r/woodworking [link] [comments]

How to Turn Scrap Wood Into Profitable DIY Incense Holders
DISCLAIMER: I am posting this as a reference from my YouTube video and blog post that I made. Reddit feels like the most genuine place to get real human information rather than blogs, and I genuinely want to spread the information, not on a promotional aspect, but rather to share with the community. I am not a super experienced woodworker, nor is this my career. I hope this does not come off as self-promotion to anybody, but if you do want to read the blog, which includes photos or my YouTube video for the full tutorial, you can find both links on my Reddit profile, located under "social links". Thank you for reading, and I hope this adds value! If this post is breaking any of the community rules, mods may message me, and I will promptly remove it. P.S I hope I picked the correct "flair" for this post. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you’ve ever made a cutting board, you end up with those edge scraps that most of us toss in the bin. But what if those offcuts could become something functional, beautiful, giftable, and even profitable? In this blog post, I’ll walk you through how I turned my cutting board scraps into handmade incense holders that could easily be gifted or sold, with a potential $ value provided at the end. What You'll Need Tools: Table Saw Miter Saw Router or Router Table (or DIY setup) Round Nose Plunge Bit (5/8") Round Over Bit (1/8") Drill with 3/32" drill bit Orbital Sander (optional) PPE (Dust & eye protection) Materials: Hardwood scraps (from cutting boards or any project) Sandpaper (80, 120, 150, 220 grit) Tung Oil Foam Brush Rags Step-by-Step Guide Prepare the Blanks Start by trimming your wood scraps down to a consistent width. Measure the smallest piece (if using cutting board scraps like I did) and align your table saw blade to split it in half — this gives you square, usable blanks. Check for straightness and plane or joint if needed. Inspect for Imperfections Look over each piece for cracks, chips, knots, or any other imperfections. Mark anything that might need to be cut off or avoided during the next steps. This helps save time later. Rip and Resaw to Size Cut each blank into pieces approximately 1-1/4" wide and 3/4" thick. I was able to preserve the end grain on the top for added visual character. Depending on imperfections, I often got two usable incense holders per board scrap. Cut to Final Length Cut your pieces to 11" long. If imperfections exist, you can cut them shorter (down to ~8" minimum). Using a stop block helps to keep to consistently and increases speed. I just clamped a plywood scrap to my miter saw fence. Route the Incense Ash Groove Using a 5/8 round nose plunge bit, route a groove into each holder. I placed mine roughly 1-1/4" from the top and 1/2" from the bottom. Group pieces by width to minimize fence adjustments. I recommend vacuuming between passes to ensure a nice flat surface if not using a router table. Shape the Edges Use a 1/8 round-over bit to soften all edges. For the top and sides, go shallow for a simple round over finish. For the bottom, deepen the bit slightly to create a "hover" effect with a flat shelf that sits nicely on any surface (not sure the correct term for this to be honest). I recommend testing this on a scrap piece before the finished piece to dial in your setting. Drill the Incense Hole Mark the center of the groove and drill a shallow starting hole vertically using a 3/32” drill bit. Align an incense stick, making sure it doesn’t go past the length of the piece and at your desired angle. Copy that angle with your drill, making sure to stay straight with the ash groove and not going too deep to pierce the side or bottom. Sand Everything Smooth Start with 80 grit only to remove deep imperfections, then move through 120, 150, and finally 220 grit (180 is optional). I stuck some sandpaper onto a scrap plywood piece for the 120 grit to help start the sanding on the bottom edges from the router. For the next grits, I just folded a piece. As for the groove, the ends were easy to do with my thumb and twisting my wrist. On the groove itself, I used a round rubber piece from my spindle sander, wrapped in sandpaper but by hand or a dowel would work fine. Using an orbital sander is optional, I started with one but switched to by hand because the vibrations were too much. This is when a good-quality sander shines. Finish with Tongue Oil Apply a thick coat of tung oil with a foam brush. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then buff with a rag. Let it dry for 24 hours and repeat for a second coat. It brought out incredible color depth, especially in walnut. For more shine, continue applying more coats (Note: Follow the instructions on your finishing product, regardless of whether I suggested otherwise). The Final Result The finished incense holders came out beautifully. Based on Etsy research, I could price them between $20–$30 each. With 24 pieces made from my scraps, that's a projected return of $480–$720 (not including labor). Whether you’re looking for a fun gift, a product to sell, or just a way to get more from your scraps, this is a perfect beginner-friendly project with real potential. https://preview.redd.it/gtny60s5rh6f1.jpg?width=6000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=73390865758d650df23469a74c576268db740dca submitted by /u/RedinTV to r/woodworking [link] [comments]

The most practical incense holder?
So, I’ve got a standard wooden ash catcher, the little tile holders, and a soapstone “coffin”. First two make too much mess around it, especially when near a window. The coffin is the better design as the ash can’t get away, however the soapstone stains really quickly and badly and leaves quite an unpleasant smell. Any recommendations on a decent incense holder that keeps ash within while also not giving off a horrible smell and having to be constantly scrubbed clean? Thanks! 💨 submitted by /u/FrankieCactus to r/Incense [link] [comments]

Requiring Incense for ticket holders to get the full value was so crappy of Niantic.
Hey, we know you paid $15 bucks for an event so we are going to give you a spawn boost via incense…. BUT… require you to use 16 of them to actually get it. Oh sure, they did give us some. But it wasn’t 16. For $15 bucks they should have found a better way to do it. I find incense usually fairly useless (even before the nerf) so I had plenty. But not everyone hoards them. For $15, everything we needed to gain the max benefit should have just happened. There are various ways they could have fixed the problem. Such as… Giving us 2 special 8 hour long incense. Letting ticket holders one regular incense last for 8 hours. Just giving us the effect of an 8 hour incense without needing to do anything. Etc Edit 1: some people only had a small handful of incense, and the 8 or so incense they received as rewards wasn’t enough to last the whole event and they had to spend more cash just to get their full effect of one of the biggest reasons for buying a $15 ticket. Edit 2: I love all the people who say I just wanted a bunch of shinys or shouldn’t have spent money or other things like that. I specially crafted this post to address bad game design. I specially crafted it to address how one of the main perks for the event was handled in a weird and clumsy way. This can be true even if I didn’t buy a ticket. “Hey, that’s an odd/bad way to do it” is the thrust of post. submitted by /u/TyrionTheBold to r/pokemongo [link] [comments]
