Hi everyone, I currently own an iPhone 12 pro, but i sadly broke the screen and the battery Is at 77%. It would cost me more than €200 to repair it (I live in Italy), so I think it's not worth at all. I was thinking about switching to an iPhone 15 because I can find It for €400 and I think that the USB c and the Dynamic Island are the minimum in 2026. I only play Clash of Clans so I'm not interested in a too powerful device, I only need a good camera and a device for everyday tasks. I’ve been using the iPhone 17 for about a month after switching from the 15 Pro, so here are some quick thoughts. Battery & heat Battery life and heat control are noticeably better. My 15 Pro always felt slightly warm, even in winter, while the 17 usually stays cool. With normal use, it easily lasts a full day. General feel Screen, weight, and overall feel are pretty similar to the 15 Pro. The bezels are a bit thinner, but it’s not something you really notice in daily use. Camera button Not a fan. I keep triggering it by accident when holding the phone with my left hand, so I basically turned it off. iOS iOS 18 was solid, but iOS 26 launched with quite a few bugs and some apps still feel unoptimized. Apple really needs to polish updates before releasing them. Overall This year’s standard model actually feels very complete. Here’s a video I recorded exposing how Liquid Glass in iOS 26 eats up your phone’s battery. iPhone 17 Pro Max | iOS26 Is Crazy Battery Nightmare | Power Consumption Deep Dive TL;DR On my both 15 Pro Max and 17 Pro Max (iOS 26 official release), UI interactions (Control/Notification Center pull-downs, starting screen recording, Safari startup/page loads, etc.) repeatedly spike to ~10–14W, causing drain and heat. Put it simply: constantly swiping the Control Center can drain as much power as playing a full 3D game on your phone.(You're welcome to try it yourself if you want, to see if your phone would heat up fast.) Low Power Mode (LPM) consistently caps those spikes near ~5W, improving practical battery life (and I'll share the real world results with you). Without LPM, from 100% → ~19–20%, I got only ~5h46m–6h30m SOT on 17PM. But with LPM on, I got 6h SOT with still 60% battery remaining, and 10h SOT from 100% → ~19–20% on 17PM. My take: parts of iOS 26’s UI (“Liquid Glass”) are power-hungry; 17PM thermals just hide it better vs 15PM. For example, scrolling down Control Center would get 8w~9w. With "Reduce Transparency" On, it spikes up to 14W. Doing Screen Recording itself with HDR format is getting 5w~6w now. (That means idling, If you started scrolling through Homepage it would go up to 9w~11w.) Using Apple Maps and starting the navigation would get peak 8w~9w in 1~2 sec. Recording Videos in 4K30 HDR would get around continuously 6W. Taking Screenshot(HDR) would get peak 7w~ crazy 17w _ / Edit: I really appreciate that my Deep Dive Review got so much attention, but just to be clear, we still need to make sure Apple hears this so they can fix the real problems. Alright, so I bought my iPhone 15 Pro in November of 2023. I was planning on keeping it till it wasn’t supported by the new iOS anymore. Well, I was going to a concert and wanted to buy a 17 Pro for the 8X zoom and then return it. Turns out the zoom is amazing! I added pictures of the concert and showing how far I was from the stage. I was planning on using the 17 Pro for 10 days, then return it just to test it out. My dad offered to buy my 15 Pro from me, and I took the offer. So I’m going to be keeping my 17 pro. Only thing is, it feels exactly the same as my 15 Pro. It’s just slightly bigger, I get the camera control button, and the new selfie/zoom cameras. Not saying I regret selling my 15 Pro to my dad nor buying the 17 Pro, but I just wanted to know if anyone has regretted so. I also feel as if they are the same phone. With less than 90 days for iPhone 17 I wanted to write my little love letter to this little phone. The iPhone 15 pro is the ultimate iPhone, ever made. It’s the lightest pro model and one of the smallest (due to the smaller bezels) The absence of camera control is amazing as that place is where I rest my hand all the time, it’s where I’m resting my hand right at this very moment. The matte titanium build also looks better. It takes design cues from every single ever. So basically an encapsulation of every single iPhone ever made. How can a phone remind someone of 20 different iPhone models? No idea but it does. I’ve upgraded my phone every year and on some occasions multiple times a year. Not anymore. I have formed a deep emotional to this phone. A few months later I see these text messages and see the phone is in China. What should I do? Is this legit? What are the next steps in protecting my privacy and information? The first photo is the one taken by my iPhone 15s back in 2015, the second photo is the same photo taken by my iPhone 15 Pro this year. The color of the 5s photo is more like the actual photo. But the color of the 15 Pro photo sorta has a yellow undertone. If you zoom in, you can see the pupil of the eye of the toddler (me) in the 5s photo, but not in the 15 Pro photo.
