Portable Tire Inflator
Ive got a Dewalt portable inflator thats done me well and could take my truck tires to 85psi no problem. I just got a new fifth wheel though and where my travel trailer tires called for 80psi, the tires on this unit call for 110 max cold psi. I got the dewalt so i could stop bringing my larger air Compressor with me however the portable dewalt cant go to 110. Does anyone have a good portable inflator they recommend that can go that high? I assume some truckers may have something they like but havent had any luck asking the couple that I know. Thanks in advance submitted by /u/ak6143 to r/RVLiving [link] [comments]

I'm lazy. Now use a portable inflator to top off tire pressure at home.
For nearly 30 years, I've used a floor pump with a built in (inaccurate) gauge every week, and before any long ride. Not a big deal. Put on glasses to read gauge. Attach pump head to valve, flip lever to clamp, work the pump, flip lever down to remove from valve, repeat for other tire, done. Maybe it's because the o-rings in the pump head are old, but I sometimes lose a lot of pressure getting the pump head off (something more than losing the standard amount of pressure stored in the pump hose) and have to do it again. Last month, I got a tiny rechargeable emergency pump to replace the CO2 cartridge system in my emergency bike kit. Holy shit, it's so nice. Tiny. Digital display that automatically cuts power as soon as target pressure reached. Can pump up about six 30mm tires from zero to 60 psi on one charge if needed. So I just ordered a second one just to use at home. Because I'm just topping off about 5 psi extra every week, it doesn't get hot enough to need the extender tube (TPU tubes don't handle heat well). No valve to flip. I just shove the vavle opening onto the presta valve and hit the start button. It's done in a few seconds. That pump is only $40, so it's a no brainer. submitted by /u/DeadBy2050 to r/cycling [link] [comments]

Tire inflator recommendations
I’ve had my 2017 i3 for 7 years and I love this car! The only maintenance issue I have is that the tires sometimes lose pressure and I have to find a gas station with an air machine. Blow out water with tire inflator?
I’m on the road and heading home where it is 13 F degrees today. I can drain the tracks (fresh, gray, and black) before I get there. Can I buy a portable tire inflator to blow out the water lines? Will it work for that? Hope would I connect it to the city water footing? As an alternative, Is it a good idea to put the potable water anti freeze into the fresh water tank and run the faucets and toilet until the run pink. I read it leaves a smell that is hard to get rid of the next time I use the camper. Harbor Freight has a1 gallon air compressor for $160 that weighs 25 lbs I think I could fit on my bumper rack. Then I would need fittings to connect to the city water fitting. submitted by /u/mhuster to r/RVLiving [link] [comments]

Safe tire inflator for the 2026 model?
https://a.co/d/8r7IkBa Ive been doing some research on the best budget tire inflators and set my eyes on this model. However, I am receiving mixed results on if this is compatible with the 2026 outback premiums 12v power outlet. Some mention it could overexceed the power limits and cause fuse issues. Looking for a good tire inflator
Title is the tldr. I had a cheapo one I bought from temu a couple years ago—and I'm ngl, it was amazing. It cost like $30 I think, and I USED the ever living bejesus out of that thing. I live where it can be super cold or super hot, and there's always construction. I've helped my friends, family, and myself countless times. After helping my partner fill her flat one morning, I foolishly placed the inflator on my car (parked in my garage), and must've forgotten it there, never to be seen again. (I think I drove off with it there) Thank you for reading my idiot moment story. I'd like one that plugs into the car itself, and with some attachments to fill water tubes and balloons and things, but being good at filling tires and robust enough for me to not have to care about babying the thing. And lastly, keeping it under $60 would be great. Thanks in advance! UPDATE: Thanks everyone, you've been fast and accurate in sharing your experiences. With what I researched and read here, I'm pretty much set on the Ryobi Inflator/Deflator combo. As many have said, with big amp batteries (that I happen to have already) it will outperform cheaper corded options, while still being under budget. Thanks again! I bookmarked a few of the expensive options to invest in later on, for overlanding and camping. UPDATE 2: I've beat the living crap out of this thing and it works amazingly. Does everything it should and more. If you've got the battery or are already in the Ryobi family, buy it. submitted by /u/howeirdworks to r/Tools [link] [comments]

Looking for a small portable tire inflator
Hi, My goal in getting one of these inflators is for those times the tpms light goes on - I don’t want to scramble to get to a gas station and get quarters for the air pump (been there done that). I’d like a device as small as possible, with a gauge you can set to stop at the desired psi. My concern on a lot of these devices (and I may be wrong here) is that the cigarette lighter plug-in wire is too short for the inflator to reach the tire. If that’s the case, do you have to now charge the inflator? How long does that take? Or do you constantly keep the battery charged? Looking for small (maybe fit in console or glove?) and simple. Thanks for suggestions submitted by /u/Stock_Caterpillar291 to r/tires [link] [comments]

Has anyone used one of those portable tire inflaters that plugs into the 12V hole in a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek?
Living in a cold place for the first time in my life and starting to worry about how the tire pressure keeps getting low, I got a warning while driving and had to refill the air in all my tires while it was -10 degrees Celsius outside. The warning is gone but I need to add more air tomorrow bc it’s just barely in the right range , I couldn’t feel my fingers so I gave up for the night and went home once the warning light was off. I’m nervous about it. So hence the title are those things worth buying? submitted by /u/slightlylessright to r/subaru [link] [comments]

Fav 12V Tire Inflator
What is your current favorite 12V tire inflator air compressor? No cordless Auto shut off Nothing extra beyond light Bonus if can run on 120V AC I have had, and recommended/gifted, this FORTEM one, but it recently fell off my car and the case broke all around it. Still together and works, but not the reliability I desire. Price is right at $35 and only 80dB. From what I have seen recommended: Viair EVC85P for $81: seems highly recommended brand, no AC but everything else, 80dB HF Pittsburgh 12/120V for $55: mixed HF quality history, unknown noise, has dual power NOCO AIR10 for $100 or AIR15 for $130: solid brand reputation, but expensive, no AC, 81 & 83dB EPAuto for $34: price is right, looks more robust than Fortem, but 92dB! Stick with Fortem - have had one for 5 years without issue until now submitted by /u/Both-Activity6432 to r/VEDC [link] [comments]

There's all these little things I didn't know and wish I did. I learned these all the hard way. What little thing did you learn, that you wish you had known? Things that make things last longer. These are some of mine: Clothes Dryers: Lint kills dryers. Even if you are religious about clearing the lint trap, it's important to occasionally vacuum out the vents. Too many towels in the dryer at once kills dryers. The lint trap may catch the lint, but the blocked air flow from a towel lint will wear your dryer out. This is especially true, if you use towels until they become rags until the rags disintegrate. Air conditioners: Clean your coils! And change the filter monthly. For window or portable air conditioners, clean filter at least weekly. This will make ya cooler when it's hot outside and can help the a/c last longer. Refrigerators: Unplug it and open that thing up from the back, and clean those coils! Brushes for clearing Dryer Lint double as refrigerator coil brushes. Nothing like figuring out the main issue with a 24 year old refrigerator was 24 years of build-up on the coil. Who knew?! I didn't. Outdoor spigots and hoses: Apply Vaseline to the threads before connecting a hose. Do this with anything you connect the hose to long term, like a nozzle. This way, when you want to remove that hose or disconnect a nozzle later, it won't have corroded together permanently. Vehicles: Properly inflated tires last longer. Battery powered, digital, portable tire inflates are available and affordable. It's easier now than it has ever been to keep your tires inflated. Motorcycles: If it's going to sit for an extended period, empty the fuel tank and put it on a battery tender. Ethanol is deadly, (well... not deadly, but really bad) for older bikes that live in the garage without moving for long period of time. submitted by /u/No_Poetry4371 to r/Frugal [link] [comments]

AITA for backing out of a 15-minute favor when it suddenly turned into an hour-plus-long ordeal?
Context: I work from home two days per week; today is one of those days. My wife's workday ends at 4:00, mine ends at 5:30. Today, when my wife got home (about 4:15), she called me downstairs pretty much as soon as she came in the front door, to tell me that she's left her car running and would I please take it over to Discount Tire (DT) because one of the tires is low. (For those not aware, DT provides complementary inflation and (non-sidewall) tire repairs.) Without complaint, I agree because it's only a 5-minute drive each way, so I can just take a quick 15-minute break from work. I drive her car down there, and the guy tops up 3 tires, but on the 4th his machine won't dispense any air. I see him check it with a manual pressure gauge and then he comes up to the window and tells me that the tire is under 15 PSI, so he can't inflate it, but he says they're not very busy right now, they could repair the tire after only about a half-hour wait. I let him know that I need to get back to work, is there any way he can add even a little bit of air so I can maybe have my wife bring it back and wait? He says no, because it's "basically flat". I call my wife to let her know this - my intention is to ask her if I drive back home, would she want to drive it back to DT now since the wait is relatively short (when they're busy, it can be a 2+hour wait), or if not I can at least make an appointment while I'm here. But I don't even get that far; she just wants me to stay and wait for it (even though she's already done working for the day). I tell her I really need to get back to work, and she gets very upset. I ask DT Guy what exactly he meant by "basically flat" and he said I'm at 13 PSI. I confirm with him that this means I'm not at immediate risk of the rim tearing up the inside of the tire if I drive it back home right now, so I tell my wife that I'm coming back and I'll be there in 5 minutes. As I'm driving home I get a couple of texts, including "I'll just have you drive me to work tomorrow and my car can sit in the f***ing driveway for all I care", but of course I don't read them until I get home. I go inside to make another attempt to explain the specifics of the situation (I haven't even been able to tell her that it's not actually flat flat, yet), but she refuses to listen to a word of it, telling me she isn't going to listen to anything I have to say for the next week, and that I've "ruined everything". I don't recall every word exchanged, but I know I did tell her that she was acting like a child, and in the end saying "Fine, I'll go back there and I'll just have to work until 8pm tonight!" to which she responded with "Good, I don't want to see you!" I did go back to DT, and started composing this post while waiting. AITA? Editing to answer some common questions. We do own a portable air compressor, it takes about 5 minutes for it to fill one tire, and it's in the trunk of her car. Taking care of car things is my chore, but every time she's asked me to inflate her tires I have done so - I wasn't neglecting them. Also, the last time I put air in, I told her that she needs to make a trip to DT after work ASAP (because I work until 5:30 and DT closes at 6:00) to get that tire checked for damage, since it loses air faster than the others. She is generally in charge of discretionary spending, so if the tire had needed to be replaced (repairs are free at DT), she would need to be there to compare the options available. DT is the opposite direction from home as her work, that's probably why she didn't go there on her way home from work. She didn't drive my car to DT because we only have one key for it, and it didn't occur to me to take it out of my pocket before leaving. No, she is not like this all the time. submitted by /u/Dansiman to r/AmItheAsshole [link] [comments]

Any recommendation for portable tire inflator?
I just got a low tire pressure warning on my MYP. It's currently at 34psi which is normal for most tires but since they are performance tires they are spec'd to be at 41psi(cold). Now I'm thinking of buying a portable tire inflator since I expect to have to check and inflate my tires more frequently. It will also come in handy for long roadtrips. Any recommendations on a portable inflator? Digging around on Amazon shows quite a few compact battery powered portable inflators so things have improved a long ways from my foot pump :). submitted by /u/Public_Explanation_1 to r/TeslaModelY [link] [comments]

Buy a tire inflator if you own this car
This morning as i was headed to the gym my car gave me a low PSI warning, 21 PSI on my rear right tire. I can visually see and feel the nail so i plugged in my portable pump and went to work. Got back up to 42 psi before headed off to America’s Tire for a patch. submitted by /u/PeterLegend626 to r/TeslaModelY [link] [comments]

Neighbor Called the Cops on Me for Putting Air in My Tires
I was using a portable air pump to inflate my tires and the cops pulled up. Said they were called about someone stealing a catalytic converter. I told them what I was doing, showed my ID and they left, but not before telling me they would be citing the caller for wasting their time. People need to mind their own business. Imagine if I had been under the car where the CC actually is; I probably would have been shot. submitted by /u/Eccentric_Mammal to r/Apartmentliving [link] [comments]

Recommendations for a portable tire inflator?
UPDATE (9.4.2024) - got the Viair 84P, thankfully havent had to use it much, but it's been perfect the few times I have used it. Feels good to have the independence from air machines at gas stations. Kind of trying to slot this under the vEDC category, but I am trying to find a good portable tire inflator to keep in teh car. Got a flat today and turns out my spare was uinder inflated, which I obviously never want to happen again. Here's what I'm looking for, if anyone has any recommendaitons, I'd be happy to hear them: Under $65ish dollars (was looking at the Craftsman earlier, but trying to keep it affordable) Powered by cigarette lighter, would love a wall plug as well. Looking to stay away from batteries. Not looking for anything I have to hook up to my car battery Speed of inflation is king Need to be able to inflate to at least 65 PSI (for the spare) Dont need a light on the device Open to all suggestions, or lmk if I'm getting my priorities wrong. Appreciate it! submitted by /u/_huntro to r/VEDC [link] [comments]

LPT: Buy a small Tire Inflator(Portable Air Compressor) and keep it in the trunk of your car
They're under $30 and this has helped so many people and myself so many times. As a bonus you'll never have to deal with that low tire pressure light. I guess this part is obvious but just in case make sure it plugs to your cars cigarettes lighter(12v). submitted by /u/Joelico to r/LifeProTips [link] [comments]

Check your tire pressure. Proper inflation extends the life of your tires and saves gas.
Life Pro Tip Common sense: Keep your tires at their recommended PSI. When the temperature drops, so does the air pressure in your tires (mine dropped 5+ PSI when the season changed). Your tires will last longer, your car will be safer and your gas mileage will be marginally better. Tips: Buy a tire pressure gauge for $1-15 and a portable air compressor for $35. You can get air for free some places, but I prefer to check and inflate on my own schedule. Check the pressure when your tires are cold. The correct tire pressure is marked on a sticker on the inside of your driver's side rocker panel. NOT on the tire itself. Check your manual if you can't find it. Do your spare tire a couple times a year too. That's it. Feel good about yourself. submitted by /u/Krrkdm to r/Frugal [link] [comments]
