I have a office/ guest room where we also have a small treadmill and decided to open up more space by using our 8y old Ikea pull out sofa and convert it to Murphy bed. I usually try to film things for my YT channel but 90% of the things I built I am yo lazy yo film as it takes x3 the time. Sunday morning i dropped some food cooked in olive oil on the sofa bed and immediately wiped it down with some Paper towel and when that wasn't working used some warm soapy water with a microfiber cloth to remove it and dry it out with paper towels It|l be almost 48 hours soon What can i do to remove it? I’m looking to replace the current couch in our guest room/my office with a sleeper sofa, so we don’t have to bring out the uncomfortable air mattress when we have guests sleep over. Would love some recommendations and/or reviews on what sleeper sofa to NOT buy. Here’s the requirements I’m looking for: 1. Couch width: around 80”, anything longer than 85” is way too long for the space. (Doesn’t matter if it’s full or queen once it’s in bed form) 2. Budget: under $2000 (after tax and delivery) 3. Preferably leather or a fabric that’s easy to clean and water resistant like performance velvet. I don’t really have a style preference 4. Preferably in pull-out bed style or pop out mattress style. I don’t really like the look of a futon, I also slept on a futon as my main bed for like 3 years as a child so maybe I have PTSD 5. Preferably be able to see the couch in stores but not required 6. Bonus points: if it has some type of storage I was eyeing the Ikea Morabo sleeper in leather for a while, but it’s 87” and that would be too long. I am currently looking at the West Elm Whitman Trundle and it’s a good length and I got a swatch of their performance velvet, and it’s water resistant and can be easily cleaned. But the West Elm stores in Washington don’t have that couch, and I’m not able to find any review or videos of it other than the official product photos, so I’m kinda reluctant to drop $1600+ on it. I’ve seen a lot of good leather sleepers that meet my criteria but they’re all so ridiculously expensive, and I know it may not be possible to find a couch that meet those criteria, but if there is one that meets 1 and 2 then I would still consider it, if it comes to that. Ok, so I'm looking for a needle in a haystack, there's probably no such thing, like a spork, it's useful to save space but it has compromises. Ideally: - proper mattress or feels like one (My partner's family and friends are from abroad and so tend to stay long periods, so I want it to be comfortable to sleep on for a week or two at a time) - none of those straps (I absolutely hate it when you sit on the end and you feel like you're falling through) - comfy sofa for a snug - would love it if the head of the bed faces the back rather than side - Budget: willing to save up, so just give me quality (within reason, I'm not a millionaire). Again, I know I'm asking a lot, but I've read so many threads and so many "articles" about them but they all seem lacking comfort. I know they must exist, because my grandparents have an incredibly comfortable sofa-bed but it's so old that there aren't any second hand and the manufacturer is no longer operating. EDIT: (1 year on) still looking as we've been renovating and it's not the key piece of the house, so please keep suggesting if you come across this post, and thank you so much to all the suggestions so far. Our family lives in a very tight space. We don't have a bedroom for me and my husband and are using a folding Amazon floor mattress on the floor right now. We are hoping to find a daybed or a sofa bed to turn our living room into our "bedroom". Do you have any recommendations for a sofa or daybed that can be used daily and is still comfortable? Title says it all, really. Staying over my sister's at the moment because my house is infested and I'm sleeping on a right cheap, flimsy sofa bed in her spare room. Woke up an hour ago and before I get out of bed I like to sit on the side of it and cry for a bit but today as I've flipped me legs over (I sleep naked) my bollocks fell into the metal workings and are now stuck. Don't really want to ask my sister as I don't want her having to fiddle around with my bollocks and I'm too embarrassed to call the fire brigade. I'm in a right pickle here. Update cheers everyone for all the advice and support.
