I’m trying to create a custom king size bed frame. I’m thinking I would source the wood. Take the wood to a shop to get made. Then take it to an upholstery shop to finish it. I’m getting confused on the layers and sequence of layers. I want something luxurious. Fiancée and I are looking to get a bit more space as we are starting to prioritize our health/sleep and now have a dog. Currently on a queen with a foam mattress topper, often times we wake each other up from tossing/turning. For me personally, I find the bed really uncomfortable (it’s hers she brought it when we moved in) to the point where I get a better nights sleep on our couch. My top half tends to sink into the bed, giving the feeling of sleeping upside down no matter my position. We got the mattress topper primarily for me, because it’s a very firm mattress. For the first month my hips and arms were falling asleep (extreme discomforting numbness) as I tend to sleep on my stomach or side. First time I’d ever experienced that. My Fiancée is more concerned with price, but I’m always willing to shell out a little more for the long term investment and benefits. Is this a good deal or would I be wasting my money on a subpar mattress? She’s also concerned with the free bed frame they’re offering due to aesthetics (she wants a headboard).
