Seeking feedback on Adjustable Frame (iTilt) + Mattress Choices (King Koil, Custom Comfort, Sleepez, +more)
Some brief background: Me: Suffer from a few slipped discs in lower/mid back sleep apnea (CPAP) GERD back sleeper Prefers firmer mattresses (med-firm - firm) Wife: no health issues side sleeper Prefers ~medium firmness mattresses (medium - medium-firm) What we have currently: Mattress: Cal-King Beautyrest Black Frame: Thuma frame TLDR; What are your thoughts on the iTilt adjustable frame specifically? Are there any recommendations on good quality mattresses that you think I've missed or should consider in addition to the ones I listed below? Any thoughts (pros/cons) on the mattresses I am currently considering? ---- MORE DETAIL ---- What I'm currently considering as replacement: To briefly summarize, we want to switch to an adjustable bed to help with my bad back primarily and secondarily for my sleep apnea with my GERD being a distant third (mostly under control with a strong healthy diet). After much debate between pros/cons we settled on a split California-King as the way to go for us. Mattresses (All split Cal-King): King Koil Intimate: Sterling Grove Euro Top Firm (~$ Would prefer to spend less, but I do really like this mattress, saw it in the showroom and it was quite nice. Overall this was a decent brand and the wife seemed to really like it. I'm still a bit on the fence, especially because of their poor return policy. I've heard good things overall, though. Found it mentioned on here, looked them up, looks good, but I see no place to try them out, so I'm unsure. The return policy is not perfect, but at least it seems semi-reasonable (if not a bit of a hassle and some cost). What I like most is the price - it's much closer to what I envisioned paying for a decent mattress. I also like the idea of customizing the comfort sides for my wife & I since we sleep differently. Custom Comfort: Overall this was a decent brand and the wife seemed to really like it. I'm still a bit on the fence, especially because of their poor return policy. What I like most is the price - it's much closer to what I envisioned paying for a decent mattress. I also like the idea of customizing the comfort sides for my wife & I since we sleep differently. Adjustable Frames: Reasons for choosing this frame: Full flat tilt option seems like a good option for my wife who sleeps on her side. I also sleep on my side on rare occasion (used to all the time). It's my understanding the iTilt has all the features that really matter, like wall-hugging, head/foot positioning, and of course the flat tilt feature (which seems to be very rare). (I don't care about massage or lighting or smart features - of which I know it has some.) This post is mostly interested in the following feedback: What are your thoughts on the iTilt frame specifically? Is it worth the money for someone with my situation? Are there better options perhaps I'm not aware of? (I haven't found any) Any thoughts (pros/cons) on the mattresses I am currently considering? Thank you in advance to any and all feedback. Really appreciate you taking the time to read and offer some help with this very frustrating process. UPDATE: Pulled the trigger on the iTilt. I will update this post with more info after I receive it and have spent some time with it. I’m still trying to settle on a mattress. EDIT: Came back to reference my post for mattresses and saw a bunch of duplicated text - unsure if the reddit app did that or something corrupted since I posted. From CalKing to Queen
I gave my friend a Cal King mattress and he cut it down with a chainsaw to fit his queen bed frame. He just put a tight sheet on it and it is working out great for him! I have a high end mattress (it didn’t come in shrink wrap) and I would like to go down to a queen too. Does anyone this is a bad idea? I just don’t want to buy a new mattress they are so expensive. submitted by /u/Toniisquitting to r/CasualConversation [link] [comments]

Cal King upgrade: what actually fixes back and shoulder pain
Lower back and shoulder pain after years on the same mattress usually means the support layers are done, not that your body suddenly changed. In most cases a medium-firm feel hits the sweet spot because it keeps your spine aligned while still letting shoulders sink enough. I usually point people toward hybrids or dense foam builds around a foot thick since they resist sagging better than plush pillow tops. If your frame doesn’t have a center rail or tight slats, fix that first or any new mattress will feel wrong fast. Latex is worth testing in person if you sleep hot or hate that stuck-in-foam feel. It cushions like foam at first but pushes back gently, so you stay lifted instead of sinking. Also double-check your bed size before buying; plenty of folks think they own a California king and don’t. Trials matter more than brand names. A 100-night window is ideal because your body needs a few weeks to adjust and pain relief isn’t instant. I’ve seen people blame a mattress after three nights when they just hadn’t adapted yet. Curious what firmness and mater submitted by /u/Life-Procedure-5155 to r/BedroomBuild [link] [comments]

I need help finding a cal-king bed frame!
I need help finding a bed frame that is sturdy but also goes with our current room furniture. We have a white upholstered bed frame we got from wayfair 2-3 years ago and it is beat tf up now. The first year we had it, it was on carpet, supportive, and I was in love. We moved out to a new rental that has gray vinyl plank flooring (sad, I know), and now our bed slips on the floor constantly. We tried the non-slip pads under but they wore away fast. Over the past 1-2 years the slipping has caused the metal supports to bend, and now my side of the bed sags and I have back pain every morning. Our mattress is a cal-king we got from Costco 3 years ago and it’s the best and most cozy mattress ever, but now the bed issues are making me want to sleep on the couch. We have a dark green wall, rattan end tables and will be keeping the white comforter. I am also looking to have a bohemian vibe in the room, so any other suggestions are welcome. My budget is around $200-$300 for the bedframe, headboard or no headboard is fine. The green wall photo is our room currently. submitted by /u/AstronautChoice4941 to r/bedroom [link] [comments]

Heavy duty bed frames
Does anybody have any recommendations on bed frames? I need something that’s not going to break after a night of wild fun or something that’ll last longer than a few months. Edit: thank you for all your recommendations 😇 I’ve been looking at each link to see if they’ll work for me. But most of them don’t have an option for a cal king bed frame 😅. I should’ve been more specific and that’s on me. Again thank you for your recommendations so far. submitted by /u/EmotionalOne7679 to r/PlusSize [link] [comments]

Really strong CalKing bed frame?
I'm a big guy - 400lbs, 6'5" - moving to a new house, and I'd like to have a bed that will actually survive me for once. After extensive research, I've settled on the Saatva HD California king with the Adjustable Plus frame they sell. The question, then: what bed frame? I thought I'd struck gold when I found the well-rated Thuma classic that supports 1500lbs, but digging deeper, its flat top and low headboard are said to look ridiculous with a tall mattress/base. Other frames often don't list a weight limit online, and especially don't if you get something from a physical store or made by a carpenter. My question, then: Is there something around the $1k-2.5k range of bed frames that: Works with an adjustable, zero-clearance base, specifically Saatva Can be delivered to the continental US Doesn't look like cheap junk Is deep enough that a high mattress/base doesn't look silly Has a headboard Is strong enough that I can flop in to it without hearing the dying gasp of overworked wood submitted by /u/mwoody450 to r/Mattress [link] [comments]

Bed frame building advice 🥲
Hi everyone!! I bought a Mellow Naturalista Classic (12”, pine) full size bed frame off Facebook and it was missing the hardware. Now I am trying to source the hardware, but it’s proving harder to figure out exactly what I need. The manufacturer doesn’t sell hardware kits. I’m not really handy but I’m determined to make this work. Without trial and error, is there a good way to figure out: - the thread count of the screws - the exact lengths of the screws (I can probably approximate, but I don’t want to get it too long and poke through the wood) Does anyone have this bed frame and know these specs? Or does anyone have any advice on what I should do next to figure it out? Linking the instruction manual with no specs to be found! SoftFrame Ultra Bed Frame dupes/alternatives
As title says, looking to purchase a bed frame that somewhat like this. Ideal budget is sub $750 for a king sized frame, but could be a little flexible. https://softframedesigns.com/products/the-ultra-set-upholstered-bed-frame-and-headboard?variant=34930979307687 https://preview.redd.it/qjq5h1jrjboe1.jpg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=56a280a6b4c3adbfaf13eec3a39f83301f8a1141 What draws me to this bed frame is the sunken design and the sides of the frame and how they stick out a few inches from the bed. It's almost as if the bed frame is cradling the bed itself. Another draw is that the frame is flat on the ground, which stops my cat from getting underneath the bed. If I can't find anything, this bed could be purchased w/o the headboard for within my budget, but just wondering if anyone here has seen any other bed frames/dupes of this frame that's sub $750 with the headboard. I've seen Thumas, but those are more expensive than this. submitted by /u/DickSkinMcGee to r/malelivingspace [link] [comments]

King size Stern & Foster bed
Regular king size bed (NOT cal king) This was not used much, it is a plush top which didn’t work well for me so we put this in the guest room and replaced our primary mattress. I would rate this soft or very soft. It was pretty expensive when we purchased it, and I would rate it a 9/10. No stains, it had a mattress protector on it I think when we were using it. Comes with mattress, box springs, and frame. You must pickup and bring downstairs from 2nd floor. Pickup off i5 and Arena in Natomas. submitted by /u/Hey_its_Jack to r/SacramentoBuyNothing [link] [comments]

Tables of Data for Adjustable Zero Gravity Capable Bed Frames of models made by Leggett & Platt, Ergomotion, and Reverie
TL;DR While thinking about this decision, I made a table showing key specs, and became a self-proclaimed expert instantly. Explanation in post (and a comment reply from me) here https://old.reddit.com/r/Mattress/comments/1bnd6q7/shopping_for_adjustable_zero_gravity_frame/ Important Note: Keep in mind each model likely has slight variations not presented in the table data below. After I organized this data into a table yesterday and then visited a mattress store looking at some of the models, I realized seeing slight differences in designs, etctera, and I didn't think about it until I saw the differences at the store. ErgoMotion Rio 4.0 doesn't mention lumbar on the page, but the manual mentions lumbar. Manuals for v1,2,3 do not mention lumbar support, but v4,5,6 do. v5,6 pages show lumbar support head pillow tilt? I don't understand this too well, but I see ErgoMotion Rio v5 and v6 appear to have different implementations of this, and L&P only has 1 model with it, so I'm not sure how to interpret this yet wallhugger? ErgoMotion calls it wall saver. Leggett & Platt calls it wallhugger. anti-snore? Apparently it's to slightly elevate the upper portion of the bed, and if other sleepers can't sleep from sound of snoring, this may automatically (or manually?) interrupt/disrupt/cease the snoring. I assume for manual one-touch anti-snore button pressings, there should be another human available to press that button, otherwise for single sleepers with no nonsleeping humans, anti-snore is useless unless automated by nonhuman automation. submitted by /u/jkhanlar to r/Mattress [link] [comments]
