I think one of my kids used the carpet cleaner to suck up cat poop, it isn’t spraying out any cleaning solution anymore. I’ve managed to disassemble the carpet cleaner up to this point but I cannot get the hose out to clean it. The hose is slotted into the white piece shown, which is slotted into the larger chassis. I can’t push it back due to the two black tabs behind the white casing and I can’t push it up because of the white casing slotted into the chassis. While looking around the orphanage, I noticed the pattern in which the girls hit the beds. It goes like this: 3 hits at the same pace, pause, then 3 hits again, then 3 hits, pause, then 6 hits. After that, 4 hits where the 5th and 6th hits are faster, followed by a longer pause of about 5 seconds. Then it ends with 3 hits, pause, and 3 hits again. I also found building blocks throughout the place. They’re always the same blocks, but sometimes their positions change. When you go down the stairs, there are carpets with letters and symbols on them, including the same letters that appear on the blocks. I have a carpet cleaner but is meant for large floor surfaces not upholstery or small rugs. Even the one I have cannot hold enough water to clean a small bedroom without having to dump the dirty water out and refill with solution multiple times. I want a portable carpet cleaner for my couch as I have a dog. I just don’t want one that won’t have to refill 10 times to just clean a cushion. My partner's mother is in a home living disaster (lots and lots of clutter-borderline TLC style of clutter-combined with 3 cats and a goober of a dog) and it's been affecting her lifestyle and happiness a lot. The situation hasn't always been like this, but recently after a massive financial crisis from losing her job and moving into a new one that requires practically all of her time (leaving her no time to properly clean up), her home has fallen to bits. My partner and I are going to organize and clean her house back into perfection, including a cleanse of the carpets (the animals have definitely made some marks). That being said, I did not realize how complicated carpet cleaning actually was. The chemistry involved, and the type of machinery, is a lot to dig into. I get a lot of folks are saying "hire a professional, as those machines have the suction power to deal with the weight of the water and detergents," or "store bought machines don't pull the water out before it soaks into the padding below," so on and so forth but here is the problem: I'm a broke university student who can't put more than $200 into this; the house in question is a townhome with no means of parking out front which requires a portable cleaner and not the truck, and finally I'm not willing to move larger furniture that's not mine. So with that all said, I need this community's help on whether I should rent a machine or buy one (I wouldn't put the bought one to waste, I have a 4WD vehicle and use a portable carpet cleaner a lot to clean the seats, and honestly it has like no power). Hello! I recently have come into the possession of a Bissell Big Green Professional Carpet Cleaner. I use it, it works really well sucks up alot of water so it dries quickly etc. I do follow all of the instructions that come with it so I am not concerned about any issues. Im wondering what solution you would reccomend for this machine. I like to use it every two weeks or so. But ive read that good scented products can attract and hold more dirt. And could be soap/detergent based. I have pets and ive also heard things about keeping them off carpet that has been treated with certain products as well. 1) what do you reccomend it use with this machine. I grabbed a carpet cleaner during black friday and been using it for like two weeks. I have light carpets and between coffee spills, crumbs from eating on the couch, and dirt getting tracked everywhere, they were looking kinda gross. So far this things been doing pretty good picking up spills and washing out stains at the same time. It heat dries the carpet pretty quick too which is nice 'cause i hate that soggy carpet feeling after cleaning. I actually like this thing and dont wanna kill it in 6 months like my last vacuum (never emptied the canister enough and it just stopped working one day lol), so figured id ask: What do you guys do to keep it working good and not getting clogged or smelly? Do you clean the roller and dirty water tank every single time or is that overkill? And does it matter what cleaning solution i use or can i just grab whatever? Every carpet cleaner I've ever had or used has a massive used water tank on them, but the "full" line is always maybe 1/4 of the actual tank. Why. Like, the cleaning solution tank is the same size, but it can actually be filled up, if the point is to make less trips, why can't you actually fill the dirty water tank? Also, if possible, where can I get a carpet cleaner that will actually use the space it provides? Ok this just happened today and I'm still shaking my head in disgust. It's SpringSummer cleaning time and I found the cheapest carpet cleaner rental in my area which is $15 for 24hours. Plenty of time for my small little place. But hold up, the store policy states that I'm "Required" to purchase their Carpet cleaner solution with the rental to make sure I use the correct product. Fine, whatever.. I'll just get a small bottle because hey... my carpet space small. Only problem is, ALL of the carpet cleaning solutions from small to medium size bottles are sold out. The dust on the shelf tells me they've been sold out for quite some time too. The only bottles left are the industrial sized gallon jugs of the Oxyclean expensive stuff. WTF? Restock much? The sales clerk and I come to verbal blows because I'm not spending $35 on 120 oz of carpet cleaning solution. The MOD finally appears and is less than helpful. Has no intention of being understandable or reasonable. I attempt to compromise by going to another store of theirs 2 miles away to pick up the correct size solution if they have it on hand. No, he is having none of it. I asked to speak to corporate and I'm given one of their phones to call. While on hold, I start googling DIY Carpet cleaning solution and find an ULTRA CHEAP alternative on the top search. In fact, the store that I was at had 2 of the 4 ingredients right there for $1.00 each. I speak to a corporate official and its their policy that I must purchase solution with the rental for insurance reasons. WTF? seriously? I then asked what the return policy was on unused product that I purchase that has a receipt. The official said I could return all unopened/unused product within XX amount of days. He even caught on to what I was implying but policy is policy. I hang up, head down a few aisles, pick up the 2 ingredients that I needed, return to the counter and complete the transaction. $15 Machine rental $35 Tub of solution $1 Household cleaner $1 Oxyclean microbox. I headed home and quickly mixed the Laundry detergent and softener I had already, added the Household cleaner and scoop of Oxyclean. Single best carpet cleaner I've ever used hands down! Been renting machines for years and I was impressed at how good this solution was. Used about 8-10 oz of the DIY solution with enough left over for next time around. I finished in about 2 hours and loaded up the machine. As I returned the rental, I asked that the Carpet Solution be credited back as well. The same MOD I spoke too not hours ago threw a major hissy-fit saying that I'm NOT allowed to return the product. Told him to dial the same corporate official I spoke with. I told him flat out that had he restocked, I would have gladly purchased and used the smaller bottle. The look on his face as he was forced to return the solution was all the victory I needed. That's what you get for pulling this purchase policy scam and not restocking normal inventory. TL:DR - Store Manager enforces a Policy that requires me to purchase expensive cleaning solution with my machine rental. I created a DIY cleaning solution that was far superior and I returned the unopened bottle to a scowling manager. His scam didn't work.
