Hey everyone, sharing the saga of over-engineering a closet rod support with you. Before I had a 3D printer, I made one out of PVC pipe—it was pretty ugly, but it got the job done. Now that I have the printer, I decided to create Version 2. First, I designed a geometry to cover the holes with a more rounded look. Then, I moved on to validation by calculating potential stresses, along with a topological analysis to see where I could reduce mass. This led me to the final model, which maintains the aesthetics while reducing the mass by 1 g. Rental closet left like this. I want to install one rod up high, higher than the cleat. The other rod lower down. Drill both rods directly into wood stud in the wall. However there are no shelves to attach a support bracket for the middle. I think without a support bracket the rods will definitely give out. They need help with actual design because they don't know what they need. They have a handyman but he's a wonderful combination or slow, expensive, mid quality work, and doesn't have ideas. I contacted California Closets for them and immediately a woman is saying she'll drive nearly 2 hours from Boston for the "free consult." It seemed a little aggressive. We're going to do a virtual consult this weekend, but CC is probably out of their league. If absolutely necessary--if 6x8 feet is too small to design--they may consider extending the closet 1-2 feet into the overly large BR. They don't want to do that. But if so, this could potentially be more than closet design, but that's the critical part. They want nice but it's a small project and not interested in ultra-deluxe. It's not because sadly it's not permanent but it did help me level up my witch up to level 3 in just one day. As you can see the wolves and cultist cannot detect you. Oh boy oh boy, it's been a minute! In the past two weeks or so, I've made some decent progress on the room. The changes are as follows: MINI FRIDGEEEEEE (stocked, I swear I'm not 5 years old 💀) Posters! I also want to make something of myself. But at times I get so lost in the whirlpool of this world, I just don't know which way to go. But there is this one thing that keeps calling me back... don't I had messed around with the idea of making video games for a while, ever since I was in high school. I even attended college for a short period of time for video game programming. But school just never sat right in my stomach, and I always seemed to just give up on the idea. What I was doing for a short lived amount of time was YouTube vlogs and stuff, but I've come to find I dont really like it. I would much rather write a book of my life (which I will do at some point), or talk on my own blog style podcast (currently doing this), than record every second of my life. But what if I combined the two ideas into the best of both worlds? I could start recording my journey to becoming a video game programmer/developer and upload the videos to YouTube. Then, when my games get released I already have a fanbase ready to play them. This way, things are less intrusive into my life, I would just let my reddit profile, podcast, and future book take care of all my personal life story details. Anywho, GIANORMOUS THANK YOU TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU!!! I really appreciate all the love, support, and advice you guys have been giving, it goes to a special place in my heart. To have built a community of sorts is astonishing, and I still can't believe what has happened. I truly do hope my journey has served as something others can use as hope for themselves. Those 20 minutes locked in the bathroom felt like years, and the shame keeps me from talking to anyone about it. I moved across the country to be with him, so I’m all alone. No friends or family here. He woke me up the next morning with kisses and breakfast and has been doing so a lot, lately. Probably the guilt. He even bought me flowers for the first time ever. After me hinting at wanting them for years. He thought my quiet crying was out of happiness. He even brought up buying a house for us, something with enough space for potential future children. I’m still going through the motions. Making his breakfast and protein shake everyday, packing his lunch, making sure dinner is almost ready when he comes home from the gym. What makes me the angriest is that I really, genuinely thought he wouldn’t do something like this. He watched his father cheat on his mother and father children out of their marriage, all while she struggled with infertility her entire life (my partner isn’t her biological son) and never had her own. She dedicated her life to the two of them and passed away of ovarian cancer shortly before we met. Sometimes I think about whether she regretted staying with her husband or not. We have a small shrine in her honor and something makes me look at and expect guidance. I love the man she raised and hate the one her husband did. But they’re both him, and he’s a grown ass man more than capable of self control, so I decided to walk away. Next week my car will be picked up and shipped back home, and I got first class tickets for me and my dog on his dime. Pet Cam Update March 14, 2022 Update: I turned it on for about ten minutes after I got back to my home and unpacked. He wasn’t there, but everything was a mess. Just a few things- I mentioned in a comment that I think his dad was the reason his mom passed: Not in the straight up k!ller way, but the “I cheated so much and gave my wife an STD that lead to her getting HPV, and since I didnt allow her to get medical treatment she ended up infertile with cervical cancer** (I misspoke and said ovarian) and died” way.
