RE:Where is everyone #5
@Tug Toy can you get double strength hydrogen peroxide? You don’t want to go any stronger than 6 percent. You can make a pretty decent foaming cleaner with it. Dawn dish soap works really well for this. Mix a 2 parts Hydrogen peroxide and 1 part Dawn dish soap. Just use the regular blue one. Best to spray it on the surface to clean. Really good degreaser.

Going to find that Dawn dish soap and pumice free hand cleaner work well on it. I won't usually rub both of them in good on the stains and let them sit for a while. And I wash them in hot water. I've had pretty good luck with that as long as it's not the black moly grease.

Dawn Dish Detergent is watered down garbage now.
They kept trying to get people hooked on their new products, that were mostly just watered down versions of the main one, but fortunately you could still buy Dawn Original and get more bang for your buck. Well, they closed that loophole by replacing the original formula with a new one that's way thinner and less effective. On the bright side, it must be really gentle on those ducks. You know, since there's no damn soap in it. submitted by /u/THEBHR to r/enshittification [link] [comments]

LPT If you spill something on a carpet/fabric, 2/3 hydrogen peroxide and 1/3 blue dawn dish soap will clean nearly ANYTHING up
My cat knocked over a FULL glass of a berry smoothie on our carpet today (we JUST moved into this house a few months ago, new build). I was panicked, and didn't know what to do. My husband knew this trick that saved our carpet. He mixed 2/3 hydrogen peroxide and 1/3 dawn dish soap (the ratio doesn't have to be this exact, we were in a panic cleaning it up), and looking at our carpet now, you can't even tell ANYTHING happened. I was in shock. I wasn't sure how common this tip was, but it was an absolute lifesaver and I hope it helps someone else out here! Took a rag, dipped it in the solution, and scrubbed away like magic! Edit: as some of the comments have noted, it depends on the material, and it is important to know how to extract soap if you ever put it on carpet. So use this tip on a case by case basis. I just know it worked out amazing for our terrible incident that occurred today and relieved us of a lot of stress. Happy for this post to be an opportunity to share even more useful tips! submitted by /u/Beyonkat2 to r/LifeProTips [link] [comments]

Dish soap to clean glasses: Is it safe?
I've been using Dawn in particular for years to clean my glasses because it gets them incredibly clean. Just run your hands and glasses through water then lather your hands up and start using your thumb and index finger to make circular patterns on both sides of the lens and then rinse everything off afterwards and let it air dry. Well, that's what I've been doing. Does it harm the prescription at all? I remember reading it didn't if you used (original) Dawn since it has less harmful chemicals in it, but I never looked too deep into it. So is it actually safe? If not, what do you use to clean your glasses? submitted by /u/ProposalSilent4582 to r/glassesadvice [link] [comments]

Dawn dish soap stain
Help! I put some regular blue dawn dish soap on my sweatshirt to get out a very small oil stain. I stupidly didn’t rinse the dish soap and left it overnight before washing. Lentil soup with smoked ham, onions, celery and dawn dish soap
Sautéed the onion and celery after cooking the lentils and ham for about 20 minutes only to find out the pan I grabbed was not rinsed well at all. I thought I maybe smelled soap when I was cooking but the soup was so aromatic it masked it. Taste testing the bubbles verified it though. I wish I could blame my wife but I really don’t remember which one of us washed that pan last submitted by /u/Potential-Draft-3932 to r/mildlyinfuriating [link] [comments]

AITA for refusing to move my roommate’s dishes and hiding the dish soap?
Yesterday night, I apparently committed the cardinal sin of wanting to wash my dishes. I washed a bowl I had used for fruit loops and a plate I had used for dinner. The plate was fairly greasy since I had Mac and cheese and oxtail for dinner. And there was still milk left in the cereal bowl when I washed it. As I approach the sink, I noticed that my roommate had left a dinner bowl, a cup, and a fork in the sink. I didn't touch any of those items and washed my own. I didn't notice at the time, but apparently me washing my stuff left a greasy film and discolored water sitting in my roommate's stuff, which she would come to find out this morning. She confronted me about it no less than an hour ago and said that next time if I wanted to wash something and her dishes were in the sink, the proper thing to do would be to move them (used an incredibly condescending tone by the way, as if she were speaking to a child). I told her I have no intention or desire to touch her stuff and that I wouldn't be doing that. For context, we had talked about leaving dishes in the sink, among other things, about a week ago and I did relay my feelings on that to her. I don't care as long as it doesn't stink and it doesn't block what I need to do. I don't know how one takes that to mean that I'm obligated to touch someone else's dirty dishes and move them before cleaning my own as well? I don't care what happens to your dishes. And if you leave them in the sink, you must not either. We drop the issue after some back and forth and she goes to wash her stuff in the sink. I keep a large bottle of Dawn by the sink. It is the only dish soap brand I use, which I also mentioned during our conversation. I remember jokingly stating that it's kind of a pain in the ass because it's more expensive than other dish soaps out there. We agreed to alternate purchasing it when it runs out, but I had bought this particular one. So what does she do? She loads the sponge with soap. I'm talking I watch her put a full layer of Dawn onto the surface of the sponge before running it under water, so most of it goes down the drain anyway. I asked if she uses that much every time, and she just shrugged and said that she used so much to combat the grease and muck left on her stuff. I didn't comment after that, but after she finished, I took the bottle to my room. The agreement we had can suck it. She hasn't noticed yet, but there's bound to be a blowout when she does. AITA here? Is there some sort of unspoken dish washing rule that says you should move someone else's stuff before washing your own dishes? Should I have left the dish soap by the sink? Edit: If you're thinking of commenting to say I should have washed her dishes because they were in the sink, save your breath. You'd genuinely have an easier time convincing a shark to become vegan. submitted by /u/Beenie_Baby to r/AmItheAsshole [link] [comments]

im trying to use dawn dish soap to get really old grease stains out of a white sweatshirt. will it just end up leaving blue stains?
i read that dawn dish soap is good for grease stains but forgot to do a test patch. ive left it there for over a day now and im worried the blue won’t leave when i wash it, much less the almost year old grease stains from when a theater employee spilled my popcorn on me. in any case will the blue come out? and if it does but the stains dont, what else can i do to get them out if its even possible? im gonna be at college so my resources will be limited, but im willing to go out and buy whatever if its at walmart/amazon edit; thanks everyone for all the reassurance as well as suggestions. these stains are almost a year old and haven’t been through the dryer at all, ftr. let’s hope i can get the actual stains out :) submitted by /u/pockysticks10 to r/laundry [link] [comments]

I still can’t believe why Dawn changed the scent of their soap. Like…..why?
As you all know by now, Dawn has permanently changed the scent of their soap to something horrendous and absolutely unpleasant. Their scent, which used to mild and actually smelled like soap, now smells like stinky, stinging cleaning chemicals. My experience with it is not good at all: it smells like dog feces but showered with Febreeze. It’s terrible, and I just can’t understand why Dawn would mess with something as simple as this. What Einstein in the Procter and Gamble HQ thought it would be a good idea to make this product smell like it came from a sewer? And Dawn’s website is flooded with extremely negative reviews. It’s staring to rise to “New Coke” levels of hate. Why do corporations love doing this? Dawn was mostly everybody’s favorite dish soap. Households used it, restaurants used it, animal rescue shelters used it. So why did they have to ruin something that was just perfectly fine as is? It’s unexplainable! submitted by /u/Plenty_Objective8392 to r/CleaningTips [link] [comments]

LPT: Fill a spray bottle with 10% Dawn dish soap and 90% water. You now have an incredibly effective and cheap multipurpose cleaner.
I discovered this recently. Take any spray bottle, empty it out and then add a 10% Dawn (I prefer Platinum) and 90% water. This spray can be used on windows, counters, toilet, floors and is really all purpose. It works wonders for soap scum in the bathtub if you let it sit too. You can also do this trick with concentrated liquid like Simple Green. Save some money, make this spray. A bottle of this will last a while since its so potent. submitted by /u/VarokSaurfang to r/LifeProTips [link] [comments]

Washing out hair dye? Does dish soap work?
Hi! I had balayage in my hair and it no longer looked good, so I dyed it all a dark brown, which is my natural color. However, it it quite a lot darker than I would like it to be. This was a few days ago. I've read that washing hair with dish soap (and following with conditioner) can do something to get a good bit of the dye out, and fade the color. Does anyone have experience doing this, or have any other methods? Thanks so much :) submitted by /u/darkwitchvibe to r/FancyFollicles [link] [comments]
