I am struggling with lighting with my current desk setup and am looking to replace the current lamp with either a monitor light bar or a clamp desk lamp, but I am not sure which one would work better in this situation. Currently, there is no overhead lighting, and the desk gets very dark during very cloud/overcast days, and I get a lot of eye strain while working at night. There is some natural light from the left window, but it's not enough. I see that monitor light bars such as the BenQ Halo 2 are highly recommended, but with my current setup, neither of the screens is centred. If I place a light bar on top of the 27" monitor, would it lead to uneven lighting (more light on the right side of the desk), defeating the purpose of a light bar? I work pretty late most days, and I’ve noticed my eyes feel way more tired at night than they used to. I work with a laptop and an external monitor. But lighting has always been tricky. My workspace is not near a window, and overhead lights just feel bad and often mess up the vibe. I've tried some desk lamps but they either create glare on the screen or leave parts of the desk unevenly lit. I am currently using a floor lamp next to my desk as the main light source. Curious how others handle desk lighting for late-night work. Do you rely on room light only, or some kind of task lighting? Not looking for anything fancy, just something that makes long sessions easier on the eyes. I made a large wooden one of these for my living room last year and decided making a mini one was the perfect way to learn cad. This is my first original design: a simple, minimalist corner desktop LED lamp. It’s designed to sit neatly in a corner and cast a soft, indirect glow on the wall. The lamp uses a cheap $7 LED strip from Amazon and prints in one piece, sitting at 10inches tall. Hey folks! I finally finished a project I left on the shelf for ages: the Luminous LuminaSnail Lamp. I I figured out a way to make the shell glow by hollowing it out perfectly to fit the Anycubic LED light kit. Print the shell in a translucent filament, pop the light kit inside, and you get this super cozy, ambient glow! It’s simple, functional, and adds a bit of natural whimsy to the desk.
