you guys have the wrong idea about these “cleaning” products
last i checked, b&bw is a scent company. a company that focuses on SCENT. so why do we think they’re trying to outperform dawn or marketing these products for their CLEANING POWER. “is it antibacterial? is it gonna cut grease?” probably not….No….. their focus is scents. obviously nothing can compare to dawn or whatever you use. The idea is, at least for the counter spray, clean your counters then use the spray for SCENT!! i can’t wait to see all the reviews about how it doesn’t clean well and they’re so shocked when obviously the main point for it is the scent. Theyre probably gonna market the cleaning power cuz they have to but we shouldn’t expect actual cleaning power from it. Like i said, it’s just for SCENT!!!!! like can we be real?? also, unless you’re not washing your dishes correctly, dish soap never leaves a scent on your dishes. ESPECIALLY so that you can taste them. you’re either smelling it on your hands or doing something wrong. submitted by /u/HauntingAddendum3230 to r/bathandbodyworks [link] [comments]

Cleaning shower with dish soap
So 2 weeks ago I saw a video on TikTok about cleaning your shower with dish soap… I thought it was one of those silly cleaning hacks. But I was thinking about trying it…. I have a stand up shower (no bath I’m also not sure what the official name of it is) anyway cleaning it has always been annoying. It’s very small and the way the doors open it’s very easy to get products on you whether you’re cleaning the doors or the walls… I decided to try the dish soap hack. That way while I’m already in there I can clean without having to worry about my clothes or skin getting chemicals on them. I bought a cheap sensitive easy on hands dish soap just incase. I’ve now been doing this for a week and my shower looks so shiny and clean. I was kinda worried about the glass but it’s fine too. If you wanna save time I’d recommend this! submitted by /u/idreaminlowercase to r/CleaningTips [link] [comments]

@newjersey Microwave ovens DO NOT PEEL. That would be a serious manufacturing defect, and would have been caught by Quality Control. You may be seeing some "food splatter" that dried onto the interior. Just use a wet dish cloth with soap or dishwashing liquid to wipe it down, and then rinse with plain water on the cloth.

I’ve used hydrogen peroxide for blood & other tough stains BUT you will want to do a spot test first as it can have a bleaching effect. I use it straight on the kids/DHs pants and stuff but here’s a pic with some more info about combing it with dish soap, I’ve found that helps on other fabrics. I always rinse & wash in cold water.

Lentil soup with smoked ham, onions, celery and dawn dish soap
Sautéed the onion and celery after cooking the lentils and ham for about 20 minutes only to find out the pan I grabbed was not rinsed well at all. I thought I maybe smelled soap when I was cooking but the soup was so aromatic it masked it. Taste testing the bubbles verified it though. Looking for Dish Soap Recommendations!
Hi y’all! I've been steadily making progress in reducing my waste over the past decade. I'm a big fan of reusable cotton produce bags. Ironically, my favorites are the ones that would have been trash if I hadn't saved them, not the ones I purchased a decade ago. I order coffee in bulk and roast it myself, and I adore the cotton bags it comes in for produce. This is one swap that has gone over very well in my household. I live with my parents, and they are open to some zero-waste swaps. We live in Los Angeles, so some swaps have been easy to make due to law changes, including bringing reusable bags, reusable straws, etc. I'm finally convincing them to make more swaps, including hand soap, laundry, and dishwasher tablets. No matter how hard we try, we cannot keep my dad from washing many dishes by hand, even though we use our dishwasher. This is unlikely to change, so I'm looking for some low/zero-waste swaps for dish detergent for hand washing dishes. I don't think he would be very open to a powder like Blueland or a dish bar. Are there any alternatives that any of y'all recommend, possibly tablets you dissolve in reusable containers or large refillable options? We’re also looking for items that aren't horrifically expensive, as we are on a budget. For context, I am in Northeast Los Angeles. There are some refill shops near me, but I'm not sure that is the most economical option. submitted by /u/KatherineCollects to r/ZeroWaste [link] [comments]

At my wits end - dish soap woes
I’ve tried all the “green” dish soaps and I’m about to give up trying and just use Dawn. My husband is great but his biggest flaw is his inability to properly clean dishes and a non-grease fighting soap has made the issue even worse - I’m constantly pulling things out of the cabinet that are still covered in oil or grease or whatever. Anyone know of an ACTUAL greasy fighting green dish soap? Or - if you’ve resorted to Dawn any more sustainable ways to keep it? Do they sell it in bulk? Etc.? submitted by /u/KaleandSushi to r/moderatelygranolamoms [link] [comments]

I’ve given up and it’s beautiful.
I went to the store and, instead of grabbing the natural dish washing liquid that I've been buying every other day because it runs out so quickly, I grabbed the Dawn Platinum stuff that comes in the upside-down squeeze bottle. I could degrease an engine with this shit. (I'm still using the granola laundry detergent sheets, though.) Have you had any "I'm going to give up this specific granola thing" moments lately? ETA: Ended up buying a smaller bottle of natural dish soap and I'll just use it with the cups, lightly soiled stuff, and the baby's stuff. Hopefully it will last longer with the Dawn doing the heavy work. Truly moderately granola. submitted by /u/AskimbenimGT to r/moderatelygranolamoms [link] [comments]

Best dish soap that isn't Dawn?
I've been a diehard blue Dawn fan for years and have purchased it a million times. Unfortunately, the new fragrance is way too strong and no matter how much I rinse it seems the scent lingers especially on plastic or silicone. My daughters milk/water cups smell like detergent even when using a tiny bit. I spoke with Dawn customer service and they said that initially it was just a new scent in the US but it seems its also in Canada as well. I've been out of the dish soap game and have no idea what is an effective dish soap. I remember using Sunlight and being very unimpressed. For those who don't use dawn, what do you find the best? dish soap question
it seems most people on this sub are american although I'm in the UK. The common language is a problem at times though! can you explain what you mean by 'dish soap'? as used to flush out a new pen. do you mean a bar of hard soap that you might use to wash your hands, commonly kept by the wash baisin in a small dish. or do you mean the bottle of liquid soap used to wash plates etc in the kitchen? or liquid hand wash? or something else? submitted by /u/FederalAttitude9361 to r/fountainpens [link] [comments]

Spending money on quality dish soap is worth it if you’re hand washing dishes.
As someone who always had a dishwasher growing up, and had one until I recently moved out of North America— I must say, it is worth every penny to buy good dish soap if you’re hand washing dishes. I’ve tried several cheap brands, and none of them beat something like Dawn, Palmolive, etc. for hand washing dishes. Some of the cheap ones don’t even get sudsy let along cut grease! Just my $0.02. submitted by /u/buicklad to r/Frugal [link] [comments]
