How do I clean a polypropylene indoor rug?
Polypropylene rugs are usually used outdoors. Mine is indoors and under a lot of heavy furniture. Unfortunately, my housemate's dog has started peeing on it. It's not a real rug (like a carpet), so trying to use a carpet cleaning machine on it is pretty worthless. It's more like a woven thatch material. I'm not sure if power spraying it would work. It would be a hassle to remove all the furniture, and worse, it's the rainy season where I live. If power-spraying is the solution, I don't think it would dry before mildewing outside. Does anyone have any suggestions? Exact rug in comment if helpful. submitted by /u/Dragontastic22 to r/CleaningTips [link] [comments]

Looking for Advice: Indoor Carpet RC Racing with jumps + Outdoor Pavement with Traxxas slash - Good setup ?
Hey everyone, I’m interested in getting into indoor carpet RC racing with my 9-year-old this winter and then using the same truck outdoors on pavement during the summer. Before I pull the trigger on a purchase, I wanted to get some community feedback on my planned setup and whether it makes sense for what I want to do. What I’m Thinking: Right now I’m considering a Traxxas Slash Ultimate with a 2S LiPo setup and carpet-specific tires for indoor racing. I’m drawn to the Slash because: Durability — I want something rugged that can handle kids, jumps, and general beating. Versatility — I’d love to use the same vehicle both on indoor carpet tracks (with jumps) and outdoors on pavement in summer. Traxxas support — There’s a local hobby shop near me that stocks Traxxas parts, which is a big plus for maintenance and upgrades. My Questions: Is a Slash Ultimate with a 2S battery and carpet tires a decent, trackable setup for indoor carpet racing? I’ve seen heavier, bashy trucks struggle on finer indoor surfaces — I want to make sure this isn’t going to be a boat that just slides everywhere. Will this platform actually work well outdoors on pavement? I figure low, carpet/slick tires aren’t great on rougher surfaces — but I’m hoping I could swap tires and still run confidently without breaking stuff. Are there other Traxxas models or alternatives that might be better suited for dual indoor/outdoor use? I want to stick with Traxxas to take advantage of local parts support, but I’m open to suggestions if another platform makes more sense. Some Context: I’m mostly a complete beginner (my kid is loving RC play and I want something we can grow into). Indoor carpet racing seems like something we’d do maybe once or twice a week in winter; summer we’d run on smooth pavement and parking lots. Durability + ease of maintenance is a priority more than squeezing every ounce of lap time performance. If you’ve raced carpet before, or used a Slash in a similar way, I’d love your honest thoughts. Build suggestions, tire setups, gear ratios, shocks, body choices — any insight is appreciated. Thanks in advance! Edit: racing is at dollar hobbyz in Woodbury MN submitted by /u/ryz321 to r/rccars [link] [comments]

TIFU by accidentally stealing a cat, paying $400 in vet bills for it, and realizing it wasn’t mine when I got home
So this happened about 6 hours ago and I am currently staring at two identical black cats in my living room, trying to figure out how to explain this to my neighbors without sounding like a lunatic. For context, I have a black cat named "Luna." She is a "void" cat- no white patches, just pure darkness and yellow eyes. She is strictly an indoor cat because she has zero survival instincts and is afraid of wind. Tonight around 7 PM, I was taking the trash out and I guess the door didn't latch all the way. When I came back inside 20 minutes later to feed her, I couldn't find her. I did the usual "pspsps" and shook the treat bag. Nothing. I went into full panic mode. I grabbed a flashlight and ran outside. I spent 15 minutes checking the bushes until I saw a pair of yellow eyes reflecting from under my neighbor's porch. I crawled under there, grabbed the cat (who was surprisingly docile but shivering), and dragged her out. I noticed immediately that she was limping and had a weird gash on her ear. I assumed she got into a fight with a raccoon or something. I didn't even go back inside. I put her straight into the car and sped to the 24-hour emergency vet. I was crying the whole way, telling her I was so sorry I let her out. The vet took her back, cleaned the wound, gave her some antibiotics and pain meds, and did a quick check-up. The bill came out to $430. I slapped my credit card down, glad that my baby was safe. We got home about an hour ago. I carried the carrier into the living room, set it down, and opened the door to let her out gently. As the injured cat stepped out... MY cat, the real Luna, walked out from behind the sofa, yawned, and hissed at the intruder. I froze. I looked at the cat I just spent $400 on. It’s a male. I don't own a male cat. I have accidentally kidnapped a stray (or worse, a neighbor's outdoor cat), paid for his medical care, and brought him into my house. So now I have my cat, who is pissed off, and this imposter cat, who is high on painkillers and currently sleeping on my expensive rug. I have to go knock on doors tomorrow and ask if anyone is missing a black cat, and also explain why he is now shaved on one leg and smells like antiseptic. TL;DR: Thought my indoor cat escaped, found a look-alike outside who was injured. Rushed it to the emergency vet and paid $400 to fix it up, only to bring it home and find my actual cat sleeping behind the couch. I am now the accidental owner of a second, very expensive cat. EDIT: Why is everyone saying this is a bot/fake?? I wish I was a bot, then I wouldn't be out $400. To the people asking: No, I haven't found the owner yet, I posted on the neighborhood Nextdoor app. And yes, I'm keeping him if nobody claims him because I've literally already paid for his healthcare. He's currently sleeping in the bathroom so Luna doesn't murder him. EDIT: HOLLYY F**K!!, this post actually blew up. I will try to reply as much as possible today lol. submitted by /u/Kooky_Rough_2228 to r/tifu [link] [comments]

My bf (28m) wants my (24f) cat to go from indoor/outdoor to only outdoor
I really need some advice cause I am really upset. Me and my bf have been together for almost 4 years and we recently bought a house last year. After years of begging him to take in a cat we finally did this year. We got our cat at two months and shes been living with us since April. She likes to go outside once a day and come back in for the night. She is spayed and vaxxed. Shes been with us for 6 months, and my boyfriend drops that he doesnt want the cat inside anymore because he doesn't like the smell of litter (even tho i clean it all the time), the hair everywhere, and the recent flea problem in our carpet we had (i havent had a chance to fix this cause this just happened yesterday and i am currently out of town). He said he would build a big outside cat hotel for my cat with insulation and everything. I am not for it at all, i want her inside. Of course i tell him this and he said he has been unhappy with the cat inside for a couple of months now. I tell him i worry for other cats outside, the big racoons that come by sometimes, she could be potentially run over by a car, and the upcoming cold weather (we live in a state that snows). He said shes a cat she will learn how to live outside. He said there was no changing his mind. What should I do? Edit: Ok I didnt think this was going to blow up the way it did. Im here with a late update cause yall i was out of town and the situation was already upsetting to me so I didnt want to deal with this when there was nothing i could do while i was out of town. A few things My boyfriend has never abused our cat. He is not an evil person he was just frustrated with the situation which is understandable due to the fleas. Fleas are not fun obviously and I didn't do my best to prevent them. My cat is not from a shelter, we got her from someone who had a litter. We will not be bringing her to any shelter. We also live in a suburban area so we have no woods here. But we do live on a somewhat busy road. We let our cat outside cause guys she likes going outside, she will meow so we can let her out, but she stays in our backyard that is surrounded by a private fence of 8 ft, she has never left because there is no way out unless we open the gate. Its my bad that i didnt prevent the fleas. I listened to the comments that gave me advice (not the breakup ones) and i ordered strong flea treatment for my cat, flea raid, enzyme deodorizer, and a air purifier. Yesterday when i got back from my trip I Immediately sanitized anywhere my cat has been, and deshed the two rugs we have and the carpet in our gaming room. I also bought a chomp chomp and im so mad at myself for not getting it earlier cause its amazing. Im still learning how to take care of my cat obviously but now i know what to do next and how to fix the problems. I haven't let her outside so i can prevent anymore fleas from coming in. I still need to give her a bath and had no time Yesterday but will be doing that once i come home from work. It was better for my boyfriend and i to have this conversation in person rather than thru text and when i was so busy. Im not the best at text arguments but my boyfriend understood that i would be really upset if we made our cat only outdoors. So when i came home we had the conversation. I told him the cons of having our cat outside and that i will do better to make sure the house doesn't feel like a cat is inside. Like i would vacuum more and make sure no fleas are inside. I want us both to be happy in our house. He said as long as im doing my part to make sure it doesnt happen again, then we can keep our cat inside. Thats the update yall, i think the way he went about it was wrong (like telling me his feelings right before my trip like i was literally walking out the door) but on my part i should've done better as a girlfriend and as a cat parent to make sure these problems didnt come up in the first place cause that was what i promised when we first took in our cat. My boyfriend is my best friend and i am also his, so I knew there was something we could work out where we could both come out happy. I was just so frustrated yall lmao. Im typing all this on my comfy couch with my fur baby in my lap. Thanks to those who gave me advice, and trust when i say i dont let anyone walk over me when it comes to big decisions like these. 01/02/2026 Update cause idk if anyone is here anymore but Im moving out WITH THE CAT LMAOOOOOO submitted by /u/No_Impress_9192 to r/CatAdvice [link] [comments]

They can transform any outdoor space, from patios and decks too gardens and poolside areas,by adding a touch of style and comfort. With a wide range of materials, designs, and sizes available, choosing teh right circular outdoor rug can substantially enhance your outdoor living experience. This guide will provide you with the top circular outdoor rugs for 2025, along with detailed reviews to help you make an informed decision. [Explore Top Rated circular outdoor rug on Amazon.] Key Features Analysis the selection of a quality circular outdoor rug involves several critically important factors. These include the material composition, UV resistance, water resistance, durability, ease of cleaning, and overall design. Understanding these features will help you choose a rug that meets your specific needs and preferences. Material Composition: The material of an outdoor rug dictates its durability, comfort, and resistance to weather elements. Options range from synthetic fibers like polypropylene and polyester to natural fibers such as jute and bamboo. Synthetic materials are typically more resistant to mold, mildew, and fading, while natural fibers offer a more organic look and feel.Polypropylene, a commonly used synthetic, is known for its remarkable water resistance and ability to withstand heavy foot traffic.UV Resistance: One of the most critical features for an outdoor rug is its ability to withstand prolonged exposure to sunlight. UV rays can cause colors to fade and materials to degrade over time.High-quality outdoor rugs are often treated with UV inhibitors to protect against fading and maintain their appearance for years. Ideally, look for rugs labeled as UV-resistant or designed specifically for outdoor use. Water Resistance: Outdoor rugs must be capable of handling exposure to rain, splashes, and humidity. Water-resistant materials like polypropylene and polyester will not absorb moisture, preventing mold and mildew growth. Natural fibers, on the other hand, tend to absorb water and may require more frequent cleaning and maintenance. Some rugs are also designed with drainage holes to allow water to escape quickly. Durability: The durability of an outdoor rug is essential for withstanding heavy foot traffic, outdoor furniture, and general wear and tear. Rugs made from tightly woven synthetic fibers or sturdy natural fibers like sisal tend to be more durable. Consider the thickness and construction of the rug when assessing its durability.Thicker rugs generally offer more cushioning and can better withstand pressure from furniture. Ease of Cleaning: Outdoor rugs are inevitably exposed to dirt, debris, and spills. Easy cleaning is a must-have feature. many synthetic rugs can be simply hosed down and left to dry. others may be machine-washable or require spot cleaning with mild detergent. Natural fiber rugs typically require more careful cleaning to avoid damage. Overall Design: Circular outdoor rugs come in a wide array of designs, patterns, and colors to complement any outdoor décor. From bold geometric prints to subtle textures and neutral tones, there's a rug to suit every taste. Consider the existing color palette and style of your outdoor space when choosing a design. A well-chosen rug can tie together different elements and create a cohesive and inviting atmosphere. [explore Top Rated circular outdoor rug on Amazon.] Core Benefits The benefits of investing in a quality circular outdoor rug extend beyond aesthetics. A well-chosen rug can provide comfort, enhance safety, and protect your outdoor surfaces. Here are some core benefits to consider. Enhanced Comfort: An outdoor rug creates a softer and more pleasant surface underfoot compared to hard surfaces like concrete or wood. This can make your outdoor space more inviting and enjoyable for lounging, dining, or entertaining. The added cushioning can also help reduce fatigue for those who spend extended periods outdoors. Improved Safety: Outdoor rugs can enhance safety by providing extra traction, especially in areas prone to moisture or slippery conditions. This is notably important around pools, decks, and other wet surfaces. A non-slip backing can further improve safety by preventing the rug from sliding or shifting. Surface Protection: By placing a rug under outdoor furniture or high-traffic areas, you can protect your patio, deck, or other outdoor surfaces from scratches, stains, and wear and tear. This can help extend the life of your outdoor surfaces and reduce the need for costly repairs or replacements. Rugs also act as a barrier against dirt and debris, making it easier to keep your outdoor space clean. Aesthetic Appeal: The right circular outdoor rug can dramatically enhance the aesthetic appeal of your outdoor space. It can add color, texture, and personality, transforming a bland patio into a stylish and inviting oasis. A well-chosen rug can also tie together different elements of your outdoor décor, creating a cohesive and visually appealing look. Noise Reduction: Outdoor rugs can help reduce noise levels by absorbing sound vibrations. This is particularly beneficial for apartments, balconies, or patios where noise can be a concern. The added layer of cushioning can help dampen footsteps and other sounds, creating a quieter and more relaxing environment. [Explore Top Rated circular outdoor rug on Amazon.] FAQs Section Here are some frequently asked questions about circular outdoor rugs to help you make an informed decision. What size circular outdoor rug should I choose? The ideal size of a circular outdoor rug depends on the size of your outdoor space and the furniture you plan to place on or around it.For seating areas, choose a rug that is large enough to accommodate all the furniture legs. For dining areas, ensure the rug is large enough to extend beyond the chairs when they are pulled out. How do I clean a circular outdoor rug? The cleaning method depends on the rug's material. Most synthetic rugs can be hosed down with water and mild soap, while others are machine-washable. Natural fiber rugs may require spot cleaning or professional cleaning. Always check the manufacturer's instructions for specific cleaning recommendations. Can I leave my circular outdoor rug outside during the winter? It depends on the rug's material and the severity of the winter weather. Synthetic rugs are generally more resistant to moisture and can withstand freezing temperatures. However, prolonged exposure to snow and ice can still cause damage. It's best to store your rug indoors during the winter months to prolong its lifespan. Are circular outdoor rugs pet-friendly? Yes, many circular outdoor rugs are pet-friendly. Look for rugs made from durable, stain-resistant materials that are easy to clean. Synthetic rugs are generally a better choice for pet owners as they are less likely to absorb odors and stains. Consider a rug with a low pile height to prevent your pet's nails from snagging. [Explore Top Rated circular outdoor rug on Amazon.] Competitor Comparison Here’s a comparison of three popular circular outdoor rugs available on the market. product Comparison Overview Circular Outdoor Rug A Material: Polypropylene UV Resistance: High Water Resistance: Excellent Circular Outdoor Rug B Material: Jute UV resistance: Moderate Water Resistance: Low Circular Outdoor Rug C Material: Recycled plastic Bottles (PET) UV Resistance: High Water Resistance: Excellent Key Differences Summary Circular Outdoor Rug A is a budget-friendly option made from polypropylene, offering excellent water and UV resistance. Would love to hear some ideas! Temporarily stick indoor/outdoor rug to vinyl floor
Here's a question. We have an old lady ferret needs to have grip so she can walk around without falling. We got indoor/outdoor area rugs from Lowe's "Project Source 6 x 8 (ft) Needle punch Polyester Charcoal Rectangular Indoor/Outdoor Solid Area rug" We want to somehow keep them in place, as we have another ferret who likes to get under towels and things and wad them up. We got Polyester so if (when) one of them goes to the bathroom on it we can wash it in our washing machine. The plan is to cut the rugs into small enough pieces that they will fit. Also, it's a new house, so we don't want to ruin the vinyl flooring by gluing it down. Realistically, unfortunately, she probably only has a few months left, but we want her to be comfortable. She panics when she has to go to the bathroom, and she slips and falls on her way to the puppy pad, causing her to go before she can get there, and we have to clean her up Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. It's okay if it doesn't look great, as I said.. it's probably not going to be more than 2 or 3 months. submitted by /u/crackercrows to r/Flooring [link] [comments]

Best Indoor Outdoor Cable Ramp Protector One Channel [2025]
[Check Latest Arrivals indoor outdoor cable ramp protector one channel on Amazon.] Best Indoor Outdoor Cable Ramp Protector One Channel [2025] The need to safeguard cables and prevent tripping hazards exists in various environments, both indoor and outdoor. Cable ramp protectors offer a practical and efficient solution for managing cables and ensuring pedestrian safety. This review will analyze the features, benefits, and competitive standing of a leading one-channel indoor-outdoor cable ramp protector, offering valuable insights to potential buyers in 2025. [Explore Top rated indoor outdoor cable ramp protector one channel on amazon.] Key features Analysis The cable ramp protector boasts several features designed for durability, safety, and ease of use. Material Composition: Constructed from heavy-duty, industrial-grade thermoplastic rubber (TPR) or polyurethane (PU), the ramp provides extraordinary resistance to wear and tear, even under heavy foot and vehicular traffic. This selection ensures long-lasting performance and reliability in diverse conditions. The selected material is also oil and chemical resistant, further enhancing its durability in industrial setups. Load Capacity: With a substantial load capacity of up to 20,000 lbs per axle, the ramp is engineered to handle a wide range of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and forklifts. This resilience makes it suitable for both pedestrian walkways and light vehicular areas. The high load capacity guarantees that the ramp won't crack or deform under common operational stress. Channel Dimensions: The single channel measures 1.25 inches in width and 0.75 inches in height, accommodating standard-sized power cables, network cables, and hoses. These dimensions provide sufficient room for effective cable management. Precisely controlled channel dimensions ensure that cables do not become pinched or damaged during use. Surface Texture and Grip: The ramp features a textured, anti-slip surface pattern that provides superior traction, even in wet or oily conditions. This minimizes the risk of slips and falls for both pedestrians and vehicles. The surface texture is carefully designed to balance grip and ease of cleaning. Interlocking Design: Multiple ramp sections can be easily connected using an interlocking system, allowing users to create longer ramps to suit their specific needs. The interlocking mechanism provides a secure and seamless connection between sections. This modular design allows for easy customization and expansion based on the application. Integrated Safety Features: Bright yellow safety stripes are molded into the ramp’s exterior to enhance visibility, particularly in low-light conditions. These stripes alert pedestrians and drivers to the presence of the ramp, further minimizing the risk of accidents. The stripes are designed to be highly reflective and resistant to fading over time. [Explore Top rated indoor outdoor cable ramp protector one channel on Amazon.] Core Benefits The cable ramp protector delivers significant benefits, improving safety, association, and operational efficiency. Enhanced Safety: Preventing tripping hazards is paramount, and this ramp achieves this by securely enclosing cables and hoses. By eliminating loose cables stretched across walkways, the risk of accidents caused by tripping is substantially reduced. This enhances safety for employees, visitors, and the general public. Cable Protection: The enclosed channel safeguards cables and hoses from damage caused by foot traffic, vehicle traffic, and environmental factors. This protection extends the lifespan of these essential components, reducing the need for frequent replacements and saving on maintenance costs. The durable material withstands compression, abrasion, and impact. Improved organization: The ramp helps to organize and manage cables, creating a cleaner and more professional habitat. By concealing cables, clutter is minimized, and the overall appearance of the workspace or event space is improved. This organized approach also facilitates easier cable identification and maintenance. Ease of Installation and Relocation: The lightweight and modular design allow for rapid and easy installation and relocation. Individual sections can be easily carried and assembled without the need for specialized tools or equipment. This flexibility makes it ideal for temporary or rapidly changing environments. Cost-Effectiveness: By reducing tripping hazards and protecting cables, the ramp can definitely help to minimize liabilities and prevent costly repairs. The long-lasting material reduces the frequency of replacement, making it a cost-effective investment in the long run. The rampS robust construction ensures a longer lifespan compared to cheaper alternatives. [Explore Top Rated indoor outdoor cable ramp protector one channel on Amazon.] FAQs Section is the cable ramp protector suitable for outdoor use in all weather conditions? It is indeed also resistant to UV degradation, ensuring that it won't become brittle or faded over time. However, extremely harsh chemical exposure should be avoided. how easy is it to clean the cable ramp protector? The ramp can be easily cleaned with a hose and mild detergent. Its non-porous surface resists dirt and grime, making it quick and simple to maintain a clean and safe environment. Pressure washing is generally discouraged unless performed at a safe distance to avoid material damage. Can I connect multiple ramps to create a longer run? yes, the interlocking design allows you to connect multiple sections to achieve your desired length. The interlocking mechanism ensures a secure and seamless connection, preventing gaps or uneven surfaces. Make sure to properly align & secure the ramps. What is the average lifespan of the cable ramp protector? The expected lifespan varies depending on the usage intensity and environment. Competitor A provides a cheaper choice with reduced load capacity and less robust material, compromising on long-term durability. competitor B offers a premium option with slightly higher load capacity and larger channel dimensions but comes at a higher price point. For users requiring extremely heavy-duty performance or accommodating larger cables, Competitor B may be preferable. Generally, the leading cable ramp is a good balance of performance and price. Experience with Ernesta indoor/outdoor (polypropylene) rugs?
I received some swatches from Ernesta for their indoor/outdoor rugs. They are very attractive and substantial with a nicely serged edge. However, they are pricey (2-3x a typical outdoor rug). I'm willing to pay for quality if they will last and wear well. Does anyone have experience with their indoor/outdoor rugs in particular? Would love some feedback. TIA! https://preview.redd.it/2pqbxw0alp8f1.jpg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=55597fac6cacb8e37e852dab1726953b7b286af8 submitted by /u/Vir-gal to r/interiordecorating [link] [comments]

Shammas vs Bedrock vs Lumas: Everyday indoor/outdoor sandals?
I'm a pregnant stay-at-home mom in need of alternative sandals to my Earthrunners. I love my Earthrunners, but the sole has worn down to where it is now too smooth for me to wear inside without slipping, and I also could use just another pair of everyday sandals anyway. I will generally be indoors on smooth surfaces, or outdoors on a variety of terrain: parks, playgrounds, beaches, grass, etc. I'd like something that can get wet. Something I can throw on regardless of the activities for the day. I am probably on my feet for about 8-10 hours a day, and barefoot shoes and sandals seem to really help alleviate my back/hip pain. I was going to get some Xeros, but I kept hearing that they were slippery: either the sole, or the insole (my feet sweat!). I hear great things about Shammas, Bedrocks and Lumas: but mostly about how rugged they are outdoors. Does anyone have any experiences to share on wearing these sandals inside? How do they handle the occasional slick spot on the floor from a mysterious child-produced puddle? The main reason I must wear something is because I haaaaate the feeling of squishy crumbs on my feet that the children seem to produce regardless of how often I sweep, lol Thank you! submitted by /u/Happycorndog to r/barefootshoestalk [link] [comments]

AITA for kicking out my partner's dad (and family) from my daughter's birthday party
I kicked them out because they refused to take off their shoes as it's a celebration at our house. For backstory, it was my daughter's first birthday. My partner is white and I am asian. It has been the norm in our household to keep shoes off when we're at home and we also wear indoor footwear/slippers. I have always kept spa slippers for guests in variety of sizes in case some are not comfortable in going barefoot. I have always kept my house clean and have always maintained outdoor shoes/footwear off when inside our house. Not only does it makes cleaning floors easy, the thought of carrying germs inside is gross and scary to me. It's also a cultural norm for us as well to keep shoes off as a sign of respect to the owners of the house. Now my daughter's birthday has come. The first few guests have arrived and has taken cue that shoes should be off and I've offered spa slippers and some were happy to wear them and some just went barefoot inside. Now my partner's dad and his fiance arrived along with their children (His parents are divorced). And they went straight in with their filthy shoes on. Like really gross looking shoes, that were not clean looking and you can see the dirt sticking to my tiles. I told my partner to tell them to take off shoes please because the other guests were happy to comply and thought they would do the same. Well they didn't do that and just kept walking around inside with the shoes on and stepping on the rugs and mats with it. I politely asked again, but his dad grunted and said "our shoes are clean, we always wash them weekly" I pointed out the dirt on the floor and he said it's the dirt from when they walk on our front yard so it"s mainly part of our house. I explained again that kids and most especially his grandchild crawls around our floor and since it's her birthday to just take their shoes off the mat where she crawls. This time he seems offended and started with why I am making such a big deal out of wearing shoes inside when it's a party anyway and I'm ruining such an important day because I could not bend a little rule for one day. And it's white people culture to not take their shoes off anyway. That's when I lost it and said they can get out of my house if they can't do a simple request. And they left and my partner said I should've just let it go since they travelled quite far to come for our daughter's birthday and I'm an asshole for not being considerate for only one day. So AITA? Wow this got so much attention and I'm showing this to my partner! Posted this on comments: Before having our baby, when they used to visit they know we have a shoes off rule at our old apartment. My partner has always pointed this out to them but I would not make a fuss because they only see us on occasion - like maybe once/twice a year. This time though, we moved to a bigger house and I have a one year old that crawls around and it's mainly because there are other babies and kids too especially in the play area. I was adjusting to the thought that they can wear shoes then on other areas of the house except on her playmat (it's a very large foamy/soft playmat that covers most of the room) but they didn't want to follow on that either. Even their children hasn't taken off their shoes when they started to hung out with the other kids to play and that's where the blow-up happened. He wanted to hand my daughter their gift in the playroom when we also have a designated area to put the gifts. And people commenting about the slippers: they are those disposable spa slippers(bought off at amazon like $10 for 20pcs) that I threw out once used except for my usual guests which are my close friends who now has their own slippers marked in my house. submitted by /u/Rreirarei to r/AmItheAsshole [link] [comments]

This is Chai. She is 10, and we just adopted her. She was an outdoor cat, but because of Coyotes, she is an indoor cat. We dry our rugs outside, and this is what she does when we bring them in. she misses outdoors.

LPT: Reverse image search before purchasing from Wayfair
When shopping online, many people know to Google the product name to see if they can find the same exact product cheaper from another store. Wayfair & their brands (Joss & Main, AllModern, & Birch Lane) rename all their products/vendors & give them bogus names so it's harder to do this & make it seem like the product is exclusive to them when it's not. Reverse image search to find the real product name and manufacturer name & then you can much more easily find it somewhere else - often for cheaper. Let's take a lamp for example: "Mailiah 29" Table Lamp" by "Highland Dunes" on Wayfair ($127.99) But when you reverse image search you'll see it's really called: "Ollie 29" Table Lamp" by "Catalina Lighting" Now that you know the real name, you can easily see it's sold at Walmart ($105.59), Overstock ($105.59), Kohl's ($203.99), & Amazon ($105.59). And it's $22.40 cheaper on Amazon, Walmart & Overstock Edit 1: Here are a few methods to reverse image search. I'm sure there are more. Desktop: Right-click an image & select "Search Google for this image" (maybe this only words in certain browsers, not entirely sure) Or you can use images.google.com & click the camera icon to upload a pic or paste the URL of the image Mobile: Use Chrome and hold down on an image & select "Search Google for This Image" Use the Google app & open Google Lens Use tineye.com Edit 2: Added the current prices for that lamp since prices will change in the future. Also a couple more notes: Some commenters let me know this practice is called "white labeling." I'm assuming it's legal because the suppliers agree for Wayfair to do it when they agree to sell on Wayfair. This doesn't always work; sometimes Wayfair has it cheapest. So you can also try this tip the opposite way if you're about to buy something at Target/Home Depot/Macy's/etc, you can reverse image search to see if Wayfair has it cheaper under a fake name. Wayfair creates their own photos/renderings sometimes, so you may need to try a few photos. Since Wayfair, Joss & Main, AllModern, & Birch Lane are all owned by the same company, they often offer the same product on multiple sites with different prices. Sometimes the names are the same, sometimes different. So be sure to check their other sites too before purchasing. For example, this 5' x 8' rug is on all four sister sites: Wayfair: Handmad Braided Gray Indoor / Outdoor Area Rug by Wade Logan - $143.99 Joss & Main: Handmade Braided Gray Indoor / Outdoor Area Rug - $158.39 Birch Lane: Handmade Braided Gray Indoor / Outdoor Area Rug - $144 AllModern: Walmsley Gray Area Rug - $150 So you may think you're getting the best deal at Wayfair, but reverse image search helps you find that it's really called the "Lefebvre" rug made by a company called "nuLOOM" & you can easily find out it's sold at Home Depot, Target, Kohl's, Lowe's, JCPenney, Macy's, & Bed Bath & Beyond for anywhere from $111.92 (Home Depot) to $367.20 (Macy's) - in which case you'd obviously go with Home Depot. submitted by /u/refusestopoop to r/LifeProTips [link] [comments]
