Hello everyone, I need help as I am torn if I should buy na already or keep with my trusty iphone 11. For context, walang issue yung current phone ko and I still get compliments on my pic qualities and I even use it for content BUT it is two years old now and I feel like the 16 is the wisest and most cost efficient upgrade for me. I am also the kind of person who does not replace stuff unless hindi na talaga magamit or hassle na sa productivity gamitin. Also won't be buying an android phone kasi all my gadgets are apple (yes huhu apple ecosystem love hate relationship) and mahihirapan ako mag integrate ng android if ever. I’m thinking about upgrading after having my 13 crack recently. I’ve seen many people going completely against the 16 in favour of the iPhone 17. As much as I can see the 17 being a better phone, it costs €940 on amazon. Whereas the iPhone 16 is on sale for €710. During a flight a few weeks ago, I noticed that my iPhone 16 Pro max had begun to swell(?) to the point that the left part of the back glass was separated from the body by like a quarter centimeter. I had no idea what the issue was, but once we landed it was back to normal. I’ve since taken one more flight and had no issues. It seems to be fine, it doesn’t get hot or anything. I thought it might be something with the elevation/air pressure but it hasn’t happened on subsequent flights and I can’t find anything online about it. However, it’s worth asking yourself: What are my actual needs? If your budget allows and the new features of the 17 appeal to you, then by all means, enjoy the upgrade. But if not, know that the 16 series is still a powerful, capable, and high-performing line of phones. As author Matt Haig insightfully put it: “How do you get them to buy a new smartphone? By making them feel like they are being left behind. To be calm becomes a kind of revolutionary act. To be happy with your own non-upgraded existence… would not be good for business.” So rather than feeling you’ve missed out, take comfort in knowing that your current device is still top-tier. So my 20-year-old sister broke her phone. She’s been using Samsung and she begged me to get her a new one I agreed. but since most people her age use iPhones I thought I could do a lil upgrade for her (I thought I was doing her a favour) So I told her I would get her the 13 series But then she straight up tells me that her best friend is using a 16 and if I wasn’t going to buy her a 16 I shouldn’t bother. Can’t believe Apple is still keeping the 60Hz display on the regular iPhone 16 lineup. I get that the high refresh rate is called “ProMotion” and so can’t be on a non-pro phone. But c’mon Apple, could’ve easily put a 90Hz refresh rate screen on that.
