My fiancé and I bought and moved into our forever home a couple of months ago, and I’ve been working on combining our stuff and styles. Still things to do and add in the master bedroom, like swapping out the white wall plates for black, and adding a long wood shelf to the wall above the headboard for some plants and art. I’ve always loved history, historic homes, architecture, art, and design. So getting to live in such an incredible home and make it personal and beautiful is one of my lifelong dreams. I’m really happy with how it’s coming together. The bed and nightstands are from Thuma, he had it in his previous place. It’s a great bed, but we might replace it with something a little less MCM in the future. The brass lamps came from somewhere like Home Goods, and they each have two lightbulbs with separate switches…which means that at night I can switch on the red lights. The carved wood piece by the mirror is a monk’s bench from about 1849, and is a Jacobean revival. I got an incredible deal on it. Fireplace dresser and rug are from Amazon. Agate lamp from the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show. The jersey duvet cover is from West Elm, the Tiger pillow is from a local boutique, the patterned quilt came from Target, I think. Wallpaper is The Gardens of Jaipur from Mind the Gap. The whole thing is basically an elaborate cover/holder for an already existing switch mechanism from a normal (EU) light switch. So I hope this isn't a fire hazard lol. I recently built this shelf/desk workspace, which in itself was a redneck engineering activity. When I brought it in the room I realized it blocked the closet light switch. This is in our bedroom and I wanted my wife to be able to see without having to move the table every time. So i crafted this little device from a scrap piece of plywood and a piece of aluminum I had left over from covering my exhaust leak on my truck (another redneck engineering). I was out of town for a week and left the air conditioning running while I was gone. When I got home, I noticed that multiple plastic outlet covers and light switch plates around the house had warped or pulled away from the wall. This seems to have happened all at once, and in different rooms—not just in one area. There haven’t been any leaks or obvious HVAC problems, and I didn’t lose power while I was gone (as far as I know). Has anyone seen something like this before? Could this be a sign of electrical issues, moisture, or something else? I’m not sure where to start with troubleshooting. I (17F) work at a chain bakery popular in my city. I work the closing shift after school most nights with me and my other coworker who we will call Dan (30something). I’m going to be frank, i do not like Dan, he is mean and condescending, constantly making fun of my looks, my manor of speech (english isn’t my first language) and my age. I get annoyed by this incredibly quickly and working with him overall is very difficult especially because he will consistently slack off during rush hours, and will consistently make orders wrong constantly and then make me fix them and deal with the customers. I haven’t said anything to my manager yet because i don’t wanna make any trouble because i’m the youngest person that works their and i don’t think anyone would take my seriously. But yesterday was the last straw. i didn’t have school yesterday so i decided i would take an opening shift, and to my surprise fan was also there. I had closed up by myself their the day before and when i got there Dan asked if he could show me something. He took my into the kit hen area and started demonstrating how to currently was your hands like how you would explain to a five year old. I asked why he was showing me this and then he said it was because last night i had left my period blood on the light switch and when he came in today he saw it and thought it was disgusting. So i asked him where the is supposed period blood was and he showed it to me, he said he hadn’t wiped it because he said it was gross. It was fucking jam. It was the bright pink strawberry jam we use to fill donuts, and this idiot thought it was period blood. I told him i was clocking out and that he could find someone else to cover my shift or do the morning rush alone. I was so done with him. He said that wasn’t fair and i said tough shit. So aita? update: sorry it’s been awhile i forgot about this!!! I reported dan to the franchises HR rep, but he didn’t end up getting fired for that, he ended up getting fired for smoking weed on the job :0.
