There should be a home department that includes candles, sets of glasses, mugs, bed sheet sets, pillows, lamps, etc. It could be neat. Also suggestions really should go here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/3819640/discussions/0/737036097948905061/

RE:Kyle Pallo #169 This Is NOT Clickbait
I have a question, we know at the postage stamp they sleep in different rooms but does the new build only have a master? Who will get it (Rhetorical I know)? Will the two high five twins share a bed finally or will they each have their own room like roommates? If sharing the master they best budget in a bunch of pillows for the pillow wall. No sex before marriage and all….

AITA for refusing to drive my boyfriend to the ER for nonesense?
My 30f bf (35m) has been sick with a virus for the last 5 days and we went to the ER a friday becasue his headache was unbearable. We got in an arguement earlier becasue he wants to go again for the drug they gave him for his headache and I really don't see the point. A month ago I had intestinal bleeding I went to the ER with and he didn't even leave work to check on me. He offered to come, I said it's ok. Drove myself there like a big girl, dealt with it and got home. And last 5 days I have been nothing but accomodating while I have started a new job. We were at er friday from 6pm to 2 am, he was such a baby, complaining that no one was moving fast enough, etc. I had packed him a blanket, noise cancelling headphones, eye mask, he had ice packs, i wheeled him around I honestly thought it was excessive. Sure I can imagine feeling dehydrated which he got intravenous treatment for, and they ave him a temprorary solution for a headache which was a drug they told me they give to muh older people becasue it's stronger than morphine. Kept his family updated becasue they were checking up on him. His results came back fine, CT scan fine, blood fine, result - Virus. I have work tomorrow and its my second week at a new job. He wants to go, I said no problem, let me ask his sister becasue she was offering, and understands that I just started a new job and wants me to also get rest. She doesnt mind. He's like, no just drive me. Why? I firmly without yelling: It's a Virus give it time. If you want to go, then your sister can take you. He got annoyed and now wants to go on his own. Go on then. 2 times in ER for a flu, whatever. There are obvious improvements, hes keeping food and water down and has been getting sleep. Only reason he wants to go again is to get that drug that gave him temprorary relief from a headache which i feel is excessive. In all honesty, I don't mind mild tantrums, I don't mind changing ice packs every hour, I dont mind helping him get things around that he feels he needs. What was most annoying are 2 things: at ER he was expecting everyone to adhere to his smallest ailments, waa need ice pack, i want a bed, I want a warmer blanket, waa get me another pillow waa where is the doctor. why cant they offer me medicine? and like to a child I had to explain that there are others that have way more serious conditions than a fucking flu. Second, where was my princess treatment when I was at ER a month ago with bleeding? Not even a visit. No one except him even knew I was there and dealt with it, got my refferal, drove my bleeding ass home, slept and went to work the next day. AITA for not taking him to the ER for the second time? submitted by /u/pickledphilosopher to r/AmItheAsshole [link] [comments]

AITA if I back out of being maid of honor at my best friends wedding next weekend? Best man is my ex fiancé who cheated on me and I can't be around him let alone walk arm in arm with him
I am not The OOP, OOP is u/Liotheleon AITA if I back out of being maid of honor at my best friends wedding next weekend? Best man is my ex fiancé who cheated on me and I can't be around him let alone walk arm in arm with him. Boru 1 Posted by u/SomaliMN **Originally posted to r/AmItheAsshole & r/ Original Post May 4, 2019 Jump into the worst week of my life. I was with my ex fiancé for 6 years. Loved him with every fiber of my being, wedding planned for August. Refused a job offer so could move with him for his next Air Force assignment. Monday a call girl from a website called massage republic texts him in the middle of the night saying she's reaching out to old clients because she's back in the game (his phone was at my house while he was flying) I text back she must have wrong number. She says she doesn't. In a moment of brains I pretend to be him instead of the jealous girlfriend and call girl gives me all the details. I'm such a fool this had been happening under my nose for years. I confront him, he claims to be a sex addict and promises to change. I consider it for half a second and say no. Cue uncontrollable crying, self doubt, a battery of STD tests, awkward encounters with him, fight over the ring, his mom (who I loved) calling me non stop and begging me to reconsider and on and on. And on top of all this my best friend is marrying his best friend may 11th. Groom doesn't want to rock the boat at this late date and selecting a new best man. Bride says she has way too much in her plate and is begging me to just go through with it and she'll "make it up to me." I've never hated a human being as much as I hate him. I can't be in the same room with him let alone walk arm in arm with him. I understand the whole wedding doesn't need to fall apart because I'm upset. so I just want to not go and spend the day downing the left over percocets from my wisdom teeth operation, fucking as many tinder dudes who can stand to be around me after not showering and burning all his shit. Woukd I be the asshole if I back out of the wedding? Edit: wow I checked out for a few hours to try and sleep and this exploded. I’m so sorry I haven’t been reading I’ll try and catch up Edit 2: ok guys I don't know what the verdict is but whether or not you voted yta or NTA and said I should go anyways to support my friend (we were friends before we were born, our moms were college roommates) your argument were the most convincing. I'm going to suck it up, participate, have fun, make my lock screen image the text from "Panama" where she said "remember, you liked tounging my asshole?" so when I get sad I have an instant reminder of who he really is. And then when it's all over I'm going to scream myself hoarse and beat the ever living fuck out of my pillows. If I can update a week from now I will. I still have a lot of reading to do so thank you all for commenting. VERDICT: NOT THE ASSHOLE Edit 3 (that wont be seen): guys I've had the worst week of my life and been crying almost non stop since 3AM last Monday (or Tuesday, or whatever). I have to clear up people calling my best friend the asshole. That just isn't the case, at all. I love her as much as I love any person on the planet and she has my back. But this wedding is now a week away. It's not a simple thing of kicked me out or asking ex-fiancé not to come. Everyone is furious with him but only she, me and he know the details of call girls. My ex's parents, grandparents and everyone else are going to be at the wedding. He's as close with the groom as I am with her. If they make big changes now then the day becomes about what HE did, not about the wedding. It's not my place to demand the groom change his best man... a week out no less...plus like I said he knows my ex cheated, he doesn't know my ex was sleeping with prostitutes. If I bring that up then this whole week becomes about THAT. My best friend and her groom being assholes isn't even an option on the table. They didn't do anything wrong and just reacting with the best information they have. My friend has offered me the chance to allow me and ex-fiancé to walk in with other people or even separately, but I'm not going to do that. First of all because I think it will look weird. And secondly I foresee getting a sick since of satisfaction of touching him ONE LAST TIME--FOREVER and have him know that that spark he feels...could have been forever come August but he fucked it up. Is it possible for a cheater to change? I (27f) found out my ex-fiancé (28m) had been seeing call girls for about a year. I'm devastated but he is literally broken after I found out. I am finding myself sympathetic to him. May 6, 2019 (2 days later) So this is almost an indescribable situation because if you would have asked me last Sunday, I would have told you I had a perfect relationship. Monday night he was flying (he's a pilot in the Air Force) and had left his phone at my house. in the middle of the night it buzzed and it was a call girl named "Panama" who had quit for a while and was reaching out to old clients because she needed money. I logged into his phone (we share passwords on almost everything) and at first told her she had a wrong number but far too much of what she said was identifiable to him. I confronted him when he got home and he didn't try to deny it at all. He confessed that he had seen 2 separate call girls for about a year, sometime at the same time. He claims he's a sex addict and has been in treatment for about a year. I knew he was in counseling but I thought it was for grief of a friend of his dying overseas. He promises me that he hasn't seen either of the girls for 18 months and that's the only time he's ever cheated in the 6 years we've been together. Last week I was livid, like I couldn't stand to be around him lest I might do things I would regret. Last night in a moment of weakness I called him because I just wanted to hear it from him one more time as to why he did it. Why he needed call girls. I was so open to trying anything in bed, just why. And the truth is I miss him so much, it's killing me so a part of me just wanted to hear his voice and know that he's alive in this world. We ended up having the friendliest conversation over the course of about 4 hours since I found out. the reality is I still love him. I love everything about him (except the fucking hookers part). He's broken over this, he's taken himself off the flying schedule (in the middle of his instructor upgrade which may very well be a career staller) and he's doubled up his counselling sessions. He hasn't lied to me, he hasn't yelled at me, he hasn't blamed me for anything. I guess if there's a "right" way for a cheater to act, he's doing it. All of this is complicated because we are scheduled to be MOH/Best Man in our respective best friends wedding this coming Saturday. Both of us agree that we don't want our drama to come in the way of their good day so while we aren't going together, we are going to put on our happy faces for the 4 minutes we have to be around each other. But I'm worried I'm going to break when I see him, tall glorious and handsome in his tux. I am so devastated I don't know what to do. I miss him more than I miss any other person, but I also hate him more than I hate any other person. what in the hell should I do? Can a cheater ever change? tl;dr: found out my fiancé was sleeping with call girls for about year. Last incident was about 18 months ago and while I'm devastated, he's a broken person and I find myself missing him so much it's killing me. What should I do here? UPDATE: AITA if I back out of my best friends wedding? Best man was my ex-fiancé who I found out was cheating (I can't believe how huge this got). May 12, 2019 (8 days after 1st update) edit: the 3000 character limit makes this read way more choppy that I'd hoped. I hope this makes any sense whatsoever. I've logged into this throwaway a couple of times over the past week and honest to go have fifty DMs and comments asking me to update so here goes. Some of you may also know that my story got featured on major, major news websites and blogs. It was crazy. I left way too much identifiable info in my post so pretty much all my social circle knew it was me and it was also the way most everyone figured out ex had been cheating. We had a "meeting" among the four of us as to whether or not we proceed. We pretty much agreed that not showing up would cause more drama and "whispers" than if we didn't show up so we agreed to be civil and stay in our respective places. But having to spend that hour or so in same room with him just fueled me up with adrenaline and pure rage. That led into bachelorette party that night where I got freaking hammered and honest to god made out with so many guys while dancing I can't even count. I also ended up having my first one night stand ever with a 20 year old super cute guy from our university's wrestling team who was so sweet. I'm not proud of doing that but I'm also not ashamed either because it made me feel desirable and almost like I was going into the wedding day and rehearsal with some "parity" since, he I can be "naughty" too. Ex and I were of course paired up at rehearsal and I hate to admit this, we had an absolute blast with each other. It wasn't a mistake that we had such a great and fun relationship, we are very compatible. It probably also worked because we were able to put "the issue" on the side and focus on something else. Wedding was very much the same way. We walked arm in arm down the aisle with big beaming (and genuine) smiles since we were there for our friends. I had prepared a really nasty MOH toast that would have praised my friend and her loving relationship, loyalty and truthfulness (I even included a line about you never know who is going to call in the middle of the night) but as the reception wore on I could tell the weight of the situation was really getting to my ex and I felt like I really didn't need to twist the knife any further so I gave a nice but very generic toast. As night went on ex was more and more out of it and sitting by himself either on his phone or with his head in his hand. I didn't want people talking about him so I asked him to dance with me which was actually really, really nice since we both didn't say anything. At the end of it he but his hands around my face like he was going to kiss me (I would have totally let him, in that moment) and just whispered how sorry he was and walked away. I got distracted and turned around he had apparently left the reception. I hate myself for it but I was so sad to see him go. This wedding is literally the last thing we ever have to do with each other. There's no expectation of GOT Sundays or Bloody Mary brunches with his mom, we wont argue over how bad IPA beer smells or who forgot to put gas in the car. Like the reality of him just being able to leave without me arguing that I'm not ready to go yet (classic introvert/extrovert pairing here) sunk in that this is over. Like over...over. I went and cried uncontrollably in the kitchen of the hotel until the bride found me and cried with for a good half an hour. With that I knew I made the right choice in being there for my friend. So that is that, wedding is over and done with. No real drama, lots and lots of hurt feelings and a huge broken heart that I'm not sure how it will ever heal. I wish I could just turn off loving him but it's not going to happen. edit: last word on this guys and it's really honest to god say thank you. This sub has been such an amazing place (and particular shout out to /u/snausagefest who is a great moderator) and absolutely coaxed me into the right decision. I still have something like 1200 inbox notifications and I'm sure the people who gave me gold and silver are in there somewhere. If I don't get to thank you privately please know that I do thank you. And thank you so much for the words of encouragement that I will move on. I know I will. Right now its so fresh and I just keep thinking "god if you wouldn't have been up that night worrying about work, you never would have seen the text come in and you'd be ignorant to all of this...and happy." But that's not healthy because wishing to live an uninformed and ignorant life is never what I wanted to be. Anyways I'm indulging self pity and I don't want to do that anymore. This has been a crazy ride and I just want to say thank you. And foxnews...you kinda suck. I caught my roommate and her sister naked in my bed
My roommate (23 f) and I (24 f) have been living together for the past couple of years. We slowly became friends and I started to trust her. When I am gone (which is about every weekend), I have her go in my room to feed and water my cat (3 f). Lately I have been coming back home to certain things being out of place. Things like, the pillows on my bed shuffled out of place like someone laid there, my bathroom door closed (I never close it, my cat needs to access her litter box), and jewelry or perfume not in the correct spot. I never thought much of it, I knew she needed to go in my room to feed my cat and people are curious. This most recent time, I came home to something very odd. It was late, and the only thing I wanted to do was go to bed. Well, I walked into my bedroom and there was my roommate and her sister (22 f, who I have only met a handful of times) laid up in my bed. They were CHILLIN. T.V. on, snacks, all comfy in my bed... She immediately started to freak out "oh my god you were supposed to be home in a few days" telling her sister to get up and leave. I honestly did not even know what to say. She kept apologizing and saying she did not know I was coming home. Her sister got up still wrapped up in my blanket. I asked her if she could give me the blanket back. She said she couldn't because "I have to put clothes on". I looked at her and quickly realized that she was BUTT NAKED wrapped up in my bed! I was appalled. I gave a gross look, and just sighed. When I went into my bathroom, I saw a lot was out of place and it was clear my shower had been used. Another concerning thing is how often she talks about how her sister is a liar and thief. She steals from family members and shop lifts. Why would she skip out on my stuff? My roommate herself has made comments about how certain things in my room are "valuable" and has joked about if I was not so cool she would def pawn my stuff. I think this is all mostly my fault, because I am really chill and I do put up with a lot. She has never blown up on me, but I have overheard and seen her blow up over small things on other people. I fear if I bring this up she may freak. But now I am at the point where I know I have to say something. What should I do and how do I handle this without her blowing up? Thanks in advance, I barely use reddit but I have been listening to this podcast for a while now (hey morgan) and thought why not go here. I hope I followed the rules correctly. **edit: I have an open door policy for my cat. She is free to roam the entire house and has large windows, a cat tree, and automatic play toys that she uses. I have been leaving every weekend for the past few months to see my grandma who is in hospice and I am only gone 3 days at a time. When I got home that night, my door was closed with my cat outside of the room. She said she was scratching at the door to get out. But I always keep my door open, even at night so that should not have been an issue. My roommate does care about the cat and I know she would never do anything harmful to her. However, I am getting a camera and automatic feeder so there will no longer be a reason to be in my room.** Update: She apologized again, told me that she didn't realize I was coming home that night (again, shouldn't matter). I told her I am not comfortable with people staying in my room without her asking me first. I am a chill roommate and if someone can sleep on a bed (on top of my comforter, not in my sheets or personal blankets) instead of the uncomfortable couch then yes, they can. She also told me that her sister often sleeps nude and she was wrapped up because roommate was in there for a min. I truly don't think anything weird between them was going on. They were not touching, they were clearly apart with two separate blankets on. It just so happened that my blanket was on the nude sister. I am going to put in a camera, and purchase an automatic feeder once I get paid. Thing is, I don't plan on closing my door. Shutting my cat in my room for days at a time just isn't okay. I feel like boundaries have been set. For everyone calling me a pushover, maybe I am but I also have good intuition about people. She is not an evil person, I know her pretty well. Her and her sister grew up in a terrible home. Neither grew up learning basic manners. I know she needs grace. submitted by /u/Equal-Negotiation-86 to r/TwoHotTakes [link] [comments]

[16] My cat died today. I want to tell you about her.
The Story of Estelle Today, our family lost the most extraordinary cat we have ever known — our beloved Estelle. To us, she was Stella, Stelly, Stelly Welly, and Stelly Wellington. Before she was ours, at the Lanai Cat Sanctuary, she was known as Gothel. And she was, without question, one of the most remarkable souls I have ever encountered. My wife and I visited the sanctuary in January of 2024. We had recently suffered a painful loss in our family and took that trip hoping to heal. We already had two cats and two dogs at home, so we had no plans to adopt, but we all know how that goes for cat people at a cat shelter. We certainly did not expect that, out of nearly 800 cats, one tiny old cat in the senior ward would change our lives forever. But Estelle chose us. Well, actually, she chose my wife. She climbed into my wife’s lap and melted into her arms, and the rest is history. She was ours, and we were hers. Soon after, our brave girl flew to us from Hawaii, and we drove to the airport to pick her up. I still remember the cargo handler saying, “Oh, you’ve got a little cat,” and then looking into her crate and appearing startled at how rough she looked. Sweet little Estelle from Hawaii was matted, frail, and tiny — barely over four pounds. She was weak and made only the softest little sound, not quite a meow. She started her life feral on Lanai. Before she ever reached the wonderful Lanai Cat Sanctuary, she had endured things we can only imagine. When she came into their care, one eye was so badly infected that it had to be removed. Severe stomatitis took all of her teeth. Later imaging showed old healed broken ribs. The sanctuary loved her deeply, but they were honest with us — she was struggling. Her last veterinary report there, in December of 2023, essentially said it might be her time. Instead, she came to us. We brought her home and gave her her own room with a soft rug, fluffy beds, peaceful piano music, gentle lighting, little hiding places and lots of food options. Despite placing multiple litter boxes in the room, our formerly feral cat broke in the new rug many, many times. We thought we were simply giving a senior cat comfort for however long she had left. We had no idea what was coming. At first, she was heartbreakingly small and fragile. Her mats were so severe that we had to shave her down almost completely. What remained was this fuzzy little head atop a skinny little chicken body where you could feel every vertebra. She looked like a little stegosaurus — all spine and bones — so we called her Stellysaurus. And she was perfect. At that time, my wife was pregnant and studying for board exams, spending long hours in the room we had made for Stella. Day after day, Stella slowly came out of her shell and climbed into my wife’s lap. As my wife’s belly grew, Stella would sit perched on top of it, as though she were personally incubating our son. When he was born, she loved him instantly. She cuddled him, nuzzled him, slept beside him, and watched over him with endless sweetness. Even when he accidentally bumped her or startled her, she always came back for more snuggles. She simply loved him. In August of 2024, things took a turn. We found blood coming from one of her nipples, and she was diagnosed with mammary cancer, which, as many cat people know, carries grim odds for survival. We were told that choosing comfort care might mean only weeks. With Herculean efforts, maybe we could buy her a year. We agonized over the decision, and we really tried to see if we could get a read from her on what she wanted for herself. We believed she had the strength to fight, so we went to battle with her. She endured a lumpectomy days after her initial diagnosis, then two radical mastectomies just three weeks apart. Her skin was paper thin, but she healed beautifully after each procedure. Her oncology team recommended chemotherapy next. Following her first three chemo sessions, she bounced back the next morning like nothing happened. The fourth treatment nearly broke us. For eleven terrifying days, she barely touched food. She was hospitalized. We visited every single day and tried feeding her ourselves. Specialists from multiple departments were desperately trying to understand what was happening — inflammation, triaditis, fallout from chemotherapy — but there were no clear answers. And then one day, my wife and I opened a can of wet food and offered it to her on a tongue depressor, and Stelly just started eating as tears streamed down our faces. Stelly picked herself up like Rocky versus Drago. Then we met an extraordinary internal medicine doctor (Dr. H!) who found the formula that brought balance back into Stella’s life. Twice daily subcutaneous fluids, medications, supplements, syringes, needles, lactated ringers, alarms with reminders every hour. It was a level of care that at first felt overwhelming and impossible. But the difficult became the routine, and that became the beginning of the best year of Stella’s life. Every morning, she woke up excited for her breakfast, declaring her appetite with an impressively loud squawk — and we started calling her Stelly Yellington, our little Squawkatoo. She started gaining weight. Every time she used her Litter-Robot — which she taught herself to use after being a lifelong “go anywhere” girl — I got a notification on my phone with her weight. 5.0. 5.1. 5.2. 5.3. Then 5.5. Then 6. Then 7. Then a chunky, magnificent 7.7 pounds. She eventually settled around 7.4 pounds and stayed there — healthy and thriving. We could hardly believe our eyes. She always used to walk into our bedroom by first poking her little one-eyed face around the doorway to make sure we were there, pausing, and then joining us in bed with an impressive high jump that would surprise anyone who watched her walking around seemingly in slow motion. At that point, her body looked like a tiny head attached to what could only be described as a cement mixer truck. So naturally, her new nickname was Stelly Cement Mixer. For other cats, extra weight is something to watch carefully. For Stella, it was a triumph. It was proof that she felt good. Proof that she was happy. She got to fulfill her destiny of becoming a chunky, happy cat who loved life. And she took full advantage. She claimed the best spot on the bed, and the rest of us people and cats arranged our sleeping positions around her. If she wanted your pillow, it was hers. If another cat was where she wanted to be, she would confidently plop herself down and somehow nudge her much larger siblings off to the side. If she needed to get somewhere, she didn’t go around, she just walked right over the top of us. So, yet another nickname was born — Stompy Stelly. Our 16-pound orange tabby deferred to her. Our dogs, who like to chase our other cats if they intrude on their space, would let Stella walk right past them and sit between them on the couch. Everyone in our house knew the rule — Stelly was the queen. Her best friend was our long-haired white cat, nicknamed Puff — her naughty baby sister, tormentor, cuddle companion, and soulmate. Puff would ambush her around corners, and Stella would squawk dramatically and throw a little paw in protest, but later they would be curled up next to each other in bed like yin and yang, Stelly nestled into Puff’s fur as if Puff existed solely to be her pillow. She was feisty. She was funny. She was sweet. She was forgiving. When we gave medications or fluids, she might give us her little squawk or even a hiss in protest — and then, moments later, climb right back up onto us, nose-to-nose, giving us “face mushies,” purring and purring and purring. Our son has since started giving us face mushies of his own, something we like to think he learned from her, and we love that those tender little moments will always remind us of Stella and the sweet bond they shared. She did everything we could have ever imagined for her and then some. She survived what should have broken her. She gave more love than should have been possible from such a tiny body. She left a mountain-sized mark on our hearts and our lives. Truthfully, we can barely remember life before Stella, or even who we were before her, because she changed us so profoundly and taught us just how deeply it is possible to love. She was just different than any pet we have ever had or known. She taught us never to underestimate any animal — no matter how scraggly, sick, or counted out — because with love and care, any animal may have a beautiful life awaiting them. She showed us what is possible in every sense of the word. We often think about the story of the little girl throwing starfish back into the ocean. When she’s asked what difference it makes, she replies, “It matters to that one.” Sometimes, we feel overwhelmed by all the cats, dogs, and other animals in shelters and sanctuaries, wishing we could open our home to every one of them. And though that weight can make us feel sad, it is important to remember that seemingly small acts can mean the world to an individual soul. What we did mattered to her, and she mattered to us. She was our Stelly Starfish. And even through the very end, she gave us everything we needed, even when she was the one in need. Today, after a sudden and heartbreaking decline, and despite every effort to give her more time, she passed peacefully at home — in our bed, in her favorite spot, in both of our arms. She waited until we brought her back to her place. Then she let go. One final gift. One final moment of Stelly being exactly who she always was — giving us comfort, even at the moment we were losing her. We are shattered. Puff will miss her. Our son will miss her. Our other animals will miss her. My wife and I will miss her every day for the rest of our lives. But what a life. What a soul. What a miracle she was. Rest in peace, sweet Stella. You did everything. You were perfect. And you will be loved forever. submitted by /u/RosieAlbertFelix to r/seniorkitties [link] [comments]

Master Bedroom in Our Forever Home
My fiancé and I bought and moved into our forever home a couple of months ago, and I’ve been working on combining our stuff and styles. Still things to do and add in the master bedroom, like swapping out the white wall plates for black, and adding a long wood shelf to the wall above the headboard for some plants and art. I’ve always loved history, historic homes, architecture, art, and design. So getting to live in such an incredible home and make it personal and beautiful is one of my lifelong dreams. I’m really happy with how it’s coming together. The bed and nightstands are from Thuma, he had it in his previous place. It’s a great bed, but we might replace it with something a little less MCM in the future. The brass lamps came from somewhere like Home Goods, and they each have two lightbulbs with separate switches…which means that at night I can switch on the red lights. The carved wood piece by the mirror is a monk’s bench from about 1849, and is a Jacobean revival. I got an incredible deal on it. Fireplace dresser and rug are from Amazon. Agate lamp from the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show. The jersey duvet cover is from West Elm, the Tiger pillow is from a local boutique, the patterned quilt came from Target, I think. Wallpaper is The Gardens of Jaipur from Mind the Gap. It’s hard to get a truly representative photo of it…it’s much more beautiful, subtle, and playful in person! submitted by /u/UrbanDurga to r/interiordecorating [link] [comments]

There should be a home department that includes candles, sets of glasses, mugs, bed sheet sets, pillows, lamps, etc. It could be neat. Also suggestions really should go here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/3819640/discussions/0/737036097948905061/

RE:34w+6d today and struggling!
I remember the last few weeks feeling like another 9 months. At that point I just wanted our baby out. The best advice I can give is, 1) find something to make the time go by. 2) fill your bed with pillows and tuck them under your side and belly 3) ask your partner to help you roll onto whatever side feels comfortable at the moment. I hope that helps. You’re almost there! You got this!

My (25m) wife (26f) has had lice for almost a year. How to handle this?
I am NOT the Original Poster. That was licewife. He posted in r/relationships Thanks to u/Awwndrei for finding this one! These posts are over 10 years old. Trigger Warning: mental health issues; lice infestation Mood Spoiler: gross and also frustrating but seems to have an ok ending? Also this might make your head feel itchy, fair warning. Original Post: January 25, 2016 Hi, this is embarrasing. We've been together for 4 years, have a couple of kids, and are doing fine, just fyi. My wife went for a haircut like 8 months ago and was embarrased to find out she had lice and they wouldn't cut her hair. We assumed she got it from a friend's daughter who we hadn't seen in months since she had lice and would stay over often and even gave it to our son. We used those lice combs and treatments a few times but my wife has very long and fine hair so we missed some and accomplished virtually nothing. Now I'm not upset because we've been unsuccessful. I'm upset because in the last six months, my wife has not attempted any treatment at all. She has been completely ignoring the problem and gets annoyed at me when I bring it up. She /always/ has an excuse ready for why she can't do anything about it at the moment and has probably set at least a dozen dates where she says she'll set time aside to handle it but something always comes up or she just forgets. Last week, she called a service that treats lice but didn't get a call back and never followed up. Now she says she'll call again next week because she doesn't have any money. I don't want to lose my family over such a seemingly stupid issue but I really just never saw myself married to someone who lacks the resolve to get rid of a bug infestation in their own hair. It's disgusting, it is a turn-off, it's selfish (she'll give it to me or my kids eventually), and it is indicative of a much larger character flaw that I can't quite put my finger on. Even aside from all of that, the everyday nuissance of having bugs in her hair is very irritating. We can't spoon, she can't get a haircut even though she desperately needs one, she'll put her head on mine without thinking during sex and it will completely ruin the mood for me, etc. The worst thing is that she's super insecure about it and also acts like nothing is really wrong since she's getting it taken care of soon. But she's been acting like this for over 6 months and still treats me like I'm being an ass if I bring it up. She reacts like I'm making a jab at her looks or her weight. I'm extremely confident at this point that if I were to just ignore the issue and let her handle it in her own time (like I was doing for months) that this might possibly never be resolved. Unless people here convince me it's a stupid idea, I'm probably going to show her this. I've tried talking to her about it but it doesn't accomplish anything and she just immediately gets irritated and changes the subject. EDIT: There is a lot of misinformation about lice here. Keep these facts in mind before adding to the problem: Lice only survive off of the host for like a day. Lice can't jump or fly. Lice don't carry diseases. Pets can't get lice. I 100% do not have lice and neither do my kids so please stop telling me we do. [Editor's note: I checked into all of these and they seem to be true. Animals can get lice, but dogs can only get dog specific lice, and so on] tl;dr: Wife has lice but doesn't do anything about it. It's embarrasing and is making me question what kind of person I am spending the rest of my life with. Some of OOP's Comments: Deleted: "Unless people here convince me it's a stupid idea, I'm probably going to show her this." It's a stupid idea. You'll come across as weak and it will validate her belief that this is all a personal attack. A far better idea is to organize the treatment yourself and drive her ass to it. Call the place, set an appointment time, "Get in the car, I am driving you to get the bugs in you hair removed for the sake of everyone else in the family", walk her into the clinic or whatever and wait in the waiting room. OOP: Good point. I've gotten more assertive when pressing this issue lately but I really want her to just get this taken care of herself like a normal, responsible adult. If I have to treat her like a child to get this taken care of then I'm acknowledging that I'm married to someone who can't even handle this themselves... :/ fluffybunnybutts: If her only excuse is not having money then you pay for it. At this point, you probably need to de-louse your whole house. This is just going to get worse and worse. OOP: That's not her only excuse, that's her most recent excuse. There is always an excuse but this week's was money since we just had car trouble and bought some plane tickets. I've offered to pay for it for months. "de-louse your whole house." The worst part is that we moved in with my folks for a few months to save on rent while we had a bit of a money crisis. It's embarrasing just thinking about and certainly not fair to them. I'd probably just crawl into a corner and die if my mom mysteriously got lice. Gulliverlived: Um, plane tickets? Wtf is wrong with the two of you? Yes, you too. You have children, you're living in your parents house, you're blithely traveling. What adult behaves like this, much less two? OOP: (downvoted) If you must know, someone died. colakoala200: I think you've been letting her deal with the issue on her own way too much. You need to step up and take charge of her infestation yourself and clear it out. This means setting aside about one to two hours a day for you to go through your wife's hair with a fine tooth comb and strong light, picking nits out with your fingernails. This means using all the tricks: the lice shampoo every few days, the vinegar thing, the olive oil thing, all of it. You commit yourself to it and work on it every day until you haven't seen any nits for a week. If you sit several feet away from her and your way of dealing with the problem is to nag her to deal with her own lice... which she actually can't do (no one really can), then no wonder she gets sensitive about it. If you really don't want to get involved, you should be the one to find someone who will. Having lice is not a hygiene thing. It's an affliction. You need to treat this like she's sick, not like she's lazy. OOP: I've done this. She'll make an excuse as to why she can't do it today and promise we'll do it tomorrow. Tomorrow will bring a brand new excuse. I have brought home treatments from the pharmacy and scheduled days where I could comb and apply them. Short of demanding she sits down and lets me treat her lice with some sort of ultimatum, there's nothing I haven't done. OOP on ignoring commenters who say he has lice: (downvoted) I have been ignoring these because I don't have lice. Neither does my son and my daughter doesn't really have hair yet. I check my son regularly and myself. Both of us get haircuts every month as well and barbers/stylists do not cut hair that has lice in it. To another commenter: I know that this thread has already decided that I have lice but I don't. I have short hair and get it cut regularly. Barbers/stylists look for lice and won't touch your hair if you have them. Also with my hair color, lice would be extremely noticable and I check often. Does wife really have lice? Yes, I have seen them. Update Post: January 29, 2016 (4 days later) Hello. After several months of absolutely no progress, I really wasn't expecting to have an update for you all after just a few days but here it is! I talked to her when I got home and managed to find a few minutes alone without distractions and asked her for a status update on the lice removal. Long story short, I was met with another excuse as to why it would have to wait until next week and my foot came down. I don't think she took it seriously until later on in the night when we went to bed. I slept on our futon instead of with her and also turned her down for sex, which is something that I am pretty sure has happened only like twice in our entire relationship. The very next day she called and made an appointment to get professionally de-loused. I went with to the appointment and they were able to check me as well. The woman did not find anything in my hair even with a magnifying glass and a UV light that apparently makes the nits glow. My wife was treated and is now lice free. We talked afterwards about why it took so long for her to get it taken care of. Many of you were right; she was embarrassed, broke, discouraged from the hours we wasted trying to treat it ourselves in the beginning, and it was just easier for her to not think about it. Also, once we moved into my parent's house, she was even more embarrased and did not want them to know about it. Pretty much all of the at-home treatments would be a dead giveaway. She apologized, vacuumed, did all of our laundry and bedding, and we have put this annoyance behind us. We also checked our son when he got home from school and he's in the clear too. So that's that! Still have to get to the bottom of why someone would think it's preferable to have lice than to deal with the embarrasment of people knowing you have lice, but I think that's one of those pesky communication things that we have to work on. Thanks very much to those of you that responded with legitimate advice. I got over 100 PM's after my post was locked regarding lice treatments that you found successful lol. Since the last post got a ton more attention than I was expecting and the comments were like 60% misinformation about lice, I'll clear a few things up with info that I learned from the professionals at the delousing clinic (I hope this isn't against the rules): Lice can't live anywhere except on a human head and they die about 24 hours if they are away. Since they die so quickly, it's not possible to have a "lice infestation" in your home or on your furniture. All we were told to do to make sure she doesn't get re-infected from a stray lice was to either stay away from unwashed pillows/hats/bedding for a couple days or to wash it in hot water. Some people are immune to lice and differen't "families" (the word the delouser used) of lice only like certain types of hair. In other words, it's entirely possible to live with someone with lice and not get lice. tl;dr: Good talk, no more lice, still unresolved root issues, progress! Some of OOP's Comments: To a deleted commenter: Yeah, that's definitly the underlying issue. A big part of that issue is likely the way I approached her about it but we both are coming to terms with our faults. "Do you two normally keep your finances separate, to the point where she wouldn't feel comfortable asking you for help paying for a medical issue like this?" Our finances aren't really seperate at the moment. 100% of my money is getting thrown at our debt and we have been living off of the cash she makes serving. Money is super tight but she never hesitates to ask if she needs it. She was just using it as an excuse because she didn't want to deal with the problem. almosttan: Sweet Jesus I never imagined a restaurant server with head lice. OOP: Lice can't jump or fly. Also, servers keep their hair tied up so hair doesn't fall out and get into food. There's a reason it's mostly kids and their parents that get head lice and that reason is that it's virtually impossible to spread without direct head-to-head contact or, to a much lesser extent, both people having direct contact with the same object...with their heads. I'm having a hard time even imagining a plausible scenario where a restaurant server spreads lice to a patron. Finances: Yeah, that's definitly the underlying issue. A big part of that issue is likely the way I approached her about it but we both are coming to terms with our faults. Do you two normally keep your finances separate, to the point where she wouldn't feel comfortable asking you for help paying for a medical issue like this? Our finances aren't really seperate at the moment. 100% of my money is getting thrown at our debt and we have been living off of the cash she makes serving. Money is super tight but she never hesitates to ask if she needs it. She was just using it as an excuse because she didn't want to deal with the problem. OOP follows up in a Comment: May 4, 2016 (3.5 months later) I'll have you know that nobody else in the house got lice. We got her treated by a pro a few days after posting and the de-louser person said that lice can be specific to certain hair types. Also since she was washing her hair and blow-drying it, that was killing most of them and the de-louser only found like 12 of them. submitted by /u/LucyAriaRose to r/BestofRedditorUpdates [link] [comments]

AIO by moving to the couch after a fight over a missed text
On Monday, my husband came home from work early because he wasn’t feeling well and I tiptoed around the house to be respectful while working from home. When he woke up, I made dinner and he locked himself in the bathroom for one of his multiple daily 45min bathroom trips. I made tacos and he came out of the bathroom. The first thing he did was say “you don’t have taco sauce?“ All exasperated. We sat down to dinner and he says “this tastes salty” while staring at his phone. I finished and left the table without saying anything. It has become a regular thing that he just criticizes dinner, maybe after eating he will thank me but he ALWAYS leads with complaints. He tells me he will clean the tub out (honestly it’s already pretty clean and 10000x better than the way he lived) for me to take a bath, I said okay, thanked him profusely for doing it and took a bath. As I was getting dried off he came in and was actually annoyed and said “I thought you were going to take a shower after and I was going to join you” and then got in the shower, clearly upset with me. I literally never shower after a bath, and frankly I had already showered that day and was taking a bath for relaxation. I assumed it was making up for him telling me NOT to take a bath the other night for my sore muscles because he would massage me (which lasted for 5 minutes and resulted in sex without satisfaction for me but of course I said nothing unkind about that) When I left the bathroom he texted me something about a part to a truck from the shower, I read and responded to it kindly and put the phone down and got dressed. I picked my phone back up 13 minutes later and I was in TROUBLE. He forgot a towel when he got in the shower and texted me to bring him one. some things to note: the bathroom is literally directly across the hall from the linen closet the bathroom has a nice hair dryer that will dry your whole body in like 20 seconds, I use it all the time when I forget a towel. the bedroom is close enough for you to just shout my name if you don’t see me check my texts he did not choose to call. Please see the text exchange. When he came in the room he was MAD. Firing off personal insults (I’m having an issue with my son, he’s about to be kicked out of the house over getting a girl pregnant and not getting a better job to accommodate it and earlier in the day he refused to answer me about contacting the mother of his baby, this situation is extremely stressful to me and deeply emotional) he immediately fires into “you don’t answer your phone no wonder your kids ignore you, they learned this from you” and I was like.. are you being serious? over a missed text and a towel??? He told me I should have RAN to the bathroom with a towel when I saw the message (he said he was almost done drying 5 minutes before I saw the text, why would I run?) He calls me a bitch, tells me I’m “the only one allowed to be upset” and when I get up to walk away from the conversation he throws a pillow at me and tells me to go sleep on the floor. so I’ve slept on the couch for three days now and honestly, I think my feelings are changing about him. He told me “I win” and to come back to bed but he doesn’t acknowledge his behavior in any way. am I overreacting for moving to the couch after such a disgusting outburst? I’ve already had talks with him about calling me names and clearly it’s just getting more casual that such a nothing situation would result in being called names after a day of me being considerate to him and shit on every time we interact. submitted by /u/Frequent_Estimate_77 to r/AmIOverreacting [link] [comments]

Things I learned from my housekeeper that I still do to this day
I’ve learned so many little tricks from housekeepers over the years. Here are little tips I use to this day❤️ an appreciation post for all the details cleaners put into their cleans! I wrap my phone charger through my bed frame so it’s always easy to grab. It used to just hang on the ground. It was life changing when I first got into bed and saw my housekeeper did this for me lol the little toilet paper on the tap trick. I knew of this but now I’ve adopted it whenever company comes over. Guests are AMAZED (Edit: explained in the comments, but it’s when you fold the last hanging piece of toilet paper into a triangle and then press it against the sink tap. The circle of the tap will act as a stamp that secures the triangle and makes it look fancy. It signals to guests that the bathroom has been freshly cleaned 😊) pillow arrangements on beds. Sometimes they make it so nice and I think “why didn’t I think of that?” I also had an amazing cleaner who would arrange my kids pillows/pjs/blankets into shapes and it was so thoughtful and cute I open ALL blinds and curtains. I used to clean but keep it pretty dim, but opening ALL blinds makes a huge difference! Feels so much cleaner immediately would love to hear other little details you do/or have experienced yourself Editing to add some after being reminded in the comments: HANDHELD VACUUM - LIFE CHANGING!!! Taking out the vacuum was a pain so I did it when crumbs would accumulate. Having a small one in the kitchen drawer makes it so easy, so I don’t mind quickly vacuuming crumbs and dirt whenever I see them. Spray and leave - I used to spray and wipe immediately. Now I spray my surfaces, clean something else, come back and scrub etc. Folding bath towels - I use to just fold in half and in half again. Now I fold it the hot dog way, and then either roll or fold the ends into the middle (you can watch YouTube for different easy ways). It’s a little thing that elevated the vibe! submitted by /u/Bubbly_Picture_9876 to r/CleaningTips [link] [comments]

For men who live alone: how many pillows do you have on your bed?
So I have this friend who sent me a photo of his bed : he has a total of six pillows - Two pillows stacked on top of each other (so three layers upon the headboard) like those couple bed things. He told me he's single, never been married (or lived with any woman), nor is he in a relationship. I wonder how common this type of setup is among men who live alone. submitted by /u/vuln_huntre to r/AskMen [link] [comments]

Night showers are the only showers that actually matter
If you only shower in the morning, you’re literally going to bed every night covered in the filth of the day before. Dirt from your commute, sweat from the gym, germs from touching everything in public spaces, all of that is now on your sheets and pillow. Congrats, you’re marinating in it all night. Showering at night actually makes way more sense for hygiene. You go to bed clean, your sheets stay fresher longer, and you’re not dragging the day’s mess into the place you rest. Morning showers, in comparison, feel like more of a ritual or a “wake me up” thing Of course, if you want to do both, fine. But if you’re only going to choose one, it should be the night shower. Because that’s the one that actuall keeps you (and your bed) clean submitted by /u/Ok_Bodybuilder_2384 to r/unpopularopinion [link] [comments]

Is it just me or does anyone else think every bed and pillow in the Star Trek universe looks horribly uncomfortable? ... did they really think hard triangular wedges and thick foam cylinders would be the gold standards for pillows in the future?
Good luck trying to sneak in a nap on that set. OP to sickbay - I’m on my way for my daily neck crick treatment! POST ADDITION: The response to this post was way more than I expected and made me laugh so many times! I love Trekkies so much! Thanks, y’all! submitted by /u/Melange-Witch to r/startrek [link] [comments]
