Hi all, I have a problem and really need help. It’s getting out of hand. I’m 28 weeks pregnant and my pregnancy craving is toilet paper. I eat and swallow almost a roll of tissue a day. The cravings become more after eating food. I’m scared it’s harming my baby but I can’t stop either. I’m scared to tell my dr bc I started prenatal care very late and they already judged me for that now I don’t want to bring this up. For now I don’t think it’s causing any blockage as I have a bowel movement probably 7-8 times a day ever since I started eating it. I recently saw a TikTok about how Kirkland TP irritates a lady’s genital area and I thought it was weird because I had some of the same issues. Lo and behold, I look it up and some women started developing BV and other vaginal issues because of Kirkland TP. Once I switched to name brand TP, my issues stopped. I live in a house with four roommates. We each have our own room but we share two restrooms and a kitchen. We all deal with the landlord separately and people come and go as time passes. The past couple years, because of disagreements among the housemates, the landlord has decided to choose the new tenants by himself and leaves us out of the choosing process. For a while that worked, but recently we received a roommate who is just beyond words a lot of the time and today was one of those times. Why are westerners like Americans use toilet paper rather than using a faucet and water to clean your butt? Is it good enough and sanitary than thoroughly cleaning it with a jet of water? It's been in my head the whole time. Edit: Hey, it's been a heated conversation. To be frank I didn't expect to get all these replies and blow up. These all come back to the point of the user. Everyone has their own interests and can change with the upbringing and practices and vary with places and culture. In 🇮🇳 India majority of the urban people mainly middle class have something called 'health faucet' next to European closet, which gives out a jet of water from its head part (I think health faucet is similar to bidet shower, IDK for sure. Just google health faucet and you will get the images), and moreover, we can manually adjust the pressure of water coming out with a simple lever like a thing. We mainly use the health faucet with the right hand and clean the but with the left hand (because in India most people use their right hand do eat food) For more rural and lower-class people they mainly use a bucket and water for cleaning. It's just as simple as pouring the water in a mug with a right hand and cleaning butt with the left hand. But nowadays most of the hotels also have an extra option of toilet papers for foreign tourists.
